THE FIRST PART OF THE LORE!!!
When Bluestar denies letting any apprentices aside from Cloudpaw become warriors, and Swiftpaw makes the plan to go fight whatever’s at sunning rocks, Ashpaw feels worried and guilty about Bright and Swift, so he tells Cloudtail about the plan since they’re brothers and he trusts Cloudtail to help. Cloudtail immediately gets Fireheart, and he rallies a patrol to go save the two apprentices
They manage to get there in time to keep them from being killed, but not quick enough to save them from being brutalized. The fight with the dogs is loud enough that a couple of twolegs looking for them head in their direction, causing the dogs to flee in order to maintain their freedom, and allow the cats time to escape.
Once things have calmed down enough, they rush back to camp. This is when they notice that the dogs gouged out Swiftpaw’s eyes, and he’s now blind. Longtail curses out Fireheart cause “this is your fault” and promises his apprentice is strong enough to survive, and is determined to teach him anyway once he’s healed up. (Swiftsong returns the favor later by training Longtail when he’s blinded by the rabbit)
Bluestar gives Swiftpaw the name Tornsight (Brightheart is still Lostface), and once they wake up, Fireheart lets them know that while he’s thrilled they’re alive, that was an extremely foolish and dangerous thing to do. If it weren’t for Ashpaw telling Cloudtail and himself that Swiftpaw and Brightpaw had left and where they went, they’d probably both be dead now. Swiftpaw is quiet but asks to see Ashpaw later so he can thank him.
Once Bright and Swift are healed up enough to leave camp, Cloudtail takes Bright with him to see his mother, and Longtail brings Swift to the training hollow to gauge where he’s at and start getting an idea of how to help him. Not long after that, Cloudtail joins them with Bright, and they all train together
Cloudtail and Longtail finally get to non-aggressive terms in their mutual agreement that Bright and Swift can still be proper warriors, and will fight anyone who says otherwise. It isn’t long before the training starts showing signs of working what they set out to do, the other apprentices joining in with their training after a bit, though Darkstripe pretty much just drops Fernpaw off since he thinks Longtail is being stupid and wasting his time.
Longtail and Darkstripe have a falling-out about this even before the Sorrelkit incident. Longtail is just as pissed as Greystripe was when he learns that Darkstripe poisoned Sorrelkit. As he’s being exiled, Darkstripe calls Longtail soft and a coward for staying with Thunderclan under Firestar’s leadership. Longtail responds that he’d rather be soft than a traitor to his family and his home.

warrior cat designs/remakes (pt1)
u can use any of them with credit
Designs here are:
Firestar | Mapleshade | Darktail | Dovewing | Sasha | Hawkfrost | Scourge | Sleekwhisker | Ivypool | Blackstar | Ashfur | Bumblestripe | Crowfeather | Cloudtail | Ashfoot | Deadfoot | Swiftpaw | Redtail | Cinderpelt | Longtail (20 designs in this post! 20 so far)
based off of my old Firestar designs (i will post old designs separately). Made colors more soft! changed the pattern on head and removed the lighter underbelly.
didn’t change much from the previous design, i just really liked the old one. I did fix the stripes
found the old one ugly a bit all over the place (i rushed the old designs) so i decided to fix that. Made him a Siamese since that’s how i imagined him at first.
made the colors softer and work well together. stub tail.
The colors were too bright for my liking so i changed that. Her fur is more od a grayish purple since i found it pretty
the colors were too bright and didn’t flow well (it wasn’t my favorite design when i first made the old one) so i fixed it, giving him colors that flow well and his frosty eyes.
