My grandpa pride too big for me. All Ik is he better still give me my money. Cause we didn’t discuss no option or agreement where he dont. Then he wanna drive himself to dialysis like why. Maybe that drive to smithfeild got him right but shit he need to do stuff for himself sometimes. So I’m sure if he could take a 30 min drive to dialysis he can take a 15 one but point is I’m getting up getting ready in the morning & he just leaving out without me then when I’m like why do u keep getting up and leaving it’s oh I didn’t know u were up why would I not be up ur just being a dick cause u feel guilty for what u did wrong on the way here. His problem is tho he tries to make himself comfortable within the consequences of his own actions. Like when I would threaten to go home nah I wouldn’t take him to dialysis after we got into it but I never said I wasn’t gone take him or nothing like that he’s just getting up and going on his own accord. & then the twitching in my body won’t stop. & I keep having bad dreams. I wonder if my prayers are really working & where I’m really meant to be next in life & if I can get there any faster. Honestly this hurts but I hold on to the hope that one day my life won’t be so painful and I know it gets better I’m just not sure when or how. I coulda been moving back to va. Not like I want to but I coulda been making moves. I needa be able to afford my own place though if I go back. Back to the rat race. I’m in so much pain but I try to fight thru everyday like I’m not because of this new found insight I’ve gained. But the facts still remain. I don’t even know how to reach out for help or where, I’ve been dealing with everything alone for so long. I wanna try therapy but the finances & responsibilty of prioritizing it isn’t my focus rn. I’m dealing with heartache, trynna strengthen my relationship with god, trynna be a pillar of light wanting to be social and responsible & spiritually intune & thriving & healthy. I’m so hurt when my support system isn’t being supportive. I’m so hurt when I don’t live up to my own expectations. That I don’t have a mom or dad to uplift me in the ways I need in these moments or friends. I truly believe my life has emmense value tho even in the face of adversity & hardship. But I don’t wanna fight for peace anymore so to speak , I wish I didn’t have so much healing & shadow work to do & that my grandpa wasn’t sorta a bad person fr. Fuck money Ik I’m really what’s valueable in this realm. My health matters. My life matters.

Initial Area of Interest

For my Final Major Project, I want to investigate Londoners and how they build up the city that I live in. London is an extremely diverse and multi-cultural city, the capital had a population of over 8 million people, of which 44.9% were white British. In 2007 over 300 different languages were spoken in the capital and had more than 50 non indigenous communities with a population exceeding 10,000. It is also the world's most-visited city as measured by international arrivals. All my life I have been strongly attached to London, I was born in Homerton, Hackney and grew up around people from almost every different background. When going on holidays with family, by the end I always longed for London, not because it was my home but because it was where I belonged and because I felt that I understood it.

 Londoners think they are different to the rest of the world’s population but in reality are pretty much exactly the same. There are certain social rules that all must abide by if they want to avoid confrontation or at least a scowl, opinions on royal festivals are always a divided topic, if you stand on the wrong side of the escalator you’re clearly a tourist and if someone standing on the wrong side of the escalator doesn’t make you extremely angry for about five minutes then you are clearly not a Londoner. The quirks and habits of the British have often been subject to satire, but the joy of this is that we are able to laugh at ourselves, the fact that the British public voted to call a new research vessel Boaty McBoatface is proof of that.

 But more over than our ability as the British not to take anything too seriously, I am interested in London, and who and what makes up the building blocks for all that exists in the city, both for better and worse. I want to really get to grips with the identity of Londoners and present the problems that we face as well as the great things that come out of this city. There is so much history to where the city has come from and where it will go next. Some of the areas that I wish to investigate over this very in depth and broad topic are, the Industry in London; both historical and contemporary and retail and trade. London is home to hundreds of markets and shops, places like Billingsgate fish market and Smithfeilds meat market come to mind. I would like to explore what the main industries are that still exist in the capital and their history in terms of a relationship with London.

 These areas offer a lot of scope for beginning to build a story about a specific element of London, each individual element that I have drawn out has a group of people associated with it that I can research, and also have both positives and problems that I will be able to discuss. My real aim is to take a subject that people think that they know and present the side that they hadn’t thought about, or didn’t know existed. Good research will provide an alternate viewpoint to the one that my audience will be expecting or know to be true. I am also excited to explore fictional narrative concepts alongside non-fiction storytelling and see how these two opposite can work together to create an engaging and heightened story. Taking quite direct inspiration from the filmmaker Paul Kelly, in the film ‘What Did You Do Today, Mervyn Day?’, the concept of combining fiction and non-fiction can be very effective.  

 I aim to collect information about these areas through internet research, secondary sources such as books and statistics and primary research by interviewing people to understand opinions, hear stories and gain a better understand my topic. Taking photos to record moments and begin to build narrative around my chosen subject area and using moving image to further enhance my narrative concepts.
