It’s an open secret in fashion. Unsold inventory goes to the incinerator; excess handbags are slashed so they can’t be resold; perfectly usable products are sent to the landfill to avoid discounts and flash sales. The European Union wants to put an end to these unsustainable practices. On Monday, [December 4, 2023], it banned the destruction of unsold textiles and footwear.

“It is time to end the model of ‘take, make, dispose’ that is so harmful to our planet, our health and our economy,” MEP Alessandra Moretti said in a statement. “Banning the destruction of unsold textiles and footwear will contribute to a shift in the way fast fashion manufacturers produce their goods.”

This comes as part of a broader push to tighten sustainable fashion legislation, with new policies around ecodesign, greenwashing and textile waste phasing in over the next few years. The ban on destroying unsold goods will be among the longer lead times: large businesses have two years to comply, and SMEs have been granted up to six years. It’s not yet clear on whether the ban applies to companies headquartered in the EU, or any that operate there, as well as how this ban might impact regions outside of Europe.

For many, this is a welcome decision that indirectly tackles the controversial topics of overproduction and degrowth. Policymakers may not be directly telling brands to produce less, or placing limits on how many units they can make each year, but they are penalising those overproducing, which is a step in the right direction, says Eco-Age sustainability consultant Philippa Grogan. “This has been a dirty secret of the fashion industry for so long. The ban won’t end overproduction on its own, but hopefully it will compel brands to be better organised, more responsible and less greedy.”

Clarifications to come

There are some kinks to iron out, says Scott Lipinski, CEO of Fashion Council Germany and the European Fashion Alliance (EFA). The EFA is calling on the EU to clarify what it means by both “unsold goods” and “destruction”. Unsold goods, to the EFA, mean they are fit for consumption or sale (excluding counterfeits, samples or prototypes)...

The question of what happens to these unsold goods if they are not destroyed is yet to be answered. “Will they be shipped around the world? Will they be reused as deadstock or shredded and downcycled? Will outlet stores have an abundance of stock to sell?” asks Grogan.

Large companies will also have to disclose how many unsold consumer products they discard each year and why, a rule the EU is hoping will curb overproduction and destruction...

Could this shift supply chains?

For Dio Kurazawa, founder of sustainable fashion consultancy The Bear Scouts, this is an opportunity for brands to increase supply chain agility and wean themselves off the wholesale model so many rely on. “This is the time to get behind innovations like pre-order and on-demand manufacturing,” he says. “It’s a chance for brands to play with AI to understand the future of forecasting. Technology can help brands be more intentional with what they make, so they have less unsold goods in the first place.”

Grogan is equally optimistic about what this could mean for sustainable fashion in general. “It’s great to see that this is more ambitious than the EU’s original proposal and that it specifically calls out textiles. It demonstrates a willingness from policymakers to create a more robust system,” she says. “Banning the destruction of unsold goods might make brands rethink their production models and possibly better forecast their collections.”

One of the outstanding questions is over enforcement. Time and again, brands have used the lack of supply chain transparency in fashion as an excuse for bad behaviour. Part of the challenge with the EU’s new ban will be proving that brands are destroying unsold goods, not to mention how they’re doing it and to what extent, says Kurazawa. “Someone obviously knows what is happening and where, but will the EU?”"

A/N: So recently i got into yandere batfam x neglected reader. And i like mha x reader. Soo my fav fic of mha x reader is on quotev " Future Keeper" and my fav batfam x neglected reader is " again & again", my brain just mushed them together like.

Our reader was born and raised in japan (reincarnated from modern world) till she was 9 (instead of 5 ), childhood friends with aizawa. Her parents passed and she find out her father was was not her real father. And she is sent to Gontham to Bruce . (read the fic to get a better understanding, link on the names cuz spoiler. ) There she gets neglected and then decides to transfer to UA high ( here UA is a secrate hero school and on surface its a prestigious high school). She sends a direct letter to Nezu about her "Foresight", and asks to be transfared there. She does get in. Meets Aizawa again. Then meets tenko, adopts him. Meets kai, adopts him. Meets touya, takes him in. And finally Keigo.

But Dick shows up when reader or any adult is not home, tenko opens the door, and Dick speaks in english, Tenko calls Kai (who knows english cuz u taught him, on his request) to speak to the stranger (Dick).

Kai knows him ( due to him being extreemly interested in how you have such good etiquette and wanted to learn, you taught him but also opened up about your past, showed him pics of you "family", and warned him if they come make sure to not give them hope about the reconcile between you and them).

Kai followed you order told the other kids to stay in the room and call the adults (detective tsukachi and night eye) aswell as the reader. He makes it very clear that you are not leaving and Dick's presence is unwanted. The adults arrive before you and try to calm the tension between the two but still agreeing with what Kai said. This pisses Dick off and then tells them that they have no right to decide for you. Kai bites back saying neither does Dick have the right.

Just then reader comes busts trough the door panting and sweaty like she ran the whole way back with Aizawa close behind her, Aizawa goes to check up on the other kids while reader starts walking towards Kai but Dick though she was going towards him and opens his hands expecting a hug, but you pass him and go to Kai and hug him and check if he was injured and then tell him to join his siblings, to which he refuses, Saying you are too kind and he has to be there cuz he knows what it does to you emotionally. And kai stayed

Dick asked you to come back toe which you refused saying that you now have a new family. He tries to persuade you, but was cut off by kai saying "emotional blackmailing won't help since he was there". Then you list everything they ( the bat fam) missed. And then ask if he could tell how many awards you won, you'll give them a chance. Dick didn't know and said a random number but Kai corrected him and along with that he also flexed about how much he knows about you .

You refuse and he is kicked out. You thought it was over but it wasn't. Now you were stuck being messaged by random numbers to reconcile. which are blocked by Aizawa and Kai. Due to Aizawa being worried about you, he proposed to exchange phones since all their contacts were same. to which the reader agreed reluctently.

