I already ranted about this to my bestie and I'm still not satisfied so here we go.
Why. The fuck. Are Indian weddings. Turning soulless?!??!?
No, cause recently I saw a wedding which was of 2 days and the main marriage was of just 30 mins.
WTF???
It's a marriage!?!?! A new stage of life!! The bride and groom are going to start a new journey! Why are they so boring and fast?? Like, we're are the mantras and kathas?? Where are the poojas and dance??
I take great pride in my culture and wedding process. There are so many stages, the mangal snanam, harthi, gauri pooja, ganesh pooja, kanyadanam and so many!! How are these ending in just 2-3 days??
You are ready to spend lakhs on the dresses and jewelleries but won't even keep it on for 3-4 hours??? Why?? Flaunt your wedding man!
And. The guests. I mean, come on!! I get it ppl are here for food, but at least bless them! Tell them to live happily! Bless them with 100s and 1000s of children! Tell them to stand by eachother! You can't just throw akshinthalu and just leave! Your blessings matter!!
And the most basic thing.
THE BRIDE AND GROOM ARE NOT BLUSHING!!
Come one yaar!! It's your marriage! You are sharing you life with someone you don't know!! It should be scary and exiting! You sisters and brothers are supposed to tease you! You should be exited to meet each other! Infact, you guys should meet eachother in secret one night before the wedding! Why are you not behaving like bride and grooms and just sitting there???
I mean. I get it. The huge reasone is their family. Most of the time they may be against the marriage and not happy, but that's my point!! Marriages nowadays are pain to someone. Either the child is not happy or the parents! Why can't you be happy with whatever the marriage is!! Let it be a love marriage or an arranged one, the point is, you child will be married just once wholeheartedly! Enjoy the fucking day yaar!
God, I'm so done.

Ugadi 2025: Celebrating Renewal, Prosperity, and New Beginnings
Tumblr media
Ugadi, derived from the Sanskrit words "Yuga" (age) and "Adi" (beginning), symbolizes the start of a new era. Celebrated with great enthusiasm in the southern states of India, including Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Karnataka, Ugadi marks the first day of the Hindu lunisolar calendar. The festival falls on April 2, 2025, ushering in new beginnings, aspirations, and positivity.
Significance of Ugadi
Ugadi is not just a festival; it is a celebration of life, renewal, and prosperity. It is believed that Lord Brahma, the creator of the universe, began his creation on this day. Thus, Ugadi signifies a cosmic renewal where people discard negativity and embrace positivity. The festival also marks the onset of spring, symbolizing growth and vitality.
Rituals and Traditions
Preparation and CleaningHomes are thoroughly cleaned to welcome the New Year with purity and positivity. People decorate entrances with vibrant rangolis and fresh mango leaves, symbolizing prosperity.
Abhyanga Snanam (Sacred Bath)Devotees take a ritualistic bath early in the morning, often with turmeric and neem-infused water, to cleanse the body and mind.
Panchanga ShravanamAfter the sacred bath, families gather to listen to the "Panchanga" (Hindu almanac), which forecasts the year's events, including astrological predictions and auspicious dates.
Ugadi PachadiThe highlight of the day is the preparation of Ugadi Pachadi, a unique dish comprising six ingredients: neem flowers, jaggery, green chili, tamarind, salt, and raw mango. Each ingredient represents different emotions, symbolizing the bittersweet experiences of life.
Special PujaDevotees perform special pujas, offering prayers to deities for blessings, prosperity, and happiness in the New Year. Temples witness grand celebrations, with devotees seeking divine guidance.
Ugadi Pachadi and Its Symbolism
Ugadi Pachadi is more than a festive dish; it is a representation of life itself:
Neem flowers signify bitterness and challenges.
Jaggery denotes sweetness and happiness.
Green chili symbolizes anger and spice.
Tamarind represents sourness and struggles.
Salt signifies the essential yet neutral aspects of life.
Raw mango embodies surprises and new beginnings.
This blend of flavors serves as a reminder to embrace all facets of life with gratitude and grace.
Regional Variations
While Ugadi is celebrated in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Karnataka, it has its equivalents in other regions:
Gudi Padwa in Maharashtra
Navreh in Kashmir
Cheti Chand among Sindhis
Each variation, while distinct in customs, shares the common theme of renewal and optimism.
Ugadi and Cultural Festivities
Ugadi is not just a religious event but also a cultural extravaganza. Classical music and dance performances, poetry recitations, and literary discussions are integral to the celebrations. These events honor the region's rich heritage and bring communities together.
How to Celebrate Ugadi 2025
Plan Early: Prepare your home by cleaning and decorating it with flowers and mango leaves.
Wear Traditional Attire: Don new or traditional clothes to signify a fresh start.
Cook Festive Foods: Apart from Ugadi Pachadi, prepare festive dishes like Pulihora, Bobbatlu, and Payasam.
Perform Puja: Offer prayers to the deities for blessings. Use fresh flowers, incense, and fruits.

