Ngl I got a kick out of people fearing for their life when Mr. Shrimp's backstory was revealed. As soon as it started, everyone got an Acro Silky PTSD reaction and went "Oh fuck no. No. No. No. Don't you fucking dare. Let's not do this. Not again."

PART TWO TO THE APOTHECARY WIFE, imagine that Mizu and her Wife are at the cliff during that festival with Ringo and then the four fangs attack resulting Mizus wife getting cut in the waist which made Mizu angry. (Mizu with a wife makes me happy)
pairing: mizu x fem!apothecary!reader
warning(s): blood, swearing
a/n: ooooohhhhh protective mizu how I love you. also, anon, I love you too thank you for allowing me to indulge in this. reader refers to mizu as male when around others <3
summary: after mizu finally allowed you to travel with her, you arrive on Tanabe Island to catch a boat. when the four fangs find her and you’re injured.. let’s say mizu’s not happy.
word count: 982 words / 5,223 characters
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
you're glancing around, your arm hooked around mizu's as you walked. you had came to tanabe island to find a boat; a boat you had been denied until their festivities were over. which means you were stuck here until morning.
It wasn’t all bad; it really wasn’t. time you got to relax with mizu, and a rest from your travels wasn’t bad at all.
“(y/n),” mizu says rather softly, making your head come up to meet her eyes. “why don’t you go with ringo? explore a little.”
your eyes narrow. you know what she’s attempting to do. she’s attempting to keep you out of danger, which, you appreciated. but at the same time, you didn’t want to be coddled like you weren’t a grown woman.
“I’m not leaving your side,” your grip tightened on her arm. “god knows you are going to get yourself hurt again, and I need to be there and help you.”
mizu sighed. she knew she wasn’t getting through you.
“fine, fine,” she grumbled. “but leave five feet from my sight and you'll be going right back here.”
you nod, laughing a little, “I’ve got it, mizu,” you whisper back. “where are you planning to go, anyway?”
“to train,” she replied, taking your hand and leading you out into the snowy forest. you watched your wife train often. you enjoyed seeing her do it; knowing that she was secretly trying to show off for you.
you sat on a tree stump, one she had cut down previously. you watched her precise movements, her clean cuts. you loved the way her mind worked… it worked in such a different way from yours.
perhaps that’s why you fit so well together.
she had a mind for strategy, for battle. you could see her gears spinning in her mind, yet never know when she would strike, and where.
and you had a mind for healing. you knew what worked well together, and how to heal even the deepest of wounds. you were so different; yet you're love burned deeply.
a rustle in the woods piqued your interest.
mizu didn’t seem to hear it; she was too focused on her work.
you couldn’t see anyone in the forest, so you assumed it was just a small animal. something you didn’t need to worry about. you didn’t dare tell mizu; it would only worry her.
after a while, you two had settled down by a fire. you were nestled up against your wife. mizu was holding your hands, gently playing with your fingers. she didn’t have her glasses on, not her hat, there was nothing to hide between you two.
you knew her secrets. her flaws. you loved her despite them.
when the beating of the drums came, your wife looked ready to get up, and to go and see what was happening.
but she couldn’t. a sword stabbed through the tree, almost piercing her head.
you jumped up, sticking close to your wife. she had one arm around your waist, her other hand held her sword. she had her glasses back on, her eyes narrowed to the men that were approaching.
you're eyes were wide with shock.
the four fangs.
“you can take those off,” one man hissed, raising an eyebrow as his sword pointed at her. “we know what they hide.”
mizu didn’t speak, at first. she tore off her glasses, tossing them to the side. revealing the blue eyes of what they perceived as a demon.
she leant down and whispered to you,
“go. go and run, hide somewhere I can find you when I’m done here.”
you glanced at her for a moment. you saw the determination in her eyes, the strength.
you thought about it, for a moment.
but you had made your decision—you promised you weren’t going to leave her, and you were a woman of her word.
“no,” you hiss, “I’m here with you, my love, and I’m not leaving you.”
“a samurai traveling with his wife… traveling with…”
he paused, gazing at you.
“weakness.”
the four fangs had cornered them onto a cliff. there was four of them… and one samurai. they were indubitably fucked.
your eyes shot wide and your body folded with one slash to your waist.
you fell Into the snow, blood spilling from your wound. you knew it wasn’t a deep wound; but if it wasn’t treated soon you would bleed out in the snow.
mizu stared at you for a moment, her eyes wide and looking as if she wanted to cry.
though it quickly turned to one of anger, looking back at the four fangs—
“you're going to fucking regret that.” she hissed, engaging in fight with the fangs.
she took each of them down relentlessly; her anger evident from the way this man had hurt you.
she had the last one pinned to the grass, a sword at his chest. he was bleeding from multiple points—specifically where she had sliced his arm clean off, ready to do the same with his head if he tried anything.
“you'll never fucking think of touching my wife ever again,” she narrowed her eyes, stabbing the sword straight through his chest. he screamed in pain, his body convulsing before it eventually gave out.
you were still alive, cleaning your wound as best as you could.
mizu walked over to you, covered in the four fangs blood. she lifted you from the snow, placing you much more comfortably in her lap.
“.. you're going to be okay, right?” mizu asked the question, as if needing you to say yes.
“yes, my love,” you brushed a hand across her cheek. “my wound isn’t deep. It will need to be stitched, though..”
“you have no need to worry about that,” she tucked a strand of hair out of your face. “I’ll handle everything, my darling. you need to heal if we are to travel, soon.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
a/n: okay so tell me that when mizu said she wanted to go see the “fun” she wasn’t talking about seeing naked women. TELL ME SHE WASNT I DARE YOU (also mizu having a wife makes me happy, too)

circus x gn!reader
Tumblr media
ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, please, raise your hands for tonight's star act, mx.maddox and the wanderer's!
Tumblr media
★Waking up in a thick black fog was not something you'd ever expect to happen to you. Looking around, Spotting a circus in the distance, was pretty much your only hope of finding a way out. What were they doing out here? Were they in the same boat as you? Regardless, you just hoped they're nice..
★kri was the first to meet you, having found you wandering around outside the circus tents, he quickly introduced himself and asked you where you came from. After explaining your predicament, he nodded in thought
"gee.. that sounds rough.. but don't worry, I'm sure Maddox will know what to do, come with me!"
★Maddox had been stuck in the circus for a long while, along with the other residents. Kri opened the flap into his tent and quickly explained the situation.
"I'm sorry for your predicament young one.. but im afraid we don't know any way out.. on the other hand, you are welcome to stay and be apart of the circus"
★having no other options you accepted, kri excitedly dragging you to the nursery, where all the children and young adults stayed. He introduced you to jiro, Kyo and wendy. Explaining how the four of them were the clowns
★jiro welcomed you with a kind smile, and nodded his head as greeting. You noticed how he didn't seem like much of a talker, preferring to watch and listen
"welcome y/n, I hope you enjoy your stay here"
★Kyo was obviously the most energetic of the bunch, happily blabbering about whatever and making horrible jokes. His friends only gave a small laugh and pat on the back
"it's great to see a new face, come to me if you need a picker upper okay?"
★and last but not least, Wendy. She stayed quiet, giving a shy smile and looking away whenever you'd make eye contact. She shook your hand and soon left, having seemed uncomfortable
"don't mind her... She just needs time getting used to everything, she'll come around"
★they assigned you a bed, and that's how your life at the circus started. Everyone was very welcoming, everyone but wendy. Often staring at you wearily and from a distance. 'Till one night, she came into your tent after everyone went to sleep
"shhh.. I'm sorry for bothering you this late butI need to talk to you.."
"..okay? What is it you need?"
"I'm sorry if I've been coming off as.. distant.. it's just.. you remind me of something that feels so familiar, but I can't put my finger on it.."
"oh..."
"..as you already know, everyone calls me wendy, so you can too I guess.. sorry, did that come off as cold? I'm not really used to Talking to new people.. a-anyways, if you need anything, or if you have any questions.. you can come to me"
"I'll.. keep that in mind, thank you Wendy"
★she gives you a smile and leaves soon after, quickly rushing away. The next few days, she slowly starts talking to you. Opening up bit by bit
"you know.. everyone calls us the dream team, but I really don't think we're suitable for that name. Even Maddox calls us a nightmare!"
"yeah, because you're the main factor to that assumption"
"Wendy.."
"...sorry"
★during your stay with them, you learned that Wendy showed up at the circus just a few days before you, no wonder she seemed so distant. Sometimes she'd say random words in Spanish, most likely cussing kyo out
★their roles in their act goes like this: jiro and kri are the sideshow, doing tricks and all sorts of things while Kyo and wendy were the mains. Acting out many silly stories and using slapstick humor most of the time.
★the first time you saw them in their costumes you nearly had a heartattack. Imagine seeing four scary looking clowns just staring at you ominously from the darkness
★they perform for these shadow people that would come to the circus, nobody knows what they are or why they show up, but there were rumours that once, long ago, the previous circus inhabitants refused to perform for them and.. well.. they had to be "replaced"
★during one of the dream teams acts, you wandered off. Exploring the back tents and dressing rooms when you came across multiple people you recognized, from when they all welcomed you into their little family
★a ballerina named Odette, who was next in line for the show. She seemed sweet as she waved at you from her dressing room, waving back you quickly left
"oh! Hello y/n, do you need something?"
★samson the beast tamer, a peculiar cocky man. He bowed as he dragged a lion by a chain collar behind him. You sincerely hoped they didn't mistreat the animals like other circuses, but judging by the lions calm and obedient attitude, maybe it was domesticated?
"good day sweets"
★will the stuntsman. He gave you a devilish grin as he passed by you, carrying some metal pipe. Giving a wave and smile in return
"see ya later toots!"
★maybe living in the circus won't be so bad..?

Happy 28th! Here is my February 2024 fic rec, organized by word count, from longest to shortest. You can view my other fic recs here. Enjoy!
Remember Me Fondly by kiddle / @bluejeanlouis (73k)
“You’ve told the beginning of the story so many times. I want to hear the end.”Louis laughed, scratching at his chin. “I can’t say I really know when the end happened.”“How about the tour of ninety-five?”“Alright.” Louis took a deep breath. “But it took a few steps to get there. What would you like to know?”Penny cleared her throat.“How did you first meet Harry Styles?” Grunge legends Fearless Doe topped the rock charts in the ‘90s, but they spent the decade kicking Smudge off their heels. From lawsuits to jaw-dropping scandals and a surprising joint world tour, the two bands share a complicated history.
Twenty-five years later, frontmen Louis Tomlinson and Harry Styles are finally ready to sit down and tell the world their two sides of the same story.
Truth may vary.
I Would Know You From Touch Alone by staybeautiful / @harruandlou (72k)
They had never been face to face before now. They’d never touched, skin to skin, until Harry landed a punch to his face, high on his cheekbone.
Louis shoved him off and was pulling his fist back from Harry’s abdomen before he realized his face wasn’t tingling because of the pain.
It pooled out from his cheek, over his face, down his neck and spine. A shiver in the late September night. Heat, sparks - whatever you wanted to fucking call it.
or The Tomlinson and Cox gangs have hated each other for over forty years. Harry Styles, the grandson of Gritty Cox, was freshly back to the city after uni when, on his first night out, he punched the Tomlinson heir in the face. It shouldn’t have mattered, their gangs have done worse to each other. But all it took was one single touch to recognize your soulmate. Louis was adamant that being soulmates changed nothing, not who they were or which family they were loyal to. Or, at least, it shouldn’t have.
A Yuzu Grows in Brooklyn by stylinsoncity / @aliensingucci (66k)
Harry is a recent implant in new york and a young chef opening a restaurant called yuzu. louis, a music teacher and broadway lover, has been around the block for a while. in a city that's so fast-paced, they're slow to catch on to each other.
Ferricadooza! by suspendrs / @suspendrs (65k)
Harry can’t even fathom the idea of surrendering; he’d fight ‘til he died, if he had to, anything to keep from surrendering.
Or, the year is 1963, homosexuality is illegal in the UK, Louis owns a gay bar, and Harry’s an underground boxing champion with an unfortunate enemy.
The Recklessness in Water by LarryOn (50k)
Louis Tomlinson is miserable. He's stuck on a family vacation at a lake cabin in New Hampshire when all he wants to do is bemoan his sorry existence and wallow in his sweatpants. As if the humidity and mosquitos weren't bad enough, he becomes the singular target of an obnoxious lifeguard named Harry.
Passing By by Larry_you_know / @larryyouknow (48k)
Sometimes, people are in each other's lives just for the briefest of moments. They meet and then go their separate ways because being vulnerable is scary and it might be easier to not let anybody else in. But some people aren’t meant to be just passing by. Maybe when they open their eyes, they can learn things about themselves they haven’t known before. If they let their hearts speak they will find a way to be together.
Or the one where Harry doesn't even know he's into guys until he meets Louis on a boat trip. There's something more to their friendship but it ain't gonna be smooth sailing.
Rivers 'Til i Reach You by embodied (29k)
Louis can’t begin to understand how he’s always this close and still can’t manage to make Harry his. He stands up and gets another beer.   AU. Louis studies astronomy; Harry studies Louis. They spend their summers on the water and it shouldn't be complicated (spoiler: it is).
You Promised Forever by indierection (amandamoraisa) (21k)
[Harry wants a baby. Louis wanted a baby. Now he's not so sure.]
Of course they've always wanted to have kids, even as young as they were in 2012. But it's only ten years later, when they've been married for already three and One Direction is no longer together, that Harry and Louis will finally get to start their own family. Or at least that's what they thought, because Louis suddenly feels the pressure of fatherhood on his shoulders as he realizes he has to be responsible for another human being; and if that's not terrifying he doesn't know what it is. He is, in fact, having these sudden panic attacks when he thinks too much about the future. Yet, Louis just sucks it up because he's losing his mind, but Harry has already to much on his. Besides, in the end they are fireproof. Aren't they?
The Sunshine Stays by QuickedWeen / @becomeawendybird (15k)
It's three years after One Direction got back together, and Harry and Louis have just come off a world tour. They're enjoying a much more relaxed schedule the second time around, allowing themselves to bask in married life. Until, one day, Louis surprises Harry on vacation, and there are some surprising consequences.

Ruben Dias x Reader - Summer Fling Part 9/10
Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5 Part 6 Part 7 Part 8
Tumblr media
Summary - Reader has landed a research job at a marine biology lab in Portugal. She is, therefore, staying with her sister and her sister's Portuguese boyfriend for the summer holidays. There she meets Ruben Dias who is on vacation with his friends after the 2024 Euros. However, the two meet under the circumstances in which Ruben believes that Reader is a prostitute.
Enjoy ☀️
The winds were rough just off the coast. The ocean waves caught Gavin's boat in a turbulent storm drifting you further and further away from land.
"Where are you taking me?" You held onto the railings on the upper deck, watching Gavin steer his yacht right into the epicenter of approaching gray clouds.
"Gibraltar!" He shouted over the sound of  waves slapping against the side of the yacht, whipping it side to side. "I'll take us as far as the mediterranean islands. Ever heard of Malta? I'm sure you'll love it there."
"You'll never get away with this!"
"You're damn right I won't, I just fucking shot a man." He laughed.
"Then why are you doing this?" I thought you were a marine biologist?"
"I am. But darling let me tell ya, it doesn't pay as good as my other passions."
"You mean pimping out girl's to rich men?"
Gavin shook his head, a sly grin on his lips as he stepped away from the wheel of the boat. You held onto the railings but backed off as he approached you.
"I should have known who you were when I first met you. You and your sister share the same gullible face. She came to me willingly, you know. Asking me for a job that would grant her stay in Portugal. You on the other hand would rather count fish at the zoo than let a man treat you for a night."