Now probably they got the hint and would leave you alone....... Or you thought

Three weeks later, bat boys along with Bruce and Alfread show up with all your favorite stuff ( which Dick remembers cuz Kai had spoken about it). Since it was Touya who opened the door, he didn't give them a chance and shut the door in their face saying that they'll make reader have an anxiety attack or something bad, then told them to leave. They didn't and since you were on your way back home, you unfortunately bumped into them. Again it was the sme bushit except Damian who you thought had lost his mind since he kept demanding you come back home, to them, and spoil him with more love than you spoil anyone in your so called family cuz he was your one and only real sibling.

You laughed at their faces, called them pathetic and told them your family is here and so is your home. And continued by saying if they love you even a little bit they would leave you and your real family alone.

Leaving heart broken Wayne family outside. Regreting their choices.

But they promised that they would get you back........... No matter what.

I am admittedly a little hesitant about the boycotting RIIZE part of boycotting SME as a whole. Don’t get me wrong, I understand the logic of it all and how this could give SME a nudge, but I also worry a bit about how the other members would feel seeing their numbers go down; I don’t want them to get down by the fact that people are boycotting them when they did nothing wrong. I’m not really sure what to do☹️

believe me, the members understand. wonbin actively posted that he and the other members want seunghan back just as much as we do, and they may or may not be dropping hints left and right that they believe riize is seven. i get the sentiment, but i'm strongly advocating for the boycott.

it might seem like it's just about getting justice for seunghan, which it is, but it could also have a huge impact on the entire industry in terms of normalizing dating among idols and a wake up call for delusional fans and other companies who treat idols as nothing but products to make money from.

idols are humans too, and they deserve to be protected, respected and treated as human beings that are allowed to live their lives. it would create a space for idols to make "mistakes" (i don't want to call it that because i do not see smoking and dating as mistakes, but you get the point) and not be shamed and hated for it to the point of having to leave their group or the industry entirely. in the end, they're just young people with a dream, and who are we as fans to crush them just because of something that everyone else does every single day.

by boycotting riize and sme, we have the chance to make a better future for every single idol. even if they found the decrease in followers and streams a little saddening, the end goal is getting them their friend back and making the world a better place, and that would mean much more to them than money and fame. they understand.

so far his current company is pretty much nugu who has already debuted a girl group but not boy one. with the hermit the company x is relatively new and isn't much heard of from the k-pop fans. the world aims to the western and international market, therefore the girl group is surely known in nugupromoter in one way or another. 8 of pentacles indicates that the group he can debut with isn't planned for some time but rather it's planned recently. (the king and queen of cups can be other trainees he's communicating with more often these days)

the last spread which i shared fully (from the reversed 3 of cups onwards) is scary as the situation in his current company isn't satisfying at all and i can actually see there's chance to scrap the idea of the future group jo woochan can debut under. the emperor can be the current ceo/owner of jo's company he's trainee under and it really sucks: another promising trainee might've departed recently (reversed 2 of cups) and this can be the reason why his future group might fall apart before its forming pre-debut. Feyre couldn’t look at her phone. Not without feeling nauseated.

There had been many—countless, Nesta would argue—idiotic, brainless things that Feyre had done in her life. There was the time she’d left her passport locked in a hostel safe and had driven three hours on the motorway before she’d realized. There was the time when she’d snuck one of the bottles of vodka her father used to keep stored in the freezer and decided she’d get away with it by replenishing what was consumed with water, only for their father to discover a frozen bottle the following evening. Or, worst of all, there was the summer she’d given herself bangs.

They were all inconsequential in retrospect, now knowing how each of those little mistakes panned out. But at the time, they had felt world-ending.

And maybe there was a solace to find in how trivial those moments felt in reflection. Like one day in the future, Feyre would look back on herself now and laugh softly, saying, Remember how scared I was? I thought the world was coming down around me, but it was only just a new path forging.

That was a nice idea, except this new path was not solid stone, steady underfoot. Nor was it gravel, rough and uneven, easy to slip and unforgiving beneath a fall. No, this new path was quicksand. There was no standing still; there was no scraping together her bearings. This path decided that she was moving one way or another—either sinking to the bottom, suffocating in her own indecision, or scrambling forward in an attempt to keep her head above the surface.

And maybe there wasn’t a way forward at all. Maybe there was only going down, like she was trapped in a sand dial, feeling the ground shift and fall away, every ticking second measured. It certainly felt like there was glass sealed behind her—she knew there was no going back. There was no undoing the purple eyes and velvet laugh and stupid black dress.

Would she one day laugh about this? Who was to say. She wasn’t laughing now. She was fighting the bile creeping up her throat as she sat on the cool tile of her bathroom floor, glaring at the porcelain bowl because it was better than glaring at her phone. Feyre couldn’t say for certain if it was morning sickness that had triggered her nausea or the text that had woken her up.

Feyre was running out of excuses. A stomach bug only lasts for so long. It was becoming a matter of time before someone busted down her door and demanded she go to the emergency room.

The response was immediate. I have the day off. Breakfast at 10?

Sure.

It was an effort to heft herself from the floor. It was more of an effort not to grimace when she saw her reflection in the mirror. She fixed her eyes on the faucet, on her shaking hands cupping the water, scooping it into her face, and then into her mouth to rinse out the bile.

She didn’t look that different, not really. There was no pregnancy bump yet. If anything, she’d lost weight. Nausea could do that, but so could guilt. Six weeks ago, she’d had sex with a stranger, with Rhysand, and now there was a life growing in her stomach.

Google said a baby was roughly the size of a pea at six weeks. If that was true, then the weight of keeping this secret made it the heaviest gods-damned pea in existence.

“Have you told him?” Alis said in greeting as Feyre ambled into the kitchen.

Steam curled from the mug in her hands, carrying the scent of freshly roasted coffee. Feyre resisted the urge to cover her nose.

“No,” she said, evading her roommate in a wide arc.

Alis arched a brow. “Will you tell him?”

