Plant Care

Tonight I found baby girl doing something probably no snarent ever expects to find- wearing makeup.
For her first try putting on winged eyeliner all by herself she did a pretty dang good job.
Especially considering she doesn't have eye liner or hands.
She knows she's a diva!
youtube
Bonus video of me embarrassing her:
#hognoses#hognose#snakes#pets#snake#scoria#scoria rose#it was something that came in her moss#it isn't hurting her or jabbing her in the eye#snakes have a clear scale that protects their eyes#and I removed it after the video just to be 100% sure it wasn't causing any issues#she gets annoyed when I fuss over her and the things on her face#but it's incredibly important I check her over every handling session#because I am the only one who can get her care if she does have an injury#and if something is unusual it's important to be 100% sure it really is a bit of plant matter from moss#and not some weird bug leech thing that snuck in#or a scab from an injury rubbing on something in the enclosure I didn't realize was dangerous or broke#or things I can't even predict#Caring for snakes is so much like caring for toddlers#toddlers are more dangerous though#they can bite!#hard!#Youtube

I've been doing a Perry rewatch and taking fun notes for each episode :3 it's really just fun to notice things and write down what strikes me.
I manage a greenhouse irl, and so I'm extra passionate about spotting all of the houseplants in the background of Perry's office and all around in the show. They always have the biggest fiddles and monsteras!
Anyway, I will keep doing these episode doodles! I hope y'all enjoy this!! I've truly been enjoying the tiny perry fandom that has risen up this year and I wanna contribute to the good vibes~~
#i love checking out all the plants in the background#i hc that perry must enjoy taking care of plants#and hams got one snake plant in his office that is chronically dry af#perry sneakily waters it when he visits hams office because omg the poor plant#perry mason#la's art#my art#la doodles#perryposting

my vision is [feed jerry? jerry?? i want you to fuck me, jerry. Fuck Me! me / git it] & this plant repeatedly trying to fuck seymour &/or audrey & [consider the angle that is orin is to audrey as audrey ii is to seymour] & in the end as the plant is trying to fuck / eat audrey anyways & seymour is intervening to get fucked / eaten himself unforch like here comes the real ones ending: we segue the strategic flirtation of Alright Fine Sure I'll "Feed" You into fucking the plant. femme fatale with it: trust yourselves & each other a little more & we get the dramatic Ax Raising but this time for audrey the original going to town on the stem/base or whatever & we live happily ever after (with a ;) if you want, of course, sure, perfectly pertinent enough. especially ;) if you interpret it as perhaps having to fuck another plant to death) and i grab you by the front like That's Right They Ought To Get Away With The Deaths, And More
#we could also make sure the seymour & orin homosexuality scene is even hornier than usual but it's not that important to me#whereas like say. during seeing the film for the first time i did not really think about [wow sexual] that much at any point#in a way i cared about anyways lol but to me it's like well that's for the damn plant. thinking about it re: orin eh whatever#thinking about it re: the damn plant like gimme two seconds: right yeah of course#also nodding when they show off the vine technology by snaking it up seymour's vest to caress his face like yes very impressive#lsoh#my vision. and you think like ''truly it'd be more difficult to fuck the guthrie amorphophallus titanum audrey ii design''#like nodding sagely in some ways yes. but gimme two seconds: yes can imagine managing it. things are worth a little effort#winning that it's a coinflip whether people go ''wow this design is so phallic'' Or ''wow this design is so yonic'' you go girl....#you don't even need [visuals for this plant to already be gnc] here....but it helps!#what would seymour/audrey ii be called. what is seymour/audrey i called. audrey squared or whatever in that combo. 2 audrey 2 yurious#twomour? tricky to parse but things are worth a little effort. fucking the plant better not be that niche amongst Little Shoppers. c'mon.

My snake plants are growing in an awkward way and I am not sure if there is a way to encourage them or prune them. In all the photos I see of snake plants, they grow straight and upright. Mine have these center brunches that are kinda falling over.
The back two were previously in semi hydro. I repotted one in cactus mix and noticed it grew a much stronger root system. So I decided to repot a second one too. I don't think they are falling over from root rot, just their awkward shape...?
Also, does anyone know if there is a way to propagate and keep the varigation?

Part of the Good Omens brain rot is that you're suddenly a plant parent and your plants actually survive.
I repotted my little snake plant today, alternating between gentle encouragement and threats while talking to it. I'm sure this little plant would not be alive today if it wasn't for Good Omens.
Anyone offering a gardening course "plant care with Crowley" yet? I'd sign up! 😄

i actually find it wholesome how carefully and hesitantly beginner plant parents handle their plant babies. its ok to be a little merciless with them. its ok to soak the shit out of em. its ok to wait for them to wilt before watering them. its ok to experiment with their preferred lighting and temperature needs. as long as you're keeping an eye on it and not completely neglecting it, its not going to just keel over and die suddenly because you put it a little too far away from your window. watching and noticing patterns in plant behavior is how you learn. make mistakes, plants are pretty forgiving. being too hesitant to make changes and too scared to do something wrong is gonna kill it.
it'll tell you if it needs help before it decides to just give up on life, you just need to know how to listen.

maybe im projecting but i feel like Ollie would have a FUCKING HUGE monstera plant in his house thats taking over his living room
#ollie#anytime someone asks about it hes just ''good camouflage for me :]''#in fact i feel like he would have a shit load of plants from his home continent that his mom keeps sending him#but again maybe im projecting AHA#like yeah he can forge weapons of war with his eyes closed and can maul a grown man to death but dammit that man knows his PLANTS#anyway i got a monstera over the winter bc ive wanted one for the longest time but i was sO scared of killing it#bc its higher maintenance than succulents and snake plants all that#and brother i aint got the remembrance or energy or executive function to be taknig care of high maintenance plants but luckily#my obsession has taken over and im doin pretty good keeping up with watering and i plan on getting it better soil for fertilization#it seems to be doing well and is even growing 3 new leaves AAOOOOO#one of the juvenile leaves even grew a lil hole in it and im :')#but i still gotta properly repot it and actually put poles in it to climb bc theyre kinda half ass put in there#but sPRING IS COMING i am ready#also have a monster adinsoniiiiiiihowever tf u spell it but same applies#i feel like just having 1 (or 2 kindof) that are high maintenance is goin good bc i can focus most of my energy on that like a pet PFFT#bc unfortunately i fear that if i had a shit load of high maintenance plants i would get overwhelmed and involuntarily make them all die#which SUCKS bc i want my house to be infested with so many plants sOOO BAD ugh maybe one day i wont be mentally ill lmfao 💗#ANYWAY more pon ti comin soon

im always saying this
#not the man-eating plants part tho#but it hurts to see people who think that just because something isn't a mammal that means you can treat it horribly#like how it's so common to boil crustaceans alive when it's so much more humane to kill it quickly right before cooking it#if someone boiled a cow alive they would be labeled as a sadistic monster#but since it's harder to empathize with (or maybe anthropomorphize) a crab no one cares#on the flip-side you can't treat a wild mammal like it's safer than a wild non-mammal#people will try to pet a wild fox and then be terrified of a non-venomous snake just existing nearby#same level of danger#actually the fox might be carrying any number of transmissible diseases so it could be more dangerous#anyways rant over
