Snoatl and Squeak have always been up there for me haha...just two very sweet boys in love C: Snoatl's a lutist who partially grew up in Florabrisa and travels around Wind in the summer to play at local festivals (only ever as a filler act though), and Squeak was from Fire but he loves going to music festivals and would sneak in to as many as he can throughout Sornieth, and of course he inevitably heard Snoatl playing and fell in love. and Squeak isn't exactly hard to pick out in a crowd, so Snoatl eventually noticed this guy who kept showing up to his shows and seemed to pay more attention to his music than most did. So Snoatl eventually ended up talking to him and asking him about his life, and Squeak had no home or family, so he invited him back to Florabrisa and they pretty quickly became and official couple c:

I’m a bit late to be posting my dragon couples, but here’s Pip and Thorn! They like writing ridiculously sappy poetry for each other and arguing about which teas are the best. If you see them, you’re OBLIGATED to show me YOUR dragon couples!

"I can't trail him anymore, it's like at a certain point 'e just vanishes." "I don't like the idea of him being alone out there, Pig- he's a child-" "I'm well aware, Sow, it ain't like I raised the boy too-... Now don't look at me like that, we're gonna find 'im, but maybe it's best if we regroup with the girls." "...Head him off at the godfall?" "Of anywhere he'd know where to find us, it'd be there, Darlin'." "...alright. I just, hope he's okay. I'll ask Dethrone to... give the area one last fly-over before we head to Light."

There's some sense of homesickness, as he crests the hill to the sweet scent of flowers and a bustling, highly-populated clan on the hills below. Once again, Runt thinks about perhaps going home- or maybe waiting out the godfall in Light, where his father had insisted they'd finally let him join in on the hunt- to seek magic in the aftermath of collapse- he thinks about when his clutchmate Whelp earned her cleaver, the stories she told before joining a pirate crew sailing out not far from here.

He forgets every desire to return home, however, when his footing becomes unsound and he tumbles down the edge of a steppe toward the sound of music slowly growing louder with every little scrabble for footing or bounce against stone. he sputters to a stop at the feet of a Coatl with a lute, laying flat on the ground for a moment to just listen to the pleasant sounds. "No I'm okay! I just need a minute... or a bunch of minutes."

Once he's gathered his bearings (And the nice coatl has helped him back to his feet) Runt takes stock of where he is. He's not sure he's ever seen this many dragons and flowers in one place, it's a little overwhelming- and well aware that 'overwhelming' usually ends in "viciously destroying the nearest wooden/bone/metal that one time when he got really really worked up/cardboard object' he figures it's probably best to move on quickly. "I like your music! It's a lot softer than the stuff mommy and daddy like, their music goes... goes BWAAAAUGH NEENLENEENEELENEEE. And then somebody screams and makes computer sounds." He dusts himself off, clamoring up on a nearby stump. "Could you tell me where I'm at, Mister? and maybe um, how I could get home?"

It's a short conversation over a brief walk to speak to one of the leaders about what to do about Runt making his way home where the hatchling remembers to introduce himself, and tells Snoatl he likes his name, too!

Tarragon is a comfort Runt didn't know he quite needed on this journey- especially after a spill like that! Quiet and kind he's an easy reminder of Miss Mortis from back home at the circus- but he's far cuddlier than the nocturne's sharp edges made sharper with bone. He listens, as Runt explains what's happened- He's not sure how he managed to get this far away! There was the circus near home, and the tavern outside of nature- and then, of course, the puddle he dove through spitting him out in the sea of a thousand currents only to spit him out AGAIN here, in wind, near Florabrisa- he's trotted all of Sornieth in the last few days and boy, his little feet are starting to get tired.

And maybe he misses his parents. and his stupid stinky giant sisters who are going to get their cleavers in the next godfall- oh!

"Mister Tarragon- could you show me how to find my way to uh, Light territory?" And after a moment of consideration, Tarragon assures him he can do just that.

Runt's goodbye is a little more touchy than maybe most would have expected, the hatchling quick to cuddle up into the tundra's mane as a thank you. He leaves a handful of treasure and a few broken crayons behind, mostly because that's all he's got on hand to pay the kindness of Snoatl and Tarragon back, and Sow was adamant about the importance of exchanging payment for information just as much as goods.