The bitter smell was so affronting that Feyre could think of little else. A gag built in her throat, which she did a poor job of hiding by darting for the fridge. It was the empty stomach. She needed to eat something, or she was going to puke again.

Feyre settled for an apple and took a long time chewing before she turned back to Alis. She swallowed. “Eventually.”

“The longer you wait—”

“I know,” Feyre interrupted.

Of course she knew. It was all she’d been thinking about. But how? How did she look him in the eyes and say, I’m pregnant? She couldn’t even do it in the mirror—and she’d tried. There were a thousand versions of the script she was constantly writing and rewriting in her head, all those words swirling until they had become a living creature of mist and shadow. One that loomed over her shoulder at all times of the day. She’d somehow convinced herself it would only become real if she acknowledged it.

Alis said little else. She was the only one who knew, by virtue of being on the other side of the door when Feyre had taken her pregnancy test. Though, Alis wasn’t dense, and it wouldn’t have taken her long to peg the morning nausea, the aversion to certain foods. They didn’t say much about it. Not yet. Alis had only offered her unilateral support and given Feyre time and space to dissect her maelstrom of emotions.

And three days ago, when Feyre decided she was going to keep the baby, Alis had said simply, “Then you need to tell him.”

A firm, unwavering reminder she’d repeated each day since. Feyre clenched her teeth to keep from snapping. She knew that, in her own way, Alis was being kind. Time would only exacerbate the issue. But objectivity did little quell Feyre’s kindling irritation. Words bubbled behind her clenched teeth, building into a pressure that made her want to scream: no-fucking-duh.

She didn’t scream. She politely took her apple and her keys and murmured that she would be back soon. Maybe she could have shut the front door with less force, but at least now she could blame her Archeron temper on her hormones.

Feyre rapped her knuckles over the steering wheel. She was parked outside the cafe, and through the large glass pane at the front, she could spot him sitting inside. His posture seemed relaxed enough, his handsome face angled down towards his phone. A second later, hers pinged from its mount on the dashboard.

I’m here. Are you close?

She met her own eyes in the rearview mirror. Blue, like an overcast sea, their mother had always said, reasoning it was why her eldest and youngest were such forces of nature. There was a swelling storm that Feyre could never escape, because it lived inside her. And now she could feel the tide in her chest retreating from the shore, pulling further and further back, and she knew it would crash if she went inside, that it would swallow them both whole.

Be a big girl, she told herself. Go in there and tell him the truth.

She took a deep inhale. Held it, hoping it could hold back the tide, too.

Then, it was only a matter of unlocking her door. Walking the few steps towards the front entrance. Listening to the pealing bell as she pulled open the door.

“Feyre?”

Blonde hair swam into view. The greeting was so unexpected, so startling, that Feyre released the breath she’d been holding.

Then it all crashed down.

Brows pinched together. “Feyre, are you okay?”

Mor had the sense to keep her voice at a whisper. From the way she glanced over her shoulder towards the man hunched over in the booth, it was clear she had put together who Feyre was here to see.

Tears sprung into Feyre’s vision—not because she was crying, but because she couldn’t breathe. The tide was surging around her, clogging her throat, and she couldn’t breathe, she couldn’t breathe, she couldn’t—

Mor grabbed Feyre by the shoulders and pushed them out of the cafe.

The early Autumn was as indecisive as Feyre. Yesterday, she’d been sweating through her t-shirt. Today, the air stung her cheeks. Maybe the weather had seen a kindred spirit, a storm that could never quite find stillness, and decided to take pity. The cold calmed her, embraced her, reminded her where she was. Outside. With Mor. Where there was plenty of open space and fresh air. The blockage in her throat loosened. She took a gasping breath, then another.

“You’re okay,” Mor soothed.

“I’m okay,” Feryre repeated. To assure Mor or herself, she wasn’t certain.

Mor took in Feyre’s strained voice, her flushed cheeks, the nails digging into her palms and gestured towards one of the outdoor tables. “Do you want to talk about it?”

Maybe… maybe a trial run could be a good thing.

Her eyes drifted over Mor’s shoulder to where Tamlin sat waiting at a table inside. If she glanced at her phone, she probably had another text waiting from him. Growing impatient.

“He can wait,” Mor said, not unkindly.

“Yeah,” Feyre rasped. “Talking would be… nice.”

It was a little too cold for the iron chairs, which seared through Feyre’s leggings. But the cold calmed her, and she appreciated the privacy. The lack of sounds and smells.

Mor was ever-patient, waiting for Feyre to speak.

When it was clear that she wouldn’t, Mor said, “How have you been? That was some night out, huh?”

Right. That was the last time she’d seen or spoken to Mor. Feyre had been meaning to respond to her text—Heyy! Fun night? 😏

They’d both seem innocent enough and at first, Feyre hadn’t answered because she’d felt a twinge of guilt for not staying long enough to meet Mor’s cousin. Then, because Tamlin had showed up at her door with a bouquet of apologies and she hadn’t known how to explain to her friend that she’d taken him back. Nor how to explain to Tamlin that she’d had a one night stand during their breakup.

Then she’d found out she was pregnant, and she hadn’t said much of anything to anyone.

“Yeah,” Feyre said, numbness growing where her legs pressed to the chair.

“And now you’re back with Tamlin,” Mor said slowly, waiting for Feyre to fill in the gaps.

The iron latticework of the outdoor table was much more interesting.

Mor sounded disappointed as she probed, “You said it was the last time you guys were breaking up.”

Feyre mustered all the cheer she could force into her voice. “It was the last time. We’re not going to break up again.”

She’d felt much more confident about that line when she’d said it three weeks ago to a disapproving Alis. Already, Feyre could feel that creature slither over her shoulder, hissing into her ear. If she turned, its pupils would be slitted into two digital lines that begged her acknowledgment.

“Right,” Mor said. “And yet, you came into this cafe looking like you were about to burst into tears because…?”

“Because I’m pregnant,” Feyre blurted.