"A man maybe, but not you…"
He smiled, playing with the strap around his waist. The strap that carried his gun. "I was like you once. Young and naive, committed to my research in hopes of making the world a better place. Here is a newsflash for ya sweetheart, the world is a fucked up place and no matter how hard you try to get the bad guys to stop doing bad things, the bad guys always win. Especially those with pockets full of money."
"So that's it, you just decided to join them, become a bad guy yourself?"
He held out his arms, "I'm doing fairly well, aren't I? And trust me, I'm doing more for marine life than any of those stuck up scientists in the universities you praise. All they do is count seaweed samples while I'm out here doing the real heavy lifting.
"You mean taking advantage of young girls for your own benefit."
"For the ocean's benefit!" He shouted.
You lost your footing for a second, gripping your bubbling stomach. The rocking of the boat did nothing to mend your  rising seasickness.
"Do you know how much time and money I've put into developing the marine station? Sure, the university gave me the permit to build it. However, I'm the one funding every piece of equipment that allows the students to perform diligent research, practical research that doesn't just end up on a chart in some ecology majors powerpoint presentation. I'm trying to change the world Y/N and I really thought you would appreciate that. Perhaps even help me collect the funding like your sister does." Gavin reached out, caressing your trembling cheeks, his thumb tracing your lips. "You would've been my favorite out of all the girls."
You hunched forward, throwing up your last meal, which appeared to be milk and cornflakes. Gavin jumped out of the way not to stain his shoes. "For fucks sake."
He grabbed you by the arm, leading you downstairs into one of the suits. You fought him at first but let him get you out of your stained clothes. You were handed a towel to wipe your mouth while Gavin stood back, watching you with a predatory gaze, his hand reaching down to unzip his pants.
"No, wait."
He grinned, a cold grin that sent a shiver down your spine. It faltered however, with the sound of a drumming engine heard overhead.
"Fucking coastgards."
"Help, help. I'm down here. Help!"
"You shut your fucking mouth."
You winced. Gavin lunged forwards, slapping you across the face. He then drew his weapon, pressing the gun against the back of your neck. "One word." He gritted, pushing you out of the suit.
You came around the corner, expecting to come face to face with the local coast guards. However…
"Y/N!"
"Ruben!"
His eyes narrowed at the sight of Gavin, standing behind you with a gun to your back.
"Y/N are you alright—"
"Ah, ah, another step and she dies."
"Hey man." Ruben threw his hands up. "We don't want any trouble, the police are already on their way."
"We?"
Spotted in the corner of your eye, something came rushing towards you.
"Argh!" Gavin went down, hands covering his face.
"That's for Diogo." Maki threw the hammer she held aside, grabbing Gavin's gun that had slid away from him. He lay squirming in pain, blood gushing out from the wound in his head. "And this…" Maki stood over him, angling the gun. "...This is for my sister."
"Maki, no!" You rushed to stop her. "Don't do it. He's not worth it."
"He shot Diogo." She said, the gun trembling in her hand.
"Please." You pleaded. "I don't want to lose you. If you kill him, I will."
She fought herself, her finger hovering over the trigger.
"Please, Maki, don't do it."
Tears streamed down her face as she lowered the gun. You took it away, handing it to Ruben for safe keeping, pulling your sister into your arms.
"I'm so sorry." She cried. "This is all my fault. I'm so fucking sorry."
"I know. I'm sorry too."
The sirens from the police boats approached in the distance. What could have been had come to an end. You were safe.

I just thought of something very funny so I wrote it
Guess who's exhausted while writing again? That's right, me!!
Warning(s): mentions of stalking, not sure how good this is but hope you enjoy regardless
Tumblr media
You fell off a ship when you were young.
You don't remember much from after the sails set on fire. When you fell into the water, you must have passed out... and when you woke up, you saw... someone.
"Um, human... are you ok...?"
You remember what he looked like. You've held on to that memory, hoping to find him again some day.
And little did you know, he did the same. He wanted to meet with you again, but he just didn't know how he would do it!
And then one day he found something. A very old spell, as old as the legends of the Sea Witch...
A spell that could turn him human.
"Are you sure about this, Azul?" Jade asked as Azul prepared the spell that would turn him human. "This could be very dangerous."
"As cool as the Sea Witch was, her magic was no joke, Octy! Are ya sure you can handle this?"
"I'll be fine. It's all to see them again..." Azul sighed.
"Ah yes, (Y/N)." Jade laughed under his breath.
"You saw them once when you were a kid. Are you sure they're even still alive?" Floyd asked, looking at the spell ingredients.
"Oh, I've been sure to keep a close eye on them all these years." Azul happily said. "They look so beautiful nowadays!"
"Right, forgot you've been stalking them for the better half of twelve years." Floyd rolled his eyes. "Again. They were a human you met because they fell off a boat when you were five, Azul. Are they really worth turning human for? What if they don't like you back?"
"Ahahaha! You really are funny sometimes, Floyd! Don't like me back, I can't even imagine that!! We're meant for each other... I'm sure of it."
"Azul, before you go too far... you do remember the steep price of the Sea Witch's spells, right?" Jade asked.
"Ooh! Yeah, she didn't give any extra chances! One little slip-up and then you were polyp-ified!"
"I know the price. But, since I'm performing the spell on myself, I don't believe I'll have to worry about any consequences!"
"I guess there's no convincing you not to..."
"But if anything happens to you, it's your fault!"
"I know... and I'm ok with that."
But something unexpected happened.
Something clearly went wrong.
The twins rushed their friend up to the surface, and helped him to the shore.
Azul coughed up water, and had planned to say something about how he had no idea the sea could be so unaccommodating to the creatures of the land, but then...
"Hm? What's with that face, Azul?" Jade asked. "Is something wrong?"
"Your throat hurt or somethin'? And why aren't you talking?"
Jade and Floyd stared at Azul for a while. Then they looked at each other, then back at Azul. And in a rare moment of perfect synchronization, yelled out
"WAIT, YOU CAN'T SPEAK ANYMORE?!"
Azul nodded, embarrassed.
"Azul! This is why we were trying to warn you against using this spell!" Jade sternly said, his hand on his forehead.
"First things first: we told you so. Secondly, according to the spell, you've only got three days to get that human you like to give you a kiss of true love! Otherwise, it's back to your mer form and polyp-ification for you!" Floyd yelled. "Well... I guess there's no Sea Witch around to enforce the polyp thing... but still! Unless you want to be stuck on land, suffocate, dry out, and die, then you'd better get that human to fall in love with you, Azul!"
"I'd suggest you pretend that you haven't been stalking them for twelve years." Jade suggested. "It's hard to imagine they'd willingly kiss you if you admitted to that."
"Maybe just pretend you're some normal, mute human!" Floyd suggested. "I mean... it's not really like you can tell 'em otherwise."
"You two stay here, I'll go find some kind of cloth we can fashion into human clothing." Jade said. "Floyd, please make sure Azul doesn't drown himself."
"Hey, no promises, Jade~!"
You were walking along the beach one day, when you saw someone out in the distance.
You ran towards the person, since they were stumbling around like they were injured. You should help them!
"Hey, uh... are you ok?" You asked when he was close enough to hear.
He had beautiful grey hair and blue eyes. He also was wearing the torn up remnants of a ship's sails as an outfit.
"...d-did you hear me?" You asked. "Are you ok?"
He slowly walked towards you, and fell forwards, his head resting on your chest.
"Wha-?! Are you ok?! Sir, are you ok?!" You yelled in a panic.
For a second, you swore you heard a voice from the water say "Take good care of him, please."
But when you looked to the sea, no one was there.
...
Is this guy asleep on your chest?!
"I guess I just... take him home...?"
You didn't know, but your life would become much more interesting with this guy around.
He woke up when you got back to your home.
The servants cleaned him up and prepared clothes that were better than the nearly destroyed cloth he was wearing.
You learned a lot about him. He can't speak, for one, but he was able to write his name down for you. His name was Azul. You don't know who he is, or why he washed up on the shore, the best you could understand was that he was probably in some kind of shipwreck.
He was nice, but... something just felt off about him.
You also heard weird whispers whenever you were out by the sea.
You decided to take him for a tour of the city the next day, you thought he'd enjoy it. And he did! He looked so happy the whole time!
Little did you know, however, the only reason he was so happy was because you, the love of his life, were right there beside him.
Late into the night, you took him for a ride in a rowboat, to a secret place only you know about. And the whole time, you swore you heard two people singing from the water.
And the day after that, Azul tried to kiss you.
You like him and all, but... not like that.
You avoided him the rest of the day after that.
And the day after that...
"Azul, I'm sorry about what happened last night..." You said, knocking on the door to the guest bedroom.
"(Y/N)... don't come in, please..." You heard a voice say from the other side of the door.
"Azul, i-is that you? Are you speaking?!" You asked. "What's going on?!"
"Nothing! Just please get me some water... and don't come in here! Just leave it at the door, ok?"
"Is everything alright in there?" You asked.
"Yes! I'm fine! Just don't come in!"
"I'm coming in, something's definitely wrong." You said, before opening the door.
And then you saw him standing there.
Azul... wasn't human.
"AH! (Y-Y/N)! Please don't look at me..." He said, shielding his face with his arms.
His legs weren't legs, they were tentacles, like an octopus would have... he was a merman.
He looked so familiar.
"...it's you." You said.
"Huh?"
"I remember you!" You yelled. "You saved me! H-how are you here right now?!"
"...you remember me...?" Azul asked, a blue blush on his face. "From... from when you fell off that ship...?"
"Yes! You're the one who saved me, right? You look so familiar..."
"Yes, that was me..." He admitted. "It's... getting hard to breathe... say, could you please hurry and get me water?"
"Oh! Yes of course!"
Azul breathed a sigh of relief when you left the room. So many things are going well this morning! You remember who he is, you know why he looks familiar, you weren't completely repulsed by his true form, and most importantly...
You didn't find out that he basically stalked you for twelve years!

Winner of Hearts
a/n: this late upload was not planned I'm so sorryyyy, but updates will be like everyday again so yay. and get your tissues ready.
Tumblr media
 Next week quickly turned into 2 months. One Direction was in the Finals. Over the past few months the band had become a family., with you all deciding to stay in your tiny room over splitting up. You couldn’t imagine life without all 5 boys in it. Of course the nicknames stuck and you really enjoyed each of the boys having their own nickname for you - though you think they liked it more than you.
“Hey bug, can I draw you?”
“Bow, why are you still in bed?”
“Only Petal can have my food.”
“Bear? Can you play with my hair?”
“Oi! Bunny’s cheating! How does she always win?”
 Bentley and Beverly came to visit with your Nan and Pap a few times. You were so proud of how far Bev had come in her schooling and was soon gonna be an apprentice for some designers. Bentley had changed career paths and decided being a model was truly what he wanted to do. He had the looks, and the height, he just needed the connections. He had one job for a local clothing shoppe that you made sure Bev sent you pictures of.
The bakery was even better. Nan and Pap had got so many people to come in (they know it was because of you) that they had to hire people to help around. They still did most if not all the baking but they definitely had help and you were thankful. They were only in their late 40s, (47) after having your mom when they were 16, and then your mom having you when she was 16. They were around the same age as the other mothers in the band, but to you it felt like they had lived two lives.
Being able to go out and see everyones old lives was a special moment for all of you. You were glad something was arranged for Niall after the weather prevented from you all heading to Ireland. Louis' old school definitely was the biggest surprise. He had you stay by his side the whole time claiming ‘ I need my best friend by my side’. And you were more than happy to be there with him and the rest of the boys.
Seeing where Harry grew up was so special. Over the course of the past two months you had definitely gained feelings for him and Niall and it seemed to you that they were in the same boat, but you knew it wouldn't go anywhere for a long time. Harry made sure you and Niall were holding onto him as the mass of people around his front drive were mad. You and Niall found a picture of baby Harry and asked the fan if you could steal it, to which they screamed and showed the paper into your hands. You knew how much Harry missed his mum and Robyn and it was so special watching him reunite with them.
Next was your home town of Hazel Grove. You knew you wanted your first stop to be the bakery. Swarms of people - more than the other boys- were waiting outside of the bakery and as you and the boys stepped out the cheers could have made you go deaf. They were chanting your name and had signs of all different things, even baby pictures that you knew all the boys would try to sneak pictures of.
Seeing Beverly, Bentely, Nan, and Pap all together again was too much for you to handle. You knew that after this that there would be a ton more people waiting to get to this bakery. “A free pastry on me!” you yelled standing on a chair by the front doors to everyone who was standing around. “But only if you promise to come back!” They all screamed and laughed and the boys helped pass out pastries to everyone in line.
You finally made it to your cottage a little while away from the bakery and the boys marvelled at how perfect the cottage reminded them of you. The Williams parents had moved to Australia and had lost connection with the three of you, but Beverly and Bentely were unbothered as they knew your grandparents treated them like their own. After Beverly and Bentely helped show all of your baby pictures to the boys -especially Niall and Harry- you went and stayed in your room for the night before you were off to Bradford.
“Oh my god.” Zayn muttered next to you holding onto your hand tightly. You giggled at his reaction to all the people. Zayn’s outcome was so special knowing he was really a quiet kid and that seeing all these people where he used to go for fun was such a shock for him.
Last but not least, Wolverhampton. We had a gig there and Simon joined you guys for the last leg. The performance felt so real and it made you all really want to win this.
The next big thing after that was your birthday and the boys made sure to cause havoc on your birthday, starting by waking you up super early.
“HAPPY BIRTHDAY AUTY!” they all screamed pulling back the privacy protector. You knew they were going to pull something so you decided to get them back. “Except today isn't my birthday.” Your voice was scratchy and you saw all but two faces drop. “No today 9 December you were born, Bear.” Harry now whispering informed you. “Yeah Petal, today's your birthday. You’ve got a picture of you and Beverly with balloons and cake that say ‘9 Dec’.”
You couldn't help but smile and open your eyes to see all them smiling at you with party hats. “Thank you lads, but it's still dark outside.” you whispered with a shaky laugh at the end. They joined you laughing quietly. “I will ask you where you managed to find those party hats later. But right now i'm going back to sleep.” they all laughed and Liam, Zayn, and Louis kissed your head before getting back in their own beds. “Wait Petal.” Niall and Harry were now sitting at the edge of your bed. “We want you to open your gift now.” Harry handed you the small -decently- wrapped gift. You opened it sluggishly and smiled widely when you saw what it was.
“We remembered you saying you needed a new one. So we put our money together and got you one. Do you like it, Bear?” You looked at it in its full glory. A new bonnet for your hair… with Niall and Harry’s faces on it. “Where did you manage to get this?” you chuckled while switching it with the one you had on. “We’ll tell you later. Go back to sleep Petal.” They were getting ready to get up but you stopped them. “No, stay with me.” You slid into the middle of your small bed and patted either side of you. They each chose a side and you snuggled into them both while Harry pulled your blanket over you all.
A few hours later Liam and Louis woke Zayn up, and when they went to wake you up (you had to wake up Niall and Harry. They only ever woke up if it was you) they saw you with both boys heads snuggled into your neck and chest. “I'm calling it now. Those three are getting married.” Zayn pointed out and the L’s agreed. “Let them sleep a little longer.” Louis spoke softer than he would ever admit looking at the tiniest hint of smile on his best friend's face as her boys snuggled further into her. “Bunny, do we have a lot to catch up on.” he spoke to himself getting back in this bunk on top of you.
Then it was the Finals. The first performance was so exhilarating. Seeing the winter wonderland come together and hear all the harmonies under the solos. It was perfect. The second performance was even more magical, being able to do a duet with Robby Williams was even better. You all sounded so good and looked even better in your best dressed.
But, besides everything joyful outside of X-Factor, inside was getting more serious.
It was the morning of 12  December and you were all sitting between you and louis bunk, and Harry and Nialls. “We’ve come so far… what happens to us if we don’t win?”
The topic had never been discussed yet and by the way everyone's face turned, you knew it was one that needed to be held.
