CONQUEST'S SNEAKER OF THE WEEK: Nike SB Dunk Low × Ben & Jerry's Chunky Dunky We sneakerheads and sneaker enthusiasts love collaborations, especially when it's as fun as a @nike & @benandjerrys' collab.... With that said, we also HATE these collaborations for one SOLE reason (see what I did there?), they are often EXTREMELY LIMITED aka HARD TO GET.... And very few sneakers fit that profile more frustratingly than THE NIKE SB DUNK LOW × BEN & JERRY'S CHUNKY DUNKY WHY I LIKE IT?: This sneaker is INCREDIBLE, and it will easily go down as one of the best releases of the year for sure. The colorway on the upper is a complete reimagination of the BEN & JERRY'S ICE CREAM CONTAINER reworked to fit the SB DUNK silhouette, right down to the font used on the NIKE branding. It also comes with extra laces to go with the thick white ones already in the shoe, as well as a multi-shade of green colored outsole. WOULD I BUY IT?: Of course I would, but the "L" in actually trying to get these feels imminent to great extent, but we'll see. THE CURE ⚗️ Afew has a collaboration on the way with Diadora on the "Highly Addictive" V7000, but they've also gone into the lab to create the remedy. The Afew x Diadora V7000 "The Cure" is made up of ingredients so rare that the they could only manufacture 50 pairs. Each is made in Italy and features a premium blend of suede and leather, as well as perforated suede on the toe box. CONQUEST'S SNEAKER OF THE WEEK: New Balance Kawhi OMN1s & 997s I've been waiting to post this for a minute now, and I figured after the best 2-way ball player in KAWHI LEONARD just made his second NBA FINALS in his illustrious career with his new @raptors team, now would be a great time to showcase his new & surprisingly dope signature sneaker with his new partnership with @newbalance.... And that is the NEW BALANCE OMN1s, including the 2-WAY PACK that featured both the OMN1S & the 997s WHY I LIKE THEM?: You gotta think that a phenom of a basketball player nicknamed "THE KLAW" playing for a team known as "THE RAPTORS" makes all the sense in the world. So it's only right that NB created a shoe that plays to his basketball mantra with an upper and "claw like" lacing system that plays to his moniker. The upper is also of the high top variety with Kawhi and New Balance branding embossed on the ankle portion near the sockliner and also on the outsole, and it also comes in at least two colorways that will be forever iconic: his black, red and white 'All Star Game' version and blue, white and gold version that will be forever associated with the game and series winning three point shot Leonard made that took them to the Eastern Conference Finals that they eventually won against the @bucks WOULD I BUY THEM?: Honestly? I might. I'd have to see how I'd look in them first (@realsethfowler did a dope "on feet" of these). CONQUEST'S SNEAKER OF THE WEEK Nike Air Fear Of God Raid Light Bone/Black Fossil May 2019 has been overloaded with quality and premium sneaker releases, to the point that It's been probably been the best month thus far for kicks enthusiasts. This release right here that came in two versions (with the first of two debuting this past April) played a large part in that, and that sneaker in question is the NIKE AIR FEAR OF GOD RAID in the Light Bone and Black Fossil colorways WHY I LIKE THEM?: This second wave of sneakers born out of the collaboration between @nike and @jerrylorenzo's @fearofgod is a beautiful cross between the original Air Fear Of God 1 and the Nike classic that inspired this shoe: The Nike Air Raid from the 90's. That inspiration is most apparent on the two velcroed straps that wrap around each other over the upper and the lacing system that comes complete with a lacelock. The Nike 'Swoosh' also adorns the upper and to complete the look, there is the thick outsole that contains the air unit and the Nike and Fear of God branding. All in all. A very dope design and great sneaker overall. WOULD I BUY IT?: I'd seriously consider it and probably pull the trigger if my finances were that expendable, and if I did get one of them, it'd be the LIGHT BONE colorway that dropped in April for the sake of greater visible details (although the Black Fossil is tight too). Either way, you can get either one on @stockx for surprisingly close to retail right now. CONQUEST'S SNEAKER OF THE WEEK: The Air Jordan I Retro High OG Travis Scott Not only is this sneaker one of the most anticipated releases of 2019, it may be easily THE HARDEST SHOE TO GET due to it's limited quality, depending on who you ask. In the last few years, @nike and @jumpman23 have built a prolific and profitable relationship and partnership with famed Grammy nominated rap artist @travisscott. That partnership has resulted in his special versions of the Air Force One, Air Jordan IV and Air Jordan XXXIII, but this release on May 11th 2019 may be his crowning acheivement, and the release in question is The Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG Travis Scott WHY I LOVE IT: This reinvention of this classic silhouette is exceptionally executed. It features a mostly dark brown, black, white and sail colorway that adorns the velcroed hidden pouch that surrounds the heel/sock liner, the exaggerated backward leather "SWOOSH" on the side of the shoe, the 3M "Cactus Jack" branding embossed on the normal "swoosh" on the medial side and the additional "Cactus Jack" / "Travis Scott" branding on the direct heels of the shoe. In short, the design is truly brilliant and true to Travis' persona WOULD I BUY IT?: Again, DUH.....Question is, will be able to get lucky on the SNKRS app aka nike.com/launch and cop for retail at $175? Especially when resell is ridiculous right now. CONQUEST'S SNEAKER OF THE WEEK: Vans × Led Zeppelin Collection Companies like VANS are essential to the sneaker game and pop culture.... Especially with collaborations such as these LED ZEPPELIN may be my favorite hard rock of all time, and their discography is almost untouchable, and speaking of their discography, their debut self titled album celebrates its 50th anniversary THIS YEAR (50 years....that's sooo crazy). To commemorate that, the band & their estate hooked up with VANS to create special versions of the SK8-HI & the ERA silhouettes in honor of a gamechanging & legendary rock album that is now a half of century old WHY I LIKE IT?: When a shoe company connects with a pop culture staple for a special collaboration, it could be incredible or incredibly cheesy, and this partnership is DEFINITELY not the latter. These shoes are beautifully executed, with designs that incorporate the trademarks of these silhouettes with the unmistakable cover art and symbolism associated with the famed 1969 album. I'm always more partial to the SK8-HI, and they nailed the colorway on this one (the symbols of each LZ member embossed on the sole is a great touch), but the design of the ERA is equally impressive, and if you're a fan of either shoe, you can't go wrong either way. In addition, the entire capsule also comes with a dope long sleeve tee and trucker hat which are also on sale and both show off the "LED ZEPPELIN" cover art WOULD I BUY IT?: I love VANS.... and I absolutely love LED ZEPPELIN.... CONQUEST'S SNEAKER OF THE WEEK: The Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG Neutral Grey & Turbo Green Finally, we have two Jordan 1's that are either highly anticipated or highly slept on, depending on who you ask: The Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG Neutral Grey and Turbo Green WHY I LIKE THEM?: According to @nike: Taking inspiration from the 90s and Charlotte Hornets, the Air Jordan I Turbo Green aka “Flight Nostalgia” pays tribute to the city for hosting its first NBA All Star game. Delivering a vintage aesthetic, this Air Jordan I arrives in a suede and leather upper, with the text “SP 19 AIR JORDAN 1 HIGH OG” engraved below the swoosh.... Meanwhile, the "Neutral Grey" which arrived earier in Late January 2019 is the black, grey and orange alternate to the "Turbo Green" that boasts that similar vintage vibe WOULD I BUY THEM?