"I'm sorry I messed up some of your flowers when I fell into them! I promise once I'm big I'll come clean up my mess!" while that's likely a long way off, Runt reasons he'll never forget the promise, as he's sure never to forget the kindness of the dragons of Florabrisa.

been doing a fair amount of doodling and i felt some came out decently so i wanted to share haha

i didnt have any references on me, but felt like trying to design ancients Estelle (aberrration), Vroman (veil), and Strix (gaoler)! poor Strix’s design kind of flopped because i could not draw gaolers, pinions, or owls from memory dafds but i’m quite happy with Estelle and Vroman! they both have six legs because ancients deserve to have six legs. and if Betony’s accent actually works out i think i know what direction i want to try for designing for Vroman now c:

second page is just some misc doodles. i havent drawn my wildclaw Squeak in ages and i like how he turned out c: and naturally drew his bf Snoatl too! also first time drawing an aberration on four legs instead of two dfasd that doodle isnt any particular dragon in my lair. there’s also Tildr (tundra), Cherrytide (guardian), Betony (aberration), Jovial (lower coatl whose design i couldnt quite remember tbh asdf), my pre-fr dragon oc Attic, and my giratina oc Hectare!

the next one i actually drew some days back because i wanted to design my aberration Murmillo, and his weed cat (obelisk) gf Cloudsinger! Murmillo has a really cool accent outfit by tomswifty c:

then for the doodles on the bottom we have Reuben (snapper) and Mirim (guardian) because i realized ive never drawn a fullbody pic of Mirim and that needs to be fixed asap..reuben too tbh. and then just a cute full body of Moraine and a little headshot of Tarragon off to the side too haha..gotta stay sharp on my progen designs. and then lastly a gijinka of Yazeena! i thought he came out well! all the other gijinka doodles i did alongside him will not see the light of day however sdfads

his parent lair had long been inactive, he was the first and only nest from his parents, in 2016. but omggg i just checked and. they’re back. and they just had a nest this month..........snoatl suddenly has three new sisters..........

Day 5: Favorite Plague Dragons!

Huh..I had less Plague friends to choose from than I expected haha. Anyway I love these three so much! My top 3 are: Zaffre, Snoatl, and Myosotis!

Zaffre may have more of affinity for Lightning, but she has striking red eyes and she never had difficulties thriving in her native Scarred Wasteland. She is scarily competent with survival haha.... She was the first non-progen dragon in my lair, along with Tamarind, both of whom were a welcome gift from a friend c:

Snoatl I got when I still pretty new! After reading Coatl’s lore, I thought it’d be fun to look for an albino coatl! And I found one pretty cheap too haha. Snoatl is a good dragon! Though actually in lore he’s native to fire flight but shhh

Myosotis is a relatively newer dragon in my lair, though I’ve had her a little while now! I stumbled upon her in the AH when looking for a nice pearlcatcher and it was the tail end of pride month so... I couldn’t help but be happy about her colors! Plus I kind of love that she ties into the Plague flight being the best place to trans your gender haha.

Snoatl & Squeak, 5, 14, 40? (if it hasn't already been asked :P)

5. Nicknames? Pet names? Any in-jokes?

Squeak often calls Snoatl “Sno” but so does everybody tbh... and I’m pretty sure Squeak started as a nickname but he dropped his birth name long ago haha

As for more specialized ones, I can picture Snoatl saying more cutesy stuff like “Squeakers” or “Squeaky-Toy” but only behind closed doors. Snoatl also sometimes call him “Pip” a la ‘pipsqueak’! And Squeak calls Snoatl “my snowangel” or even ‘rockstar’ c:

And in-jokes, Snoatl will jokingly call Squeak his #1 fan, which honestly isn’t even wrong, but Snoatl’s usually more humble than that. (And tbh Squeak probably started calling himself that first haha) When Snoatl wants to be more self-deprecating, he’ll call Squeak his only fan, but Squeak is pretty quick to shoot that down. Squeak also gets called a Wildclaw. Extra emphasis on the wild cuz boy is he a wild child and proud of it haha

14. Anything they both dread? 

Oh hm this is tough! Let’s see... Squeak has admittedly picked up numerous bad habits through the course of his music festival-filled youth. He’s been trying to clean up his act both both him and Snoatl fear Squeak falling off the wagon. Snoatl will of course support and try to help him through it though! Squeak also definitely dreads the idea of his parents somehow finding him after almost ten years dfdsaf not likely at least. As for things concerning Snoatl, he’s actually one of the biggest sources of income for Florabrisa so he dreads that if concerts lose interest in having him play, that money will completely dry up. Granted Florabrisa doesn’t super need the money, but it’s nice to have for special occasions. Snoatl likes treating the lair (and especially treating Squeak haha)! Squeak is confident in Snoatl’s abilities though so hopefully things will be fine for the foreseeable future!

40. Any special memories? Do they have a special place they like to go to?

Definitely when they first met! Snoatl noticed Squeak had been regularly showing up to his performances and was very clearly into his music (most dragons in his audience were just there for whatever acts were following haha) So after a show Snoatl decided to reach out and thank him, and treated him to nachos! And ended up inviting Squeak back to Florabrisa since it turned out Squeak was a homeless vagrant. Corn chips aren’t a common sight in Florabrisa, so it’s always special for them to get nachos at music festivals c:  I guess that could kind of count as their special place? Just chilling after one of Sno’s shows haha...

i really need to make a solid map of florabrisa so i can have more specific locations within the lair figured out dsafdasg

the truck and realization that i got dumped through a text then ghosted just smacked into me at speeds that shouldnt be possible, and i, having seen some dragon therapy posts before, have a mighty need to see nice, soft dragons
