Best Christmas ever! (Dwayne x Fem!Reader)
I'M BAAAAAAAACK!!
So this idea hit me when I read these prompts and I couldn't resist writing it. It seems I am a sucker for Christmas themed stories with Dwayne and Laddie lol. This is kinda in the same universe as "When you're unaware" since it mentions a brother who owns a truck
late night drives to see all the christmas lights in the neighborhood
Pairing: Dwayne x Fem!Reader
Word count: 885
Warnings: Overload of cuteness

Ko-Fi
"The Carter's still got the biggest light display back home?" Your brother asked as you walked down the boardwalk to meet up with the boys, it had only been about five months since you had met them and already you couldn't picture your life without the rowdy group.
"Oh yeah, every year Jenny is adding something new. I think now it's a competition between them and the Gonzalez family that moved in down at the old Jackson place, they go all out too"
"I remember how pissed George used to get when mom would get dad to decorate"
"Yeah times that by a hundred and you now know the first Christmas after the Gonzalez's moved in" you laughed just as you caught sight of the boys.
"Y/N!" Laddie called, running down the boardwalk to hug you.
"Hey sweetie! Having fun so far?"
"Paul took me on the rollercoaster and Dwayne got me cotton candy" he smiled up at you.
"Hopefully in that order right?" You laughed.
"Paul knows better" Dwayne nodded earning a 'Hey!' from the blonde vamp.
"So what were you two discussing?" David asked while Paul passed a blunt to your brother.
"The families that go all out for Christmas back home"
"Should have seen this one, I swear they must spend a grand a day in electric with how many lights they have" your brother told them.
"Whoa really?" Laddie asked, now invested in the conversation.
"Oh yeah, think of like every light on the boardwalk but on just one house" you laughed.
"Paired with light up animatronics of Santa, reindeer, and snowmen" your brother finished.
"That is so cool!"
"It really was" your brother nodded.
"It definitely made Christmas" you smiled
"That it did"
"I will admit, I'm gonna miss not seeing it this year...I feel like it's not Christmas time until you see the lights"
"Yeah I know what you mean, it's childhood"
"But I get to spend this Christmas with you so I'm happy!" You smiled, leaning down and grabbing Laddie in a bear hug, listening to the smallest vampire laugh, unknown of the eyes that were watching the scene unfold with a soft smile, and a plan forming in his head.
It had been a couple weeks since then, the boardwalk had decked itself out even more for the Christmas season with various lights and window displays, but that wasn't what Dwayne wanted you to see that night when he pulled up to your house. He parked his bike in the garage, Laddie jumping off the back to go get you while he grabbed the keys to your brother's truck. He had already told him his plan, so he had offered his vehicle since it would be able to fit the three of you, and because he kept it at your house instead of at the cave near the ocean air. He watched you stumble out, quite literally, due to Laddie dragging you, he may only be half vamp but he was still stronger than a human. A bag of homemade cookies in one hand and a smile on your face as you gained your balance.
"I have been retrieved" you laughed, making your way over to him.
"I also come baring goods, but please kind sir, why have I been fetched from my kitchen?"
"Because fair maiden, we are going for a drive" he smiled, holding up your brother's keys, which caused you to raise an eyebrow.
"Come on!" Laddie cheered, pulling you towards the old truck before you could say anything, you laughed as you helped him up into the cab, before getting in once he settled in the middle of the bench seat, Dwayne soon getting in and starting up the old girl. You weren't sure what he had in mind, but you knew he wouldn't do anything reckless, not only was he not that type, but he also had Laddie in the vehicle, your brother's vehicle at that. He drove for a while before you found yourself in a more populated part of town, but not as populated as the boardwalk area, more of the suburban type of place...And that's when you saw them.
Lights were strung up on just about every house, in ever color, and every shape. Some houses had full blown Christmas trees out front while others had the wire reindeers. Some had Santa on the roof while others had the classic blowmolds that looked like they had been passed down for generations.
It was Christmas.
Dwayne smiled as he watched you and Laddie stare in awe at the houses, the radio softly playing a Christmas station while he drove slowly. Laddie had already dug into your cookies as he offered them both one with a smile.
