I was just rewatching Smtm3 and damn looking back at Yook Jidam she really was a dime, compared to all female contestants thus far except for Toy, she's really one of the best female contestants. Too bad she never made it far and established herself. She could've been a legend in the game if someone mentored her and got signed by a bigger label. I really want to see as good female rappers on Smtm10, but judging from the auditions online I don't think we'll see one lol

??? I've never really seen it for Jidam tbh lol She's not bad but I never really felt she was particularly special as a rapper.

Jidam is still pretty young so if she wanted to have a career she likely still could. A few years ago she did shows in the US but they were very poorly organized and flying in at one show ( I think LA) she got robbed of her luggage almost but was able to get it back (luckily it was a homeless person who didn't seem to mean much harm). From what I heard it sounded like she didn't have a plan on what she was gonna perform so it was just poorly organized.

As for auditions, many of them don't actually get posted it seems. Which is why we get some big name people on some season but we never actually saw their audition online. You don't have to submit it online from what I remember. You can just put it as part of your application. I feel like the video submission is mostly just to drum up interest from fans. For example, how on smtm6, prima music group artists were the most popular submissions but then most of them didn't even get screen time and/or got eliminated early (i think Jay Moon made it furthest but still didn't get screen time which is a robbery because they definitely gave No:el screentime even though he was eliminated early). You would have thought Prima would have been focal points of the show based on the online response. Could just be cause they choked in person so even though that was the plan orignally, the editors/producers couldn't really make it happen.

On the otherhand, we never saw Young B's audition online but he was one of the focal points of the show (i suspect Hongwon is an "mnet darling" anyway so they'd have found a way to make him a focal point regardless lol. Not that his status is underserved tbh). I also don't recall seeing/hearing about Nucksal's smtm6 audition.

I think uploading the online audition to social networking sites mostly benefits smaller rappers or rappers who want to get the extra publicity for themselves pre-season. And naturally it helps smtm get pre-season exposure without mnet having to actually pay for more promo than they already have.

Anyway, I went off on a whole tangent. My bad. My actual POINT is that there might be better/different female contestants on the show! 😂😂

Well that didnt apply to Punchnello in the end but a certain someone else 😂😂 I bet Tiger is really really happy now because Wonjae is EXACTLY what he was looking for right from the beginning.

On a sidee note I wonder if Mnet also paid special attention to Wonjae since he was filmed practicing for the first round despite not being named among the wellknown rappers. Wonjae was actually the champion of a small competition called Show Me The Youth (2016) but i wonder if that amounted to anything at all, to the production staff.

I rewatched ep3 of SMTM6

With Eng sub this time so I understand the lyrics better now and HOLYSH*T that IgnitoWonjae battle. It was amazing before but now I finally get how crazy good Wonjae was. I love Ignito too. But the way Wonjae's lyrics was expressed with his emotional voice and the beat and everything, it was just so impressive... and the 2nd part was built like a complete song... it was a masterpiece.

And I'm happy to see Zico and Dean went absolutely crazy about it.

I watched a bit more after that but then i turned it off halfway because really I was so done. So done. I just couldnt register anything else anymore.

I watched that battle 3 more times. They should release something together...

the different types of judging styles from the producers is always so funny to see — like tiger jk being too scary to rap in front of, bizzy apologizing to everyone but passing no one, choiza & gaeko being super nice and laughing with everyone, dean who they kept calling cold-hearted

everyone talking shit about people participating on smtm more than once and then being so excited to see junoflo 😭😭 but real i love him

the parts when they show the good-looking contestants lmaoo they said here’s all these ugly guys but look at this pretty one 🩷🩷