“I guess because we made it so far I didnt think about what happens after.” Liam offered up as everyone was sitting in silence. “So what do we do if we don't win?”
“We stay together.” Harry spoke up with no hesitation. You looked up at him to see the desperation in his eyes and softly pulled his head into your shoulder, you knew he needed comfort in this situation. “We stay together.” you confirmed and you felt Niall's head nod against your lap while looking at Liam and Louis also nodding their heads.
“Then we have a final performance to get ready for.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~
“We are so so happy to be in the final. It’s unreal. We can't believe we're here.” You all sat around Liam as he spoke.  “It's kinda crazy to believe we all came in as soloists. So much time has passed.” You added on.
“I think if we won our lives would change forever and we’re ready for our lives to change.”
You and Liam had the first Solos
I thought I saw a girl brought to life
She was warm, she came around like he was dignified
She showed me what it was to cry
Well you couldn't be that man that I adored
You don't seem to know, or seem to care what your heart is for
I don't know him anymore
Then you all sang together for the last chorus
I'm all out of faith
This is how I feel
I'm cold and I am shamed
Lying naked on the floor
Illusion never changed
Into something real
I'm wide awake and I can see the perfect sky is torn
You're a little late
I'm already torn
Torn
You walked down the stairs and when you all got down you couldn't help but hug each other like it was the last time. As the judges talked the audience cheered the band's name and you couldn’t help but smile. “Only formed a few months ago, you know, pretty much put together for this show, and knowing now you're all best mates. How does it feel to be here on Finals night, Louis.”
You looked at your best friend from across the group as he answered. “You know it's an absolute honour to be here and that song that we did, it was the first song we ever did together. It was- it was just great. Perfect.”
Dermot had watched the live stream from Louis' hometown of Doncaster and everyone was screaming to vote for One Direction.
````````
“Please lets welcome back the finalists and the judges.” You walked out when Dermot called you guys and the anxiety in your chest made you want to run back to the dressing rooms. You stood next to Niall and Zayn and could feel them both fidgeting while Dermot talked. “I will now tell you the two acts with the most votes and will compete head to head for the X-factor title. The act who has received the fewest votes, finishing third, will be leaving the competition tonight. Good luck to everyone.”
You could feel everyone holding their breath around you. “The first act going through to the next stage of the final is…”
You were happy that Matt got through, but that meant you were only one spot away from staying or going.
“So, One direction and Rebbeca. One of you has made it into the top two. And one of you has received the fewest votes from the public and is out of the competition.” You held your face in your hands anxiously and Louis reached over to comfort you the best he could.
“The second act who will be in the final is… Rebbeca.”
You didn’t know what to do. You all just stood there before the cheers around told you that Rebbeca had won, and she was a friend. You all walked over to her to congratulate her before Dermot was calling you back. “We're gonna talk to you in a second but first let's watch your time on the X-factor.”
You could barely watch through the tears. The blurry images of all you coming in as soloist to when you were put into the band flashed first. You guys getting through the judges round and your first Live performance, followed by all of your excursions and meeting Emma Watson and your final performances. Louis and Zayn hugged you a little harder when they saw you wipe your tears.
“I can tell by all of your faces you're absolutely gutted, but how has this experience been for you?” Since Louis was closest he answered first. “It's been absolutely incredible. For me the highlight was when we first sang together at the Judge’s House. It was incredible and unbelievable and you know we’ve done our best, we worked hard." Everyone cheered at Louis' answer and Dermot moved onto you.
“Autumn, the only girl in a boy band.” that gave you a laugh and Zayn shook you softly as a tease. “What's gonna happen to One Direction now?”
You looked at all the boys before answering.
“We’re definitely gonna stay together, and this isn’t the last of One Direction.”

A World of Pure Imagination
Author's Note: Get ready because this is the longest chapter!
Side note: I saw Wonka at my college theater two nights ago (March 24th. It was my sixth time seeing the movie), and I was so ecstatic to experience it a second time in a theater! It was so much fun watching it with others in my college, they all really enjoyed it too!
Side Note 2: The moment in the GIF when Willy tells Noodle that she did teach him to read was so sweet. He’s so adorable! 🤧♥️
Hope you enjoy this chapter! ♥️
Chapter 13: Operation Change the World
Tumblr media
The couple walked all throughout town, talking about what they would do to make sure The Chocolate Cartel and Scrubbit and Bleacher were locked up for good. Willy told Yin about his theory about the rings Slugworth and Noodle owned. Yin told him that he figured out who poisoned the chocolate. Willy told him that he knew because the Chocolate Cartel told him when everyone left after the shop was burned down.
Soon, the sun came up. A new day has started. The two young men were getting closer to the wash house.
"Are you ready to change the world, my dear?" Willy asked Yin.
Yin looked at Willy. "Do you promise it will work?"
"I Pinkie Promise." Willy stuck out his pinky, and Yin did the same, hooking their pinkies together. As they did, Willy frowned a little.
"What's wrong, babe?" Yin asked.
"Oh, Yin, I broke one of our promises. I promised never to leave you alone again. And I did." He whispered.
"Aww, Willy." Yin cooed. "You didn't break your promise. You came back. You came back to me. That's what matters."
Willy still looked a little guilty. "Really?"
"Really really." Yin chuckled.
That brought out a soft laugh from Willy. "I don't deserve you, gumdrop."
Yin blushed lightly at the nickname but smiled. "I don't deserve you, either. You're so amazing."
Willy smiled.
Then, Yin got an idea. "How about we make a promise... together?"
"What would we promise?" Willy asked curiously.
"To love each other always."
Willy chuckled. "We don't have to make a Pinkie Promise for that. I'll always love you."
Yin blushed. "And I'll always love you."
Despite them not needing to make a Pinkie Promise, they did. As they hooked their fingers, Yin brought their hands closer, and he kissed Willy's pinky finger. The chocolatier gasped softly at the intimate action, blushing lightly. But he smiled sweetly and did it back, kissing Yin's pinky.
The couple giggled, and they made their way to enact their plan, still holding pinkies.
(Time skip)
After getting everyone together, Wonka described the plan he came up with while swimming in the cold water after escaping the boat explosion. They were going to use their talents. Noodle, the ingenious orphan, Abucus the Accountant, Piper the Plumber, Lottie the Telephone Exchange Operator, Larry the Man Who Can Speak Underwater, and as Willy lovingly dubbed Yin, His Determined Chocolate Partner. So they could pull off what Wonka called "The Heist of the Century."
Change the world, he said.
As they others walked to start their plan, Noodle and Yin held back momentarily. The pair hugged each other.
"Thank you for coming back for me." Noodle said.
"Of course. I could never leave you. You're my best friend." Yin told her.
Noodle smiled at the sweet boy. "Come on. Let's go help your boyfriend." She teased.
Yin laughed. "He is my boyfriend."
Noodle nodded. "By the way, nice attack on Bleacher. You left a bruise."
Yin chuckled, smirking playfully. "I try."
(Transition)
The game was afoot.
First, they had to go to the cathedral. They had to trick the priest, Father Julius.
As he stopped at the entrance of the cathedral, Noodle, dressed as a beggar, approached him.
"Excuse me, sir, could you spare a piece of chocolate for a straving orphan?"
Father Julius replied, "I'm sorry, my child. I don't have any."
Noodle acted sad, sighing.
He turned secretly, eating a piece. While he wasn't looking, Noodle snuck up behind him. "Then have some acacia mints." She whispered to herself as she slipped the candy into his pocket.
"Yes." She muttered in success.
Meanwhile, at the zoo, the security guard eyed another Big Night Out chocolate, which was delivered with a note.
"Basil Bond, Employee of the Week! That's lovely..." He put the chocolate into his mouth and passed out. Willy, Yin, and Abucus slip into the security lodge and grab some van keys.
Abucus drove the tall and rickety zoo transport van. In the back, Willy and Yin tended to the giraffe.
"Everything alright back there?" Abucus asked the couple.
"Everything's fine, isn't it, Abigail?" Willy asked the giraffe as he petted her to soothe her. Yin giggled when Abigail snorted in response.
They were approaching a low bridge.
"Oh! Tell her she might want to duck." Abucus warned.
"Might want to what?" Willy asked.
"Duck!!" Abucus exclaimed.
Abigail ducked as the tall van just scrapes under the bridge. She came back up with a shake of her head. Yin petted her. "Good girl." He praised.
Abucus parked the van in a deserted alley. Yin slowly guided Abigail to the front of the cathedral.
"All right. You ready, Abigail?"
The giraffe snorted, nudging her snout against Yin's face. Yin chuckled. "I'll take that as a yes." He gave her a scratch underneath her chin. "Now, go get them." He encouraged as he ran back to the van.
"All set." He said as he got back intot he back of the tall van. "Good job, my dear." Willy said, kissing his cheek, making Yin smile.
(Transition)
Everyone went back to the zoo, waiting for Larry to get a call after Lottie directed Julius to the zoo, to do their next part of the plan. Willy, Yin, Noodle, Abucus, and Piper stand around Larry.
He gets the call. "Hello, zoo?"
The rest of the group started to make various animal noises. Piper did an elephant, Abucus did a snake, Noodle did a bird noise. Meanwhile, Yin growled and snarled like a tiger or tried to, as Willy's very accurate impression of a monkey was making him slip a little. He had to resist laughing.
"Quiet down, you animals!" Larry exclaimed. "You too, octopus." He added in his underwater voice. "What? Oh, yeah, I think we did lose a giraffe."
Everyone was still doing their impressions, but more quietly. Yin gave up and was just snickering into his hand.
Okay, geez, I'll send the guys around." Larry hung up. Everyone stopped and looked at Larry. He gave them the okay. Their plan worked.
The wash house workers got into disguises, while the main trio got into the back.
"Nice tiger impression." Willy told Yin, laughing a little.
"Be lucky I wasn't an actual tiger." Yin playfully said, with a gentle smirk.
"Please don't bite me." Willy backed away, but still smiling like an idiot. Yin shrugged. "All right."
The group drove the tall van back to the cathedral. Abucus, Piper and Larry took the tall crate into the cathedral, opening it.
"All clear." Abucus signaled.
The main trio popped out from underneath the hay and got out of the crate. Abucus pulled the lever in the confession stall, activating the elevator. Yin slipped a Big Night Out chocolate on the seat before he got on top of the elevator, followed by Willy and Noodle.
They get down to the bottom, where the crypt is. The Mistress of the Keys looks up, surprised to see the elevator door open with no one inside. She approached it cautiously, only seeing the chocolate with a note.
"With thanks for all your hard work, Father Julius and the Chocolate Cartel." She read. "Oh that's sweet." She eats the chocolate.
Before the trio knew it, she hit the white wine and red wine layers, and she started to sing and dance. The song was one that Yin recognized as the one Cartel would sing to anyone they were bribing people with chocolate. He had to admit, the song was catchy, but for the wrong reasons.
"Wow. She can really move." Willy muttered.
Yin and Noodle gave Willy a side eye look and Yin poked his side.
"Watch it, pretty boy." He warned playfully.
Noodle snickered quietly at Yin's "warning".
Willy only smiled softly. "Don't be jealous, marshmallow. You're the only one for me." He muttered sweetly. Yin smiled shyly.
The Mistress of the Keys hit the whiskey fudge layer and got upset. She called someone on the phone; it turned out to be Basil, the zoo security guard. The trio were surprised.
"What are the chances?" Noodle whispered. Willy and Yin agreed.
After the call, the lady passes out. The coast was clear. Willy slipped out from the gap above, landing on the floor. Yin followed after, then Noodle.
They walk to the vault. Noodle snatched the keys and unlocked the lock. Then, Yin and Willy turned the handle, and the vault door opened, revealing the inside of the vault.
"Cool!" Noodle exclaimed.
"It is, isn't it?" Yin asked.
"Now, we have to find that ledger." Willy said as he placed his cane onto he ground, turning it into a hanger, before hanging his coat and hat on it.
Noodle and Willy started to look around. Yin stayed back. "Hold on. One of us should be back up there. To keep watch."
Willy knew where this was going. "Yin, I can't let you do that." He said worriedly, approaching the boy. Yin cupped Willy's cheek. "I'll be alright. Besides, I can run and get help if something goes wrong. Besides, the Cartel probably thinks I ran away after you "left" last night."
"You do make a clever point there, my dear Yin." Willy agreed. "All right. But please, gumdrop, be careful." He kissed Yin's nose.
Yin chuckled and did it back. "I will. Find that ledger." He said. After that, he pulled away and went back to the elevator and got in. He pushed the button to go up. As it did, he played his hands and feet on the sides and climbed up to the roof of the elevator to hide himself.
As the elevator stopped, it opened, and he hoped no one would investigate it or see his magenta coat peeking out from above as he held himself up.
The elevator door closed after a few agonizing seconds, and he sighed with relief. He climbed down and sat on the seat, waiting to hear anything suspicious.
After a few minutes, he heard Julius talking to someone. His ears pricked up when he heard him name drop Slugworth.
'Oh no.'
Then, he heard many cars approaching as the people in the cathedral were forced to leave. Yin took this opportunity to leave the elevator and blend in with the chaos.
As he neared the entrance, he heard a click behind him.
"Stay where you are."
That voice. That familiar, slimy voice. Yin gulped nervously and turned to see who it was.
"You."
(Transition)
Willy and Noodle searched the vault to find the ledger.
"Anything?" Willy asked.
"Nothing!" Noodle replied.
"Well, keep looking." Willy continued his search.
"It's not in here, Willy."
"Abucus said that it was here."
"Abucus has been in the wash house for the past four years. Maybe all of the scrubbing has gone to his head. Cause all that's down is a bunch of stupid old chocolate!" Noodle chugged a box of 'Slugworth' chocolate at the wall.
When it did, it opened a secret panel. Noodle steps over to it, and in the open panel, was the green ledger.
"Willy, look!"
Willy came over.
"We did it, Noodle. Got them."
Just as they were about to celebrate, a gunshot sounded in the vault. They turn around and see the three chocolatiers standing in the doorway. Slugworth has fired into the air. He slowly stepped forward, his gun raised.
As surprised as the duo were, what made them freeze in horror was the sight of Yin, tied by his wrists with a necktie, being held begrudgingly by Fickelgruber.
"Yin!" They exclaimed in horror.
Slugworth smirked evilly. "Naughty, naughty, Mr. Wonka. You've caused us quite a bit of trouble."
He turned to look at the tied up Yin. "We caught your little partner trying to escape the cathedral. I thought he wouldn't be of any trouble, but he has more drive than we gave him credit for."
Yin struggled in Fickelgruber's arms, but he held him in a tight hold. He looked at his boyfriend and best friend, guilt evident on his face.
"Him and your... urchin."
Willy, despite the situation, stood tall. "But she isn't just an urchin, is she, Mr. Slugworth? You're family."
Noodle and Yin looked at Willy in confusion. "What? What are you talking about, Willy?" Noodle asked.
"You know that ring? The one you got from your parents? Well, Mr. Slugworth has one just like it, don't you, Mr. Slugworth?"
Noodle looked at the ring in surprise.
Slugworth stepped forward. "As a matter of fact, I do. That belonged to my brother. Zebedee."
Noodle looked at Slugworth. "Was he my father?"
"A hopeless romantic is what we was. Fell in love with a common little bookworm, but died before they could marry, leaving me sole heir to the family fortune, or so I thought..."
Slugworth went on to explain that nine months later, a woman came to his door, asking for help for her newborn. That newborn was Noodle. He agreed but instead threw baby Noodle down a laundry chute where Mrs. Scrubbit found her and named her Noodle. She saw the ring, thinking it was an N, but really, it was a Z.
When the mother returned, Slugworth told her she died, making the woman howl in sadness. But, he paid her and escorted her from his property.
As Yin listened, he felt sadness and anger well up in him. Sadness for his best friend. She didn't deserve anything that happened to her. Anger because it was Slugworth who caused her misery. He struggled again, lowly growling, but Fickelgruber held him tigher.