And there it was. That creature turned real. She felt it reach through her chest and tug. Suddenly, all of that sea water she’d swallowed a moment ago came rising to the surface, and her body regurgitated the words that had been drowning her.

“It’s not Tamlin’s. It’s… remember the guy I met at the club? The one with the purple eyes? It was supposed to be this stupid, drunken one night stand, only first names—I don’t even have his number, Mor. I have some nameless, mysterious baby daddy, and I haven’t told Tamlin because I know he’s going to be…” she blinked back the sting in her eyes. “He’s going to be so furious with me.”

Mor was gaping. Whatever she’d expected… it clearly hadn’t been that.

Waiting for her friend’s reaction felt like treading water in a deep, bottomless ocean. But at least she wasn’t drowning anymore. At least the creature had receded back into the shadows, and her breathing was shallow but still filling her lungs.

Then Mor’s eyes flickered over Feyre’s shoulder. Her expression morphed into such panic that Feyre whirled, only to be met face to face with those shocking purple eyes so wide that she could only assume he’d heard the whole damn thing.

“Feyre,” Mor croaked from behind.

But Feyre couldn’t tear her eyes away from Rhys. In the time since their one night stand, Feyre convinced herself she’d exaggerated his appearance. Three shots of tequila could make anyone beautiful. But here she was, stone-cold sober, fighting her jaw not to drop at the sight of him.

The same short black hair she tugged beneath her fingers was now slightly wind-swept, some of it falling to his face in endearing curls that she concluded were purposefully arranged. He was wearing a navy sweater with a white collared shirt beneath—infuriatingly put together, where she was still sniffing back tears, dressed in her same paint-stained clothes from yesterday.

She’d prepared scripts for him, too, though she always imagined he was someone she would take years to track down. That she’d have time to prepare what to say to him, how to move forward knowing their lives were irrevocably entwined.

“Feyre,” Mor said again after awkwardly clearing her throat. “Meet my cousin, Rhysand.”

Cousin. The one who wanted her number.

“Oh,” Feyre whispered, so many horrible details clicking into place.

Rhysand mustered enough composure to manage a strained: “It’s great to see you again, Feyre.”

Feyre dropped her head into her hands. “Oh my god.”

A chair scraped against the pavement.

Mor said, “I’ll give you two a moment alone.”

She peaked between her fingers, just enough to watch Mor retreat towards the cafe. Likely playing guard dog to ensure Tamlin didn’t stumble upon them. She heard Rhys walk around the table, his footsteps light, as if he were approaching an animal he didn’t want to startle. Then, a pair of broad hands swam into vision as he gripped the back of Mor’s deserted chair, his brown knuckles paling.

He didn’t sit. She could feel his gaze like a leaden weight, so heavy that she couldn’t gather the strength to raise her head.

“When did you find out?” He asked eventually.

Feyre searched for any accusation in his voice, but it was gentle. She lifted her head, finding that some of his shock had thawed, though his expression was unreadable.

“A week ago,” she said.

“Have you…” He rubbed a hand through his hair. “Do you know what you want to do?”

This is where she braced herself. She knew her voice was creeping towards defensive as she said levelly, “I’m keeping the baby.”

Rhysand swallowed thickly. Nodded. “Okay.”

Okay. That knocked her a bit off guard. The lack of questions, of demand for her justification. She’d been preparing for a fight with Tamlin and felt stranded in the face of such simple, ready acceptance. It had to be a trap.

“It was my decision,” Feyre said, plowing ahead. “So I don’t expect anything from you. You don’t need to be… involved. I have no delusion that we’d ever be some perfect nuclear family. If you want to just walk away, this is your chance.”

“And,” Rhysand broached with such caution that Feyre’s spine straightened, “if I want to be involved… would that be okay with you?”

“We’d need to work something out,” she said, ignoring how her voice cracked. Mor’s family came from money. She could already imagine the legal proceedings, the paperwork, the negotiations over days of the week and alternating Christmases. At least Nesta was a lawyer. “I don’t want to get the courts involved. But if it goes that direction—“

“It won’t need to,” he said. “We can play it by ear, do whatever feels right. I just… I’d like to be involved. Starting now.”

The excruciating weight of that small little pea plummeted in her chest. “Starting now?”

Rhys nodded. “If you need someone to drive you to the appointments, or if you need me to pitch in for baby supplies. I’m… I want to help.”

“I’ll think about it.”

His face fell a little.

If she shut him out completely, a lawyer was guaranteed to come knocking at her door. Feyre added, “It’d be nice to get to know you before anything else.”

“Would you like to grab a coffee together?”

“As friends,” Feyre hedged. “I know we—” An image flashed in her mind of those fingers in her mouth, between her thighs. She tried not to flush. “—you know. But I have a boyfriend now. And I’m not looking for you to be my…”

She searched for a word but found none that quite articulated what, exactly, Rhys would be to her.

Baby daddy?

“I just want us to be friends,” she clarified.

His perfect lips, which had once expertly kissed and licked and teased her, edged into a smile. “Then would you like to grab a coffee together as friends?”

“Yes.” She smiled back and found that the pea in her stomach didn’t feel quite so heavy. “Not today, though. I’m, uh… meeting my boyfriend.”

“And I’m meeting my cousin.”

“Right.” Feyre reached stiffly into her pocket, retrieving her phone. “Why don’t you give me your number, and I’ll text you?”

The iron chair practically sighed in relief as Rhysand released it from his death grip. His motions were stiff, too, she noted, as he punched in his number and handed it back to her a tad too mechanically.

Their fingers brushed as she accepted it back, and she felt for the second time that day like she couldn’t breathe. Their eyes met, held. “You say the word, Feyre darling. Any time, any place, and I’m yours.”

She thought she might have said something back or just stared dumbly at his obscenely beautiful face. She couldn’t remember, and he didn’t say anything else before he nodded his goodbye and chased after Mor.

