If Mario Was.. Under Da Water

Episode starts with the gang all on a yacht veeeeeeeeery similar to the one from Seaside Stupidity. Turns out that SMG4 managed to win the gang a cruise ride and they all decided to go (after it was throughly investigated to make sure it wasn't a threat, they aren't taking any chances).

Dinner isn't going to be served for a while, so Mario decides to head back to his and Luigi's room to nap to make dinner time come faster. Lily tags along, as does Boopkins and JubJub. Lily because she wants to get a book from her room, and Boopkins wants to get some manga for him and JubJub to read. However, things don't go exactly to plan when Nessie the Lochness Monster accidentally surfaces right by the boat, making it tilt dramatically.

This also makes Lily, Mario, JubJub, and Boopkins go overboard. Luckily Boopkins uses the same magic he used in Seaside Stupidity to make it so Lily and Mario can breath, talk, and swim pretty well under the water (listen, that was sick ass magic and he deserves to use it again). Unfortunately, though, none of the crew seemed to have noticed that they went overboard, and the yacht continues on without them.

The episode is mostly the group swimming after the yacht, trying various ways to try and get the attention of the crew whilst being stalked by shadowy figure in the water. Though sometimes it hums and Lily swears that it sounds very similar to her own siren song..

Episode is resolved when Boopkins manages to contact Joe Boopkins for help, and he returns the group back to the yacht. But not before menacingly looking at the crew for letting this happen by not doing a correct headcount.

Musings for the outcome of wotfi 24

1- Mr puzzles gets obliterated from existence via Karen (who owes smg4 a favor) or some other manner (which would make me churn out a lot more content of him to cope). I don’t think he deserves to die but Puzzles certainly needs to face some steep consequences for all his actions that his obsession led him to/what happened to others in the process of chasing that obsession.

2- Mr. Puzzles finally realizes that he screwed up in regards to Meggy, while also losing the amusement park (manefesting Mario somehow destroying the engine room b/c that’s seems to be what sustains the place) and just kinda shuts down like what more can he do-somehow ends up losing a lot of abilities to render him more of less harmless.

-Secondary to the above: Mr. Puzzles loses his power by somehow turning him back into a human (pls don’t though his appeal is the tv head for me tbh).

3- Mr. Puzzles somehow ends up as the Leggy equivalent of himself and works in the meme factory as penance.

4- who’s going to use the upper floor of the smg4 castle? What’s behind the boarded door? Maybe powerless puzzles and lock him up/keep an eye on him? Like a keep your friends close, but your enemies closer kind of a deal?

5- the whole thing is Mickey and smg4 making mr puzzles hallucinate everything, when in fact it is all a movie he’s experiencing and a warning to think before acting (unlikely but amusing to think about)

6- mr. Puzzles somehow ends up having to work for Marty after everything goes down. More of a silly thing so unlikely.

Edit- 7- mr puzzles father inexplicably makes an appearance and makes things worse

would love to know about your silly headcanons for characters!! i think it's interesting to hear how people see characters and interpret them! for example, i like to think meggy would have similar little aspects to inklings, even if she's a human!!

i have probably a million other headcanons swimming around in my brain as well with things relating to specific characters and how to interpret that into their designs !!

SMG4 is so good with kids. Hes not really the best type of person to be a helpful responsible caretaker but hes 100% the goofy dad that makes kids laugh

AU where Meggy gets turned into a vampire and Mario gets turned into a werewolf

They were bit in completely separate incidents and are keeping it secret from everyone, including each other and the rest of the Crew.

Luigi's the only one who knows that Mario is a werewolf because he was there the night Mario got bit (well, nearly mauled to death is more accurate).

Meggy initially doesn't have anyone who knows about her being a vampire, at least until Whimpu happens to stumble across her while she's feeding.

Mario can shift voluntarily into either a very-big-but-seemingly-normal wolf form, himself with wolf features, or a big scary wolf-man form, but it takes him a while to properly figure out how both because he and Luigi have to figure it out with no help and because he's an idiot.

He's also got an uncontrollable fuckoff-Massive wolf form with a mind of its own that he turns into when there's a full moon.

He's got some wolf mannerisms now, obviously

While Meggy does have the classic vampire weaknesses, they're thankfully the manageable versions (so the sun does hurt her but sunscreen deals with it, mirrors and cameras only don't work if they have silver, needs to drink blood but can still eat normal food no problem (unless it as garlic obviously), etc.) since for plot reasons I need her to actually be able to keep it a secret.

She can shapeshift into a variety of animals, not just bats, and one form in particular makes all the shit she has to deal with now almost worth it: Vampire Squids are a thing that exists, which wouldn't matter for most vampires with how situational it would be (due to vampire squids specifically being deep sea squids) but in her case it means she gets to have her Swim Form again (though modified a bit since vampire squids have webbed tentacles with tooth-like spikes on the underside)

Also I know that vampire squids are actually octopi but let me have this

The vampire and werewolf that turned them are still at-large and causing trouble in the Mushroom Kingdom (including making more vampires and werewolves, many of which are less inclined than Meggy and Mario to not follow their new darker impulses), bringing all manner of monster hunters out of the woodwork to deal with the problem (some, like the Belmont Clan, are more competent and altruistic than others, like the Guards (because of course those two would want to get involved in the latest violent trend)), which is a large part of why the two of them are keeping themselves a secret

Another big part is of course the fact that Anti-Shroomy Exists

It also turns out that Bob was a big-name monster hunter a few hundred years ago, and shockingly he's easily the most competent of all the hunters in town, so the Bros, Meggy and Whimpu are understandably extremely wary of him right now

and as if the situation wasn't bad enough, Demon Peach has somehow managed to crawl her way out of the Creep Pit and is prowling the Kingdom (surprisingly stealthily for something of her size and disposition, I might add)