Noodle, with tears in her eyes, asked, "What was her name?"
"Eh?"
"My mom? What was her name?"
Slugworth thought about it. "Ooh. Now let me see, umm... No, I don't think I can remember that. I'm sorry. But you have to understand, she was very poor."
Fickelgruber retched.
"Sorry, Felix." Slugworth said.
Yin scoffed, shaking his head.
"Her name was Dorothy. Dorothy Smith. It says so, right here." Willy read the ledger.
"Dorothy?" Noodle whispered, smiling softly. Yin gasped softly. "Willy.." He whispered.
"Well, what do you know? I guess you did teach me to read, after all."
Noodle smiled at the eccentric chocolatier. Yin smiled as well, happy for his boyfriend.
"Well, this is all very touching, but back to business. We'll take that." He gestured to the ledger.
Fickelgruber roughly pushed Yin onto the ground. The action caused Yin to yelp and land on his hands and knees. Before he could do anything, Prodnose grabbed a hold of his bound hands, holding him in place. Fickelgruber took he ledger from Willy and returned it to the secret compartment.
"How much chocolate have you got at your factory, Fickelgruber?" Arthur asked.
"About eighty thousand gallons." Felix replied.
"Prodnose?"
"And I've got one fifty. Should be just about enough." Gerald replied.
"For what?" Noodle asked.
Slugworth smirked evilly. "Death by chocolate."
Yin's eyes widened in horror. "No!" He exclaimed, trying to escape.
Arthur pointed his gun at Yin. "Silence, brat."
Yin panted softly, seething with anger and desperation.
"Gerald, deal with this urchin." He gestured to Yin.
Gerald dragged the struggling Yin towards the entrance of the vault as Yin watched Willy and Noodle ushered into the chocolate tank. He looked at Gerald as he proceeded to bind Yin's ankles with a few cloth napkins. He could hear the others talking as he spoke to him. He knew negotiating with Prodnose was hard because he was almost as willing as Arthur to rid the competition. He struggled with the man, moving around a lot. Prodnose had to hold his legs down to keep him still.
Once he finished, Yin looked at Gerald and growled at him. Gerald stepped back, scared of Yin. He saw Fickelgruber walk towards the controls of the tank, Prodnose joining him.
"Let them go! You're going to kill them?! Just because Willy can make better chocolate than any of you can in your lives?!" Yin exclaimed in anger.
Arthur closed the tank door and pointed his gun at the young man again. "That man would've put us out of business. We can't have that. So, this is a necessary precaution. We gave him many warnings before but he didn't listen. So, this is the best thing we could do." He said, a sickly smirk on his face.
"You all are monsters."
Arthur only chuckled darkly, and together, the three turned three handles, presumably to release their chocolate to fill the tank.
As they turned to leave, walking past Yin, not caring that they were taking two innocent lives, Yin growled at them.
"Mark my words, you greedy, spiteful slugs, I will make sure you three are held accountable. I don't care how long it takes. You won't get away with this."
Arthur looked at the boy one more time. "Oh, Yin, we already have."
With that, they left.
Yin growled and struggled against his binds. They were really tight. He fiddled with the cloth bindings. He growled and used his teeth to undo the binding around his wrists. Eventually, they came undone, freeing his hands.
With his hands now free, he untied the cloth around his ankles. Once his ankles were free, he got up from the floor and ran towards the chocolate tank, pounding the door.
"Hold on, guys! I'll save you!"
He started to turn the handles, trying to turn off the chocolate. They weren't moving.
"Come on!" He said, his voice shaky.
After a minute, nothing budged. Yin yelled in frustration.
He was not going to give up. He won't lose the people he loves the most. Not again.
"Well, I was certainly not expecting to see Mr. Wonka's partner here."

Since Treasure Planet is my favorite Disney movie and didn't get the love it deserved, I decided to write this translation, which I've really enjoyed writing, since I ✨ADORE✨ Jim.

You have just arrived on a planet where the weather was not… the best… Don't get it wrong, you love the rain, but it is very dangerous to go boating while the storm is raging, meanwhile, you and your cadet friend Jim were inside the big hull, sitting in a sailboat. Jim was very upset since he warned Captain Amelia and Silver that it would be a bad idea to come to this planet. They ignored him. And you understand their anger.
-Well, here we go again. - he pronounces annoyed for the fourth time that day.
-What did I tell you? I knew it would be a bad idea to come to this planet. And what happened? A storm. - He sighs trying to calm down. - I told them already, if only they would listen to me! - he growls angrily as he walks.
-We wouldn't be in this situation if they would just listen to me. - he sighs again. - But they won't. Because they only see me as a child, that's what I'll be to them, a child. - He says indignantly and sulkily as he sits down abruptly on the sailboat.
-Well… I don't see you as a child. You're smarter than you look. - you say with a smile as you delicately sit down in front of him.
-Thank you, I appreciate it. You're probably the only one who thinks that way about me. - he says smiling the same way you do.
-The only one? No one else? - You ask laughing as you shake your head at the second question.
-Yes. - He says looking at you while you are surprised. - I mean, my mother, don't get me wrong! I love her…but… I feel like she doesn't trust me…. - he says pausing for a moment.
-You know, I can't do anything without her worrying, and yeah. That's what a mother would do, isn't it? I mean…I'm her only child but…I just…I want to explore the world and stuff. I know how fast and gigantic the universe is… I just want to see every part of it. - looks up at you to let out a sigh. There was a slightly awkward silence for a few moments, but Jim continued the conversation.
-I never thought I'd be on an adventure like this. - he says, trying to defuse the situation.
-I probably didn't think I'd be on this adventure either. - you look amused, laughing a little.
-You too? - he says answering surprised, laughing softly.
-That makes two of us. I'm glad we can relate to each other in some way. - he says, laughing with you. But now he brings up another topic of conversation.
-So. What are we going to do now that this storm is happening? - He asks you to answer honestly.
-Whatever shit Silver's got on his mind- you end up saying, scratching your head.
-Yeah… Silver has no good idea. - replies to the comment about the old cyborg.
-What do you think he's going to do? I mean I'd love to know your opinion. - you ask with a mischievous grin.
-My guess? - he says looking at you with his arms behind his head, as you nod your head. - He's probably going to try to make us wait until he's finished. I don't think this is going to clear up for the next few days. - he replies leaning back with his eyes closed.
-What do you mean? - you ask in a confused and frightened tone, nothing good is going through that old cyborg's head. He opens his eyes slowly and stands upright again.
-What, what am I trying to say? Oh, that we're stuck here, tch. If the storm doesn't clear up…. - he thinks and proceeds to close his eyes, he was really tired. - I don't think it will clear up for a while at least, so we could just relax, and make ourselves comfortable, with nothing else to do. - He replies.
-Sounds good to me. - You smile since Silver has been blowing you guys up since day one, a little rest is appreciated. But you change your mind to ask him something that has been on your mind since this morning, he's not usually so loose, something's wrong with him? It seems as if he is thinking about something. So you worry about him and ask him.
-Jim? - he opens only one eye and looks at you.
-How have you been feeling lately? - you ask, looking at him seriously but with affection and understanding.
-How have I been feeling? I don't know, some days I feel good… and other days I feel trapped… - he says as he looks down at his hands.
-I feel like even if I wanted to take over the ship… I wouldn't even know where to go. - He looks into your eyes with confidence but it reflects how broken he is inside.
-I want to do the right thing and I want to make the right decision. I mean, I don't want to hurt anyone… I don't want to disappoint anyone either, I just feel like I've been a big disappointment. - He says sadly looking away, you nod understanding his feelings and how he feels.
-I can't make him happy. I can't make her happy. I can't make anyone happy. I can't even make myself happy. - already as he finishes he looks at you sadly. You felt horrible for knowing how he feels, but you really appreciate that he's confident enough to tell you what he's going through. - So… here I am… Just here. - To break your heart even more, he puts on a sad smile as he plays with his fingers to calm the anxiety.
-You know… - he looks you in the eyes and you walk over to the side he's sitting on. - You really do. You make me very happy. - you sit down next to him and now smiling next to him.
-Do I make you happy? - he says now with a little lift in his spirits. - Oh come on, you don't have to say that. - he laughs a little, looking away to hide the rosy color on his cheeks.
You just nod your head, you really weren't lying, you've learned so much and had so much fun with him that how could you not be fond of him?
-Really? - he asks you again to make sure. And you nod again.
-Yes? - He asks again, to which you say YES again. -Okay. Well… You make me happy too. - he confesses looking at you with his blue orbs and smiling with a blush on his cheeks.
- Really? - you ask surprised, excited, smiling, and blushing. You are thrilled that the feeling is mutual.
-Yes, you do. - he says laughing a little at your reaction. - I mean. - He takes a breath and calms down. - Sometimes you can be a little bossy …and… you always want to be right. - he finishes intuiting what you were going to say annoyed.
-That's a lie. - you jump at him while crossing your arms.
- Yes! You always want to be right. - he says again, stinging you and being sincere.
- That's not true. - Indignant, you look at him angrily.
- Yeah. Right. Whatever helps you sleep at night - He says resignedly with his shoulders. Now you could only hear the sound of loud lightning and rain, the atmosphere was quite nice, if you can describe it that way. Jim stares at you for a few moments and while smiling, opens his left arm in welcoming mode.
-Come here. - He welcomes you warmly in his arms and you settle your head on his shoulder, he imitates you and rests his head on yours. You felt a feeling that you missed… Feeling at home. His embrace gave so many appreciative vibes to your being, you just smiled along with him. His vanilla and coconut smell was comforting like eating something warm on a cold day, that made you relax enough to settle more into him.
-Thank you. - he says smiling while stroking your hair. - I needed to hear that. It's just… sometimes I get stuck in my mind and I don't know who I am. -
- It's normal to feel that way. I understand. - You comfort him as you nod and he continues talking, running his hand through your hair.
- But, what I do know is that… as long as you're here, maybe one day… everything will make sense, you know…? - he sighs looking at your e/c eyes and you smile at him.
-Of course it will Jimbo. -
-Yeah, someday. -

FINLO GOING TO A REUNION WITH THE HARVARD HOCKEY TEAM AND GETTING MADE FUN OF BECAUSE THEY KEEP BRINGING UP LEO!! BONUS IF LEO IS IN NOLA AND POSTS LIKE A HOT PHOTO OF HIM ON THE BOAT OR SOMETHING
Why have a sweet, talented, sexy boyfriend if not to show him off?
Enjoy a smitten FinnLo missing their sunshine and a chaotic Harvard reunion!
All credits to @lumosinlove !!
“Sharmall!”
“A’Horo!”
Logan and Will Morgan shared a look as Finn and Percy did their usual crazy greeting, grabbing each other by the face and chattering nonsense. It didn’t matter that they were in a private room in a fancy restaurant in Boston- they would greet each other like that anywhere.
“How are you, Tremz?” Will greeted, drawing Logan in for a hug. “Summer treating you well?”
“Ouais, all good,” he replied.
Will’s eyes darted around the room. “Where’s your other half? Or, third I guess.”
Logan grinned and pulled out his phone. “Back in New Orleans visiting his mom and dad. Look, sent us a photo of the cove he likes when he was out on his boat.”
Will peered over Logan’s shoulder and let out a breath. “Damn. Damn, that’s gorgeous. You guys heading down?”
Logan nodded, a dreamy sort of smile on his face. “Oui, tomorrow. We fly out in the morning.”
“I know that face,” Percy interrupted. He took Logan by the shoulders. “That’s your ‘loverboy’ face. Were you talking about Finn?”
“Non, Leo. Was showing Will a picture of his cove down in Louisiana.”
Percy rolled his eyes good-naturedly. “Finn just showed me the same one. Saps, the both of you.”
Finn stuck out his tongue at Percy and wrapped an arm around Logan’s waist. “You’re just jealous.”
“Nuh-uh,” Percy whined. A love-sick smile broke out over his face. “I got a Cassie Baker.”
Will snorted. “No he does not.”
“Not yet. You just wait, William, you’ll see.”
Will whispered conspiratorially. “She still hasn’t agreed to go on a date yet.”
Percy narrowed his eyes. “We are going out as friends. I told you, just you wait, I’ll woo her.” He closed his eyes and smiled. “I’ll woo her, I promise.”
“Mon Dieu,” Logan said. “You’re so bad.”
“It’s Cassie Baker, Logan.”
“I know, Perce.”
“You’ve got a Finn and a Leo now!” Percy exclaimed. “You’re all set- it’s my turn to have a Cassie. Or for her to have me, I’m not picky.”
Finn laughed. “I think it’s a mutual thing.” He jerked his head to the bar. “Let’s go get a drink, ten. We’ll make the rounds.”
Logan was glad to have Finn by his side at events like this. Even more so now that they were together. Before, he and Finn had to do almost an equal amount of sharing about their lives, even if Finn was the one to break the ice with others. Now, their life was so intertwined that Logan didn’t need to say anything if he didn’t want to. He contributed the odd comment, but mostly let Finn take the lead with an arm wrapped around his waist. Finn didn’t let go of him at all, always a hand on him, as he caught up with their old teammates and shared bits of their adult lives.
Best of all, Logan thought, they now got to talk about Leo.
“Yeah, I don’t know either, Max,” Finn laughed. He was talking with Max and Nathaniel, two of their former teammates that had graduated the year before Finn. They were still roomates in a town in Massachussetts, working as teachers and high school coaches. “I asked his dad once, and he just said that they got lucky he had so many good players in the program at the time. Not much hockey in Louisiana.” Finn drew Logan in closer with a hand around his hip. “We’re pretty grateful, though.”
“I bet you are,” Max smiled. He had always had such a genuine smile, his eyes crinkling up at the corners. “You guys got any plans for the summer?”
“Well, we’re off to New Orleans tomorrow. Going to train there for a couple weeks, soak up the sun. Hot as hell, though, my God. You’d probably like it, actually.”
Nathaniel laughed. “He would. He still complains about the cold all winter, you wouldn’t believe.”
“Hey, I was raised in North Carolina. I was not prepared for the cold.”
Finn nodded eagerly and laughed. “Neither was Le. We brought him snowshoeing this past winter and he was not a fan.”
“I can imagine,” Max said.
They made their rounds in a similar fashion, discussing summer plans, sharing photos of their lives post-college. Some of their teammates were married, others had dogs, some were in grad school. It made Logan feel a little less out of place- hockey was love, and hockey was wonderful, but his life was so much more than that now. It felt good to tell people.
“And this was when we went to France last summer.” Finn was now talking with Will’s wife, Ray, about some of the food they had tried in their travels. She was a chef by trade, and was always curious. “Leo makes ratatouille all the time now, and the tuna there was to die for.”
Ray laughed. “You know, I don’t think I’ve heard how you two have been doing at all.”
“Quoi?” Logan asked, confused. It was some of the first he’d contributed to the conversation. “What do you mean?”
She smiled. “First we talk about vacation plans, and all you can talk about is New Orleans. Then we talk about food plans during the season, so I can get some ideas to help Will, and all I hear about is how good of a cook your Leo is- who I would very much like to meet officially, by the way. And even now, when I ask about the traditional cuisine you guys tried- because I’m trying to improve my French cooking repertoire for a client- all I hear about is how Leo recreated all the dishes at your house.”
Finn, for the first time all night, spluttered, blushing hard. “Well- we… sorry, sorry, we didn’t-”
Ray waved her hand. “It’s okay. He must be wonderful, if you talk about him like that.” She tilted her head. “Everyone deserves to have someone talk about them like that.” She laughed. “Or someones.”
“Well,” Logan said. “He’s- he is wonderful.” He shrugged. “C’est notre soleil.”
“What?” she asked.
“Sunshine,” Finn answered. He was still red, but smiling softly. “He’s our sunshine.”