It took Feyre a long time to find the willpower to follow after him, back into that cafe, and breathlessly apologize to Tamlin for being late. And she pretended she couldn’t feel a pair of violet eyes watching her as she sat across from Tamlin, forcing a smile.

Hong Seunghan's Future With Riize (Final Reading)

Not too far into the future, we will be coming up on a year without Seunghan. I know it's pretty frustrating for fans because it's been a while now and there is still no word about his return or his plans moving forward. So I want to do a final reading regarding Seunghan's Future as a member of Riize in hopes that I can provide you all with a bit of clarity.

What Is Hong Seunghan's Current Energy?

It appears as though he's been in a state of lack and restlessness for a while with the 9 of Swords here. This entire situation has taken a pretty big toll on his mental state and has caused him to experience extreme feelings of guilt and regret in regards to how everything played out. For him its still very fresh in his mind, and because it's resurfacing it seems like he might be having a hard time determining what is true and what isn't. Swords are your mentality. Your thinking, your knowledge. And with Seunghan being represented by the 9 of Swords, his thinking about himself and the situation is pretty skewed right now because of his own internal monologue about who he is and what he did. Now with the 4 of Swords Rx here it does seem like he is slowly but surely coming out of that rut and finding the mental strength he needs to move forward. With the Knight of Pentacles here, he is slowly but surely moving towards projects that will satisfy him financially, and he may be currently working towards something that he feels will provide him with long-term stability, like attending university or getting a full time job.

Will Hong Seunghan Be Returning To Riize?

4 of Wands Rx, 6 of Cups Rx, 5 of Pentacles

This is looking like a No to me. With the 4 of Wands Rx it's clear that Seunghan no longer sees this lifestyle as one that suits his personal needs and is able to provide him with the stability he needs. Right now it looks like he is trying to make peace with his current situation as well as the events that took place in the past so that he can move forward without that weighing heavily on his mind. For him, it seems like he believes that this dream in general was immature or childish of him to think he could accomplish and he feels like it's time for him to grow up now and move on. The 6 of Cups and 5 of Pentacles are both cards that indicate a breakup or a separation. The 5 of Pentacles indicates that at some point Seunghan may have been set to or wanted to return, but a change in circumstances occurred and it went the other way. If or when it is revealed that Seunghan is not coming back, Riize is likely going to take a pretty good hit financially.

If Seunghan is not to return, why does SME keep hinting at his return?

8 of Wands, 7 of Cups Rx, 7 of Pentacles

These 3 cards together quite literally indicate that SME's intention is to get everyone's attention and keep everyone on the edge of their seats by playing into everyone thinking that Seunghan is coming back because it's increasing their profit.

I'll explain. With the 8 of Wands here, we see some kind of movement happening behind the scenes. Some type of hasty or impulsive decision being made. The next card in the sequence dictates the cause of that decision. With the next card being the 7 of Cups Rx, it indicates a lack of options and a lack of clarity regarding the options you DO have stemming from a focus on the superficial and material aspects of the situation which in this case is Seunghan's return. So the material and monetary aspects of that situation are outweighing everything else right now. The 3rd card in the sequence indicates the intended effect or outcome of the decision. With the 3rd card being the 7 of Pentacles, SME's intention was to increase their revenue and cultivate their profits from using this situation to their advantage.

This is the only card he wanted to share. Temperance indicates that moving forward, Seunghan will be trying to find his own inner balance and calm. Right now, being content is his biggest priority, and he is working on truly finding himself so that he can properly set goals and plan for the future.

Something deep inside Virgil’s soul screamed in bewildered frustration.

Why was Dad so determined to keep them apart? Why couldn’t he see how much danger Scotty was in when Virgil had to stay behind? What if his brother fell and Virgil wasn’t there to catch him?

He knew it would happen one day. His luck would only last so long. One day he would be too slow, too small, too weak… and Scott’s hand would slip through his and Virgil knew that on that day he would plummet as well.

Gordon always joked that he and Scott were like Earth&Sky and everyone knew that when the Sky fell the Earth would burn.

But every time he defied that inevitability, every time he pushed that day away into the future was a victory. Each won precious time back from the darkness.

But Virgil was so tired.

And Dad kept pulling him back: “He’s gone, Virgil! This is just a fantasy!”

Maybe he was right? Maybe Virgil should accept it and let Scott go.

Maybe he should. But he couldn’t.

He couldn’t stand back and allow Scott to fade to grey. He deserved to be bright, shining blue like the sky he loved so much.

Dad was sorry, he kept saying so. But that didn’t change anything. Virgil needed to fix this himself. As always.

He tried to wriggle free of his father’s grip… he truly didn’t want to hurt him again…but the more he squirmed the tighter he was held. His father’s presence solidified around him like some kind of non-Newtonian fluid. He knew he could break free as he had the advantage of size - Dad’s arms were strong and he was tall but his shoulders were not as broad as they used to be. A small part of his mind puzzled over that while the rest of him braced, ready to force the issue. He took a deep breath, tensed the muscles in his chest and arms and…

He was home.

The melody that he hadn’t realised was missing swirled around him.

Scott.

Scott had him.

“Scotty?”

“Yea ‘sme… It’s me, Virg, am here.” Scott tried to get a grip of himself and make his voice sound normal, familiar, unscary…but utterly failed and croaked “Am here, ‘m right here.”

Virgil’s eyes met his and widened momentarily before the bear hug was returned with interest. For a few moments. Then Scott’s little brother began to shiver violently and suddenly melted into his arms, a deadweight clinging to him for dear life.

Scott’s knees finally gave out and they hit the floor together with a thud. He winced at the impact ricocheting through his skeleton but there were more important things to think about - Virgil’s respiratory rate was high. Too high. He was peering over Scott’s shoulder, brown eyes wide and flicking back and forth between the door and Scott’s own face, his breath coming in short squeaky gasps.

“I don… I can’t… what…?”

“Sssssh it’s ok you’re safe, I’ve got you.”

Virgil responded with a sound like an animal caught in a trap which made Scott’s every hair stand on end. The hyperventilating worsened as he tried to speak.