This is a design i didn’t have a design for previously. I originally was gonna make him half white and half black/dark grey but i just didn’t know how to do that and make it look good so i did this. his design is symmetrical except for what is shown that isn’t symmetrical
i liked the old design i made for her but i changed a bit made her fur a little less curly and made the colors softer
also really liked the old design but i just changed the face marking a little and the design on the back changed a bit. I was a huge fan of (Used to say Sagutoyas but uh after what she did nah man) so the design is inspired by her Ivypool’s design.
the old design was super rushed and ugly and i didn’t like it when i made it, probably my least favorite of the old designs. I also completely forgot what Blackstar looked like when i made it so i came up with this.
funky fire lad.
i find him and Ashfur uncannonly similar so i made their designs similar
floofy boy! he’s my favorite. Has design aspects from his parents.
i was not about to make a cat one full color and add no other colors, i just don’t like that. (i don’t like when a character has only one color on the fur to work with, it feels bland an boring so i try to avoid that). I was going to make some grey markings but my brain told me to do this instead
Crow mama. Made her foot kinda bubbly/ashy. ovalish eyes (i started focusing on eye shapes after i made this one.
love him. I know his foot is twisted but I thought his foot was just injured badly when i first read the books and its gonna stay that way
Idk, just winged it and i like it a lot! this is definitely at top 5 designs i liked the outcome of. His color sceme is also similar to Cloudtail for some reason? just wanted to do that. eyes are a bit pointy.
Stumpy tail! I hope his design is animation friendly enough. eyes point at the top.
BABEYYY! i messed up when i was coloring the lines but i already merged the layers so oh well
I think this is the most complex design i made but i noticed that a lot of Longtail designs are complex. Hope this is still animation friendly tho

and that’s it

Ashfur’s Revenge - Novella - Chapter Four
Previous Chapter Next Chapter
This novella is inspired by @dark-rose-designs ’s post.
“That’s right,” Hawkfrost hissed. “This is our chance to take revenge on Firestar for our father’s death. He could have tried to stop Scourge, but he just stood there and watched Tigerstar die, over and over and over.”
Ashfur was watching from the shadows. The plan worked perfectly. Birchpaw told Firestar that Blackstar was by the lake, and wanted to talk alone. Firestar had fallen into the fox trap and lost a life. Now, Ashfur waited to see if Brambleclaw would take the rest of his lives. He was surprised to see such an intense hatred in Hawkfrost’s eyes.
Well of course Hawkfrost would want revenge on Firestar! Firestar let his father die. I help him get revenge on Firestar and he’s helping me get revenge on Squirrelflight. Once she realizes her father is dead...She’ll be broken! Ashfur purred to himself with satisfaction.
“I won’t do it,” Brambleclaw meowed, moving over to help Firestar out of the trap. The next few moments seemed to move in slow motion. Hawkfrost and Brambleclaw began to fight, the two evenly-sized toms drawing blood from one another and then...and then Ashfur felt his heart being ripped out of his chest.
Brambleclaw drove the stake from the fox trap into Hawkfrost’s throat and blood began to soak the ground. Hawkfrost lurched awkwardly and began to laugh, “You think I did this alone? You think you’re safe in your own clan! You fool!” With a final bubbling laugh, Hawkfrost fell into the river and bled out.
Ashfur’s eyes felt wet. He watched Squirrelflight and Leafpool run from the woods to help Firestar out of the trap. “Brambleclaw saved me,” Firestar’s voice was raspy and he coughed up a splash of blood.
“Brambleclaw, thank you! You saved his life!” Squirrelflight pressed against her mate, wrapping her tail with his.
“We’ll get you home safely,” Leafpool let her father lean on her shoulder, and the four cats walked back into the forest.
The moment they left the clearing, Ashfur burst out of the woods and ran over to Hawkfrost’s body. He pressed his muzzle into Hawkfrost’s bloody fur, “I’m so sorry.”
This isn’t over. You will have your vengeance, and I will have mine. Hawkfrost’s deep voice rumbled in his ear. Ashfur turned to the sky, wondering if Hawkfrost was now watching him from above.
“Brambleclaw took you from me. He took Squirrelflight and you from me!” Ashfur snarled, stands of spit dripping from his jowls. “He will pay!” The gray tabby pulled Hawkfrost’s body from the lake and debated on whether or not to take the stake from his throat. He opted to leave it in, so that RiverClan would know what happened to their noble warrior.