"This is so...magical" you smiled.
"This street continues on into the next town, they do this every year. I always take Laddie to see it" he explained.
"It's my favorite part of Christmas! When we heard you talking about missing the lights Dwayne wanted to show you too!" Laddie spoke around a mouthful of cookie. You tried not to tear up as you looked over at the man who held a soft smile while looking at the two of you, his two favorite people he concluded.
"Thank you, this is the best Christmas ever" you spoke softly. He simply nodded as he watched Laddie curl up against you, pointing excitedly to his favorite displays. He couldn't agree more.
'Best Christmas ever'
I'm so happy with how this came out! Short but sweet lol. I really do lean towards Dwayne and Laddie for Christmas stories 😂. I hope everyone enjoyed it!

-- okay, so i've never posted a wip before, but i've been staring at this word doc for three hours and really want to send some of it out into the world without much explanation, so have a wip wednesday without warning. from a robin buckley character study, it's some angsty stobin post-starcourt --
Later, ash and dust settled on the burnt-out shell of the mall, cover-ups plastered all over the newspapers selling slower than the ultra-fast gossip that spreads in the smallest of smalltown suburbia, and her wrist still sore from signing like, a million NDAs, somehow the worst injury she sustained, she returns to her favorite debilitating coping mechanism. She hides.
Her parents are blissfully unaware of the truth, spending the summer digging out the lawn and working on a too-late vegetable patch, picking out weedy carrots and raising them up high so she can admire them from her bedroom window, waiting until she responds with a shaky thumbs up before they chuck them into a wicker basket. She shuffles back under her sheets without showering or brushing her hair. She stays there for seven days.
Her mom drops off mugs of tea, organic chamomile and lavender, kissing her forehead, checking in. Tells her Sarah from band called. Robin won’t remember to call her back. Her parents haven’t given her time limit on the freak out, but they’re expecting it to end soon. Her mom tells her a bedtime story of some folk festival in Nebraska going alight with her dotty friend’s forgotten cigarette. The patchwork tents in flames just another funny anecdote from their previous childless nomad lives. I get it sweetie, it’s scary, mom says, fussing with her hair, dragging the longest strand down her back, clearly reminiscing to the time when Robin was uneducated on The Runaways, before she gained an affinity for cutting her hair short with her dad’s razorblades.
I’m so glad you’re okay. Take all the time you need.
And Robin nods, because she is okay, in the grand scheme of universe shattering things. Her mom hugs her, and like always, she forgets to hug back at first, the motion only kicking in after smelling the arnica medicine rubbed onto her mom’s elbows. The sensory trigger doing the trick. But arnica doesn’t scent her dreams, it’s just sickly-sweet ice cream and tepid water from the nasty mall fountain and the strawberry cleaning chemicals they used to pour down the cinema toilets and oh, Steve’s blood. The dark red drip scabbing at the edge of his mouth, the rancid iron she could smell from even three feet away.
The next day, she finally leaves the house. Takes her bike and cycles adrift through Loch Nora. Like, it has to be one of these rich bitch houses, it has to be. But she doesn’t see a Beamer, even if she did, she probably wouldn’t recognise it, and she doesn’t find a handy mailbox with orange neon light details blaring: STEVE IS HERE.
She does find Carol Perkins, popping gum as she lazily waters her family’s front lawn, the sprinklers broke with the last big power outage, and she says her mom is going to be pissed if the grass is anything less than lime green. She wouldn’t normally talk to Robin this much, but eh, privileges of being a victim of the supposed Starcourt electrical fire must win her some short-lived perks, cos when she asks which direction is it to Steve’s (cos even if they’re not friends since the dingus’s dramatic high school dethroning, Carol always knows what's up) Carol doesn’t even try to be mean, she just pushes her gum to the inside of her cheek, and says that Steve doesn’t live in this neighbourhood. His place is on Elm Street, largest house there, you can’t miss it.
She cycles faster than before, hunting down a desperate unidentifiable need. Knocks on his door as soon as she sees it, sudden dread filling her with the thought that it could be the asshole dad to open, but no, she exhales, it’s just Steve. He smiles, scratches his nose. He didn’t expect her visit, he tells her, needless information considering his current outfit, a pit-stained basketball tee, plaid pyjama pants, and a single greying sock.