“Hel… help me… aaah… how… why are there… two… of… I don’t… you… aaaah… amsoscaredScott… Please don’t… please don’t leave… me.”

Scott held Virgil and rocked him and kissed his hair and did his best to soothe the panic away. His eyes burned again.

“I’m here, Vee. I’ve got you. I’m not going anywhere.”

Virgil calmed a little, then raised a hand and clumsily examined Scott’s face with it. Scott was reminded of baby Allie grabbing at his nose only this time the hand was far bigger and more desperate than curious. He felt a shaky finger trace the scar on his chin before Virgil curled into his chest again and squeezed his eyes shut. Scott continued to rock him ever so gently.

“I’m not ok.”

It came as a whisper.

“Can see two of you Scotty, clear as day.” A shiver and Scott squeezed tighter. “What is wrong with me?”

“You’ve just been poorly, it will pass.”

“Don’t like it.” More breath than words but Scott got the message.

“Me neither bro, one of me is definitely more than enough.”

Virgil snorted.

“But you’re getting better, I promise. It’s gonna be ok.”

“Love you Scotty, y’know that right?” Brown eyes stared up at him.

“Course I do. Love you too.”

Scott kissed the fluffy hair again.

“I couldn’t do it. I’m so sorry. They needed me and I… I know I promised but I couldn’t do it without you. I’m sorry.”

“You did great, I know you did.”

“Please don’t leave me.”

“I won’t.”

“Not again… I couldn’t… not again.”

“Really trying not to Virgie. I didn’t mean to scare you. I’m so sorry.”

Virgil sniffed and shook his head as if to clear it. Then shook it again and winced as if it had hurt.

“Don’t want you to be grey.”

“Grey?” Scott couldn’t hide his confusion. Virgil dissolved again and sobbed:

“Please don’t go grey.”

Scott didn’t understand the words but the pain in them was crystal clear. He was supposed to be strong and support Virgil who was so small and so broken but found himself falling apart all over again.

They clung to each other the same as they had at the edge of the roof, shaking and crying with dissipating terror and overwhelming relief and vowing never to let go of each other again.

Sally slowed her pace as she approached the not-quite-closed door of the infirmary, holding her arm out to slow Alan who skittered to a halt behind her.

All seemed quiet.

The lack of yelling was promising as it was fairly unlikely anyone had actually killed anyone and so her heart lifted a little, hoping she had been right to take her time getting down here. Perhaps Scott in his unsubtle, frankly cannonball-like way might have made things work after all.

She did feel for the lad - knowing full well that being kept away from his sick brother was nigh on torture for him, but the consultant psychiatrist had been quite specific. And Sally had passed on the advice as far as she could because this wasn’t her area of specialism and, well, she had to didn’t she? But in the end… did she have any more say over Virgil’s care than Scott did? He was his next of kin after all, not her. But he’d deferred to her as medic as they usually did, which meant she carried the weight of the prohibition even if she had deliberately made no real effort to enforce it.

Taking a deep breath she eased open the door and peered around. After an initial double take at seeing the bed empty her eyes adjusted to the semi-darkness and she spotted the huddle on the floor. Virgil was curled in Scott’s lap and the older boy had wrapped himself around him. No, not boy. Neither were children anymore but something about the position they had adopted… it instantly took her back twenty years to when the two would gravitate towards each other after lights out, teaming up against the monsters in the shadows.

Virgil seemed peaceful but Scott’s breathing was laboured in that stuttering, convulsive way that spoke of a long overdue cry only recently concluded. He glanced up at her, guilt written all over his face but very definitely not relinquishing an inch of the contact he had with his brother. Nor should he.

They were both where they needed to be.

She smiled gently to reassure him and ruffled his hair and her heart faltered as he leaned into her hand. Sally couldn’t remember the last time she had done that… had she been too taken in by his Commander & Protector act to notice how badly he needed looking after too? She’d always been so distracted by the younger boys… and of course he would never ask… Oh Scott!

She bent to kiss the top of his head and he closed his eyes as she whispered “You’re doing great honey.”

The tension in her eldest grandson’s shoulders dissipated as she gestured at her youngest and together they began to pull all the pillows and blankets from the beds.

Chapter 4 -Days of Future Chaos

Wanda's eyes shoot open, her vision blurred by the moisture clouding them. She gasps as an intense burning sensation sears through her eyes. Her hands instinctively fly to her face, pressing against her eyes as she winces, biting her lip to stifle a cry. There's a wetness on her face and hands, it's warm, thicker than water, she doesn't know what it is. Her mind races in panic. How did she get here? What’s in her eyes? Where is she? Where's Agatha? She stumbles backwards, tripping over her own feet and yelping as she falls onto a bed behind her.

Gradually, the searing pain subsides, leaving behind a phantom ache. She huffs, trying to calm her racing heart. Slowly, she removes her trembling hands from her eyes, blinking away the residual discomfort. She stares at her hands, squinting, her vision isn't quite at its best yet. There's… nothing on them. Odd. She wipes her hands on her jeans and she glances up. As her vision clears, she takes in her surroundings.

What...?

She slowly rises to her feet, her heart pounding in her chest. This can’t be real. Is this a dream? A nightmare? She looks around in shock, feeling a wave of disbelief wash over her. She’s back in Sokovia, in her childhood home, untouched by the destruction that claimed it. It looks exactly the same as when Agatha had shown her those memories all those months ago.

The dark green walls, worn and familiar, feel comforting. The low hum of static from the small TV on the table fills the room, the sound evoking a surge of nostalgia. She moves towards the small kitchen, her mouth slightly ajar, eyebrows furrowed in a mix of disbelief and distrust.

She reaches out to touch the countertops, her fingers tracing the familiar patterns in the worn wood. Everything is as it was, down to the last detail.

An idea strikes Wanda, prompting her to hastily trek to her bed. She kneels down, glancing around under the bed until she spots it: a small, red box. It's battered and worn, but still intact. She sighs in relief, reaching for it with trembling hands. As she pulls it out from under the bed, memories flood back, bringing a bittersweet smile to her face.