“God,” Ray laughed. “You two are romantics. I wish Will talked about me like that.”
Logan smiled at her. “He does. All the time, he talks about you and your little Noah.”
She brightened. “Really?” Her eyes strayed somewhere over his shoulder, and Logan looked back to find her gazing at Will, who was laughing with the bartender. “Well, like I said. Everyone deserves someone like that.” She rapped her knuckles on the table they were standing beside. “Excuse me, boys. It was lovely to catch up.”
“Yeah,” Finn said. “Hey, we’ll meet for dinner next time we’re in the city, okay?”
Ray winked. “Count on it. And bring your sunshine, please.” She ran a hand down Logan’s shoulder and walked over and into Will’s waiting arms.
Logan watched them for a second fondly, then jumped a little as his phone buzzed in his pocket. He took it out and smiled up at Finn. “Soleil.”
“Oo,” Finn said eagerly. He kissed Logan’s forehead. “What’d he send? A sexy photo?”
Logan opened up their groupchat to find a picture of Leo driving his family boat, looking back over his shoulder to smile at the camera. He was laughing, sunglasses pushed up into his blonde curls in the dying evening light, tall and tan and so gorgeous that Logan’s heart just melted.
Mama insisted I send this to you, his message said. Went for an evening boat ride with her and dad. I love you, sweethearts, I hope you’re having fun at your party! Call me when you get to the hotel room. <3
Logan watched Finn’s unabashed smile creep over his face, the same one that he was sure he currently wore. Finn pushed a hand under Logan’s shirt, untucking it from his pants slightly to get at his warm skin. “Shit, he’s so gorgeous. We’re so lucky.”
“Ouais, we are,” Logan sighed. He leaned his head against Finn’s shoulder and leaned up to kiss his jaw. “I’m very lucky.”
Finn turned just enough to smile and kiss him softly. “Well, then, me, too.” He nudged their noses together. “I got you. I got you and some sunshine.”
“All the sunshine.”
“Yeah, all of it.” Finn sighed and looked at the photo again. “All of the sunshine.”
Logan laced their fingers together. “Want to go back and call him?”
Finn looked around the room and nodded. “I think we’ve done our rounds.” He ducked closer to kiss Logan a bit more firmly. “Time to say goodbye and have you both all to myself.”
“Ouais,” Logan laughed. “Ouais, let’s say goodbye.”
They said their goodbyes quickly and walked the few blocks back to the hotel they were renting. Immediately upon closing their room door behind them, they were unbuttoning their shirts and Finn clicked on Leo’s contact on their iPad, setting it against the pillows. Leo’s face, when he answered, was sun-kissed and happy, his smile enough to warm Logan through.
“Hi sweethearts,” he said. “Good party?”
“Ouais,” Logan answered. He looked to Finn’s lovestruck expression and knew he was thinking exactly the same thing. He turned back to Leo and smiled. “Ouais, soleil. But we missed our sunshine.” He settled himself more on top of the covers to get a full view of Leo’s sparkling blue eyes and white smile. “Allez,” he sighed happily. He was so, so in love. “We love you. We miss you and we love you so much. Now, tell us about your day.”

My Type
Part 3
Tumblr media
Christian Pulisic x reader
You have a chance encounter with Christian, who happens to be just your type.
Word count: 6950+
Requested: No
Warnings: Swearing, drinking, mentions of sex
Previous part: Part 2
A/N: Sorry, got a bit carried away...hope you enjoy 😊
You all make your way to the dock behind Christian's house, Alec and Nick taking the jet skis with a couple of the girls while the rest of you get onto the boat. You take a seat towards the back, behind where Christian is driving. He connects his phone to the speakers onboard as you set off and you smirk when you realize you do actually have very similar taste in music.
Everyone else is at the front of the boat, Christian turns and motions for you to come over and stand by him. You stand up and walk over to where he is standing, holding on to the handle next to you to steady yourself. Christian asks you a few questions in an attempt to get to know you better and you do the same. You lose your balance momentarily and he grabs you around the waist to steady you, silently cheering when you don't immediately pull away from him.
You pull up to a sand bar and he stops the boat, dropping the anchor and helping the others to tie off the jet skis to keep them from floating away. You hop off of the boat and swim for a few minutes before grabbing one of the paddle boards and setting off on your own. You distance yourself from the boat a little before laying down flat on the board to float and get some sun. Just as you are enjoying the peace and quiet, Nick paddles over to you on his own board and sits down, he places a hand on your board to keep you from drifting away from him.
"Y/N is it?" he asks as you give him a nod. "And you're, Nick right?" you ask him.
"Yeah, I am," he grins at you. "What are you doing over here by yourself?" he asks another question laying out on his own board. "Just enjoying the quiet" you smirk at him.
"Oh, well, sorry," he says shyly. "It's ok," you smile, "I'm assuming you're here as a wingman for your buddy."
"No, not really, I'm sure he's glaring at me from over there if I had to guess," he leans up and does indeed see Christian watching him, "yep, I was right" he laughs as you sit up and see for yourself.
"So what's the deal with him?" you ask him.
"Like is he single or?" he trails off.
"Well, I guess that would be good information, but, I'm assuming you're close to him, so, tell me about him, is he a nice guy? Be honest, please."
"He's a bit shy, and hard to read sometimes until you get to know him, but yeah, he's a good guy, he's busy, and not here much, but I've known him since we were kids, you should give him a chance, get to know him at least" he says turning to face you, "and he's painfully single" he chuckles.
"That's good to know" you smirk at him.
"You gonna tell me how he's your type" he grins at you.
"Nope" you smile back at him, letting out a little squeal when he acts like he's going to flip your board over. "Ok, ok, fine, it's not necessarily him, obviously he fits the type, but so do you, and your brother for that matter," you laugh as you see his shocked expression.
"Well, he called dibs, so you're stuck with him I guess," he grins back at you, "whatever will I do?" you say sarcastically. "I like you, y/n, you're exactly what he needs, someone that doesn't seem to give a shit who he is, so you've got my approval, just get to know him, you won't regret it" he says giving you a fist bump before paddling away.
"Ella," Christian says plopping down next to her, " "What am I going to have to do to get her to like me?" he says, watching as you stand up and paddle back towards the boat.
She laughs at his question, "She's bit of a tough one, Christian, but if you can get through those walls she's built up, she's really the sweetest and most caring person. She's my best friend, she bends over backwards to show people she cares, but she's not an easy one to get through to," she smiles at him. "Listen, just be honest with her, about whatever it is, she will come around, it just might take some time and effort, but she is worth it."
He nods and stands up, "thank you, I'll do my best." He dives off of the back of the boat and swims over to where you are now sitting on the paddle board. "Do you mind?" he asks as he gets close enough to drape his arms over the end of the board, smiling when you shake your head no at him.
You lay on your stomach facing him, your face only a few inches from his your arms brushing against his. You'd be lying if you said you couldn't feel the electricity flowing between the two of you, your eyes dancing over his features, while he did the same. You can't deny how attractive he is, water dripping from his hair, freckles dotted across his cheeks, and his eyes, his gorgeous eyes, it was all a bit intoxicating.
"Tell me about yourself," he says finally ending your silent stare off.
"What would you like to know?" you counter him.
"Well, what do you do for work?" he asks with a flicker of a smile.
"I'm a social media influencer," you say, your expression unchanged.
He cocks an eyebrow at you, causing you to let out a laugh, "my degree is in business administration and marketing, I work with a consulting company that helps start up companies with their initial business plans and launch of the company, which does in fact, mean a lot of work in social media campaigns," you smile back at him.
"But I thought guys like you always go for the influencer type, why did that seem to disappoint you?"
"Well, they tend to go after us, more often than not, and yes, they always seem to be in our social circles, but I don't know, it's hard to decide if they really like me, or the exposure I can give them."
"I see," you smile sympathetically towards him, "I can imagine that it's not easy for someone like you to be able to know someone's true intentions."
He shakes his head at you, one of his hands moving to trace lightly over your arm, the goosebumps that erupt on your skin noticed by both of you.
"What about you? Obviously, I know what you do for work, but what else do you like to do?"
"When I'm home, I do this, hang out with friends and my family, catch up with people I don't get to see very often, back in London, read, PlayStation, play guitar, play chess," he smiles at you.
"What's your job like, really? I can imagine it's not as easy as it seems like it would be?"
"No, it's not, lots of training, self discipline, and pressure to perform at a high level consistently, it's hard not getting in your own head sometimes," he shakes his head.
"It's nice to be in one place for several weeks at a time, we travel so much that I feel like I'm barely at home in London."
"I get that," you smile, "I travel a lot for work as well, I'm usually only home on the weekends."
You continue chatting for a bit, realizing you do share some similarities and actually have a lot more in common than you would've thought.
"Do you wake board?" you ask him and he nods.
"Can you teach me?" you look at him nervously, "I've always wanted to try it."
"I've never taught anyone other than myself, but I can try," he smiles at you, "let's go back to the boat, you can watch me first and then you can try it."
You both swim back to the boat, working together to bring the paddle board along. Christian tells Alec he wants to wakeboard. A few of the girls and Nick stay with the jetskis while everyone else gets back on the boat. You watch from the back of the boat as he makes it look ridiculously easy, taking a few videos of him that he asked you to take from his phone in the process.
When he's finished, Alec pulls back around to him and he looks at you, "you ready to give it a try," he says as you nod, clearly nervous. You pull on a life jacket and jump off of the boat. Nick says he will follow along behind you guys to pick Christian up if needed. Christian explains a few things to you, telling you that once you are up, it's just a matter of balance, and that getting out of the water is the hard part.
He stays behind you, helping you get the handle for the rope in your hand, and getting you into position while he continues to encourage you, "I'll let go as soon as the rope is tight," he says as you nod, slightly distracted by how close he is to you.
Your first several attempts are pretty miserable failures, only making it a few feet and feeling like you are drowning, but he keeps coaching you, trying his best to give you any tips he can think of. Finally you get up, going about 30 seconds before you lose your balance and fall.
Nick pulls up beside where you fell, Christian hopping off the jet ski into the water beside you, "that was good, really good" he says excitedly, "wanna try again?"
"Yes, one more time at least," you smile at him.
You are able to get up again, making it even further this time as you feel like you are really getting the hang of it before you fall.
You can hear Christian and Nick cheering for you as they get closer. Christian doesn't even wait for Nick to stop the jet ski before he barrels off of the back and swims towards you. "That was amazing" he says as he reaches you, "I've never seen someone catch on that fast," excitement clearly bubbling out of him as he brings his hands up to cup either side of your face.
The two of you seem to momentarily forget your surroundings, both grinning at each other, your legs tangling together under the water. The sound of the boat approaching breaks you from your trance, "Hey guys, I think I want to wakeboard, can you take the jet ski back?" Nick asks you, a playful glint in his eyes.
Christian climbs onto the jet ski, holding his hand out to help you on as well. You slide onto the seat behind him, leaving a respectful amount of space between you and holding on loosely to the sides of his life jacket. "Don't hurt me, Pulisic," you laugh as he turns to look you in the eyes. "I will never hurt you, I promise," he says, his expression serious. You aren't quite sure if he's talking about the jet ski or something else, but it feels like that promise has a lot more weight to it than just riding jet skis.
He starts the jet ski and inches his way closer to you as he accelerates. When he hits a few waves, you slam into the back of him, your grip tightening around him slightly, which causes him to smirk. He spins the jet ski around and in the process the two of you go flying off of it, tumbling into the water.
You come up coughing and sputtering as he's swimming furiously in your direction, "shit y/n, are you ok?" he says as he reaches you, his hands cupping your face and searching your features. "I'm fine, Christian," you giggle, "I swear, I'm ok."
You reach out to hold on to the sides of his life jacket, your legs once again tangling with his as he brushes a few stray hairs from your face, never breaking eye contact with you. Butterflies swarm in your stomach as he glances down to your lips before looking back into your eyes, his tongue wets his lips slightly as he leans in towards you. "Can I kiss you?" he whispers, a flicker of a smile dances across his lips as you nod and he brushes his lips against yours.
The kiss is soft and a bit restrained as he moves one hand into the back of your hair. You both smile briefly before you wrap your hands around the back of his neck and press your lips to his again. He swipes his tongue along your lower lip, silently asking for entrance, moaning softly into your mouth when you allow it and swirl your tongue around his.
You both pull away breathless, giggling like two kids who have just kissed behind your parents' house. He leans in and kisses you gently one more time before you both swim back to the jet ski, he flips it over with ease and helps you climb back on, you slide a little closer to him this time, resting your head against his back and squeezing your arms around his waist.
You ride for a while, without any further incidents of him throwing you off. "Looks like they've all gone back to the house," he says as you pull closer to where you were before. You make your way back to the dock and he ties the jet ski up, both of you taking off your life jackets and throwing them up on the dock.
He turns himself around on the jet ski so that he's now facing you and slides his hands around your waist, your breath hitches in your throat when he pulls you closer, "I know when we go back to the house, I won't get to do this so..." he trails off as he presses his lips to yours.
You hum as he kisses you, wrapping your hands around the back of his neck to deepen the kiss. With the way that you are sitting on the jet ski, it's easy for him to pull you into his lap so that you are straddling him. Both of you let out quiet moans as you instinctively roll your hips over his while he trails his hands up and down your back savoring the moment of feeling your body pressed against his.
Your fingers grip onto his biceps as your head falls back when he places a few kisses along your jaw and neck before his lips find yours again. He kisses you delicately, but there is an underlying neediness there. It takes all of your willpower to pull away from him, both of you panting and clearly hungry for more as you stand up from his lap.
"I should probably go back to the house," you say quietly, leaning down press a final kiss to his lips as he nods. He helps you onto the dock, "I'll be up there in a few minutes," he smiles sheepishly at you, a slight pink tinge to his cheeks, clearly needing some time to settle himself down before meeting back up with the others.
You find the others in the pool and join them noticing when Christian follows you a few minutes later. He finds subtle ways to stay near you, grazing his hands over your exposed skin every now and then, enjoying watching you interact with your friends and let your guard down a little more as you finish off another drink.
You move to the side of the pool, pulling yourself out of the water and sitting on the edge next to Ella. A few minutes later, Christian swims over and offers you and Ella another drink, pushing your knees apart and settling himself between them, his back leaning against the side of the pool.
"What are you guys doing tonight?" he asks, glancing up towards your best friend as he rests his arms over your legs.
"We have dinner reservations, you guys should come," she smirks at him.
"We wouldn't want to impose, we've already crashed your whole weekend as it is," he smiles back at her.
"You're not imposing, I invited you, and it's my party after all, and you saved the day today so really it's the least we can do," she shrugs her shoulders, "I'm sure y/n would love to have you there," she grins when she sees you roll your eyes.
He eventually agrees that they will meet up with you at your rental before you all head to the restaurant. He turns to face Ella when you stand up and go in the house. "She's hard work," he sighs.
"She is, but she's worth it, she's just got a lot of walls built up, but she's fiercely loyal once you get through them," she smiles back at him, "hang in there, Christian, she'll come around," she says patting him on the arm.
He comes into the house to find you, grabbing your hand and leading you into another room where you can have some privacy.
"Hi," he whispers as he pulls you close to him. "Hi," you whisper back, resting your head against his chest, listening to the way his heart is hammering away.
"Y/n," he says cautiously, using his fingers to tilt your face up so that he can look you in the eyes, "if you don't want me to come to dinner tonight, just tell me," he says quietly, his eyes searching your face for an answer.
"It's not that I don't want you there, it's just I don't really understand why you want to be there," you stare back at him.
"Simple, I'm enjoying being around you and I want to get to know you better," he smiles at you.
"You want to get to know me, or you think if you keep up these charming, flirty tactics I'll give in and sleep with you?" you answer him, arching an eyebrow at him.
"You think you've got me all figured out don't you?" he smirks at you.