We should do something.
Cool. Sure. Um. Let me get my keys.
He gets changed into jeans and a clean polo first, thankfully, but it’s only a few minutes later that they’re sitting in the Beamer with her bike stashed in the back. He asks her where she wants to go, and her brain empties of all articulate thoughts. In the quiet that follows, peppered with the tinkling of his keys as he fidgets with them in his left hand, she’s flooded with everything she’s tried so hard to not think about.
There’s blood, loads of it. The elevator floor falling beneath her feet. Vomit landing in the water of the toilet bowl. Monsters, real life monsters, squelching with human guts dragging over the mall’s star-patterned tiles. But that’s just the background noise, the slow bass line to the screaming chorus. He knows, not everything, but he knows. She looked it up in her copy of that dumb D.A.R.E. pamphlet, Ketamine can take up to fourteen days to leave the body. It can make you inexplicably happy and numb to external disturbers. It can warp your reactions. Make bad things appear good. And Steve, someone real, knows.
Slowly, so slowly she doesn’t realise it until his big man thumb is digging into her palm. And oh, look at that, they’re holding hands again.
It’s going to be okay. It’ll get easier, I freaked out so bad the first time, but like, you get used to it.
It’s not just that. She admits, but, um, thanks. Thank you.
What’s up?
You really don’t care? She waits, sees his slanted not-so dumb eyes blink as he tries to understand. About me?
Oh. Yeah. No. No. I don’t care. Like, bummed I got rejected by another pretty girl, sure, but also, well… we’re alive? Aren’t we?
He squeezes her hand, and once again, she gets it. Why all the other pretty girls used to fall for him. Fuck. If only she could be normal. But it’s enough. She looks down at her scuffed sneakers, Sharpie-ed Patti Smith lyrics on the rubber dropping into the footwell as the soles peel around her toes. She knows where they need to go.
Cool. Let’s go shopping.
Nice. He snorts like a boy. Releases her hand to turn the ignition. Fuck yeah, let’s go shopping.
Shopping for designer-clad Steve usually involves a short road trip to Muncie, so she takes a little thrill by squashing that plan, suggesting the thrift with a cheapskate smirk instead. And ah, of course naïve ex-rich boy Steve didn’t even know Hawkins had a Salvation Army, so she has to direct him as he drives. Ah, to be an oblivious member of the upper middle class, ignorant of all the grimy places she considers local landmarks.
Do your parents know? Steve asks from the driver’s seat.
They’re not talking about Russians under Starcourt. But also, they are. The ambiguity frees up a little breath caught in her throat. She's not scared to tell her parents, but she's not ready. Maybe never will be.
No way. Yours?
Nah.
He opens the store’s door for her when they get there, waving her in, like they’re on a date, which makes her laugh, which makes him grin. She can tell he’s putting it on a bit, his general snooty disdain for everything inside, comically put-upon disgust when picking up a pair of grubby cowboy boots from the shelves, which do, to be fair, smell like horseshit, but come on Steve, they’re real cowboy boots, they’re going to have stepped on some horseshit in their previous life.
Eddie Munson is in the corner of the store, picking through the jewellery display before diving headfirst into a box of cassettes. Not an uncommon sight in these parts, but she steers Steve away from that section, not yet sure if she can trust him yet to resist acting cold around the super-senior freak, like he used to when Eddie stumbled into Scoops to buy a butterscotch waffle cone.
Mrs Mulgrew by the cash register never smiles, but she seems quietly tickled by the smartly dressed boy Robin’s dragged in, and she waves them over, showing off a recent donation of genuine silver teaspoons. Robin tries a joke about stealing them to sell on the illicit teaspoon black market, which makes Steve roll his eyes, gently bumping Mrs Mulgrew shoulders, like: God, I can’t take her anywhere. And Mrs Mulgrew’s icy composure cracks, her crinkly wrinkled lips itching at the sides into an almost-smile.
