Jen is trying his best, okay? His best is just… never good enough. His boyfriend thinks he’s cheating, his ex-girlfriend wants him back more than anything, and they’re all terrible at laying down boundaries, so all that results in is a world of heartache and hurt for everyone. He suffers from depression and ADHD that he medicates with street drugs, which only makes everything worse, and with every step up the ladder he has to climb to get to the top, he slides back ten more rungs.

But at least once you hit rock bottom you don’t have anywhere to go but up.

So.

As I said earlier this afternoon, I caught a case of the Baldur's Gate 3 Fever and, despite being unable to play the game, I couldn't resist and start brainstorm around the appearance of my Tav. (If you have been with me for a while, you know that I can never pass the opportunity of coming up with a new OC and their fashionable wardrobe).

So, allow me to present a small wip of my newest brainchild, Aranea, my Seldarine Drow Warlock. I am still in the brainstorming phase in regards of her personality and past and general story, but for now I have decided that she is going to fall in the "fashionable sassy" category of my ocs. She is one sassy smartypant, lemme tell ya.

I already love her. 💓

Happy STS! Are any of your OCs in fandom? Do they write fanfic, create fanart, make AMVs, or do they just enjoy?

that's a great question! I never really thought of that before!

Jen loves 80s cartoons, (My Little Pony, Jem and the Holograms, Teddy Ruxpin, Rainbow Brite, etc I could go on forever). I don't know if I'd say he's in a fandom? but he loves them and will often make kandi bracelets and necklaces inspired by them or with little figures or plushies of the characters (like a yellow, orange, and white necklace with a small Funshine Bear plushie, for example). I don't know if that counts as fanart but it's his favorite kind of kandi to make. Smartypants is really into finding cool movies and he's probably written a fanfic or two, lol.

Josselin is REALLY into The Legend of Zelda franchise. He doesn't make stuff but he LOVES looking at things other people make!

other than that, I don't really think so! I have characters that really love certain things, but aren't really involved in fandom. it's just kind of like 'hey I really like this thing so I'm going to share it with my friends.'

🥰 Daddy Issues (His Boy Next Door #39) (RJ Moray) - reread; just a big fan of Jack & Channon & their ongoing story!

🥰 Common Ground (His Boy Next Door #40) (RJ Moray) - LOVE that Jack & Ewan are finding some common ground - really love that this series is showing how two people who don't particularly care for each other can work to find connection for the sake of the people they DO love

😍 ACT-verse series (ann_anotherthing) - truly outstanding series about middle-aged Steddie getting a 2nd chance romance after their first one flamed out 25 yrs earlier. Full series is 117K but it starts with A Certain Type (54K), which is a fully complete story with satisfying HEA - the rest are flashback fics or wonderfully indulgent epilogue/vignettes, full of fluffy and delicious porn. The author confesses to basically turning them into her middle-aged OCs but 1) I think her projections of their characters in middle-age with these particular life experiences seem reasonably plausible and more importantly 2) I don't fucking care because this story and these characters (main & supporting) are AMAZING.

His name is Alec Atlas Frankly-Dear, Frank and Eddie's little smartypants son! (Get it? Like... Smart Alec?? hahahah..)

When I first thought of my Welcome Home OC, I imagined her offering Frank Frankly a lifeline (The Spider's Thread) to use to climb out of the pile of puppet parts in that one artwork. Our Frank must be there, no?

The OC's name was Ada Lee Arachne! I have at least one little thumbnail sketch of my idea. I guess she'd say, "Grab a spider's string--it might just save your life!"

...And then it does?!

All of the bad stuff in Welcome Home has already happened. 😢 Ada Lee will make it all better! She's here to rescue the neighbors, and argue with Howdy Pillar.

Saw SmartyPants video about the double standards in Miraculous ladybug, and holy crap I agree with everything he said.

I will never not be angry at how they handle every character in this show. Especially Chloe, while i didnt really bothered to look into the new season, I still really like her for what she could have been, and what shes been through. The way she was written in the show is (at least imo) a big slap in the face of anyone that has dealt with abusive parents. The fact that she was replaced by Andre with Zoe like she was a dog at a shelter is honestly sick.

We KNOW for a fact, that she had the potential to be great, we saw her work to be better. But it was taken away from her and from us bc the creator has a weird ass beef with his 13 year old oc. I understand that his idea was to show that "some ppl cant change", but if that was the case then use that idea on Gabriel Agreste, you know, the abusive father and main villain of the show? The guy that had no issue with manipulating and torturing everyone around him, including his own child. Who only showed remorse (which is to me still debatable if it was genuine) when he was on his deathbed.

Miraculous is not a feminist "girl power" show. Im sorry to the miraculous fans, but its not. Feminism is about treating all genders equally, that women and men are the same. The moment you have to dumb down the guys in your show just to make the girls seem better, its aready not feminism.

Sorry for the random rant. This has been on my mind for awhile.
