marcus  had  been  busy,  travelling  the  world;  chasing  down  leads  and  stopping  the  nastiest  people  &  putting  them  behind  bars.  it  was  finally  time  for  him  to  relax.  he  was  at  the  bar,  clad  in  a  black  leather  jacket,  jeans  &  boots.  he  approached  the  bar,  asking  for  a  beer;  his  accent  was  apparent,  he  wasn't  from  around  here.

when  he  was  sipping  his  beer,  he  noticed  @smrnffvdka  to  his  left.  he  spoke  to  her,  asking  for  recommendations  on  where  to  eat.  "  you  wouldn't  happen  to  know  where  a  good  place  to  eat  is.  i'm  laying  over  here  for  a  little  while  &  need  to  kill  some  time..  "

his  accent  was  soft  &  like  silk  on  the  ear.  a  brit  in  the  wild,  however;  he  wasn't  like  the  stereotypes  thrown  about  in  the  movies  &  television  shows.  "  besides,  if  i'm  here  for  a  while;  i  need  to  sample  the  best  &  at  least  soak  in  some  sight  seeing  whilst  i'm  here.  "

Had he been smug ? Or was it just intrigue? He had thought it was intrigue, but maybe he was wrong- with pursed lips and arms crossed, looking at her latest project with a tilted head just adding to the smug ( ? ) behavior.

And once he was called on it, his head lifted and he looked to her with dumb doe eyes as he shook his head. "No- what? No," he answered, smiling delicately towards Imogen. He was not the type to put a damper on other's artistry- he had been the victim of it, himself - but some playful banter could not hurt, could it?

"I just think I coulda done it differently," he corrected with a smirk only a tinge as smug as she made it out to be. "That's all."

"the bag is just under the cabinet there," his foot kicks out from where he stands, stretching toward the cabinet in question, "but you really don't have to do that. he may act like he's starving but he can wait until after we've eaten." 

his words accompanied by a light chuckle, attention drifting from the pan he'd been stirring on the stove before him. it was a pretty funny sight; max excitedly trotting around the kitchen trailing behind imogen as she prepares his bowl for him. especially considering the pooch had just been whimpering and whining under eric's feet like it was the end of the world mere minutes before. but it's no surprise to eric that max once again had gotten his way, for a dog he is incredibly charming. and a master of manipulation.

He thinks it mere pleasantry or a way to alleviate an ache temporarily – things nice people do... There's no way, is there? That the pain could ever subside – memories ablaze in his brain like angered embers, threatening to burn him whole.

How could he ever get over the loss? How could he ever not mourn? Killing did little to alleviate the pain, and it felt like time had made it even worse... Would it even be right not to feel pain, anymore?

That nagging voice still bothers him – you should be doing more. You have to do more. A quiet breath comes, he looks to any immediate point nearby, anything but Imogen herself.

"Do you speak from experience or just assume it's the right thing to say?"

this time when she walked in, there was a girl sat at one of the tables in the usual section that delmaroe would use to study up on the mortal ways. normally, she'd convince the girl to leave and continue with her usual lock down. but something told her to let the girl stay. that it could be a chance to get close and personal with humans, to learn more about them than she might from the pages of an old book. ❝ mind if i sit here ? ❞ she hummed sweetly, flashing the other woman a smile as she approached.

He hadn't said much of anything but he could feel her eyes on him. They didn't leave him even as he turned away and kept his emerald optics locked upon the counter in front of him. After answering her question on how his first rehab session had been, which he felt went rather horribly, he thought he'd said enough. He already was digging himself out of a pit, maybe or he was staying there, after the attack that left him out of title fight and with a few broken bones. His wrist less broken that before, at least healing well but not fast enough for his liking. “I don't feel like talking anymore.” He mumbles out, feel like he has said enough even if in reality he has barely said much of anything in the last few months. Andrei was keeping to himself, like he had been before the Olympic gold medal. Realizing things hadn’t changed, despite when he thought he redeemed his family name, hit him far harder than he realized. And maybe in the end that was for the best, people only saw him still as one thing. If that was what they wanted and believed, then why should he make them think otherwise?

"i want to get a new tattoo, but i don't know what to get," he explains, showing off his right arm with minimal tattoos. he has plenty of tattoos; his favorite being Nessie the Loch Ness Monster on his left arm, but he's always down to get more and after losing Daniel, he'd like to get something else to remember him by- Daniel was covered in tattoos and getting one in his memory is good enough for him. "what do you suggest ?? i was thinking about getting a cat doing something funny, like with skates on right next to him-" he points to his dinosaur that's skateboarding on his left arm. there's an empty space between that and the ghost; he'd like to fill it up with something small.

PERHAPS THIS STATEMENT WAS TRUE, but that didn't stop Jessie from picking Imogen up and throwing her over her shoulder like a bag of potatoes. "I don't got time for this." The redhead mutters, moving back towards her car and throwing her down into the passenger seat with a splat. "I get it," Jessie huffs, running a hand through her hair frustratedly. "You don't wanna be involved in vampire business, but that don't mean you need t'be rollin' out the car in cannibal county. It won't be the vampires that'll get your dumb ass out here." Jessie remarks, reaching forward to buckle her in. "You think you can handle the hour long car ride home or do I gotta put a leash on ya to prevent'cha from rollin' away again?"