She buys some old black work boots and two oversized man’s shirts, and Steve clearly, really, really doesn’t understand why out of all things, those are her purchases, but he doesn’t say anything. Both of them still figuring out how much they can push the line. The snide remarks stilling on their tongues when the obvious need for something kind is binding them together.
She kicks off her old Converse in the car before they drive home. Shoves on the new boots and wiggles her toes under the steel caps. Counts out the last few dimes left remaining in her wallet and curses under her breath.
We need new jobs.
Yeah, duh. Steve says, and Robin smiles, because they’re finding their line. She grabs at his hand.
We are going to find gainful employment. She swings their hands into the air, like it’s a joke, and he laughs too, but they are a we, now, and she might never let go of this hand ever again.

Top 5 Unique facts about Europe
Europe, a continent steeped in history and culture, is home to an array of unique features that distinguish it from other regions of the world. Spanning diverse landscapes, languages, and traditions, Europe offers a fascinating blend of the ancient and the modern. With 44 countries, each boasting its own distinct heritage, travelers are often captivated by the stories, customs, and innovations that define European life. From iconic landmarks to hidden gems, Europe invites exploration and discovery at every turn.
One of the continent's most intriguing aspects is its rich tapestry of cultures, reflected in its languages, cuisines, and festivals. Europe is not just a collection of nations; it is a vibrant mosaic of diverse identities, each contributing to the overall charm of the region. Whether it’s the smallest country in the world, Vatican City, or the intricate rail systems that connect bustling cities, the Europe trip is full of surprises waiting to be uncovered, making it an irresistible destination for adventurers and history enthusiasts alike.
Here are some unique facts about Europe.
1. Vatican City is the world's smallest nation:
With a total area of only 110 acres (44 hectares) in Rome, Italy, Vatican City is the smallest sovereign state in the world. It is the residence of the Pope and the spiritual and administrative center of the Roman Catholic Church, despite its tiny size. The Sistine Chapel, home to Michelangelo's magnificent frescoes, and St. Peter's Basilica is just two examples of the breathtaking architecture of Vatican City. Despite its small size, this tiny state is a major center of both religion and culture, drawing millions of pilgrims and tourists there each year.
2. The London Underground, the oldest underground railway in existence:
With its opening in 1863, the London Underground, also referred to as "the Tube," is the world's oldest underground railway system. The Tube, with its recognizable logo and iconic map, has grown to be a vital component of London's transportation network. With a service area of over 402 kilometers (250 miles) and 272 stations, it effectively links the city and offers convenient access to the main attractions. The London Tube is an essential feature of daily life for Londoners and a must-see for tourists alike. It not only displays Victorian engineering prowess but also illustrates the historical development of urban transportation.
3. Varieties of Languages throughout the Continent:
Europe boasts an impressive linguistic diversity, with more than 200 languages spoken in its numerous nations. 24 languages are recognized as official by the European Union, including well-known tongues like English, French, German, and Spanish. In addition, the cultural fabric of the continent is enhanced by innumerable minority languages and regional dialects, such as Basque and Catalan. This diversity of languages is a reflection of the intricate history of Europe, which has been shaped by many different empires, cultures, and communities. This diversity is frequently celebrated through festivals and educational initiatives, which makes language speakers feel proud of one another.
4. Creative Transportation Frameworks:
Europe is renowned for having extensive and effective public transportation networks, which make traveling throughout the continent easy and reasonably priced. Extensive rail networks with high-speed trains like the TGV and ICE connect major cities in a matter of hours in countries like France, Germany, and Spain. Furthermore, a lot of European cities place a high priority on environmentally friendly transit options like electric buses, trams, and bike lanes. This dedication to cutting-edge public transportation raises the bar for urban transportation globally while also improving travel experiences and promoting environmental sustainability.
5. Europe as a Special Political Organization:
A unique political and economic union, the European Union (EU) is made up of 27 member states that have made the decision to work closely together. The EU, which was founded to advance economic growth, peace, and stability, makes it easier for people to travel freely and to engage on a range of issues, such as security and environmental protection. This dedication to unification is further demonstrated by the Schengen Area, which permits travel between numerous EU nations without a passport. The EU is a fascinating case study in regional integration because of its unique political structure and policies that set it apart from other international organizations.