Conclusion
Ugadi 2025 is not just a celebration but an opportunity to start afresh, shedding the burdens of the past and stepping into a brighter future. The festival encourages introspection, gratitude, and hope, making it a meaningful beginning to the Hindu New Year.

Matrimony in Telangana: Tradition, Modernity, and Community
Tumblr media
Telangana, a state in the southern part of India, is renowned for its rich cultural heritage, which deeply influences its matrimonial customs. Marriages in Telangana are a harmonious blend of tradition and modernity, reflecting the evolving socio-cultural dynamics of the region.
Traditional Matrimonial Practices
Historically, matrimonial alliances in Telangana are arranged through community networks and family connections. These marriages are celebrated with elaborate rituals that showcase the cultural richness of the state. The matrimonial journey typically starts with 'Pelli Choopulu,' a bride-seeing ceremony where families of the prospective bride and groom meet. Astrologers play a crucial role in this process by matching horoscopes to ensure compatibility.
Some key rituals in a traditional Telangana wedding include:
Mangala Snanam: An auspicious bath taken by the bride and groom on the wedding day, symbolizing purification.
Kashi Yatra: A playful ceremony where the groom pretends to leave for Kashi to renounce worldly life, only to be persuaded to marry by the bride’s brother.
Jeelakarra Bellam: The couple places a paste of cumin seeds and jaggery on each other's heads, signifying their inseparable bond.
Saptapadi: The bride and groom take seven steps around a sacred fire, making vows of lifelong commitment.
These rituals are not just ceremonial; they represent the deeper values of unity, love, and family bonds.
Modern Influence
With the advent of technology, the matrimonial landscape in Telangana has seen significant changes. Online matrimonial portals have become a popular choice for finding life partners. These platforms offer comprehensive profiles, horoscope matching, and advanced search options, allowing individuals to find compatible partners beyond traditional geographical and community boundaries.
Modern weddings in Telangana, while incorporating new-age elements like destination weddings and contemporary decor, still retain core traditional rituals. Families continue to play an essential role, ensuring that the sanctity and cultural essence of the marriage are preserved.
Role of Community
Community and caste still hold considerable importance in Telangana matrimony. Marriages within the same community or caste are preferred, as they ensure cultural homogeneity and social acceptance. However, there is a gradual shift towards acceptance of inter-caste and inter-community marriages, reflecting the changing mindset of the younger generation.
Legal and Social Aspects
The legal framework in Telangana supports various forms of marriage, including arranged and love marriages. The Special Marriage Act allows inter-caste and inter-religious marriages, providing a legal platform for couples who choose to marry outside their traditional boundaries.
Socially, marriage in Telangana is seen as a union not just of two individuals but of two families. This communal aspect underscores the importance of familial consent and involvement in the matrimonial process.
Conclusion
Matrimony in Telangana is a unique amalgamation of tradition and modernity. While the essence of traditional customs continues to thrive, modern influences have expanded the horizons for finding life partners. The role of technology, changing social norms, and the enduring significance of family and community highlight the dynamic nature of matrimonial practices in Telangana. This blend ensures that marriages in Telangana remain a celebration of cultural heritage, love, and unity, adapting gracefully to contemporary times while preserving their rich traditional roots.

The "Mangala Snanam" ritual involves a ceremonial bath taken by the bride and groom, after which they are served a special meal known as "Pellikuthuru-Vadhu-Bhojanam." This meal consists of a variety of traditional dishes and is symbolic of the couple's new journey together.
Another unique aspect of Telugu wedding cuisine is the emphasis on serving traditional dishes like "Pulihora" (tamarind rice), "Pesarattu" (green gram dosa), "Gongura Pachadi" (sorrel leaves chutney), and "Aratikaya Vepudu" (spicy raw banana fry). These dishes showcase the authentic flavors and culinary traditions of the Telugu community.
Telugu matrimony celebrates the essence of Telugu cuisine, bringing together traditional recipes, flavors, and culinary customs that have been passed down through generations. It is a culinary extravaganza that showcases the richness and diversity of Telugu culture, leaving a lasting impression on guests and creating cherished memories of the wedding celebration.
