Hi! I hope you know that Lif & Lifthrasir is so . commonly brought up amongst us Hongice fans and that readers like me are still sharing it around for others to enjoy. Thank you
Man, can you believe it’s been almost another five years since I wrote that fic? I continue to be ecstatic by how well it’s been received. Thank you for passing it along, both the fic and the news that it’s still circulating.

Recently I've been bouncing your gravity falls fic around my head like a precarious ping pong ball that may or may not end up in someone’s eye if I’m not careful, and I just wanted to know, which character is your favourite to write? Which is the easiest and/or hardest to write? Do you have a favourite dynamic? How do make the characters stay, well, in character? Your fic is by far the most realistic, both in terms of character and plot, it carries the spirit of the original show so well!
Honestly favorite to write MIGHT be Soos, he just has such a fun & distinctive voice. He also wins easiest to write.
But after Soos, favorite to write is Bill, which is very lucky.
Gideon and his dad are also pretty easy to write. I know people who talk like that lmao
So far I think the hardest to write has been Agent Powers—y'all will see him pretty soon—it's a challenge to keep his voice so severely serious while still being funny & making sure he has compelling dialogue.
Dipper's also hard, it's difficult to keep him Dipper-y without the Generic Everyman White Boy Narrator vibes overpowering it. Remembering what a snarker he is helps.
Favorite dynamic, Bill & Mabel, hands down. But Bill & Stan surprised me with how much I enjoy it.
idk what the formula is for staying in character, my best advice is "write things they'd say and do and don't write things they wouldn't say and do" lol. The hard part, I suppose, is figuring out what they would/wouldn't say/do? Again I dunno what to say about that, except "rewatch/reread the source material and think REALLY hard about their personalities." Don't have them do things just because you want/need them to do it in your story, keep what they're like in canon at the core of your thoughts and only have them do the thing you want/need them to do if you've come up with a situation to twist them into a place where they WOULD make that choice or you've come up with natural character growth that would lead to them to change their mind so that they do it. You can't just make them do things.

I was wondering if you or the commentariat have any recs for good meta or YouTube videos that explain or talk about the appeal of Sterek, the Teen Wolf ship? Because I was watching a video the other day called 'why did we all ship Sterek' or something to that effect, and I'm pretty sure the youtuber's conclusion was 'perversion and also homophobia' which just smells like anti bullshit to me. Anyway, I'm kind of curious now if anyone's actually written any good meta on the subject, because every couple of years I get a wild hair and read Sterek for three weeks straight and I never even watched the show.
--
I read a few fics... then I saw some of the show and I never could again.
I doubt there's a good video, but Sterek succeeded for the same reasons things like Kylux do: Early on, some people set up influential fanon that plays into tropes fans already like. A few someones write solid fic full of deadpan snarkers. The latest leather pants Draco is born and the fandom keeps going under its own steam for a while.

THINGS THAT I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW ABOUT MY FELLOW WRITERS
Tagged by @commander-krios and @tellmeallaboutit ❤️❤️❤️ Tagging: @fistfuloftarenths @dustdeepsea @thisaccountisagainstmywill
Last book I read: Hmm this is tough as I mostly just listen to podcasts nowadays. It might have been:
Lovecraft's Monsters which is an anthology of what is essentially Lovecraft Fanfiction by famous authors such as Gaiman and King.
Either that or getting like part of the way into the start of The Lies of Locke Lamora and not really vibing with it.
Greatest Literary Inspiration:
Hmmm, maybe Salvatore and Sapowski in terms of world building and action? Possibly Stephen King in terms of characterization. I'm not really good at analyzing my own writing.
Things in my current fandom I want to read but I don't want to write: I really enjoy reading Zevlor fics but I don't ever see myself being in the head space to write one.
