Wild Life Session 8 Summary

Below the cut is massive spoilers for ALL deaths and wildcard information for session 8,

Wildcard: Shuffle the Deck!

All previous wildcards are randomly played throughout the session for a temporary time (The first lasted around 5 minutes? According to Scar) Beware, they can overlap! (According to Grian: all the wildcards have been slightly tweaked to be less overwhelming)

Reminder of Available Wildcards

1) Grow with jump, shift to shrink

Note: Minimum size capped at around 1.5 blocks, Maximium size capped at around 4 blocks

2) Ultimate Omnivore

Didn't appear at all by itself

3) Snailsssss

Much slower than before, innocuously deadly change b/c you will forget about it

4) Time Dilation

Speeds up the gametick much much faster

5) Triviabot!

All questions are "Hard" 5 answer choices & 5 minute timer, there is no potion effect reward for getting it right, instead its guaranteed to get a piece of Netherite Armor (not Helmet) or a Trident

6) Mob Randomization

This is by far the laggiest Wildcard and causes a server wide lagspike (knocked Bdubs out of Scar's rollercoaster)

7) Superpowers!!!

Chronology & archive of wildcards, especially the Trivia and Superpowers is at the bottom

Near the end of the session the Deck is Stacked agaist the lifers; ALL WILDCARDS ARE ACTIVE, occured when there was 9 people left

After Gem died or it was timed, not sure -> ALL WILDCARDS FADE: The ending is yours... Make it WILD *the wiki says after 1 minute 45 seconds of all wildcards being active they all deactivate, which is so specific I'm inclined to believe it?

Deaths

Zombie Deaths are not recorded here but it looks like these are the final death counters for the zombies - may be off by a little, hard to find moments when the Player List is on screen(Skizz's & Martyns carried over from last session -18 & -1 respectively) BigB(-2), Scar (-1), Impulse (-1), Martyn (-7), Lizzie (-2), Skizz (-23), Scott (-1), Jimmy (-1)

Bigb(1) was slain by BigbShell, Occured during Triviabot#2

Gem(2) blew up, "betrayed" by Etho(2) - the man w/ infinite and zero loyalties... I think he would be loyal to B.E.T? maybe? it never comes up sadly - and his wind charge underground trap

^^Etho(2) was slain by Ethostropod, instant karma for killing Gem trying to talk to Joel

impulseSV(2) was slain by iSnail, made invisible by Joel... wait Impulse was hiding in that cobblestone tower in Gem & Joel's base right above them ready to drop TnT... and he gets jumped by his invisible snail... oh wow the Impulse's curse is worse than I thought

GoodTimeWithScar(1) was slain by eSCARgo, latter half of Triviabot#2

LDShadowLady(1)blew up, ...collateral for Grian's machinations for revenge

^SolidarityGaming(1) blew up, Grian: “It was always gonna be like this Jim” *Evil Villain Laughter*

impulseSV(1) was blown up by a Creeper, placed by Etho haphazardly during the Joel teleport chase... oh, oh that's a baaaaaad way to go. Etho, to himself after: "Okay, I might've accidentally killed a few people there - I don't know who - I panicked a little bit."

Smallishbeans(2) was slain by Smajor1995(1), Scott tried to kill Joel this series and Joel - on Lizzie's advice - decided to NOT go for Scott for once... hah how the turns table, Scott got the jump on Joel in a sword swipe fight and won w/ 1 heart left... and was immediately shot by Etho w/ a crossbow

^ Smajor1995(1) was shot by Etho(1), "I was aimin' for Joel there!" he says to the G's -> Joel: "Thank you for killing Scott & avenging me instantly Etho, that's real sweet of you"... Etho: "You're welcome, Family n' stuff, you know, we- we look out for each other-" (Etho's crosshair was definitely over Joel, just like I'm pretty sure Etho was trying to actually mace hit Gem in Session 7)

GeminiTay(1) was slain by Vex, after answering a Trivia wrong and had a BIG curse when all Wildcards active and was swarmed by 8 zombie lifers

