you and Malleus always spent a lot of time together in the castle

since most people were scared of him, even as a kid, you were one of the only ones who spent time with him

you however, people didn't mind being around you as much

but you still hung out with him most of the time, and he was grateful

though he was a little jealous when you would talk more with others

then one day, someone gave you a stuffed dragon

it was one of the first stuffed animals you've gotten and it was a dragon!

you loved it and brought it almost everywhere with you

now when you and Malleus would hang out, the dragon would be there

when you two were eating ice cream, you offered it some of yours

when you were running in the gardens together, you held the dragon above your head and pretended it was flying

when you guys had tea, it had it's own seat and cup

Malleus hated the dragon

it was taking up more of your attention

the final straw was when you brought it into a fort that the two of you have made with Lilia

it was supposed to be a fort for the two of you >:(

he went to hand something to your dragon politely and "accidentally" breathed fire at that exact moment

the dragon was turned to ash quickly and were devastated

"I'm telling Grandmother!"

Some Dragon Malleus x reader HCs under the cut when he couldn't revert back to humanoid form one time:

- He can't work in this form because he has no flexible limbs. Instead, he spends the day teaching his baby how to fly.

- His baby is still so chubby and its wings small, so it struggles to float a few inches off the ground before plopping back down.

- He gives up after an hour and invites you to go flying. Your baby doesn't have a problem nesting inside its papa's mouth, but you feel icky at the thought of getting dragon drool all over you. He fixes you on his head with magic instead.

- You fly around nearby mountains at first, but he's a mischievous sort and pushes his boundaries by taking you overseas. His guards panic upon seeing him hurtling away from Briar Valley's lands, but nobody could possibly chase him anyway so he just laughs with his deep, monstrous growl.

- You enjoy the scenery as he takes you anywhere and nowhere in particular. It's around lunchtime when he perches at an ancient ruin spacious enough to host his gigantic form.

- You and your baby munch on your packed lunch as Malleus stares at you in envy. With his size, he wouldn't be able to taste your homemade food even if you offered him a bite; he also doesn't want to act like an uncouth animal by roasting an entire boar and swallowing it whole.

- So you end up gathering a bunch of apples for him and tossing them into his mouth twenty at a time.

- It's around your baby's naptime so the three of you curl around together on the grass. Malleus wants to shower you with affection but he couldn't because of his deadly claws, so he tries his best to show his love by sniffing you repeatedly and gently nudging you with his nose.

- "Hornton, stop sniffing me. What if you accidentally inhale me and I get stuck in your nostril?!"

- He snorts and you tumble on the grass.

- You laugh and smack his nose as retaliation.

- Your baby finally awakes, so you resume your impromptu travelling around the world. It was surprisingly fun. You got to see a lot of places you've never been to before, you played with many odd animals you've never seen before, and most of all, your baby had been laughing and enjoying itself nonstop throughout the entire day.

- It's already evening but Malleus still doesn't want to go home. Instead, you light a warm fire near a calm lake and snuggled together as a family. Just a tiny family without the titles and responsibilities; just a little family enjoying a slow, peaceful life.

- You're already falling into dreamland when you feel a strong but gentle pair of arms pulling you in closer to his warmth. You smile and drift off to sleep; not a care in the world for whatever tomorrow brings.

Awww poor tall Silver! He just wants to keep his mini me safe! 💔

But I bet Lilia has the CUTEST pictures of tall Silver and smol Silver napping together! It would be like those pictures of cats where you have a big cat right next to a kitten that looks exactly like it. Like a copy and paste Silver edition 🥺

Malleus already invited smol Silver to join Diasomnia permanently but I can imagine Lilia seeing Silver with his mini me and being like “free child to steal!” and just mentally adopting smol Silver. Lilia now has two sons named Silver 😭

Also can I just say I LOVE the way you draw Lilia when he pops up in your Diasomnia shenanigan comics? He just has this fun little fanged grin as he watches the chaos that smol Silver gets into and I love it 😂

Lilia is a delightful little (elderly?) gremlin. I'm sure he'd waste no time embracing the chaos and friendship, and messing with anyone who tries to figure out which Silver he's talking about.

Malleus certainly won't argue against adopting his tiny human friend, and the tiny human's weird cat.

Why Malleus is the best character reason number 821

Overall Twisted Wonderland plays a lot with your expectations and what you think you know about the characters, but I'd say its best example of expectation vs reality is HIM

Sure, Malleus can still be a powerful guy who doesn't want to be stepped on but he's also a cinnamon roll who wants to make friends and is very grateful to have them in his life

Malleus is a slow-burn character. The main point of his character is you have to get to know him because he's the exact opposite of what everyone thinks he should be.