Conclusion:
Europe is a continent filled with unique facts that enhance its appeal as a travel destination. From the smallest independent state, Vatican City, to the vast linguistic diversity found in its 44 countries, Europe offers experiences that cater to every traveler's interest. Its innovative transportation systems, such as high-speed trains, make exploring multiple destinations seamless and enjoyable. The blend of rich history, modernity, and cultural diversity ensures that every visit to Europe is memorable and enlightening.
For those planning a Europe trip, these unique aspects add a layer of excitement and wonder to the journey. Whether it’s marveling at architectural masterpieces, indulging in diverse culinary delights, or immersing oneself in vibrant local traditions, Europe has something for everyone. As travelers uncover the continent's hidden gems and iconic landmarks, they are sure to leave with cherished memories and a deeper appreciation for the fascinating stories that shape Europe’s identity.

Lithium Ion Battery Safety Bill
The bill, introduced in the lords, at a glance it looks like this is bill is designed for regulation of larger Li-on battery systems, the smallest being micro mobility devices which means electric bikes and scooters, to larger scale battrrty energy storage systems.
There may be fuzzy lines between what is and isn't counted as a micro mobility device, would electric skateboards count, for me that is a yes but the bill isn't so clear. It defines secondary power but hover boards which are smaller still are primarily electrically powered.
The bill largely distances parliament from drawing up the regulations putting these within the hands of a regulatory body, and establishes that CE and UKCA marks are required to comply with these regulations on goods sold within the UK, I'm not entirely certain the UK government has the Authority to do that with the CE mark as that specification is set by a European group but that's another matter.
For BESS facilities and installations the requirements are meeting environmental permits and planning permission, home battery backups and commercial battery backups for computer infrastructure may face additional challenges going forward, I'm assuming the commercial systems will develop a process to manage this but home installers of DIY Tesla power walls and equivalent systems may not be made aware of these regulations or the extra planning permissions needed.
There is a provision to have Li-on battery disposal and recycling labeling on products but there are no mechanisms within the bill to require local authorities to provide access to those facilities if recycling and disposal aren't already options. For me I'd like to see a Li-on battery buy back scheme that buys and reprocesses Li-on batteries as though they were equivalent grade ore. Refirbishing or recycling these materials would be reasonable, and its wouldn't be the first time this sort of mechanism was in place, glass bottles and aluminum cans both had similar "return it to us for discount or money" schemes in the past.
The bill has nothing particularly objectionable in my opinion, the requirements for battery safety specifications are clear after several large and well covered vehicle and facilities fires. My only concern is that the legislation is relatively watery in that it doesn't address certain market segments like electric vehicles, and it falls a little short of genuine answers to obvious problems.

How to travel more sustainably
Originally written for and posted on the Give a Day Global Blog.
Who’s already planning their next trip?! I know I am. But more than ever, I am thinking about reducing my individual carbon footprint. The hard part is knowing how to do so and what is the most impactful. In this blog post, we’ll share some tips and tricks to travel more sustainably. We’ll include some sources as well, so you can do your additional research before planning a trip.
But first, what does traveling sustainability mean? It is defined by the UN Environment Program and UN World Tourism Organization as “tourism that takes full account of its current and future economic, social and environmental impacts, addressing the needs of visitors, the industry, the environment and host communities.” Simply put, traveling sustainably is all about equilibrium between economic growth, human well-being, and environmental health.
Sounds complicated and daunting, but below are some things you can start doing now to be a better traveler:
How you go
According to the New York Times, “Transport is one of the biggest emitters of greenhouse gasses and other harmful pollutants.” Thinking about how you get to your destination and how you get around can really make an impact on leaving a lighter footprint.
Long story short, if you need to fly, the shorter the distance, the less efficient it is. To help make better decisions when looking at flights, check carbon emissions on Google Flights. This can help you decide if flying is the best option, or if you should find alternative means like driving or by train.
Once you’re at your destination, it is also important to think about whether there’s a more environmentally friendly way to enjoy the city:
Consider bike or walking tours.
If you’re on the water, sail instead of taking a power-engined boat.