Etho(1) blew up, using a wind charge on the ground... the same way he killed Gem, and accidentally exploding himself with his own trap while trying to escape Pearl & Cleo (might have been because he was right on top of the TnT minecarts this time? w/ Gem he was on the side & still got hit for 3.5hp from the explosion + 3.5hp from the fall dmg... Joel took 7.5hp dmg, this time Pearl & Cleo both took 0 hp dmg)

Bdouble0100(1) was doomed to fall by Tango(1)... this is... this is THE THIRD PERMA DEATH TANGO HAS CAUSED FROM SPECIFICALLY THROWING WIND CHARGES AT THE SPIDERS NEST! (Bdubs slowly manually scrolls to his ender pearl instead of moving the 1/2 block to land in the water...) [Other than LimL... all of Bdubs' final deaths are heavily linked to betrayal and friendly fire...]

^^Tango(1) was shot by Smallishbeans(1), shortly after previous death... Tango fails a creeper explosions and gets knocked down to 0.5 hp then Joel snipes Tango from behind... Tango continuing the trend of explodificating himself... and anti-climatic final deaths

Finale Fight:

PearlesentMoon(1) was slain by Grian(1), Shot w/ a poison arrow by Joel (8hp) -> ender pearls up the Bam mountain, accidentally hits the BAMboo up high and takes pearl dmg(5.5hp) + fall dmg(2hp) Pearl:"OW! That was a horrible decision," -> Grian rushes in w/ a sword & swipes twice (1hp) -> (0hp)

ZombieCleo(1) was slain by Smallishbeans(1), Falls in the TnT hole early (9hp) and is out of the fight until Pearl dies (regen to 10hp) -> Shot by a Joel w/ a poison arrow (9.5hp) twice (7.5hp) while trying to knock Grian off Bam Mountain w/ wind charges, was successful but Grian ender pearl clutched again -> hit w/ a sword in the back by Joel (5.5hp) crit w/ sword (3hp) poison & another sword hit (1.5hp) and a last one to finish it off(0hp)

Renthedog(1) was doomed to fall by Smallishbeans(1), Starts the fight trapping himself in cobwebs, but at least Joel can't attack him through the silk w/ a Sword or Axe, MartRen: "I've trapped myself, like an idiot." -> doesn't join fight till Pearl dies -> Gets sword stabbed by Grian(8hp) -> regens to full (10hp) -> has an awkward cobweb sword fight w/ Joel -> Poison arrow (8hp) x2 + fall dmg (5hp) -> it's hard to tell but I think a combination of poison & fall dmg takes ren out (0hp)

Grian(1) was doomed to fall by Smallishbeans(1), ok it starts when Cleo knocks Grian off the mountain w/ a wind charge (8hp: mainly from previous fighting) -> Ender Pearl clutch kiinda, it didn't actually knock Grian far b/c the mountain isn't steep on this side fall damage(5hp) + Pearl dmg (3hp) -> unevenly regens to (5.5hp) and tries to shoot Joel from a tree (1/7 shots land) -> Joel pearls onto the tree and knocks Grian back (6h regens to 7hp mid fall)... -> take 7hp woth of fall damage(0hp)

The End:

Smallishbeans(1) hit the ground too hard... after going to his own trap to die... having it fail, then enderpearling himself to death. What a fitting way to go, gg Joel

Miscellaneous Events of Note

*Roughly organized by Lifer & Group but it's not clean,

The moment the wildcard was revealed... we all knew so many more gastropod related deaths were looming on the horizon. The Vibes when every team is trying to scrounge up every last resource and gear up because they know: this is the end.

The new snail for the revived Zombies is so cute... seeing esSCARgo turn into a zombie snail b/c it preformed its duty was... not as cute

Scar's failed exploding rollercoaster of death, the sloooooowwww stop of the TnT Minecart, it's hilarious (also Scott telling Scar to hit it w/ a bow so Scar doesn't explode himself) Scar and his a leap of faith rollercoaster... first a dog that is "the bane of my(Scar's) existence" is sent to go poof then Zombie Skizz is the sent to die to fall dmg by Necromancer Lizzie, Scar then tests it himself then convinces many people to take the ride on it, Lizzie sends her Trivia bot on a ride (a few people are confused by this), Impulse backs out (the bee's from failed trivia stung him???), Etho makes it just fine, Joel somehow survives (Scar took out the rails for where Joel should've landed so he would take fall damage but missed calculated by like 4 blocks... the momentum from spinning isn't consistent), Bdubs lags out of the cart and takes major fall damage (down to 2.5hp) Scar's attempt to start a raid at the G's base is cut super short by the randomized mob Wildcard Scar... was that lore, Scar what was that ending? Scar?