"Yep," you answer him, without a hint of an expression on your face.
"Well you're wrong," he scoffs at you, backing away slightly. You would be lying if you said the pained look in his eyes didn't bother you a little.
"I know you don't know me, or trust me, but I'm not just trying to fuck you, y/n, in any sense of the word," he says a bit harshly.
"So you don't want to fuck me," you answer him quietly.
"That's not what I said," he rolls his eyes at you, "I'm not blind, and I can't sit here and pretend like I don't want to fuck you until the only thing you remember is my name, but, I said that's not all I'm trying to do. I want to get to know you, and if it leads to more great, if not, that's ok, too."
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean it like that, I'm just trying to wrap my head around what you could possibly see in me that's worth your time," you answer him honestly.
"You may not see it, but I see someone who is gorgeous, and funny, and looks at me like I'm just a normal guy, which doesn't happen very often," he shrugs at you.
"Ok" you say simply, taking a step towards him, hating yourself for the fact that you hate the distance between you.
He slides his hands around your waist as you wrap yours around the back of his neck, "I'm not going to hurt you, I promise," he whispers against your lips before kissing you gently, humming when you whisper back, "I believe you."
You join the girls as you all leave to go back to your house to get ready. You take a quick nap before you shower. Once you've showered you check in with everyone else to get an idea of what they are wearing before you dry your hair and style it with loose curls and work on your makeup.
Satisfied with the way you look, you pull on an ice blue mini dress and strappy heels, butterflies erupt in your stomach when you hear his voice echoing through the house as you look yourself over one more time. You internally tell yourself to calm down as you leave your room and head towards the voices you hear.
When your eyes meet his, you get an instant confidence boost from the way he's looking at you. His eyes drag over your body hungrily, until Alec elbows him and breaks him from his trance. "You've got some drool there, CP," he chuckles at his friend. "Shut the fuck up," he mumbles back to him, the tops of his ears going red.
You stand next to Christian, joining in on the conversation, but noticing that his eyes never leave you. He slides a hand around your waist, giving you a little squeeze as he dips his head to whisper in your ear, "you look amazing," before kissing you on the cheek.
"Thank you," you whisper back leaning into his side.
You order a minibus to take you all to dinner, shaking your head at Christian when he tries to pay for it. On the way there, he sits next to you, his hand resting over your thigh as he absentmindedly draws circles with his thumb. Goosebumps erupt on your skin which he clearly notices as he gives your thigh a gentle squeeze in response. You delicately trace your fingers over the tattoos on his arm, also noticing that his skin erupts in goosebumps at your touch.
At dinner he sits next to you, finding ways to lean over and speak quietly in your ear, lightly touch your exposed skin, or rest his arm over the back of the chair you are sitting in. He asks you questions about your life, really making an effort to get to know you better. You have to admit it is wearing you down a bit and you realize you might actually like spending time with him as you find yourself reciprocating his glancing touches.
Sliding your hand over his thigh, you lean over to ask him if he'd like to share a dessert with you, to which he nods and tells you to pick whatever your favorite is as he places his hand over yours, intertwining your fingers and giving them a reassuring squeeze.
After dinner, you head to a nightclub, intent on giving Ella one more night out before you leave to go home tomorrow. It's extremely crowded and after about an hour, Ella decides she would rather go back to the house you've rented and hang out there.
After a short Uber ride, you find yourself back at the house, everyone scattered around enjoying drinks and music. Christian has stayed close to you, and the more drinks he has, the more and more he is all over you. You don't mind it at first, but as he continues getting more handsy with you, he doesn't seem to realize that it's a bit too much for you.
One of your friends dares Christian to take a body shot off of you, but given the dress you are wearing, it would be impossible to do without completely undressing, so you decide to take one off of him. He stands and pulls his shirt over his head, taking a long swig from the tequila bottle and grabbing a lime to place between his lips, he motions for you to kneel in front of him, his pupils blown out and his mouth practically watering at the sight of you on your knees for him. He leans back slightly and cascades the tequila down his abs as you lick and slurp it up as it's funneled towards your open mouth. When he decides you've had enough, he pulls you from the floor and blows the lime from his mouth and crashes his lips to yours to the catcalls of the group.
You quickly tear yourself away from him and escape to the bathroom attached to your bedroom. You grab some comfortable clothes and change, brushing your teeth and hair. As you start washing your face there is a knock at the door, followed by Christian stumbling through it and shutting it behind him. He leans against the door watching you for a few minutes before making his way over to you as you finish up.
He places his hands on either side of you on the counter, caging you in place as he dips his head to kiss you on the neck. "Christian" you whisper as you drop your shoulder to dodge him and turn around and pull yourself up onto the counter quickly putting a tiny amount of space between you.
"Why don't you want me, y/n? Am I not good enough for you? Not your type anymore?" he scoffs, a bit of anger flashing across his features.
"I never said I don't want you, I just don't want you like this, Christian," you turn your face to look away from him, but he slides a delicate hand along your jaw and turns you back towards him.
"Like what? Tell me what you mean, please," he says quietly, the temporary flash of anger now completely melted away.
"Well for starters, you are very drunk, and I'm definitely not sober. And after that, I wish I could be the type of girl that would be proud to be your weekend conquest, the story you tell to your buddies about how you banged a chick from a bachelorette party who you met wearing your jersey in a club, but I'm not that girl, Christian."
"I'm only a little drunk," he grins at you holding up his hand and pinching his forefinger and thumb together, "and I told you I'm not just interested in fucking you, I'll be honest that if that's all I wanted, I would've bailed a long time ago."
He steps back and pulls you from the counter, leading you into your room where he flops onto your bed and pats the open space next to him. You reluctantly climb on to the bed with him but stay sitting up, your legs crossed in front of you.
"I know I don't know anything about your past and what you may have been through, but I wish you'd let these walls down and let me in, just a little, you need to stop being so fucking scared of me," he says, his tone a bit difficult to read.
"And maybe you need to stop trying to tell me what to do and pick up on the fact that you being all over me out there and making out with me in front of my friends makes me uncomfortable," you shoot back at him.
"And maybe you need to realize I've been uncomfortable all day seeing you prance around in a bikini and then in that tight blue dress, it's like you're trying to kill me, making me want you desperately but then saying I can't have you," he says bitterly.
"And here we are talking about your dick again and why it's so unfair that I won't just let you have what you want," you roll your eyes and stand up from the bed.
"You're just fucking scared, y/n, you're scared that I might actually be everything you've ever wanted, but you're either too scared or too stubborn to see it. If I was just looking to get laid, I promise I have much easier options available."
"Then maybe you should call one of them, I'm done with this conversation, Christian, maybe we can talk some more tomorrow before I leave," you say as you walk out of the room, leaving him sitting on the bed.
A little while later, as everyone else disappears to their own rooms, you head back to your room to find Christian asleep on your bed, slumped over in his upright position, still fully clothed and on top of the covers. You make your way over to him and work to pull his shirt over his head, waking him up enough to get him to scoot down so that he's laying flat on the bed. You unbuckle his belt and pull it off of him before unbuttoning the shorts he's wearing and attempting to slide them from his hips.
"I thought you didn't want me," he mumbles still mostly asleep. "I'm just assuming you don't want to sleep in these Christian, a little help would be nice," you grumble at him. He lifts his hips as you work the shorts down the rest of his legs and help him under the covers. You go to get some water for him and some pain killers for the headache he's sure to have in the morning.
Leaning down, you brush his hair out of the way and settle your hand over his jaw, caressing your thumb under his eye as you kiss him on the forehead whispering, "I am scared of you, and everything about you, you stupid, silly boy."
"Don't be," he mumbles incoherently, "stay with me please," he says as he turns his face and kisses the inside of your palm. "I can't," you whisper back running your fingers over his scalp and soothing him back to sleep. "You won't, there's a difference," he sighs as he drifts off.
You gather a pillow and a blanket and start to leave the room, turning back to look at him snoring quietly in your bed. Letting out a sigh, you shrug your shoulders and move back towards the bed, placing the pillow between the two of you and sliding under the covers.
The next morning you wake, the pillow thrown out of the way at some point during the night as Christian is sleeping peacefully beside you, a small amount of space still between you but his arm resting over your waist. You gently move his arm, careful not to disturb him and slip from the bed, grabbing your swimsuit and heading to the bathroom.
You pull on your swimsuit and a T-shirt over the top of it as you exit the bathroom through the door that leads out into the hallway making your way into the kitchen. You grab a water and chug it along with something for your headache and make a small bowl of fruit before going outside to sit by the small pool overlooking the beach.
Ella joins you a few minutes later, sipping on an iced coffee. "You ok?" she asks clearly able to tell that you are upset. "Yes, no, I don't know, Ells" you sigh, pulling your sunglasses down over your eyes to hide the tears that are brimming there.
"What happened last night?" she says reaching over to grab your hand, giving it an encouraging squeeze. "Nothing," you shake your head, "we had a bit of a fight, he said I'm scared."
"Is he wrong about that?" she offers you a small smile. "No, he's not," you breathe out. "But then he said that if he was just trying to sleep with someone he had other easier options," you roll your eyes, even though she can't see them.
"Well that was a dick move," she chuckles, "and I love you, but you are hard work, and maybe he's not used to that when it comes to girls you know."
"I know," you huff, "but that doesn't mean I can be one of those easy options for him either."
"You don't have to be an easy option, y/n, hell, you don't even have to ever see him again after this trip if you don't want to, but maybe you should give him a chance to see if he puts in the work, seems like he likes a good challenge," she smirks at you.
"Yeah, maybe" you give her a little smile, seeing him emerge from the house looking worse for wear.
"I've got this," Ella says standing up and making her way over to him and pushing him back into the house.
"She's upset isn't she," he says, looking down at the ground.
"Yeah, she is, look she knows she's hard work, and she knows you have easier options, you don't have to tell her that," Ella stares at him sternly.
"God, I've really fucked this up havent I?" he says to your friend as she nods.
"But you can fix it, if you want to that is," she smiles softly back at him.
"I do, I will, but what do I do? I feel like a dick for saying this, but honestly I've never had to make much of an effort and I'm not sure that I know how," his cheeks flush.
"Just take it slow, give her some space, let her get to know you and figure out from there what both of you want," she offers, "oh and she really likes the passion fruit lemonade from Starbucks when she's hungover," she winks at him.
The rest of the group starts moving around, not really giving him an opportunity to speak to you like he wants. The pair of you share some fleeting glances, but for the most part steer clear of one another, and as much as you hate to admit it, you miss being near him.
You realize he's been gone for a while and you think that maybe he's left to go home, which internally makes you panic thinking it's over before anything really had a chance to begin.
You walk inside, looking for your phone, and see him coming back through the front door, a couple of Starbucks cups in his hands. Butterflies erupt in your stomach when he offers you a sheepish smile, and it takes all of your restraint not to run over and crash your lips onto his.
He holds out one of the cups for you, "walk with me, please," he looks at you, eyes silently pleading with you, and he can't help but notice that you seem relieved to see him.
"Let me grab some shoes," you offer him small smile and take the drink from his hand.
"Ready?" you ask as he nods and slides his hand into yours, opening the door and holding it for you to walk through.
"Thank you for this," you smile as you take a long and refreshing sip from the drink he got for you. "No problem, it's really good isn't it," he says giving your hand a little squeeze.
Ella spies the two of you walking down the small path by the house heading towards the beach and smiles to herself as she thinks maybe things will work out between you.
Once you reach the beach you both kick your shoes off, feeling the warm sand squish between your toes as you continue walking.
"Listen, y/n, I was a complete dick last night. It's not a valid excuse, but I rarely get that drunk, and I shouldn't have spoken to you the way that I did," he starts.
"Christian," you say stopping him and turning to face him, "I did get overwhelmed last night by the way you were being all over me, because that's just not who I am, but you weren't completely wrong. I am scared, of whatever this is or could be, of the possibility of being with you. My mind is jumping a million steps ahead and thinking of all of the ways that this simply won't work."
"I get that, I do, really," he offers you a reassuring smile, "but maybe we could just take it slow, see how things go, if it ends up that all we can manage to be is friends, then so be it, but I'd like for you to please give me the opportunity to keep getting to know you, and just see where this might go."
"I just don't see how that can happen, you will leave to go back to Europe in a few weeks, I practically live out of my suitcase and at the airport traveling for work, we'd never see each other," your mind starts racing again as the words flood from your mouth, "I can't even guarantee that we could make a friendship work, I'm a terrible friend, just ask anyone, I'm always on the go, too busy for girls weekends or anything else really."
"Shhh," he says holding a finger up to your lips before moving his hand to cup your jaw. "You are thinking way too many steps ahead and only thinking of the ways this won't work, we just have to find one way that it will. All I'm asking is for a chance to see if we can do that, to see if we can figure this out together. I'm busy too, and traveling a lot, and I know it would be damn near impossible with jumping time zones and crazy schedules, but I want to try, please, please say you'll let us try."
You nod at him as a smile creeps over his lips. "God, can I kiss you now? It feels like it's been forever and I don't think I can stand it anymore," he grins at you when you slide your free hand around the back of his neck and brush your lips against his.
He wraps one of his hands around your waist and grazes his tongue over your lips wanting to deepen the kiss. He groans into your mouth when you oblige and press your tongue against his.
You pull away from the kiss, both of you out of breath, as he tucks a loose strand of hair behind your ear and caresses your cheek, "I'm so sorry about last night, really I am, please forgive me for the things I said, I didn't mean them," he looks into your eyes earnestly asking for your forgiveness.
"I forgive you, Christian, I know you were just frustrated by the whole situation," you smile at him.
"And I need you to know, there aren't other options, I'm not going to entertain anyone else, until you let me know something, one way or the other. As long as we are talking and figuring things out, you will be the only one I'm talking to ok? I'm not saying you have to do the same thing, but I want you to know that I'm not going to be messing around with someone else behind your back, I wouldn't do that, and I promised you I wouldn't hurt you, and so far I've done a shit job at that, but I swear I won't do it again," he grips both of your hands in his as he speaks to you.
You let out a little laugh, "You really think I have guys beating down my door? Christian you're the only person that has seemed remotely interested in me in quite a while, so no, I don't think you have to worry about me being involved with anyone else while we figure this out," you squeeze his hands reassuringly.
"So, can I have your number? I don't get on social media a lot and I don't want to be sliding in your dms, I'd rather be able to call you or FaceTime you if you're ok with it," he gives you a nervous smile.
"Sure," you hold out your hand and he places his phone in it. You put your number in and hand it back to him. He immediately calls you, hearing your phone ring in your pocket.
"Had to make sure it wasn't a fake," he grins, "and now you have my number, too." He leans in and gives you a soft kiss.
"Thank you," he whispers against your lips.
"For?" you question him, your eyes pinching together in confusion.
"Giving me a chance," he grins as he kisses the tip of your nose.
"I wish you would've stayed with me last night," he gives you a little pout, "I wasn't going to try anything, I swear, I knew you weren't there yet."
"I did stay, Christian, I wasn't going to, but in the end, I couldn't walk out of that room and leave you there," you smile softly at him.
"You stayed?" he questions you, "I really thought I had just dreamed that when I woke up this morning and you weren't there."
"I stayed," you go up to your tip toes and press a soft kiss to his lips, "but I put a pillow between us," you let out a small laugh.
"Thank you for staying," he whispers against your lips before he drops his head to graze a few tender kisses along your jawline, "and thank you for the water and headache meds, I definitely needed them."
"Not gonna lie, you looked like shit when you stumbled out of the house this morning," you chuckle.
"I felt like shit, but I'm feeling much better now, and you look gorgeous by the way," he gives you a wink.
"Now, that we've smoothed things over, let's go back to the house so that we can hang out a bit longer before you have to leave," he intertwines his fingers with yours as you lean your head against his shoulder.
