I've been learning how to use the screentone on Medibang, and I may or may not have been having a lot of fun with it.

Fun fact I learned while coloring this! I don't know if this is true for later volumes, but in the Yugioh manga, which I was using for screentone reference, Yami Yugi's eyes get colored but normal Yugi's don't.

Lady! How do I help my SnowAgumon beat the heat?!

Hi there friend, I'm gonna assume for the purposes of this ask you live in the Earth's northern hemisphere where it's currently summer and that, like us, you probably live close to the equator.

There are a few things you could do if your partner is overheating, but the main ones I'm going to suggest are to create an environment for them to return to when they overheat and to keep them well hydrated. The main way you'll do this is by adjusting the settings on your digivice and making sure its life support system is set to accommodate cold-weather species. This will allow your SnowAgumon to load into a cooler environment whenever it's too hot outside for them. Additionally, make sure the little fella gets plenty of water. It may not be strictly necessary, but it will help lower their core temperature!

Numbuh 362's partner is the shy and gentle Sistermon Blanc (Rachel calls her Blanc for short). They both met after Rachel joined the Kids Next Door. Blanc helps Rachel with her job as Supreme Leader and makes sure she takes breaks so she doesn't overwork herself. Blanc is also known as the Supreme Digi-Leader to the other Digimon and has a secret crush on Guilmon. Rachel's D.I.G.I.V.I.C.E. is cyan.

Numbuh 86's partner is the prideful and arrogant Floramon. They both met after Fanny joined the Kids Next Door. Floramon is the only one who can calm Fanny down and she's basically Fanny's only friend. That's why they're so close to each other and why Fanny trusts her than anybody. Floramon doesn't hate boys like Fanny but acts all high and mighty around male Digimon. Other than that, she's pretty nice to others. Fanny's D.I.G.I.V.I.C.E. is light green.

SnowAgumon is stern and strict but shows his soft side to Patton, the cadets and Digimon cadets. Patton's D.I.G.I.V.I.C.E. is dark green.

For once I'll defend Pokémon:

Last time I looked Digimon (Digital Monsters) leaned towards science fiction, hence the fixation with robots, computers and all things artificial, as you'd expect from a cyber pet game.

Digivolution causes twisted freaks to imply genetic engineering and man-made abominations, since even the 'kyewt' ones are ugly.

Pokémon (Pocket Monsters) is supposed to be a fantasy with it's roots in the actual world, meaning evolution has to abide by the laws of nature, with even the most unreal designs fitting that theme as a necessity.

Whilst I despise the lazy, 'Porygon's Cagoule' routine PoCo's been peddling for years, where all you need is a paint job and bobble hat and —BOOM!— it's a totally different Pokémon (honest!), whether that be Shinies, Forms, Megas, Gigas, Doxies or...

Whatever this is supposed to be.

Here We Go Again!

Wanna hear about another Digimon crossover I'm currently stockpiling art for because I can and I like crossovers? Good! This sounds a bit wild, but its a Digimon/Yugioh crossover that takes place six years before the start of Yugioh, when most the main cast is about ten years old.

I don't have a whole lot of plot for the idea, but I have lots of fun character interactions! At this point in time, Yugi only knows Anzu. Jounouchi's parents haven't divorced yet, Kaiba and Mokuba are still at the orphanage, Bakura hasn't gotten the Millennium RIng, basically all the bad stuff hasn't happened to anybody yet. The people who go to the Digital World are Yugi, Anzu, Jounouchi, Honda, Bakura, Shizuka, Seto and Mokuba.

This means that Kaiba (not even Kaiba yet!) is a lot nicer, and is actually pretty friendly with Yugi since they both love games. There's actually a bit of competition between him and Jounouchi to get friendship time with Yugi. Mokuba and Shizuka get along pretty well since they're the youngest of the group and are always trying to break up the fights between their big brothers. Bakura is shy but not nervous of people getting hurt because no Ring troubles. Just think of it 'if everybody met early.'

They have Digimon partners of course. (I actually worked out Evolution lines, I'll show those in a minute.) Yugi has a Kudamon (from Egypt, but nobody knows that, not even Kudamon), Joey has an Impmon, Anzu has a Floramon, Honda has a Hagurumon, Shizuka has a Piyomon, Kaiba has a SnowAgumon, Mokuba has a ToyAgumon, and Bakura has a Tukaimon (also from Egypt and also nobody knows that!)