Things in my current fandoms I want to write but I think nobody would be interested in them but me:
To be honest I thought Rugan and the Gates Crew Zhentarim were gonna be this but we've got a group of something like 10-12 fanatics now so I guess that wasn't the case! (Also we keep tricking each other into new microblorbos, looking at you @captainsigge with Edvige!)
You can recognise my writing by:
Oh no I just said I'm bad at this part. Ah I guess heavy lore research? Funny (I hope) dialogue? Complete inability to write drama and inclusion of a lot of smut.
My most controversial take (current fandom): I don't like narratives in 2nd person generally. Maybe I'm just old but I tend to associate them with the choose your own adventure books of my youth (RL Stine and that one space vampire book).
Tumblr media
Yeah that's the one. To me 1st person and 3rd person feel more like proper literature, but I hear 1st person is out of vogue with the youths (I'm old okay).
Current writing mood (10 – super motivated and churning out words like crazy, 0 – in a complete rut):
Maybe a 3-4? I've got a few ideas brewing but I'm not in the manic phrase like at the start of New Tricks. I need to let things simmer a little bit first.
Top three favourite tropes:
You know I used to be a TV Tropes addict and I cannot for the life of me remember a single one now. I do love Trope subversion in general a la Community or Rick and Morty. Setting up peoples expectations for one thing and then bam gotcha! However it can't just be random, there needs to be proper foreshadowing.
Maybe deadpan snarker, silk hiding steel and enemies to lovers?
Share a random frustration:
Ehhhhhhhhhh, is this fanfiction specific? I guess egregious anachronisms is my biggest pet peeve.

Hi! I hope that you're doing well. For the Fanfic Writer Ask Meme, would you like to answer ❤️, 🦋, 🔮, and 📚? Thank you!
Doing well, thank you!
What is your favorite line that you’ve written in a fic? This bit, from one of my earliest MFU fics--
Tumblr media
Which character is your favorite to write? Toss-up between Vincent Van Ghoul, Napoleon Solo, Doc Brown, Peter Newkirk, and the Ghost Host, for varying reasons--you've got a warlock, a secret agent, a quantum physicist, a petty thief/stage magician-turned-reluctant soldier, and a ghost who loves scaring people but is really a nice guy deep down. They all lend themselves to a variety of shenanigans that are very fun to write about--and the one thing they all have in common is the ability to be either a sharp snarker OR absolutely Extra, depending on the situation
Any advice for writers working through burnout or writer’s block? Don't fight it. Seriously, don't try to force it, because then it becomes a chore and no longer fun. Your muse will come back on it's own.
Is there a fanfic or fanfic writer you recommend? @belphegor1982, whose fics I've been following since the Hogan's Heroes fandom heyday

Fruit Emoji Ask:
🍈 Who’s your blorbo and what are some of your favorite headcanons/ideas about them that repeatedly show up in your fics? Free pass to rant about blorbo opinions.