Ashfur sighed and turned to leave back into his territory. With a sad final look at what could’ve been, Ashfur made his way into the woods. He ran full-sprint back to the ThunderClan camp, which was in full motion. Firestar was sitting in the medicine cat den, Sandstorm pressed up against him, and Squirrelflight sitting not too far off with Brambleclaw.
“Ashfur, there you are!” Birchpaw called from across the clearing. “I was afraid that the fox trap got you too.”
Ashfur shook his head. “I was near the WindClan border, what happened?”
“Hawkfrost set a trap for Firestar down by the lake. If Brambleclaw hadn’t saved him, he would’ve lost all his lives!” Birchpaw explained, his tail bristling.
“Brambleclaw gave up a chance to be leader to save Firestar, what a noble deputy,” Ashfur flashed a look towards the tabby tom.
“He’s the best!”
“What happened with Blackstar?” Firestar rasped from the medicine den.
Birchpaw froze and shrugged, looking down at his paws, “Some cat told me that Blackstar was looking for you. I didn’t get a look at him.”
“Must’ve been Hawkfrost,” Squirrelflight growled, “Thank StarClan he’s dead. I hope he rots!” Ashfur felt a sting across his pelt. Squirrelflight didn’t know the real Hawkfrost. But I guess I didn’t know the real you either. None of this would’ve happened if you had picked me from the start. Ashfur flicked his tail and told Birchpaw to clear out the nursery and then rest up.
Ashfur had his claws embedded deep into a ginger pelt. Green eyes looked up at him, brimming with despair. Squirrelflight? Ashfur flung the ginger to the side, seeing the long, thin tail. “Firestar!” Ashfur spat.
ThunderClan’s leader was bleeding deeply from his shoulder and claw marks decorated his muzzle and ears. “I’ll flay you!” Ashfur snarled, pouncing forward and biting down hard on Firestar’s neck.
Ashfur shot awake, his eyes staring at the bramble ceiling of the warriors’ den. Did I really just dream of killing my own leader? He sighed and rolled over, resting his chin on his paws. Not anything against him, he’s a wonderful leader, but Squirrelflight...Squirrelflight needs to suffer more than any other cat!
Ashfur pushed himself to his paws and stepped outside. The chill of leaf-bare hung in the air. Ashfur knew that in another halfmoon or so, leaf-bare would be upon them. He noticed the low fresh-kill pile and walked past Cloudtail, who was sitting guard in the entrance, and out in the forest.
Ashfur liked being alone even more than being around his clanmates now. The solitude brought him more comfort and security than all the warriors in the world. It was still dark, making for easy hunting. He couched low, swiftly bringing down a mouse. His muscles ached, he had been restless for the past few days.
A few moments passed and another mouse was added to his kills. He perked his ears, a sparrow was picking at the wet soil behind him. He stalked forward, using the hunting method that Hawkfrost had taught him. A pang of sadness pierced his heart as he pounced, landing on the sparrow and killing it with a bite. A wagtail too? Ashfur thought, seeing the black and white bird picking a tree nearby. Today must be my lucky day.
Ashfur came back into camp with all four of his kills either tucked under his chin or clamped in his jaws. “That’s quite a bit of success, how long have you been out?” Spiderleg asked, licking a paw and dragging it over his face.
“I went out right as the sun was peeking,” Ashfur explained, dropping his kills on the fresh-kill pile. He picked a stale mouse from the bottom, leaving the fresh prey for everyone else, and walked off to a corner where he could eat alone.
Ashfur couldn’t help the pure hatred that filled his heart the moment Squirrelflight walked out of the warriors’ den. Her fur was still ruffled from sleep and she was blinking herself awake. Brambleclaw walked out of the leader’s den, nodding at Squirrelflight, and then set about sending off the patrols for the day.
Ashfur saw her look over at him, her eyes soft. He turned away, facing the elders’ den as he ate his mouse. The stringy meat tasted bland, but he forced himself to eat now before the leaf-bare came and before he lost enough weight for Firestar to notice.