You slowly make your way back to the house, stopping every now and then to kiss or just wrap your arms around him, the walls you've so carefully built up slowly cracking for this stupid, silly boy you didn't even see coming.

lover/fighter - my favorite moments
Tumblr media
[Little snippets from my Finnick/OC longfic that are stuck in my head]
From Chapter 50 - Love is a tough business
As they walk along the docks, where the fishermen sell their fresh catch just after they've brought it off the boat, she's so busy questioning her own feelings that she doesn't even notice the familiar face.
"Well, well, prominent visitors. The way you've been seen sneaking around here lately, I'd almost think you didn't like it in the Capitol anymore." Kip sets down the crate he has just carried next to the others on the dock and scrutinizes the duo in front of him with a mixture of curiosity and critical appraisal.
"I, for one, still live here," Finnick replies immediately, with a slightly challenging tone but the usual confident grin on his face.
"Really? I almost didn't notice," Kip replies a little teasingly. The energy between the two of them can only be described as playfully combative and, to be honest, it reminds Rhea a lot of Mirella's children, pubescent boys who always have to stand up to each other, just on principle. "And what about you?" he turns to her, somewhat amused.
Rhea thinks for a moment and laughs a little. "Well, I won't deny that I like it here very much," she replies.
This earns her a deep, hearty laugh from Kip, and he gives her a companionable pat on the shoulder. "Fine, fine, at least you're honest," he grumbles back.
"How's the arm?" she then asks, remembering their first encounter. Thinking about it, she is glad that he seems to have had enough of testing her steadfastness, because this time he makes a friendlier impression right from the start and saves himself the intimidation attempts.
"Unnecessary question, I'm fine. You caught me in a tiny moment of weakness, but that only happens to me once a century, right?" Kip announces firmly.
Rhea smiles a little wryly and replies, "Sure, you're all super tough guys here, my bad." To be honest, she wouldn't have expected any other answer. Even if she still finds the attitude of the people here a little strange at times, she is slowly getting used to it, and admittedly such an attitude is probably necessary in the districts to a certain extent.
Finnick observes the meeting with interest and amusement. "Sometimes I forget that you probably know half the village by now. However, it still makes me sad that I wasn't able to witness your first meeting. I really would have liked to have seen that," he comments with a sassy little grin at Kip.
He puts on his grim face again and grumbles, "I can't believe you're still the same cheeky little brat you used to be. No wait, I liked you better then than I do now. At least you were good at knotting nets, now you're just annoying."
"How mean. Is that any way to talk to paying customers?" Finnick teases him back.
Kip snorts and raises his eyebrows. "You don't have to come up with that until you've actually bought something."
Men. It's almost as if they're all bound by a curse that forces them to retain the mind of a child who is then trapped in an aging body forever and ever. Rhea has to smile at the thought, but it's not untrue, it's a phenomenon she's seen in pretty much every guy she knows. With some it is less pronounced than with others, but even with Linus she has seen it when certain circumstances are met.
"Then offer me something," Finnick laughs playfully before his expression turns to a sinister grin. "But it'll have to be something good to keep Rhea from devouring me instead," he adds, giving her an amused, suggestive glance.
He's doing it again. As meek as his character may be, at least a small part of him seems to enjoy making her suffer like this and Rhea regrets that she has let him get away with it so far. He really is like a child testing his limits to see how far he can go and is bold enough to use her own words against her.
The fact that she can now hear the fishermen from Kip's crew, who were busy unloading the catch during their conversation, laughing around her makes it even worse. What is this fool thinking? The heat is suddenly unbearable, and she finds herself unable to utter a word in her defense.
"O merciful sea," Kip groans with a roll of his eyes. "Get a room."
This bursts the bubble and Rhea forces herself to wipe the pout off her face. "Give me that!" she orders grumpily, holding out her hand and pointing to the bag of groceries Finnick is carrying over his shoulder.
He stops grinning, but a slight smile remains as he looks at her with an innocent expression. "Don't make that face, I'm only joking," he says placatingly.
Rhea scrunches her eyebrows together and punishes him with a sharp look. "Give me that," she growls impatiently.
He raises his arms in resignation and does as she says. With a sigh, he begins, "Come on, I really am sorr - Hey!" His remorse comes too late, because after that all you can hear is the loud splashing and peals of laughter from the fishermen in sight, echoing across the water like thunder.
The feeling of sweet gratification more than makes up for the previous humiliation. She would have thought it would be harder, but apparently, she had the element of surprise on her side. He probably hadn't expected her to actually try something like this, which made it much easier to push him off the wooden walkway. Had he seen it coming, she probably wouldn't have stood a chance, but the feeling of having toppled a giant as a rather weak individual is even more rewarding.
She stops at the edge of the dock and looks down at him with satisfaction as he sticks his head out of the water and brushes his wet hair out of his face. "Seriously?" is all he can get out, bewilderment and a small hint of amusement on his face.
Rhea would love to have captured this image for eternity so that she can remind him of this moment whenever he tries to embarrass her again, because she doesn't imagine that he won't try again at some point. But from now on it is officially a game for two and she gets in with a strong move.
"I think you've been out in the sun for too long. Looked to me like you really needed to cool off," she says with a gleeful grin, slinging the bag over her shoulder that she wisely saved from the water. "Remember to bring the fish for tonight when you're done with it," she adds, and with a farewell wave to Kip, she strolls back across the dock to the quay.
It takes Finnick a few seconds to process everything, then he involuntarily starts chuckling, which quickly turns into uncontrollable laughter. Luckily, he's practically born to swim, otherwise he might end up sinking now, the way he's convulsing with laughter. But he quickly forces himself to catch himself before she disappears out of sight, calling after her, "Whatever you want, sweetheart."
From down there, he can just barely see her pause in response and cast a brief, restrained glance back over her shoulder. There is little sign of her air of self-assurance left and instead the slightly pouty expression is back along with the red color that adorns her cheeks. But he only has a brief moment before she turns around and continues walking.
Suddenly the cooling actually feels good. Finnick shakes his head and lets out a snort of disbelief and amusement. Then he glances up, where Kip is eyeing him, arms crossed and full of unveiled glee. "Can you maybe help me out of here?" he asks him encouragingly.
Kip pretends to think for a moment, shrugs his shoulders and then replies coolly, "I don't think so."
"You've got to be kidding me," Finnick snorts, stunned, but Kip has already turned his attention back to his fish. He is left with no choice but to fight his way back up to the top by himself, which is not so easy with the wet, slippery wooden beams that barely offer any foothold. The alternative would be to swim back to the harbor wall and climb out of the water, but he doesn't want to put on this show for the people unless he really has to.

Phil's big laugh in that first still never fails to make me smile. This week's Monday Philm is Cold Mountain (2003) with the commentary track by director Anthony Minghella and editor Walter Murch. Good November movie.
I said the same thing when I watched The Talented Mr. Ripley with commentary a few months ago, but Minghella was such a special artist. His insights into his own work and filmmaking as a whole are always worth hearing and remind me how much effort goes into every single moment of a film. And of course he offers gems like: "This scene in the film illustrates why film directors are eventually taken to psychiatric wards."
I really enjoyed Minghella's description of Phil's work style—he was contrasting it with Jude Law's very "direct-able" and somewhat happy-go-lucky, flexible, "puppy-like" process:
Phil is a marvelous actor... Phil is somebody who's a director himself, a brilliant director, an extremely intelligent man who wrestles his way through work and acts in a kind of state of high anxiety—maybe just with me! But nevertheless I think he and I both love each other and love this process. But having Jude and Phil in one scene together is like the yin-yang experience for being a filmmaker.
That bit reminded me of something else Minghella once said about Phil: "Philip is an extraordinary actor, cursed sometimes by his own gnawing intelligence, his own discomfort with acting." In 2008, Phil was interviewed by Terry Gross for NPR's Fresh Air and she asked him about that second quote. Minghella had died unexpectedly earlier that year and Phil almost got choked up on air thinking about him. It's a very touching moment in one of my favorite interviews, Phil is very generous with his process and open (in his way) about himself.
Anywayyyy back to the film—I read a claim a while ago and Walter Murch confirms it in the commentary that some pretty significant PSH/Reverend Veasey scenes were cut from the final film 💔 For example, in the original cut, Veasey is very much the man who leads the charge to escape, but they reworked it so Inman is the hero. Which makes sense for the narrative of course! But 😔💔
One of the special features on the DVD is a short documentary on making Cold Mountain. As they're preparing to film the canoe scene, Phil gets caught with one leg in the crew boat and one leg in the canoe and whines in that deadpan voice, "I can't get over. I'm stuck. Oh, here I go." Love of my life.

i kinda wish sex wasnt just uncomfortable for me. if i try and top i get stuck in my own head and drop hard even if i find a rhythm for a bit. when i get to bottom im on the verge of dysphoria the whole time and cant ever let myself fully melt into it
i wish my dick didn’t work. i still get hard. i don’t like that. i wish it was gone and i could have a pussy that worked the way i wanted it to. i don’t want to use it at all. i don’t want to penetrate, i don’t want to jerk it, i just want it gone at this point.
i don’t even know if there’s any sex i like or if it’s just dysphoria and trauma making it hard for me to enjoy anything. i get dysphoric from having to anal train, not to mention how sensitive my tissue down there is making it very fickle to do anything larger than a finger.
i’m happy to use my mouth. i’m happy to be hit. i’m happy to meow and be cute. i want to explore what i actually enjoy but it’s so hard when people either want things i can’t give, in the same boat as me, or anything that isn’t aligned with whatever the fuck inside me.
control scares me. control makes me feel weak. it drains me. i’m tired of having control. i’m tired of having so little to offer that people want.
and honestly in general i’m tired of feeling so out of step with people. i’m tired of feeling like an effective outcast like every other stage in my life. i find myself on the outer rings of everything, even when people insist im a core part of it all. i’m so close to giving up reaching out and trying to find place.
maybe i’m just ace and will never find sexual pleasure that i can fully enjoy. maybe im supposed to be a loner existing on the fringe, making people laugh occasionally but rarely being a core part of their day.
i dunno. i kinda hate who i am.

I'm not too used to writing angst (so sorry if it's kinda bad lol), but I really liked writing this!! Hope you enjoy :)
Word count: 1.1k
South Park - Drowning (Stan Marsh) (Platonic)
“Woah!” You giggled as Stan pushed the boat off the shore a little too hard, making it rock frightfully. It was a small, wooden skiff, propelled by oars rather than an engine. Not the best boat, but the easiest to steal. Though you preferred the term “borrow.”
Stan cursed while he waded through the ice-cold water to catch up. You laughed at him, but you still grabbed him by the arms and helped him hop in when he got close enough.
It was the dead of night. The only light you could see was coming from your lantern—no one else was on the lake. No one you could see, anyway. But that was kind of the idea: one, you didn’t want to get caught with a stolen boat, and two, you wanted to be alone. It was quieter that way.
You both took up an oar and started to move away from the shore.
“Why didn’t we steal a boat with an engine again?” Stan panted as he rowed.
“Borrow,” you corrected, dodging the question because you were wondering the same thing now. Your arms were hurting and you could feel blisters forming on your palms.
After a few minutes, you both dropped your oars. “Think this is far enough?” You asked, looking around. A pointless task; you couldn’t see anything in the darkness.
“I hope so. I’m not rowing any more.”
“Then you’ll love the trip back,” you snickered, earning a playful shove from Stan. The boat rocked with the motion.
“I’ll get out the telescope.” You reached for your backpack, feeling unsteady as you stood to grab it. The boat was just so small; every movement you made sent it wobbling along with you.
“I swear, if we fall in…” You heard Stan mutter under his breath.
Ignoring him, you lifted the telescope grandly out of your bag, holding it in the air. “Ta-da!”
“That’s not a stargazing telescope.”
“And how would you know that?” “Uh, ‘cause I’ve seen one? And that one is way too small.”
You stuck out your tongue. “A telescope is a telescope. Now do you want to look through it or not?”
“You can go first.” Stan leaned back and reached for the lantern. He flicked it off.
The sky illuminated like a movie screen above you. Millions of stars freckled the velvety black fabric of space. A crescent moon hung suspended among it all, smiling down at the sleeping earth. You smiled back.
Lifting your telescope to your eye, you looked at some stars more closely. Stan was right; this telescope was definitely not intended for stargazing. But you pretended it was working, saying “ooh” and “aah” theatrically.
“Stan, you’re really missing out. I can see the big dipper, the little dipper…”
“Shut up,” Stan laughed.
“The medium-sized dipper! Ooh, and what’s that?” You leaned forward as if trying to get a better look at something. But you had forgotten that you were already on the edge of the boat, and your movement rocked it just enough to make you lose your balance and tumble into the water.
You heard Stan shout your name before you were even fully submerged. Cold, cold blackness swallowed you, seizing all sensation. Your consciousness slipped away.
Stan’s POV
He launched forward, gripping the edge of the boat and holding up the illuminated lantern. He screamed your name into the water. When you didn’t come up for several seconds, he really started to panic.
He submerged his arm into the icy water, feeling around blindly in hopes of grabbing you. “Y/n, come up,” he begged, jumping to the other side of the boat and checking the water with his arm there, too. “This isn’t funny!”
He accepted with a sinking feeling that this wasn’t a joke. It had been too long already; he knew you couldn’t hold your breath for very long. So he yanked off his soggy boots and jumped into the pitch-black water.
He couldn’t see a thing. He swam down in a hopeless effort to find you in the blackness. He used his legs to propel himself while his arms waved around wildly, acting as his eyes.
He was running out of breath. He was freezing. But he hardly felt a thing; he was too panicked, too desperate to find you.
His lungs threatened to give in on him. He could hear his oxygen-deprived heart hammering in his ears. He’d have to go up for air. He wanted to scream, but turned around nonetheless.
As he swam towards the surface, his hand brushed something. He gripped it instantly, relief flooding his mind as he continued to swim upwards. But the extra weight was slowing him down. His vision was starting to go wonky. It seemed to him that the dim light from the lantern above was growing brighter…
He breached just in time. Gasping and sputtering for air, he groped around for the boat, blinded temporarily by the water dripping into his eyes. Instead, he found someone’s forearm. It wasn’t yours; no, that was in his other hand. Then whose was it..?
“Hold on, I’ll pull you up!” He was pulled halfway out before the person helping him realized that he was also honding on to you, and that you were unconscious. They switched their attention to you, pulling you aboard before him.
“Uncle Jimbo?” He coughed, finally wiping the water from his eyes. Apparently—luckily—he was out on one of his late-night fishing trips.
“Geez, Stan, what the heck were you doing in there?” His Uncle interrogated as he lifted Stan from the water.
“Y/n—they—they fell in,” Stan remembered, his heart dropping. He rushed over to where you were laying.
Your chest wasn’t moving. “No, no, no…” Tears pricked at his eyes. “Please don’t go… Don’t go…” He couldn’t lose you. You were one of his best friends. A life without you... he didn't even want to imagine it. The mere notion made him nauseous.
“Check for a pulse, son,” Jimbo interjected.
Stan gripped your freezing wrist. His heart seemed to stop beating in those few seconds that he waited to feel something. He just about shouted for joy when he felt a weak throb beneath your skin.
At the same time, you spewed water from your lungs. Coughing violently, you propped yourself up on your elbows. You were still coughing as Stan pulled you into a hug.
“I thought you were dead!”
You weakly placed a hand on his back in turn. “You saved me, though.” Then, looking around, you realized you weren’t on the dinky skiff anymore.
“Next time,” you whispered into Stan’s ear, “let’s steal this boat. It’s way nicer.”
Stan sniffled, giving a small laugh as he wiped the tears from his eyes.
“Agreed.”

Sunshine (Ben Hargreeves x reader)
An: Hello my lovelies I apologize in advance for writing this, I shed a few tears while writing this so lmao if you cry, we're in the same boat. But I hope you enjoy this angst I'm throwing at you! Happy reading!
