( mun ) alrighty then. cracks knuckles. lets see, first off, my college finals are done. thank fuck. all i gotta do now is show up for one high school class for a week and a half, take that final, and i’m done with junior year. i’ll repeat: thank fuck. queue has been bumped up to 24 posts a day, doubling the previous rate. i still have twenty books to read, and yes, that’s an exact number, and yes, it’s all because i’m a huge dork who loves reading. but i’m here! i’m free! like, officially! also: i’m gonna stop using text on my replies, but as i already have a bunch queued, you’ll still see that for the next four or five days.
#―♚ ❝ why do you write like you're running out of time? ‣‣‣ OOC.#so far i've read chasing the bear by robert b. parker and scythe by neal shusterman#both were absolutely fantastic and honestly i've come to expect nothing less from rbp and shusterman so#and i'm working on promised land by robert b parker and harry potter and the cursed child and glass sword by victoria aveyard#also i'm reading one story from the adventures and memoirs of sherlock holmes every night#but yeah um im a huge nerd someone come talk to me about how overused love triangles are in young adult lit#or how a perfectly good metaphor can become super dull very quickly#aveyard buddy you dont gotta say they're drowning every five minutes#the only heavily featured liquid in the book is blood#and they arent exactly drowning in it#well to be fair they kind of are#BUT EVERY FIVE PAGES IS KIND OF UNNECESSARY#um also??? i love scorpius malfoy a l o t#such a precious nerd boy#and later im revisiting the professional!!!!#it was my first robert b parker book and im super excited!!!#guys i love robert b parker okay#he writes detective novels and he has a whole series about this guy named spenser#and he's very much the wise cracking detective trope#but he's in a committed relationship and has a whole code of honor thing going on and is super sarcastic#and his writing style is really amazing??? like it really fits the character#its sparse but not so much as to be underwhelming??#its simplistic and therein lies its beauty#and honestly like parker is one of those authors that like#my writing style isnt similar and neither is my genre but i fucking adore him#because he's a fantastic author#i should say was but im still in denial :)#u g h okay and then also i grabbed this book called the thieves of threadneedle street#and i havent read it yet but it looks super interesting and its about like these forgeries and the people who committed them and yeah#im very excited for that one too??