(Blorbo: your absolute favourite character)
I've had some people say that a blorbo is the cahracter you lose braincells over; 'always have rotating in your head'; a character you hyper related to; a character you're obsessed with and so on (I got SO MANY messages SO FAST after admitting I didn't know what a blorbo was, it was so nice and also so funny XD, thank you EVERYONE who came and answered my question! And I'm including you, Janet, in this, as I got your ask alongside the messages and I thank you very much for it ^_^)
And for those definitions, I don't really have a blorbo? I've got some favorite characters whom I enjoy reading about / seeing / writing, but no characters that I am really obsessed with or lose braincells over or the like^^;;
So I'll just go with your absolute favs, as that way I actually have an answer!! ^^
Just going with fandoms as I think of them, it's hardly an exhaustive list, however XD I also am going to keep it to just 2 or 3 characters for each fandom just to try and keep things something resembling reasonable in length XD
Anderson / Century 21: Phones is one without a doubt. I ADORE how calm, sweet, and gentle Phones is and how he is so happy not to be in the limelight and just how well he bounces off the far more fiery.... well, most everyone XD ------ Lady Penelope herself. She's legit in my top ten for ALL TIME favorite characters in all media so that's an easy one. The stoic is my favorite character type, and Penny is a calm, cool under fire stoic, and a badass and competent spy to boot (Also, all three of her novels were awesome, as were her comics) ------ Scott Tracy as, again, I do so love the stoic, esp a stoic who trends towards deadpan snarker / dry wit. Scott rarely gets angry, and tends to stay calm and cool even in the most fiery of situations, and I just really enjoy his character and stories that he 'stars' in... helped by the fact that he and Penny were the 'leads' of the Theydon novels and I adore those books ^^
Conan Doyle: Watson, when he's the version of the character seen in the novels. A collected but very passionate man, and quite brilliant in his own way. While I am a HUGE fan of the Granada Holmes and other Holmes shows, I hate how Watson was reduced to a bumbler or fool. outside of the novels, I'd have to say that Freeman in Sherlock and Law in the Sherlock Holmes films are my favorite examples of the character Sherlock Holmes himself, as I adore how he can go from calm and cool to the point of nearly emotionless to near manic vibrancy and activity. He tends to be super interested in things that he cares about... but giving no energy or care to things that don't interest him. I adore him in the novels, and in many of his depictions, not including many of the more recent depictions. Professor Challenger. A volcano of man. As massive in stature and personality as he is in (well earned) reputation. He was pretentious and self-righteous... but he cared deeply about people and the world and would come roaring to the defense of those in need.
Zag: Used to really like Miraculous, but honestly I have lost interest in the show and characters. Last thing I watched was the NYC special and Season 3, still have neither watched nor been interested in watching S4 or S5. I'm idly interested in watching the upcoming film. Maybe it'll be decent and interesting where the show proper is not. BUT... I do like the REST of the Zag shows a lot. They're a ton of fun and I've gone out of my way to watch them, and rewatch them fairly regularly. Can I say everyone in the Zak Storm, Ghostforce, and Power Players? ...no? ...dang it. hrm, gonna go with Cece, Calabrass and Liv. Cece is the calm, logic driven Spock to Zak's Kirk, and as mentioned above, I do so love the stoic XD Calabrass is very much NOT a stoic, but he bounces SO WELL off everyone else, and I adore how he quickly became a 'dad' to the crew, but in particular Zak. Liv is independent, spunky and very helpful/caring (to the piont that it can be a weakness at times).
Gargoyles: Brooklyn, Elisa, and Xanatos here. One of the few cases where the stoic is not my favorite, as I ended up finding Goliath rather boring ^^;; I love Brooklyn's deadpan snarker / gallows humor personality, Elisa's fiery and competent manner, and Xanatos adaptable and suaveness. I also like how well rounded they are ^_^
Transformers: Hot Rod / Rodimus is my fav here, or at least the marvel comics and g1 cartoon version of him (gallows humor and deadpan snarker with a firey and vibrant personality). I don't really like him much in IDW (but then I didn't like IDW pretty much at all) I also love Cheetor, seeing him go from a well meaning but unseasoned kid to a competent and crafty warrior by the end... ach, just love it (actually love the entire BW crew) Lots of other characters too, just trying to keep it to my top favs
i had more, but it made the post glitch out, so cutting all but this XD

For the fic asks game:
41, 44 and 99
HELP WHY DID I JUST SEE THIS NOW??
100 Fanfic Asks
41. What is the weirdest story idea you've had? GOODNESS I gotta think on this one for a hot minute. I've had lots of ideas that I know wouldn't work as stories, so I kinda just push them to the side. I guess Til UnDeath Do Us Part (the ghost AU) is the weirdest one? Parasite AU isn't that weird cos it's so close to what could happen in canon. And the idea of this really intense dream fic where Snavid dreams in alternate realities (including one where he succeeds Big Boss and is just caught up in this chaotic nightmare; which is a nightmare on both fronts. Actual hellscape scenario and the fact that it is in fact, an honest nightmare. He's dreaming) but I know where my limits are, talent wise. 44. Any writing advice you want to share?
