I've found a treasure trove of old fighting game manhua scans and I have become kind of obsessed with them. I'm not sure of how official they are 100% but I know the SVC Chaos one got an official english published release, so that's gotta count for something. Through reading and obsessing over them, I found out their contents can get quite bizarre. The events on this poll specifically (sans the one i made up) are from both of the Capcom vs SNK manhuas and the SVC Chaos manhua

Not at all unique is the fact that, as soon as I get asked a question about my top faves, I immediately draw a blank on everything I've ever enjoyed or watched, ever. 😅 I'm sure that's not the first time you've heard that. No need to apologize, as you can probably tell from other asks, my answers change regularly. This is my anime/manga blog so without any regard for order:

Life Lessons with Uramichii-Oniisan (anime) - depending on how old you are, there's a cognitive dissonance that occurs when you're no longer younger than nor the same age as your favorite protagonists in the stories you grew up with. This is the anime that eases the blow of that like the ibuprofen you now keep at home, at work and in your purse. And it's hysterical.

Attack on Titan (anime/manga) - There is something to be said for the eloquence of the exposition in this story which, when you know Isayama spent years shopping his art around to no avail because of the roughness of his style, makes perfect sense. While refining his art, he had all this time to pore over the story, hide little easter eggs so there'd be one string that gathered up all seeming loose ends. Just an incredibly interesting story to unfold. It's the kind of thing you wish you could read again for the first time but that's laughable because, every time you read it, you notice something you hadn't the last time.

To Your Eternity (anime) - This is the Grey's Anatomy equivalent in anime. Like, oh. You're emotionally constipated and need a good cry? Pick an episode at random. Watch a whole season if you're really about that life.

Sasaki to Miyano (manga/anime) - TBH I tied between this or Horimiya. They are not the same story but hold similar places in my heart. What I love about Sasaki to Miyano is how delicate it is. Yea, slow burn, whatever. But no, it just kind of gives Miyano space to come to terms with himself and Sasaki is the safety net that accepts him in all forms. Can love be this sweet?

Goodbye, Eri (manga) - Fujimoto is off the wall. Chainsaw Man is an excellent representation of that. Seemingly unfocused and always good for some sort of shock factor. I've been wanting to write, for some time, about how Fujimoto is like a trickster of a genie but I'll shelve that for the time being. Goodbye, Eri's disjointed narrative as if told in photographs and the art style which shows movement despite its static medium. It's a really elegant piece with a plot twist you don't see coming because, of course you don't. That, in fact, is part of the whole message of the story, isn't it?

Ranma 1/2 (anime) - Nostalgia. This was the first anime I ever watched that I locked into. It started me on a path of drawing, it encouraged me to seek out other shows.. this series is what started it all wayyy back then (okay, not that far back then, this was in the 00's). Tsundere x tsundere, yes but also just the immediate identification with characters who couldn't authentically be themselves because they kept bending and breaking under external pressures. I could very much relate and empathize even if the chaos of their universe was too fanciful for my own. Also, pretty sure Rumiko Takahashi is the longest running mangaka with consistent chapters in Shonen Jump for the last 40+ years is wild.

Vinland Saga (anime) - I honestly don't even know what to say about this story. But I think my favorite observation is a post I saw someone make where they wrote "No one will know the violence it took to become this gentle" with a picture of Thorfinn. And they were so poignantly right. Phenomenally twisted revenge story that is not at all satisfying. 10/10.

Link Clink (donghua) - This show is a vibe. If it hasn't been on a recommendation list yet, it's coming. The music, the art, the unfurling back story of the main characters as they untangle the lives of others? It manages to be both gutting and cerebral at the same time. Like every time I watch I'm like... I need to read the source material because the complexity of the concurrent storylines makes it such a head scratcher as to the larger plot.

Jujutsu Kaisen (anime/manga) - *Gestures vaguely to the rest of my blog.* We're still in the throes of how this story is going to play out which is nerve wracking and exciting for all its possibilities. I hold out a lot of hope that we'll see some stunning exposition in future chapters that we won't see coming.

Belle (anime) - It's just beautiful. 😘👌🏾 I talk a lot about my niece and nephew because I've turned them into my dorky little mini-me's. Also, being an aunt is like the best job. Belle is a movie that had them both gagged with the animation. If a show or series can get both of them to put their ipads, books, art supplies, etc. down, then I know I put them onto something special. Honestly, anything I enjoy with them makes it that much more special to me, personally.

I was reading another fanfic where Wei Wuxian gets thrown in the burial mounds, struggles to survive, and resorts to cannibalism to do so.

Sat with that for a few minutes and then wondered, "What are the symptoms of prion disease?"

It doesn't quite work, but it would have been an interesting explanation for his slow descent into more and more unstable behaviour.

Had this thought a while ago but I don't have the brain capacity right now to make it more eloquent so I'll just copy, paste, and lightly edit for typos.

So Wen Yuan got away from Wei Ying, found Lan Zhan, calls him dad.

Wen Yuan doesn't call Wei Ying dad, so he's not calling for him.

So.

Either he latched on to Lan Zhan cause he's scared and starts calling for his dad.

Oooooooor.

What if he ran up to Lan Zhan and latched onto him and started crying for dad because Lan Zhan looks like his dad.

Remember those guys saying how they had the same nose? Yeah.

I've always been very confused when it comes to WWX status within the Jiang sect.

He's a disciple, he's treated like a disciple, but then suddenly people start calling him a servant.

Can servants be disciples? Is it a case of not being gentry but you're part of the sect so that means you're called servant?

There's aren't any other disciples being called servants that I've noticed.