This box had always meant a lot to her mother. Every Monday, her mother would draw something and put it in the box, challenging Wanda and Pietro to guess what it was. (They couldn’t afford board games so her mother had to get creative.) The winner would get bragging rights for the week. It was one of Wanda's favorite traditions. She sits down on the neatly made bed, her heart pounding as she lifts the top of the box, her eyes watering.

Inside, she finds the last drawing her mother ever made. It's a simple sketch of Wanda and Pietro, smiling together. They couldn't afford a camera, so Iryna would draw her children from memory. She always said drawing your loved ones means a thousand more words, than a picture did. Wanda smiles sadly, almost hearing her mother's gentle voice repeating those words.

A watery laugh escapes her lips as she runs her hand over the drawing of Pietro. In the sketch, she and Pietro sit side by side, their faces beaming with the carefree joy of youth. Wanda fights back a sob, barely managing to hold it in with a shaky sigh. She flips the drawing over, noticing writing in Sokovian on the back.

‘Drahý Piet a prútiky. Toto je niečo, čo ti neukážem, kým nebudeš trochu starší. Chcem, aby si mal niečo, pre prípad, že by sa v živote dostal veľa, niečo, čo ti pomôže spomenúť si na lepšie časy. Čas, keď sa Piet mohol len pokúsiť pripomenúť nám, aby sme hovorili po anglicky a hovorili o behaní vonku, a Wanda neprestala hovoriť o televíznej šou, ktorú tak miluje. Tears fall onto the small paper, the yellowed parchment becoming slightly translucent. Wanda's body shakes with sobs as she clutches the precious note to her chest. Her mother’s words, filled with love and nostalgia, are almost too much to bear. Each line transports her back to those simpler times, when the biggest worry was guessing the week's drawing and enjoying their mother's stories, or Pietro catching her in tag.

“Wanda.” A voice that sounds hauntingly like hers pierces the silence, the accent thick and unmistakable.

Wanda jumps, the box slipping from her lap and hitting the floor with a thud. Her tear-filled eyes dart upwards, her breath catching in her throat. Her mouth falls open in shock, her face paling. This must be a nightmare...

It's The Scarlet Witch.

The redhead furrows her eyebrows, her head tilting slightly. The Scarlet Witch mimics the movement, standing a few feet away, her hair flowing as if caught in a magical breeze. Her eyes glow a menacing red, her hands clasped neatly in front of her. The effects of the Darkhold are evident, the corruption on her fingers already creeping up to the base of her palms.

It’s a surreal experience, watching herself from outside her body while still being in it. They are identical in appearance yet starkly different in essence. Wanda's blood runs cold as she sees a smirk spread across the Scarlet Witch's face.

Determination hardens within Wanda. She blinks away the shock, her expression setting into one of resolve. She clenches her jaw, recalling Agatha’s teachings. Magic begins to pool in her abdomen, thrashing and swirling like a living entity. She can’t decide if she should unleash it while it’s still fueling up, so she clenches her fists instead. “How am I here?” she asks sharply, trying to keep her voice steady.

The Scarlet Witch tuts, shaking her head slightly. “You really should mind your attitude. It’s unbecoming of you in this state.” Her tone is cool, carrying an undercurrent of danger.

Wanda licks her dry lips. “What state? Dreaming?”

The Scarlet Witch huffs a laugh, a dark sound that echoes in the small room. “...Weak.” She corrects, trailing her hand over the back of the couch as she slowly walks beside it. Chaos magic radiates from her fingertips, leaving a faint, ominous glow in its wake.

Wanda furrows her brows, suspicion flaring in her green eyes. She watches the couch warily, her attention flicking back to her alter ego. Distrust blazes in her gaze, her magic thrumming just beneath her skin, ready to be called upon if needed.

“And who said you were dreaming?” The Scarlet witch continues.

Wanda's throat tightens, the words catching like a lump she can’t swallow. She isn’t dreaming? But if this isn’t a dream, then what is it? Is this the Astral Plane? No… It doesn’t feel like that either. What could be so lifelike, so tangible, yet so surreal? “...W-what?”

The Scarlet Witch halts her measured pacing, fixing Wanda with a glare sharp as a blade, her eyes glinting with dark knowledge. “Consider it… Limbo,” she says, her voice laced with a chilling calm.

“A place between being awake and being asleep?” Wanda asks, her voice barely above a whisper.

“A place between your mind…” The Scarlet Witch trails off, lifting her hand with a slow, deliberate motion. Chaos magic, wild and untamed, spirals out from her fingertips, engulfing their surroundings in a bright, pulsating red. The apartment dissolves into a blur, the familiar warmth replaced by a biting cold. Wanda blinks rapidly, trying to focus, but all she can see is the intense crimson glow enveloping them.

A harsh wind suddenly whips across her back, sending a shiver down her spine. As the red haze clears, Wanda gasps, her eyes widening in disbelief. She stands on a mountain, the ruins of a small, ancient tower surrounding her. The stone is dark, weathered by time and the elements, yet there’s an undeniable sense of power here, a lingering presence that makes the air crackle with energy. It doesn’t look like a mere ruin—it looks like a throne room, a place where someone once ruled with immense power. An immense power that feels chillingly familiar.

“And mine,” the Scarlet Witch finishes, her voice echoing ominously against the stone walls. She steps forward, her eyes gleaming with satisfaction as she surveys Wanda’s shock. “Welcome to Wundagore Mountain,” she says with a smirk, the name rolling off her tongue like a prophecy fulfilled.

“I had to perform an… interesting spell to call you here. Don't mind the blood,” the Scarlet Witch says with a lazy gesture toward Wanda.