I'm no advice giver, because I don't even use fic outlines. But one that I've tried to incorporate better is that a story feels much richer when environment is combined with it. What I mean by that is even a little can do a lot. For instance, to me, Kaz is visually impaired. So I make him react in anything in the 1984 to Foxhound period more with how he feels, how he senses things. What he's hearing. I put more emphasis on texture around him. Ocelot has a strong, keen nose-so I have smells and scents a central focus of how he observes and feels things. Venom is quieter and is more physically reactive than vocally so. Snavid is a bit of a deadpan snarker with hidden geek tendencies. Think about how your current character is personality wise, and try to write their reactions, dialogue etc accordingly. With fanfic, they're not blank slates, so the more you think you can work with their established personalities, the better you might find your fic is. When your writing characters, you keep in mind that every person has a slightly different way of seeing and viewing things. This affects their reactions, how they perceive the world around them. What they might say and do. A little in these cases can do a lot. Don't be afraid of outsider POV either. Make an OC if you want. Have another character react to your characters. I find that it can offer a lot of fun perspective in a fic that way. 99. was being a writer a dream of yours when you were little? or did it spring up when your older? or is it just a hobby?
I think I wrote my first story on construction paper when I was 11. I have always enjoyed making up stories but I never considered writer as a career. It is to me, a fun hobby. I also did poorly in most creative writing classes.
Thanks for sending in!

Hello, this is @auradon-bore-a-don, sorry this is late but you are on my OC Creator Bingo Card!
1. What's your favorite thing about writing for your OCs?
2. Do you have a favorite OC?
3. What tropes do your OCs fit into?
4. What was the hardest scene to write for your OCs?
5. Which OC is the easiest to write for?
Hi! It's completely fine. We've all got things that push back some of the fun fandom stuff. Plus, there are so many OCs and creators to get to know.
I like exploring different worlds and ideas. And since Julie, Alyssa, and even Violet (my main HP OC, who I've barely started writing) have pieces of me in them, I like to explore different parts of myself or handle something that may have happened to me in a different way.
Probably Julie, but Alyssa is a close second.
My Cobra Kai OCs are the Main Characters/Protagonists in their fics, or at least share that role with Jimmy. Tropes that apply to Julie: love interest, tagalong kid, little sister heroine, teen mom, shrinking violet, annoying younger sibling/bratty half-pint (to Johnny and the Cobras, but I try to tone it down), precocious crush, and little miss badass. Tropes that apply to Alyssa: bratty teenage daughter (only some of the time), little miss snarker, middle child syndrome (played with), troubled child, and stoic woobie. Although, YMMV on whether the reader can see the characters as I do.
Honestly, some of the hardest things to write for my OCs are the tragic events in their lives. Sure, I haven't written some of them yet, but I know it will be difficult. Also, trying to write my first ever sex scene for Julie is proving to be fun but difficult.
Um, that might be Jenny. Jenny technically exists as a named and never seen character mentioned once on Cobra Kai. She is Jimmy's wife, but I basically created her character in Never Knew. She is a supportive wife and mom who isn't afraid to speak her mind. She is more mom than stepmom to Alyssa. Also, the sweet fluffy and romantic moments with Jimmy just write themselves. Also, Julie can be easy to write for when the prompt or story is filled with fluff.

For the writing ask, 8, 28, & 38 please! :) Hope ur having a great day <33
Hey, Devin here!
8. If you had to write an entire story without either action or dialogue, which would you choose and how would it go?
Oh my gosh, what a delightful question! Let's see...
I think it really depends on what characters I'm using and the scenario that I'm using them in! You see, I can write paragraphs upon paragraphs of scenery, building up to the characters interacting, and I can focus on their actions regarding each other. For me, when characterizing characters, it's not just the dialogue that is a part of them, but also their actions.