I'm still worldbuilding, but the Digital World is currently divided into ten separate areas, and all of them are in an uneasy truce with each other. There are rulers of the zones, using the power of the ancient crests. (I don't know as much lore about the Crests as I should, so I took creative liberties.) The crests are in ancient temples that were once used to protect the Digital World, but when the temples decayed, the protection power did too, and now the lords of the zones use the power that the temples give off. Holding the Crest itself would grant them even more power, but nobody can remove them. Cue having Digidestined! The YGO people are called to the Digital World by something (I'm not sure what yet) because the temples have nearly lost all their amplifying power, and the Crests need to be restored to protect the Digital World. So it's a quest to the different Zones to get the Crests. Some Zones are more understanding than others, and evil forces want to steal the recovered Crests from the Digidestined. I'm thinking there's an ancient evil the Crests are holding back, but nobody really knows that.

As for who gets what Crest, Yugi has the Crest of Kindness, Joey has the Crest of Friendship, Anzu has the Crest of Love, Honda has the Crest of Hope, Shizuka has the Crest of Purity, Bakura has the Crest of Sincerity, Kaiba has the Crest of Knowledge, and Mokuba has the Crest of Light. I added a Crest though, to make it an even ten, and also because the last two Crests actually belong to Kudamon and Tukaimon; the Crest of Courage and the Crest of Shadows. Neither 'mon is quite sure why though.

As for the Evolution lines, I really want to share these because I spent A LONG TIME trying to figure them out, and they still might be changed. (Why does Digimon Evolution have to be so convoluted?!)

After everybody's time in the Digital World is over, with a promise to see everybody again, the Yugioh plot continues as normal. Until Yugi solves the Millennium Puzzle. It calls Kudamon from the Digital World, and he periodically possesses Yugi to help him out. (Yugi assumes this is because his wish was to see all the friends he made in the Digital World again because he has friends, he just doesn't know where all of them are.) So again, normal Yugioh plot except there's now a Kudamon being Yugi's Other Self. You can see where this is going.

(Kudamon was once a Pharaoh of Ancient Egypt. Surprise surprise. And look at that! Tukaimon was a Thief King! Fancy that!)

The other partner Digimon slowly appear too, it takes until after Duelist Kingdom for all of them to appear. (And Kaiba has made this program that deletes any instances of Digimon activity from the internet. He's a jerk, but he protects what he cares about.)

I'm leaning on anime continuity for this next bit with the Digital World arc. No, it isn't smack in the middle of Battle City, it's actually a month or so after that, and it's different too, with the already fading boundaries between the real world and the Digital World fading more and more.

Everything in here is subject to change, I'm still tinkering with the plot and plot reasons, and how much canon I'm planning to keep or throw away. I just needed to get this put down, somewhere. If you got this far, thanks for reading my ramblings. Sorry this is so disorganized.

Digimon biology is absolutely fascinating, with individuals being able to evolve and adapt constantly to give them the best chance at survival. But this ability to adapt doesn't stop at digivolution; sometimes a Digimon's most fundamental code will spontaneously alter itself, creating what's called a species variant! Today we're going to look at a few of these variations and see what sets these Digimon apart from their "vanilla" counterparts!

Snow - Snow variants occur when a Digimon not suited to colder climates finds themself in a situation where evolution is not possible, and neither is migration. The most common examples of this variant are SnowAgumon and SnowGoblimon, whose original variants prefer temperate and arid climates respectively. Snow variants are recognizable by their lack of pigmentation and use of ice-based attacks!

Virus - These are the most common type of species variant, and occur when a non-virus species incorporates data from a non-sentient virus into their digicores! Contrary to popular belief, these variants are not more aggressive than their non-virus counterparts as the only thing that really changes is their coloration and typing.

Metal/Platinum - In contrast to the previous entry on this list, this specific type of variation is only found within virus type species! More specifically, this variant is found within the Numemon, Sukamon, and Etemon families. There's actually a lot of debate about whether or not this counts as a variant in the "traditional" sense as several of these Digimon actually digivolve into these new forms, but I went ahead and included them anyway.

Toy - And to round out the list we have the Toy species, of which there are only two! ToyAgumon and its sub-variant, BlackToyAgumon, are the only known Toy Digimon which makes them something of an anomaly. Researchers are unsure exactly what caused this adaptation, but whatever the original mutation was left their code unstable enough to actually allow for further variance. Both of the previously mentioned variants actually have an additional variation called the Clear species, whose bodies are semitransparent!

The amount of variation within Digimon is amazing, and mirrors us in so many ways! People will always be affected by their circumstances, and it's how we adapt to them to survive that makes us who we are. As always, send us any questions y'all have and we hope y'all have a great day!