Hey! I saw that you're into mdzs and I've been thinking abt getting into it but idk where to start :') Also, what anime are you into? I just caught up with the SnK manga and I've been internally screaming for the past few weeks along with watching the anime haha

hello!!! omg okay so i’m assuming u haven’t read a danmei novel before?? it’s chinese literature but they r LONG long and it’s basically romantic gay stories lol (there’s also a lesbian counterpart which i won’t get into rn or we’ll be here forver rip)

but for mdzs!!! there’s so many adaptations (novels, manhua, live action, anime etc) i personally started with the live action drama (called the untamed) on netflix and i was HOOKED (i fell in love with wang yibo— the actor who plays lan wangji) although it is recommended to have a little bit of knowledge of what goes on bc it CAN be confusing with the time skips n characters!! since u read manga i would recommend to start with the manhua although it is incomplete however afterwards u can jump into the live action to finish n not get confused by the beginning!! here’s a carrd with all the links and information! feel free to message me for any more info or like just to scream about what happens!! bc i’m STILL screaming after an entire year😭

also for anime!! i’m into rewatching haikyuu n calling it a day despite my ever growing watch list.... AJDJJ okay but also i’ve watch so many but not any newer ones like i’ve only watched the first season of attack on titan but i do know spoilers bc of the manga however i don’t think i’ll continue it tho :(!! i’m also caught up in the manga for bnha but not the anime,,, i’m halfway through mob psycho n that anime of the genius scientist i cant remember the name rn but he looks like a celery i think?? i honestly cant rmemeber the name of those i’ve watched but it’s been A LOT,,, way too many ..

My taste can range from fluffy to borderline f*cked up (Contains Spoilers if you haven’t read the works )

Somewhere last year i decided to delve into the world of Manhwa and Manhua instead of just sticking to Manga the reason being that Manga tended to be quite repetitive and have a lot of BL content with p*rn but no plot and that doesn’t really appeal to me personally. Plus Korean and Chinese comics tend to have more depth and character development than Japanese comics.

So 19 Days is the cutest shit I’ve ever read and everytime I see an update I TALK AND TYPE IN CAPLOCK COZ ASDFGHJKL.

The story revolves around two childhood best friends,Jian Yi and Zhang Xi. Jian Yi is your ball of sunshine and energy and is hella dorky. He however has bad luck or is it good..? as he always finds himself in a #YES HOMO situation which can be and is misread by third parties. Jian Yi is very touchy feely and gets very handsy with Zhang Xi. Zhang Xi however always fights back with violence.

Most of the chapters go on that way and I seriously thought it was a cute guys doing cute shit sorta thing until one fine day the author decided to slap us with feels and actual plot by making Jian Yi come out of the closet and do what he had always wanted to do.  That was the most devastating shit I read (And I thought about it for weeks on end) because seeing Jian Yi crying and feeling like garbage for his sexuality broke me. However since that,Zhang Xi has been very kind to Jian Yi and has never lashed back at him angrily like he used to before. It seems like Zhang Xi loves his best friend (platonically for now) regardless and will be more careful about what he says and does to him.

This is shounen ai so the most you can expect in hugging and kissing. The tag could change though though it’s unlikely

There’s another couple possibility in this too but I’m more attached to this one. 

And then there’s Killing Stalking. This is the kind of shit i live for and dig. It’s toxic as f*ck and horrible. I LOVE IT

Korean Works tend to be quite gory and graphic but this,this surpassed the usual stuff I read.

When I first jumped into this I though oh look, gangrape and the typical unpopular,lesser attractive scrawny kid falls for popular guy who saved him from bullying. This is gonna be meh. BUT BOY WAS I HELLA WRONG

IT IS SO MUCH MORE. 

It revolves around two MCs; Yoon Bum and Sangwoo. Yoon is hella infatuated with Sangwoo and develops stalkerish tendencies. He illegally enters visits Sangwoo’s home when he went out and attempts to fap to Sangwoo’s scent.Having done that he chances upon a secret and finds out that Sangwoo was not who he thought he was. He is batshit crazy and keeps naked and abused victims in his basement .SnK isn’t the only thing with secrets in a basement. 

The plot twist happens when the stalker is the one who’s creeped out,is discovered ,has his legs broken and turns into a hostage. Didn’t see that coming did ya?

The story is so well thought out and leaves you at the edge of your seat. Every chapter will have you going “No Sangwoo,please don’t. OUCH! EVEN I FELT THAT.”

Sangwoo is the kind of guy you love and hate at the same time. Love coz goddamn he’s fucked up and complex and hate coz goddamn, he can be super infuriating at times

He will nurse you back to health and shower you with love after making you consume food you prepared to kill him with ,but he picked up that you were smiling too much and made you eat first.

Then he’ll bring home another hostage and make you’ll play a game of cards . The winner gets to live while the loser dies. He’ll even help you win by telling you which card to choose ONLY TO PLAY WITH YOUR HEART AND MAKE YOU CHOOSE THE WRONG ONE LAST MINUTE COZ HE LOVES TORTURING THE ONE HE “LOVES”.But hey,you lost? Don’t worry,He was gonna let you live anyway. BUT SOMEBODY HAS TO DIE,SO YOU ARE GONNA BE HIS ACCESSORY TO MURDER.

The gore may put off a number of people but I can’t help but be impressed by it. The games Sangwoo plays ,his psychotic nature,the unpredictability is certain scenes, the fear he instills in me,as a reader are always amazingly captivating. This one contains mature content, not only the sex kind, so you’ve been warned

 The breakdowns Yoon experiences,the way Sangwoo goes from 0 to 100 and 100 to 0 both touch my heart and scare the shit out of me. So yeah,read this shit. it’s good