Do they twirl their hair when they're bored? Play with the uneven edges of old tables? Tap their feet against the legs of their chair?
On the other hand, I absolutely adore dialogue. With the right identifiers, pauses, and context given through words alone, you can convey what a character is doing, feeling, and how they are effecting their environment, others, and even themselves.
I don't know, you can take these elements by themselves and depending on your execution, can come up with extremely good pieces of fiction if need be.
Of course, if you say entire story... do you mean novel length or one-shot, drabble fic style? For my purposes, I can write a fic that is solely based on the descriptions of characters' actions for maybe... 1-2k words. Perhaps? As for dialogue heavy stuff, since we're focusing mostly on dialogue, maybe a little less or more than 1k.
I don't know, I think it would be an interesting challenge hehehe.
28. Who is the most delightful character you’ve ever written? Why?
Don't ask me this question! Hehehe!
Let's see....
In the past, it definitely would have been AE-3803 and U-2001 from Cells at Work, Veneziano (North Italy) from Hetalia, and Alastor from Hazbin Hotel.
As of recent memory, that honor belongs to Hacker from Akudama Drive, Tim Wright from Marble Hornets, and Jade Leech from Twisted Wonderland!
(I know, I'm cheating, but bear with me).
Let's break it down!
AE-3803:
She's so cute! Oh my gosh, she's wonderful, resilient, and she is a great foil to U-1146! I went into so many analysis posts between her and U-1146 on my main blog (especially back in 2020-2021) when I was writing my magnum opus of the time, the Abnormalities!verse. I won't get into too many spoilers, but my gosh, I took so many of the characteristics that are canon to her, and then I made her go through it. (What is it, you may ask? Well, I put her through the ringer and she is traumatized). She is delightful in the way that you know at the end of the day, you know she'll get back on her feet no matter how bruised and aching she may be. She'll rise above her traumas and look her tormentors in the eye with both compassion and understanding. But through it all, she will harden her resolve, her weak cell structure turning to steel. She is my baby and she has gone through so much! ;; That isn't to say she isn't wonderful in canon. She is. She serves as one of the more lighthearted aspects of the series and she is a wonderful companion to have when time gets tough, especially in the later chapters.
U-2001:
He's an old man! There's next to nothing about him in canon, but I always headcanon him to be such an old man who loves watching from the sidelines! He doesn't say much, but when he does, you can guarantee that he will be a deadpan snarker and will surprise you with either the world's greatest advice or the dirtiest joke imaginable and you will have to deal with that reality because no one will ever believe you. He is the blorbo that no one else wanted and I adopted way back in 2018. For the real ones who followed from my main blog and used to be bombarded by CAW (mah booiiiii!!!!)
Veneziano:
He's an old man with tons of issues buried underneath a concerningly fractured and thin veneer of clumsiness and ineptitude! I won't say more, but my gosh, I made an entire anthology series for him on ffnet and I participated in a week long event based on prompts which you can view on my main tumblr and on my ao3. Long story short, he is someone who you know has layers upon layers of trauma and personality underneath, but the thing you'll notice upon meeting him is that his smile is radiant, one that draws you in. It isn't until you take a step back that you realize that it's empty and quite sad.
Alastor:
He's a radio demon! It's been a while, but someone once requested to have a deaf! reader x Alastor one shot way back when... and let me tell you... The process behind that fic was something else. Just... I don't know what to say. The zaniness behind his radio personality and the evil that lurks behind his ever present smile? That stuck with me while writing him.