Scar & Grian both hate the bundles, Gem & Joel have been using them very effectively... meanwhile Etho has his gifted shulker which he is attempting to use as an auto-crossbow-turret... too bad he is trying to aim at Teleporter Joel

Lizzie saves Scar from an incredibly early snail death (first snail Wildcard) b/c he was distracted w/ adjusting audio levels when esSCARgo was right there behind him... In a very similar manner, Grian saves Lizzie from an early creeper death by shouting, Joel notices and kills the creeper Also Scar saves Etho from falling to the bottommost pit trap on the stairs of Bam Mountain (the same one that turned Scar red last session)

Lizzie & Jimmy's... method of getting the cursed leather armor off Lizzie... is definitely going in an out of context compilation

Jimmy almost dies to a trapped chest at Gem's barn (Which was set up by Gem) -> Scar dies -> Lizzie calls a meeting at the "secret" BAM bunker -> “It was always gonna be like this Jim” Grian, moments before not beating the watcher allegations and blowing Lizzie and Jimmy up Grian: "What?! What do you want from me Gem! I TOLD JIM, I WOULD MAKE SURE HE WOULD LEFT THIS SERIES BY MY HAND!!"

Gem sets two trapped chests in her own base, one at the barn that almost ends Jimmy's series and one under the car that Tango & Bdubs almost immediately set off (both do 0 dmg, I think the design is flawed) Gem zooms in on Ren's new Franken-MartRen skin w/ optifine... stares... processes this and says nothing, lmao. Also Gem running away from & down BAM mountain as a chicken is comedy gold (Grian makes an aboute sniper shot from the Spider's Nest to hit Gem). Gem makes Etho, Bdubs & Grians' snails invisibile during snails #3... oh no (she mistakes Grians' for Tangos b/c they are both red snails) although nothing ends up happening from this, Gem on red tries to convince Pearl & Cleo to ally w/ her since Impulse & Scott are dead... this is right before the ALL WILDCARDS drops & Gem is attacked by 8 zombie players and mobs and wrong trivia and dies... Gem never got her PvP or 1v1, she died to mobs and technically 1v8(9? Ren was also charging)

Joel's episode at ~5 mins Gem: "Wait Tango has killed you twice?! -we should end Tango's Series," aged well, Joel's teleporter chase is so funny, that plus Tangos speed chase in session 7, these things are so hilarious

BigB's episode at 17:35 "I feel like I'm going to die by my snail," well that also aged well BigB desperately making charisma checks to try and get diamond armor b/c the whole server is in diamond & netherite -> Gem rejects him -> Pearl gives diamond chestplate -> Etho gives diamond leggings

Ren also starting out the session on iron doing the exact same thing to end in full NETHERITE, intermediary diamond chest plate from Etho Ren took the fact//lore that he DNA stole from Martyn before his death and ran with it, mad respect (also Cherrifire thumbnail art on Rens channel//episode had me so confused for a second, haha I love it) Ren doing a deep lore monologue while trying (and failing to climb a ladder b/c of the height change Wildcard) has no right being as funny as it is 31:37 Ren's episode Ren got really lucky he didn't actually launch himself into oblivion during that final Wildcard b/c it ended while he was in the air

