a/n: it's been a hot minute since i've wrote and posted anything at all lmao. hange has been consuming my every waking moment and all of my dreams, so i had to write something about them. please don't come for me for the format, i like to use stylized lowercase in shorter drabbles.

one feminine pronoun used for hange

all-consuming grief, so overwhelming you could nearly choke on it as if it was a drink of water swallowed down the wrong way. it encompassed her entire being; from thoughts, to actions, visions, and dreams. mostly dreams. replaying behind her eyes as she desperately tried to get a wink of sleep, the sight of the love of her life dropping to the ground like a meteor: lifeless and burning hot, shriveling away into nothing. the silent screams that left her as she herself dropped to her knees, the arms of someone wrapping tightly around her from behind - willing, hoping, pleading to help her sorrow in this time. his incomplete hand tugging her back into his chest, holding her as she sobbed into his white button-up. his own melancholy silent, being this wasn't the first time he'd dealt with such a magnificent loss. "this is what hange wanted," levi's deep voice would try to comfort, incomplete gaze meeting hers as she tried to form words, tongue thick with heartbreak. when she did find the will to speak, levi felt his own heart shattering for her. "but how am i meant to live without her?" she started with a broken-gasp, shooting up from the bed so quickly it almost felt like the air around her was protesting. the form beside her shifted, raising up slowly onto his elbows, peeking through the pitch-blackness at her forlorn shadow. "mh, it was just a dream," he tried to comfort as best as possible, hands seeking out her waist blindly. once in contact with her skin, he pulled her down against his chest, pressing a gentle kiss to her temple. "no, levi," her voice denied what he had said, rigid body trying it's best to relax against him. "it's my reality continuing to haunt me."