Hacker:
He's a maverick in a world filled with other mavericks! In my fics, I always think him more of the cycnical, younger brother archetypes. It's such a shame that Akudama Drive was short as it was, but from what little of what I've seen of Hacker, he is such a neat charaacter??? I love him so much. His snark, deadpan delivery at times, and snark was a definite bonus when viewing the anime for the first time. Furthermore, his relationship with the main character was also great? They were such an iconic sibling duo who I would die for because the feels! All of the feels! Not only that, but his character plays off the other zany and almost nonsensical rules and other players in the anime. Back when a lot of people used to request me for Akudama Drive, interactions besides x readers were in high demand and seeing some of the weirdest combinations for interactions were the highlight of my day. Seeing him play off with other character archetypes was always a joy to me because he could range from disgruntled, tsundere little brother to someone who can be gigantic thorn in someone's side because he's a little shit who knows too much.
Tim Wright:
He is a man who I can project my fears and mental issues on. That's it. Okay, I kid, but there are so many other people who can write an analysis on him and be loads better than what I can say. What I will admit, however, is that he showed me that life is possible even after years of trauma and repression. That it is worth keeping moving forward, to seek help when possible, and to face the past in order to ultimately heal. In one of my fics, I had to put myself in his shoes and when I did... I just felt simultaneously bittersweet and sad, but at the same time, determined to move forward--to be compassionate and kind.
Jade Leech:
He is the eely perfect character. Nothing else should be said. Hahahah! I'm not sure how obvious it is, but I love Octavinelle as a whole. The aesthetic, the non-human characteristics, the strange things they say or do that denotes them as merfolk and therefore other than humans... It's all there! I could have easily said the same for Azul and Floyd, but with Jade, there's also the underlying philosophy of how the sea works underneath his veneer of a gentleman. He's somewhat cold and calculative, like a scientist who doesn't have the moral or ethical wherewithal to stop experimentaing, hahah! Yet, at the same time, he isn't cruel or needlessly malicious, he's bored and just wants to have fun. He tickles my brain just right and writing his internal observations and what he takes note of is what really gets me.
Have you figured out what are my favorite aspects are when writing characters? ;D
38. What is something about your writing process YOU think is Really Weird? If you are comfortable, please share. If you’re not comfortable, what do you think cats say about us?
I... I don't have a writing process?
I know there are lots of people who say that you have to use outlines or write blurbs or jump back and forth in the timeline, but like...? I don't?
I usually just write as a train of thought and then it happens to turn into a story. Of course, there's the proofreading part, but that usually occurs after I let the fic simmer for a day or two before posting.
Also, I downloaded this extension where everything I type makes a typewriter sound.
It's awesome and it helps me focus.
And the inclusion of listening to the same song on repeat is also a great addition to the writing process.
Thanks for the questions and I hope that you have a wonderful day! :D
Feel free to ask more! :D

Alex the Space Ace: Main Blog and Side-Blogs.
Unrepentantly myself:
Main blog: Alex the Space Ace. Has a bunch of "it me" type posts. ATSA: Godless Snarker: because every day some manner of religious bullshit reminds me that being an atheist is something to be proud of. ATSA: Politics: My politics are in flux right now (drifting leftism-ward from liberal), so this side-blog will have a range of opinions. ATSA: Further Left: What it says on the tin. Should have just posted this stuff to politics. White workeness is a journey, not a destination. Me making an effort to do the background reading listen to diverse voices, but again, these reblogs could have just gone to politics. Might consolidate the three later. Alex IRL: Empty for now. I intended this to be for things I write about my life and pictures I took myself instead of reblogs. I do at least intend to post some pictures (none of myself or relatives, but relatively safe stuff like my own art projects or the sandhill crane I saw near the building where I work recently) eventually. ATSA: That Queer Shit: Because I am queer and support other queer people. ATSA: That Kinky Shit: Because I am kinky and support other kinky people. Most of my kink life is what I read and write these days, so this blog is mostly reblogs of kinky or kink-adjacent stuff I wanted to see again. ATSA: Canned Turnip: Things that made me laugh out loud at least the first time (Side-blog title from the old account's Canned Turnip Off Cockslap, which gets its title from this fic (link goes to AO3).