Warnings: angst, deals with death, and some cursing.
Words: 3579
Tumblr media
"You are my sunshine, my only sunshine, you make me happy when skies are grey, you'll never know dear how much I love you, so please don't take my sunshine away" I sang softly to myself, sitting on my bed in my room. I fiddled with the (random/object), in my hand, humming the tune to mine and Ben's special song. He had nicknamed me sunshine when we were younger and had called me that ever since he came up with the name. Since then, that has been our special song. The one we sang to Calm each other down when we were stressed, or couldn't sleep, or were scared, or just when we wanted something to do. I started humming the beginning again and sang the lyrics for a second time. "You are my sunshine, my only sunshine, you make me happy when skies are grey, you'll never know dear how much I love you, so please don't take my sunshine away." I had stood up from my bed and started dancing around the room as I sang. As I finished the last lyric I heard a chuckle coming from my doorway. It was Ben, my best friend, (and sort of crush), within the Hargreeves family.
"You're singing our song without me," He said faking a pout as he leaned against the doorframe. I giggled
"I was indeed" I chuckled walking over to give him a hug, He pushed off the door and walked towards me meeting me halfway. I smiled as he wrapped his arms around me hugging me gently. "I'm sorry benny boo" I giggled, 'apologizing' for singing our song without him there to hear it.
"It's okay I forgive you, just never do it again" He answered jokingly, holding me at arm's length, and wagging his finger at me threateningly. I laughed, and he let go of my shoulder.
"So what's up Ben, why were you creepily watching me from my doorway," I asked moving back to sit on my bed, he followed and sat on the other end.
"what, I can't just come to visit my best friend anymore?" He asked appalled that I would even suggest him having some ulterior motive to come visit.
"Yes, but this is YOU we're talking about, so what do you want?" I asked chuckling.
"Alright, Alright, I was getting tired of being around Klaus so I came in here to escape him" Ben explained with another chuckle.
"oh so what, am I just your backup?" I said pretending to be angry with him, I folded my arms giving him a glare, successfully holding back my laughter.
"Of course not," He said gently "You know I prefer you to Klaus, but Klaus was just needier than you today" He explained laying across my bed looking up at the ceiling.
"whatever you say" I replied with a giggle, faking the disbelief evident in my voice. I continued to fiddle with the (random/object) in my hands as silence fell between the two of us, the silence wasn't suffocating or tense or anything, it was comfortable. And neither of us felt the need to fill it with mindless chatter.
"Sing it again for me, Sunshine?" Ben asked suddenly using my nickname against me, and shattering the calm silence I had been enjoying, I looked over at him, he hadn't moved from his spot staring up at my bedroom ceiling.
"Benny Boo? Why?" I whined at his request, using the awful nickname I had given him that just stuck.
"Because I like hearing you sing it" He replied snarkily finally turning his head to look at me. "So please??" He asked smiling widely
"You know I hate singing in front of people," I paused in my statement before continuing when I saw he was about to interject. " even if it's just you" I finished giving him a look.
"Oh come on," He frowned, "Pretty please?" He asked folding his hands together in a begging motion.
"No," I said bluntly, staring at him with a glare.
"Pretty please with a cherry on top?" He begged, sticking out his bottom lip, and giving me his best puppy dog face. 'well shit, how can I say no to that adorable face' I thought to myself, my glare softening.
"ok fine!" I announced, to him, and he stopped his begging immediately.
"Yay!" He smiled widely and clapped his hands like a little kid being promised a new toy, I just laughed at him. I watched him laugh with me before he crawled over to where I sat on my bed with my legs crossed and continued to lay down. This time with his head in my lap. I sighed as he looked up at me expectantly, waiting for me to start singing to him. I rolled my eyes as he got comfortable in my lap.
"are you comfortable yet Benny?" I asked with a small smile as I watched him squirm around trying to get comfy.
"Not yet" He mumbled grabbing a nearby pillow and stuffing it under his head, and on my lap, boosting his head up higher and closer to my face. I rolled my eyes again, as he fluffed the pillow quickly, before finally settling down. "now I'm ready" He declared after he finally became comfortable in my lap. I rolled my eyes for the millionth time since he entered my room, and against my will began to hum the opening tune to the song. I hummed the tune slower than the original song plays, turning it into a sort of lullaby. As I started humming Ben reached for my hand resting next to me on the bed. He grabbed my hand and moved it up to his head so I was running my fingers through his hair. Once he was sure that I wouldn't stop with the movement he released my hand and sighed contently, a very small smile etched onto his face. Then I began to sing.
"You are my sunshine, my only sunshine, you make me happy when skies are grey, you'll never know dear, how much I love you, please don't take my sunshine away" I stopped singing words and hummed the tune before the next lyric. "The other night dear, as I lay sleeping, I dreamed I held you in my arms when I awoke dear I was mistaken, and I hung my head and cried" I hummed the tune again before starting the final part to the song, "You are my sunshine, my only sunshine, you make me happy when skies are grey, you'll never know dear, how much I love you, please don't take my sunshine away... Please don't take my sunshine away" I finished singing softly and I looked down at Ben fondly, he still had his eyes closed, and I swear I could hear a soft snore coming from him. I kept running my hands through his hair, knowing if I stopped I would wake him up. I didn't want to do that, he was already tired enough from all the missions and training our dear father forces him to do. He looked so peaceful and happy and content as he snored softly. judging from how he was right now, you would have never thought he had small monsters brewing inside his stomach. Man, I loved him, more than he would ever know. I would just die if he ever found out I loved him as more than a best friend. But I couldn't help but lean down and place a soft kiss on his forehead, as he slept... At least I thought he was asleep until a wide smile stretched across his face, and he opened his eyes. I frowned as he grinned up at me blinking innocently.
"I thought you were asleep" I groaned with slight embarrassment.
"I was about to fall asleep until you decided to leave a big smooch on my forehead," He said with the biggest grin I had ever seen. I scowled at him.
"Shut up" I mumbled shyly, pink dusting my cheeks, he sat up and rotated to face me. He smiled wistfully at me before raising his hand to my cheek stroking it with his thumb softly.
"it's ok Sunshine, I didn't mind, he said softly. As he leaned in closer to me, my breath got caught in my throat, until he finally pressed his lips against mine softly. My eyes fluttered shut, and I let out the breath I had been holding. The kiss didn't last long, only a few seconds at most, but it made butterflies erupt in my stomach like I was a little girl. He pulled away with small glow in his eyes, that wasn't there before. I smiled at him, giggling stupidly, and he rested his forehead on mine. "You know, I've been wanting to do that for a while now, He said unable to contain his grin.
"Have you now? I said with a smile that rivalled his.
"I have" He responded
"Well, then you should have done that a while ago" I replied sassily.
"Really?" He moved away from me, instead choosing to sit in front of me and play with my fingers.
"yep" I smiled, "cause let me let you in on a little secret, I wouldn't have minded" I copied his answer, from when I kissed his forehead. And he chuckled.
Time Skip (be warned the Angst is beyond this point, I also mention the word goons like 50 million times)
Another damn mission, this one getting a tad bit out of hand, the entire umbrella academy was overwhelmed, and if we didn't step up our game and fight harder we would soon be overrun, and one of us would get hurt. I was fighting multiple people at once, and so was everyone else. More goons appearing out of seemingly nowhere as soon as you finally knocked one goon out. Knock one down and Two more appear. I was getting tired, using my power for this long was draining me, and quickly at that. But I couldn't stop fighting, not unless I wanted to die. Which I didn't so I just took a deep breath to steady my dizzy head, turned to the group of goons slowly surrounding me. I looked at each of them in the eye and smiled. They cocked their guns nervously and the click echoed in my mind. I swirled my hands around in a small circle, the trail of a (favourite/colour) glow following after my hands, I threw my arms out to the side knocking the goons that were facing the palm of my hands across the room. One of them landed on one of the goons Allison was fighting on the other end of the room. The rest of the goons that surrounded me looked at each other fearfully then back at me. I smirked.
"What's wrong, you look a little scared boys," I remarked snarkily to the goons, before waving my hands again and sending them all directly into the nearest wall. Clearing the circle of goons around me. Before more goons filled their place. I scowled angrily. "Holy shit, How many of you guys are there?" I asked, the rhetorical question aimed towards the newest set of goons before I pushed my hands forward the (favourite/colour) glow following, and sending the circle sliding across the floor into the group of goons Diego was fighting, knocking out every single one of them. Diego threw me a grateful glance, before throwing a knife at me, my eyes widened as it came hurtling towards me, until it curved around me and hit a goon that was making a quiet approach behind me. "That was close, Thanks Diego," I said with a smile, as I wiped the sweat off my forehead. No more goons had approached me so I went to find Ben to help him out. Pushing my hands towards the ground, I pushed my self off the ground and flew around the room looking for him. But for some reason, I couldn't find him. I shrugged, not thinking much of it and looked around the room to see which of my 'siblings' needed help. I noticed Allison was struggling a little so I yelled out to her. "Allie!" I shouted down
"What (y/n)?" She yelled back blocking her opponent's punch and kicking the guy in the head.
"Rumor them!" I shouted, landing next to her when I saw someone approach her from the back, I flung my arm out once I landed launching a ball of (F/c) glowing energy towards them. "Make these guys fight each other," I said to her as I swirled my hands knocking them men off their feet, giving Allison time to Rumor them.
"I heard a rumour, that you all fought each other," She said, her words echoing towards the fallen goons. I watched with Interest as their eyes glazed over as they stood to comply with her orders. We giggled to each other and I raised my arms pushing myself off the ground and levitating Allison off the ground just before one goon threw a punch at another who was stood right behind her. The circle of bad guys turned into a mass of flailing arms as they fought one another, Allison and I floated above the commotion and looked around at who needed help.
"set me over by Luther," She said after giving a quick scan of the room, to see who needed the most help. I looked over to where she was looking and saw Luther struggling to keep up with the punches being thrown at him. I quickly moved Allison over to him to help him, and Lost control she wasn't too far from the ground, so she dropped down rolling and landing on her feet perfectly. I sighed in relief that she was okay and moved over to where Klaus was going one on one with an opponent, he was dancing around laughing hysterically at absolutely nothing, and making snarky and funny remarks, riling up his opponent, getting him angry. And the thing was the angrier his opponent was, the worse his punches were. Klaus got a few good punches in but I still figured I should help him out a little bit. I dropped down beside him and, said hello. Making him completely turn towards me.
"Well hello there 'Sunshine'" He said with a grin, putting emphasis on the word Sunshine, and raising his eyebrows suggestively. He was the only one who knew about mine and Ben's secret 'Relationship' and he took advantage of that, teasing us endlessly about it. But within that split second he looked away from his opponent, the goon he was fighting threw a hard punch hitting Klaus hard on the jaw, making Klaus spin and fall to the floor. I watched Klaus fall, catching him and gently lowering him to the floor before looking at the goon. I was enraged, how dare this fiend lay a hand on my innocent little boy. I looked after Klaus more than even Ben did, and Klaus came to me when he was drunk and crying, or scared. I looked after him like he was my younger brother even though he was the same age as me. I had a huge soft spot for Klaus and he knew this. So I was a bit protective of him, and seeing this villain, this piece of scum, even lay a finger on my little bean enraged me. My eyes glowed the same colour as my hands and I lifted the guy into the air effortlessly.
"Don't ever lay a hand on my little baby boy Klaus ever again" I with my jaw clenched tightly. "or any of my siblings for that matter" I added for good measure, I saw the man's eyes widen with surprise and fear. I kept him suspended in the air before letting out a growl and flinging my arm towards the nearest wall as hard as I could. He zoomed past as a blur and I could barely hear his scream before he crashed into the wall so hard I could hear his back cracking as it broke, and his limp body fell to the floor weakly. He didn't move after that, and the spot where his body had made contact with the wall, was a huge crack and hole. My rage died down and the glow in my eyes dimmed. I unclenched my fist and breathed in and out quickly to calm myself down.
"Woah," Klaus said from behind me, with complete awe, and a little bit of fear. "That was sick!!" He said jumping up and pumping his fist in the air. "Danke Sister," He said happily, skipping around me and giving me a huge hug. I hugged him back smiling, before letting go and looking around the room, all the fighting had died down, and all the thugs were either dead or knocked unconscious. Five was spacial jumping around the room freeing hostages, while the rest of the group ensured they were alright once they were freed. Klaus and I looked on as they made sure everyone was alright. Klaus and I took it upon ourselves to round up any of the unconscious thugs and tie them up, ensuring them no escape before the police got to them. We finished that job fairly quickly and high fived each other enthusiastically once we were finished. I giggled as Klaus ran jumping into the air and clicking his heels. My laughter faded as I heard a panicked shout from five.
"UMM YOU GUYS!!" He yelled and you could immediately tell something was wrong. "WE'VE GOT A PROBLEM" He continued to yell to the group. Klaus and I looked at each other warily, before sprinting to where Five was. We got there in record time.
"what is it" I panted out of breath from the sprint. With Klaus breathing heavier than I was.
"Uhh" Five's eyes darted to the other side of a counter he was standing in front of. I looked over the edge of the counter and saw Ben lying there lifelessly.
"Shit!" I exclaimed as I hopped over the table effortlessly, I dropped to my knees and lifted his head placing it gently on top of my knees. "no, no, nonononono, Hey, hey, c' mon" I whispered cradling his head on my lap. I sniffed, already feeling tears welling up in my eyes at the thought that he could have been dead. "Hey, c' mon Benny Boo, open your eyes" I ran my hands through his hair. "Please" my voice cracked and the tears spilt down.
"Hey, there sunshine" He whispered his voice cracking, as he struggled to keep his eyes open. He took a deep breath, and it sounded strained and raspy.
"Hey, Benny Boo" I sniffed, and let out a weak chuckle of relief that he wasn't dead. The rest of the team slowly gathered around Ben and me, as Allison looked over the counter she let out a sharp gasp. There was nothing visibly wrong with Ben, no blood, no stab wounds or bullet wounds, nothing out of the ordinary that you could see. But you could tell something had gone wrong, you could tell he was struggling to breathe. Klaus was behind me and was crying as well, as he looked at Ben's weak form, he could tell Ben was about to die, I could feel that he knew, and as a result, he hurriedly ushered the rest of the group away so I could spend this time alone with Ben. The others took the hint and gave us some space. I sniffed wiping away a tear as it ran down my cheek, before speaking. "What happened you, idiot," I said sadly trying to put some light in the situation.
"I'm not sure" He replied wheezing and struggling to speak. "Hey... Sing for me Sunshine" He said the corners of his mouth struggling to turn upwards in a smile. I smiled back nodding, more tears spilling down my cheek at his request. Knowing my voice might be the last thing he ever heard.
"You are my sunshine" I started singing, my voice worsened by my crying state. "My only sunshine, You make me happy when skies are grey, you'll never know dear how much I love you, so please don't take my sunshine away" I finished singing, and he lifted his hand to my cheek, rubbing it with his thumb, a soft grin on his face.
"Beautiful as always Sunshine," He said and I held his hand to my cheek, kissing his palm softly. He grinned puckering his lips for a kiss, I chuckled a broken chuckle and lean down to grant his silent request. "ahh, even when you're in tears you're a good kisser." He chuckled gravely, his voice getting weaker and weaker. "I Love you Sunshine" He declared proudly, as the rest of the group slowly gathered around to wordlessly say their last goodbyes.
"I love you too, Benny Boo," I said smiling brokenly.
"Sing it again, One more time, just for me" He begged cupping his hand on my cheek again, I held it there with my own hand.
"You are my sunshine, My only sunshine, you make me happy, when skies are grey, you'll never know dear how much I love you, so please don't take my sunshine away." He closed his eyes and smiled slightly right before I felt his arm go limp. I sobbed and barely whispered the last line of the song. "Please don't take my Sunshine away" I whispered, sobbing over his dead body. I never sang again.