Wanda’s brows furrow, her mouth slightly ajar. “What…?” she whispers, glancing down. Her eyes widen in horror. Her hands are stained red, remnants of drying blood covering her fingers, palms, and streaked across her face. She touches her cheeks slowly, fingers trembling as they come away slick and crimson. Her heart starts to race. Whose blood is this? Is this the wetness she felt earlier? “What did you do…?” Wanda asks quietly, though she’s not entirely sure she wants to know the answer.

The Scarlet Witch shrugs nonchalantly. “What I had to do. It’s no easy feat, calling you into a conjunction of our enhanced minds. I had to… get my hands dirty, so to speak.”

Wanda shudders, the chill of realization creeping up her spine. She feels nauseous, bile rising in her throat as she processes the grotesque scene. She wipes the blood off her face with the hem of her white t-shirt, staining it a deep, accusing red.

“I summoned you here because I wanted to speak to you,” the Scarlet Witch continues, her tone laced with authority, as if she’s addressing a subject rather than an equal.

Wanda swallows hard, her mind racing to keep up with the sudden shift in reality. She took a life… because she wanted to speak to her. She's deranged. “Speak to me about… what?” she manages to ask, though her voice wavers, betraying her uncertainty.

The Scarlet Witch takes a seat on her imposing throne, the air seemingly growing colder around her. Wanda shivers, the chill seeping into her bones. She watches her alter ego with a mix of wariness and curiosity. The Scarlet Witch exudes arrogance and self-assuredness, a stark contrast to Wanda's own turbulent emotions. Wanda wonders if this is where the Scarlet Witch resides, these ancient, crumbling ruins. It speaks volumes about what she can endure, both with and without.

A question nags at Wanda's mind: are they truly separate entities, capable of their own thoughts and desires? She can't hear the Scarlet Witch’s thoughts, but she can feel her presence, a deep, invasive sensation that makes her skin crawl. It’s as if the Scarlet Witch is right behind her, a constant, unwelcome shadow. The feeling of not being alone in her own body is suffocating.

Wanda’s thoughts are abruptly interrupted by the Scarlet Witch’s low, commanding voice, making her flinch slightly. She hopes her unease wasn't noticed.

“...I want dominance.”

Wanda tilts her head, narrowing her eyes in confusion. Dominance? Over what? Her magic? “Over my magic?” she asks cautiously.

The Scarlet Witch sighs, as if speaking to her is an arduous task. “No… I want your body.” She gestures dismissively to Wanda's form. “I'm merely a thought process. A change of perspective. I can't have that.” She shakes her head, her blackened fingers trailing along the armrest of her throne. “I need a physical tether. Something only you can provide.” Her voice is cold, her eyes calculating as they bore into Wanda.

Wanda doesn’t respond immediately, the weight of the revelation settling heavily on her shoulders. She… wants her body. She wants to take over her. The very thought makes Wanda bristle with anger. She clenches her jaw, her fists tightening as she meets the Scarlet Witch's gaze with defiance. “This body wasn’t yours to begin with. This was my life before you were tapped into. I had a life before I knew any of this. Like hell I'd let you take my body.” Her voice is bitter, venomous, as she bares her teeth. Her magic flares to life in her palms, crackling with raw energy.

The Scarlet Witch remains silent for a moment, her eyes locked onto the shimmering energy in Wanda's palms with a detached, almost clinical expression. Then, a slow, bitter smirk spreads across her lips. “That’s adorable,” she says, her voice dripping with sarcasm. Wanda’s magic flickers, her confidence wavering. “But utterly foolish.”

The Scarlet Witch’s face hardens, her expression becoming serious, bordering on dangerous. “I was always there,” she continues, her tone cold and unyielding. “I saw… everything. I know all you know. But I know… more.” She shrugs slightly, then vanishes from her throne only to reappear beside Wanda. She begins to circle her like a predator sizing up its prey, her red cape flowing fluidly around her.

“You have no true reason to continue. You lost your family, you lost your lover, you lost your children. What more do you have to lose before you realize… It's fate. It's part of the package.”

Wanda’s heart clenches at the brutal truth in her words. Each loss is a fresh wound, still raw and aching. “What package…?” she asks quietly, not taking her eyes off the Scarlet Witch.

“You were forged to suffer,” the Scarlet Witch states matter-of-factly. “How do you think you reach your full potential? Your pain is what makes you strong. And the fact that you think your pain makes you weak speaks volumes about how little you know about yourself.”

Wanda’s eyes blaze with anger, chaos magic swirling around her as her irises glow a fierce red. “I've had to live with myself all my life. I think I know me,” she snaps, her voice dripping with defiance. She has borne the weight of her guilt, her memories, her stories, her agony, her grief. All of it, every single day. Just for one lonely person. It’s a burden too heavy for anyone to carry, and this bitch has the audacity to say she doesn't know herself. Wanda scoffs, her voice trembling with emotion. “I don’t want to reach my full potential unless it gets me my sons. I have no other purpose.” She swallows dryly, the words tasting bitter on her tongue. There. She said it.

She has no other purpose.

The Scarlet Witch stares at her, expressionless. Her face is a blank canvas, giving no indication of understanding or empathy. She is a mirror of Wanda, standing there with an eerie calm. Wanda clenches her jaw, frustration bubbling beneath the surface.

“I think it’s time you leave,” the Scarlet Witch says, her voice cold and detached as she clasps her hands neatly in front of her. “I can’t even look at you without seeing the most pathetic version of ourself.” Wanda bristles at the word ‘ourself,’ the shared identity making her skin crawl. “Just know… I will fight for control over our body. This won't be the last of me.” The Scarlet Witch's eyes flash red before she raises her hands and places them on Wanda's temples. Wanda feels the surge of magic, her own but twisted, darker, more ancient. It’s an unsettling sensation, feeling your own power used against you.

The world around her blurs, reality slipping away.

'Dear Piet and Wands. This is something I won't be showing you until you're a little older, I want you to have something, in case life gets to much, something to help you remeber better times. A time where all Piet could do was try and remind us to speak english and talk about running outside, and Wanda wouldn't stop talking about that tv show she loves so much.