Physically the strongest entity in-universe: but his hobby is art

You expect him to do everything perfectly: but he never actually does anything right lol boyfailure

Literally the next king of the creatures of darkness: but he strives to be a good person

His race was slaughtered by humans long ago: but he loves humans

One of the most powerful mages in the world: but his first friend outside of his family is magicless

He's a person of high status and can just push people around: but he's courteous to everyone and tries to treat them with respect

Well-learned and intelligent: but he blames himself for his lack of knowledge instead of blaming others when things go wrong

I could go on and on but honestly he's just so interesting. It's difficult to assign him to a character archetype not because he has no personality, but because his entire point is deliberately breaking archetypes. I think that's why a lot of people find it hard to get a good grasp of his character and how he would react to certain situations, but honestly that's what makes him so compelling. He's just different.

Malleus Draconia x Encanto!Reader

You can absolutely thank @thefiasco-onyourblock for constantly posting Twisted Wonderland content enough for me to become intrigued by “Who is that hunk with Maleficent’s horns?”.

While it is absolutely valid for every Latino who watched Encanto to enjoy the happy ending of the toxic ass family actually apologizing, this set of smol headcanons is for the Latino kids who have gone no contact with their family.

I see the Twisted Wonderland Encanto realm is the same, however you aren’t necessarily a Madrigal in name, but your family is Twisted Wonderland’s variant.

Yet you are very much the Mirabel of the story, in that you are the only member of your family who has no gift of magic.

The world you live in exists in this strange realm of being knowledgeable of places like Night Raven College existing, but still largely ignorant of other magical customs and cultures.

But it works out fine for your family. Since they’re the only people of your world with a gift, they enjoy the status.

You were not given a gift, and your life has been hell for it. Abuse and neglect are familiar to you.

Anything goes wrong, often you bear the brunt of things beyond your control.

This is obvious by your reactions in Night Raven College. You will often overreact to the most minor of things, or stress to the point of doing things like pulling out your hair, picking and scratching at blemishes on your skin, or overeating/not eating enough.

Your cousins, the golden grandchildren with gifts, stole the spotlight often. Even the younger ones who showed you kindness once will inevitably be influenced to see you as a pariah for not having a gift. It hurts to see that eventually they’re the ones who actually start rumors of your jealousy when you notice the casita begin to fracture and crack.

It comes to a head one day when you’re the one blamed for trying to help your cousins see past their insecurities and find the goodness and individuality inside. Instead you’re accused of ruining the family and causing the foundations of bonds to fall apart. All this for teaching your cousins that they’re more than their gift.

Wild accusations fly through the air like daggers at your head, your grandmother accusing you of not caring for the family, of wanting to see it’s destruction.

That precise moment is when the casita begins to visibly fracture and break. You leave everything behind, taking nothing with you except the wounds left by your family’s harsh words.

Next you know, you’re being removed from a coffin and have found yourself in a place where it seems everyone has been blessed with a gift. Even this weird cat creature has power you were not aware could be bestowed.

Bitterly, when the mirror declares you empty, you realize that perhaps your cousins would have flourished here in your stead. As usual, you’re the only one without a gift at the table.

However, throughout your interactions at Night Raven, the others wonder aloud if you really do have a gift.

Your ability to bring students together, the life you’ve given to Ramshackle Dorm, it has to be a gift your friends insist.

No one is more convinced than Malleus Draconia. You’ve found a friend, and daresay a new love, in this mysterious fae mage.

For the first time you’ve found someone who recognizes you and the gift you truly are. Malleus never fails to remind you of your worth whenever the scars of your past begin to hurt afresh.

He will be the first to point out when you’ve done something amazing. It could be something as simple as learning a new dish or resolving a conflict with two students with nothing more than a plateful of arepas con queso and a listening ear.

(His favorite dish that you’ve ever made for him is bandeja paisa by the way.)

It’s actually Malleus who proposes to you, making sure to let you know that you are a blessing to have arrived in his life.

“O Child of Man, know that your family asked for a gift of a miracle, yet in their hubris were willfully blind to the truth: the gift is you. Gifts of the fae are not to be abused or taken lightly. Be not afraid, for in my arms I will nurture and assist you in finding your light once more.”

You have to cry. Never has such a kindness been spoken to you before.

Whatever promises he makes, Malleus Draconia keeps his word. He will defend you, nurture your spirit, encourage you, but he will also help you if he notices you going down a path of destructive behavior.

He is always there for you. Even when times are hard and you cannot see the light at the end of the tunnel. Malleus is a gift in of himself.

You feel very lucky to have such a gift.

Needless to say, after telling him of the things that have happened in your family, he will never let you set foot there again.

If your guilty conscience takes control, he will reluctantly allow you to see your family again, but rest assured the minute he hears any accusation against you it’s time to leave.

He admittedly is actually satisfied with how your family has seemed to fall apart without you.

For a moment your casita is alive with your visit, and it seems everyone briefly regains their power, but it’s hard to say whether or not they still blame your departure as the cause for the candle going out.

Which in a sense they’re right, but Malleus in true Dark Fairy fashion can’t help but drop the truth bomb.

“Those who should squander a gift of the fae should show no surprise when it is reclaimed.”