Grian tries so hard to hint to Ren what the wildcard is... Ren rolls a nat 1 on perception Grian almost has dejavu for his anti-fall damage superpowers being taken away whilst in the air Grian makes a ceasefire truce w/ B.E.T... then ends up exploding Bdubs' tower for like the 3rd time trying to kill Bdubs... b/c Grian was annoyed no one was dying Grian's schrödinger's snail during snails #2 genuinely jumpscared me Waiiiit Grian trapped Etho on a giant ~50 block tall stone pillar in the middle of no where and Etho didn't include it? Oh I see, Etho had fall immunity from his Triple Jump Superpower; it wasn't even an inconvenience Tango lands the wind charge on Grian in the same volley he team kills Bdubs, Grian makes the ender pearl clutch... Bdubs does not Grian: "Not like that, Joel! I'M NOT GOING OUT LIKE THAT! NOT LIKE SKIZZ, NOT LIKE MUMBO, NOT ON THAT TOWER!!! Not Today!" (I don't even know if Grian knows that it was specifically Tango w/ a wind charge every time that he just mentioned)

When the Grian temporarily ends up w/ the G's as in they all had the same idea to snoop on the BAMboozlers at the start of the session... hilarious

Also the G's constantly talking about how they have to take down Joel, while Joel is taking it easy and not trying to kill Scott for once... uno-reverse card of the century

Pearl was so close to landing a really good fly-by hot guy hit on Joel w/ a bow during the teleporter chase (it landed later, but it onl did 3hp of damage) Pearl & Bdubs both failing so hard at trying to kill Gem this session, its funny and wet cat, or in Pearl's episode name & what Gem likes to call people like Etho or WL Pearl, "pathetic", Scott, Pearl & Cleo set up a lot of creaking hearts at Gem & Joel's base but they were kinda just minor nuisance, then they were so lost after the Scotts were eliminated, to be fair Pearl's main objective (also kinda Cleo & Scotts but less so) was to get Impulse the win... and Impulse dies first, neither tragedy in betrayal nor triumph in crowning a victor, just stagnation as the necromancer becomes the zombie (R.I.P Impulse, you died to the wild goose chase on Joel...)

...continuing the consistent trend of Impulse always getting screwed over by the victor of the season, least so in 3rd but Shot by Scott in LL-> Bdubs & Impulse lost the 2v1 vs Pearl in DL -> ...Martyn's lava bucket in LimL -> Shot by Scar in SL -> Invisible Snailed (potion set by Joel) + Exploded while trying to catch Joel in WL... one day Impulse, one day you will beat your curse; for winning ends dying by your own hand (well for some winners it does... others...) [apologies, I don't know what happened in RL b/c I get motion sick trying to watch it]

Not Impulse having two left feet while dancing and that being the reason why he lost his totem of undying last session to fall damage when he had teleport powers... (hotkeys on foot-petals...) I don't think I've ever heard Impulse gremlin laugh like at 23:02 in his video before

I think the various G's spent more time at Gem & Joel's base than Gem & Joel,

Scott tells the audience that he got permission from Pearl to match her red life hoodie look -> Superpowers#1 hits, now they are truly matching, lmao Scott punts Etho off Bam Mountain b/c he had the Rodeo Super Knockback Punch, and it's just so tempting as a red name looking at a yellow name (Scott really really wanted to also punch Scar off the same ledge as revenge for his Green life death, but didn't)

Etho falls in a "death hole" while trying to set up his wind charge mine traps, you may think he needed the negated fall damage from his super power but it was only like a 10 block drop I think

Bdubs spent the whole season kinda trying to fly under the radar and not make any enemies -> this session he steals string & stuff from everyone and desperately tries to kill Gem... Gem doesn't even notice him trying... too much under the radar But also Ren self admittedly used a similar tactic and both of them placed higher than Gem

B.E.T last past the chaos of ALL WILDCARDS then fall like dominos one after the other

(or banned for being too effective of a zombie, lmao) Martyn & Skizz return as Zombies, later all dead players join them (Scar & Jimmy a little delayed) *The people who got the Zombie powers always sent them against Gem & Joel... zombie apocalypse F&F Family au anyone?

Astral Projection seems to disguise the user as a mob(spider) when out of body??? Not sure why pearl was a spider? Joel looked normal while astral projecting

I think the time slow was removed from the pool of abilities?

During the final wildcard it is hard to tell what a lot of people's abilities are, marked w/ ???

Not a change but the Mimic always seems to copy the Teleporter's Superpower and I think that is funny