Arts and Crafts:
ATSA: Arts and Crafts general crafts blog. I have too many hobbies already, but I love looking at art projects, even if I never make one. ATSA: Pixel Art: in which I pretend I'll ever cross-stitch anything as complicated as what's reblogged here. ATSA: Yarn and Floss: pretty pictures of things made with yarn, embroidery thread, and occasionally string.
Fandom stuff:
ATSA: Fic Links. Because if I put these in any other fandom blog, they'll get lost in the other reblogs. ATSA: Fandom Dork, for all my past and sort-of fandoms, except for Star Trek (my first and forever fandom) and whatever my current obsessive fandom is. ATSA: Space and Sci-Fi: Space, science, and science-fiction that sometimes overlaps with the fandom and derisann stuff. ATSA: Star Trek Forever: My first and forever fandom. Like, since watching Next Gen as a kindergartener in 1989. ATSA: Star Wars: My current obsessive fandom. I've always been aware of it through cultural osmosis, and got into the prequels for a bit when they were new (they began right before I started high school and ended in my early adulthood), and I got into the Sequels a bit (mostly the fic because fuck everything that happens after Episode VII), and then in May of 2023 I got back into Star Wars in a big way. Cue watching tons of youtube videos and reading tons of meta and fanfic and, oh yeah, the canon and legends material. I'm working on an AU of an AU fic-verse that is kind of all over the place and is spawning multiple timelines, but if someone, somewhere, read any of it and left a comment, I might cry from joy that I'm not just typing into the void. ATSA: Star Wars: Daydream 'Verse: A side-blog I made for the above AU of an AU fic-verse. ATSA: Reaction Gifs: Reaction gifs, gifs from movies and TV, and recently screencaps from movies and TV, because obviously I already have too many side-blogs. I started the original gifblogforsim before it was common for social media sites to make reaction gifs available, and it was bad "netiquette" to hotlink from someone else's space.
Writing:
ATSA: Writing: posts about writing, writing tips, writing encouragement, the occasional infographic, and probably some prompts if I forgot on the day it was queued that the plot bunny pet shop was also a thing. ATSA: Plot Bunny Pet Shop: Story ideas that I like. I will likely not get around to writing any of them myself (I'm struggling enough to post coherent pieces of my current immersive daydream), and I hope that someone else will--and ideally tag me so I can read it. ATSA: Quotes: Because I have so many of them in my likes and they deserved their own space. ATSA: Book Love: Because books are my first love (you'll see a lot of my old account side-blogs like derisann and booksaremyfirstlove
Other:
ATSA: Music and Video, because most of the time when I'm browsing Tumblr I'm already listening to a podcast or half-watching YouTube videos on the other screen. I'll get back to these, no really. ATSA: Health and Fitness: Exactly what it says on the tin. Also a lot of mental health and disability stuff. ATSA: Food and Drink: Recipes. I reblog simple ones that look tasty and don't have ingredients that are too expensive. Now that I have a kitchen again (as of July 2024; for a year and a half before that I lived in a crackerbox of a studio with just a microwave, a toaster, and an electric kettle), I might actually try to make some of these. ATSA: Read Later: Stuff I intend to read, but not right now. Kind of like the thousand or so dead tree books sitting in stacked crates or the thousand or so ebooks on my external hard drive. I've read many, but the rest of the stack is aspirational. ATSA: Reference: Exactly what it says on the tin. Should probably have combined with ATSA: Useful. ATSA: Reverse Hope Chest: Called such because the original version was as I was leaving my ex and looking for my own place. Not affiliated with PIAT, but I did ask Noah Lugeons when I saw him at FREEFLO 2023, and he said to ask their social media guy, and their social media guy said it was okay, so it's okay.
I've been on my own (though occasionally with roommates) since 2014, but I'm always on the lookout for neurodiverse-friendly cleaning and organizing tips and other general adulting-in-the-home type stuff.
