Fluffy Headcanons ❤️ | Smithson Ultivich IB

Smitty is a romantic at heart. He enjoys taking you out on cute dates whether that be to the theater, dinner at a restaurant, a picnic, or a walk on the beach. He will buy you flowers on his way home from work. He will leave you a cup of coffee/tea on your nightstand before leaving in the morning. Smitty makes sure you feel loved and know his heart is with you. 

You and Smitty probably met either in school or after the War. If it was during school, then you two became best friends that eventually progressed to something more over the years. He probably confessed his love for you when he got drafted, promising to come home and give you the life you deserve. If you met after, then I can see y'all meeting at a cafe or through a mutual friend. To Smitty, it was love at first sight.

Quality time is something you both cherish. You don't have to be talking at all, simply sitting on opposite sides of the couch while Smitty reads the newspaper while you've got a novel in your hand brings you solace. Acts of service is also a big thing in your relationship. You'll help Smitty shave, he'll organize your desk. You'll pick up his dry cleaning if he gets held up at work so he doesn't get fined, he'll water your plants if you happen to forget. 

He's a cuddler and not afraid to admit it. And is open to being both the little and big spoon. What can he say? he enjoys being held.

Whatever your career is Smitty is an avid supporter. He's quite literally your cheerleader and will encourage you to pursue anything you put your mind to. Wanna go to law school? he'll help you with the application. Want to open your own business? He'll bring all his friends and family to the grand opening. 

Smitty is the type of partner who will leave you random love notes all over the house. Some of them will be inspirational quotes, but most of them will be things he loves about you and how much you make him happy. 

You guys take road trips often. Enjoying each other's company and being able to experience new places together. Depending on the amount of time you both can get off from work, you'll go to New Work, DC, Maine, Chicago, or even spend the money to head west.

A = Affection (How affectionate are they? How do they show affection?)

Let's be real....affection is Smitty's middle name. He LOVES to give and receive affection and this is usually in the form of gentle touches and small gestures. Brushing his hand along yours, making your favorite tea/coffee, washing your hair when you bathe together. He loves to kiss your cheek and forehead, he loves when you run your fingers through his hair. In the winter months when it's cold his favorite thing to do is cuddle you by the fireplace--or if you are part of the Basterds then you both will take watch together and Smitty will remain as close to you as he can. 

Yeah, Smitty is a sucker for affection. 

B = Best Friend (What would they be like as a best friend? How would the friendship start?)

Oh Smitty is the besttest friend anyone could ask for. He is quite literally what you would call ride or die. The friendship would likely start either before the War where you two lived in the same neighborhood and grew up together, or you met in service as members of the Basterds. Either way, he'd be shy in the beginning, and you'd be the one to break him from his shell by lightly teasing him or asking him questions to get him comfortable. Once he does, he is stuck to you like glue. You'll have inside jokes, stand up for each other when someone (one of the basterds) is giving you a hard time. 

With the basterds, you guys are besties with Ulmer and Hirschberg and are the group who is always causing stress to Aldo. You four cause the man a headache at least once a day with your constant yapping and practical jokes on each other. 

C = Cuddles (Do they like to cuddle? How would they cuddle?)

As established, this man loves a good cuddle. He openly enjoys being the little spoon, but he does like holding you. When it's been a bad day Smitty usually prefers to be held with his head tucked into your neck or chest, falling asleep to your fingers in his hair and gentle humming in his ear. Now when there's been a rough mission or the reality of war becomes too much, Smitty will cradle you for however long you please. Both of you basking in each other's warmth for there is no better place in the world. 

D = Domestic (Do they want to settle down? How are they at cooking and cleaning?) 

Yes 100%. Smitty wants to settle down with you and have a house that you turn into a home. He'll move across the country if that's what you want. If you animals he'll get you animals, if you want kids, he'll share that wish. 

Smitty can whip up something gourmet when the time calls for it, but he'll admit....he wishes he cooked more and will hang out in the kitchen watching you when you make dinner. But he for sure would do the cleaning and actually finds in therapeutic. Being in the Army meant everything had to be neat and tidy, so he for sure brought that into your home by making sure it was clean. 

E = Ending (if they had to break up with their partner, how would they do it?)

No. He would never break his partners heart, and honestly let's not think of having to break his heart 😭

F = Fiancé(e) (How do they feel about commitment? How quick would they want to get married?)

Marriage is definitely something Smitty wants with you, but he'll go at your pace. Now let's be real....he'd be the type who wanted to propose the minute he fell in love with you. I'd say he'd propose after you've been together a year--or within six months.

And the engagement would last four months. 

G = Gentle (How gentle are they, both physically and emotionally?)

Smitty is very gentle, both physically and emotionally. He's very in tune with his emotions and expresses them in a healthy way which is also how he knows he loves you so much because it's so easy to be vulnerable with you without being scared. And despite the shit he had to do during his time with the Basterds, Smitty is gentle with you physically and always makes sure you're comfortable before doing touching you. 

H = Hugs (do they like hugs? How often do they do it? What are their hugs like?)

Of course he likes hugs! He loves them and will use any excuse just to hug you. You're sad? hug. You're happy? hug. The Yankees won? hug. His hugs are warm and addicting where he draws you in slowly before tucking your face into his chest, nuzzling your hair and pressing kisses to your forehead. When you pull away it leaves you wanting more. 

I = I love you (how fast do they say the L-word?)

Smitty said it fast. Probably within the first three or so months of you dating. 

J = Jealousy (How jealous do they get? What do they do when they’re jealous?)

Jealousy is something Smitty hates to admit he's felt at times, not all the time just when you two go out and you get hit on by strangers. You never entertain them, always having your attention on Smitty but he can't help but get a little jealous. Usually when this happens he shuts down where you see him pouting or not talking as much as he once was. It has nothing to do with you of course, he knows it's something he has to work on and always communicates with you when it happens. Your assurance helps greatly and thankfully you are a great sport where you don't fault him