Renting a car? Consider electric, or at least the smallest vehicle that suits your family’s needs.
Take public transit where possible. This is also a great way to meet local people.
Try carsharing, which can save money and emissions.
Consider activities that combine experience with environmental benefits, such as beach clean-ups.

Where you go
We’ve all done it. We’ve been at tourist hotspots that were being overrun by hordes of visitors, to get the perfect photo. But what if instead we traveled off the beaten path?
Sustainable Travel recommends visiting smaller cities or going to more rural areas. Doing so will reduce the burden on over-visited destinations, while spreading tourism benefits to other local communities. Supporting local businesses and entrepreneurs – like homestays, local guides and programs that give back to communities – help ensure your dollars stay in the local economy.
If you are set on traveling to a popular destination, consider scheduling your trip during the off-season. Check out this website which helps estimate the best times to avoid the crowds (!!!).
If you need some inspiration on where to go, TimeOut just released their world’s most sustainable travel destinations right now list.
Give a Day Global also has volunteer opportunities in 15 countries around the world. Check out our volunteer opportunities as you plan your next sustainable trip!
What you pack
After you’ve picked your destination, packing smart is the next important step to traveling more sustainably. You can do this in two ways:
(1) Consider a capsule wardrobe so you can mix and match outfits while remaining stylish. A capsule wardrobe allows you to pack less and make your luggage lighter / easier to transport. Don’t worry, you won’t have to compromise your style!
(2) Avoid single used plastics. Every year, 8 million metric tons of plastic ends up in our oceans. One of the easiest ways to reduce your single-use plastic consumption is to pack a reusable water bottle when you travel. The Good Trade recommends these 9 Eco-Friendly Water Bottles That Are Sleek and Sustainable.
Other reusable and environmentally friendly items that can lessen the trace you leave behind from New York Times:
Cutlery and small containers. Taking along a small container for snacks can help reduce your plastic consumption, as can reusable cutlery. If you’re short on space, even taking one item, such as a foldable spork, can help reduce your footprint.
Reusable straw. Plastic straws are known to harm wildlife and pollute the oceans, and in recent years have increasingly been replaced with alternatives, and in some cases, banned entirely. But with the travel industry lagging behind on these changes, you may want to consider bringing your own stainless steel or collapsible straw.
Toothbrush and toiletries. Choose a bamboo or biodegradable toothbrush, and bring soaps, shampoos and conditioners in refillable silicone bottles, like the GoToob from humangear, a San Francisco-based company that makes a number of travel-friendly products.
Sanitary products. Consider using a reusable silicone sanitary cup over disposable tampons, applicators and pads, which often contain plastic and other synthetic materials that can harm the environment.
Clothesline. Take a pegless clothesline to hang up on your balcony or in the bathroom for small laundry loads and delicates.
Kindle or iPad over books. Bringing your books along in digital form can lighten your load and save paper at the same time.
Tote bag. Pack a cloth bag for extra souvenirs, a day out or shopping. Doing so is likely to minimize picking up plastic bags along the way.
Cloth napkins. Using cloth instead of paper napkins means less trash every time you eat. Take a few along and pop them in with the laundry when they get dirty.
Sunscreen. Many sunscreens contain oxybenzone, which is toxic to the symbiotic algae that live within corals. Bring along a reef-safe option, such as Raw Elements, instead.
Soaps. Consider bringing along an all-use biodegradable soap such as Dr. Bronner’s, which can be used to wash your body, hair, dishes and clothing.
Ready to start planning? Wherever you decide to start your new adventure, there could be a wonderful one day volunteer opportunity to make it even more special. Learn more about the destinations and projects at Give A Day Global.

Guide on shifting E-bike gears
As for electric bikes, some beginners don't know how to use their gear shift system. And beginners should familiarize themselves with the gears on their bicycles to understand how to use them. This is an important skill to practice, as you can only change gears while pedaling. After this, the focus should shift to how to use bicycle gears when appropriate.
What are bike gears?
Gear is a great invention that allows us to ride faster, get up hills more accessible, and have more fun riding. Gears translate the force you apply on the pedals into the specific output on the wheels. There is a limit to how much power your muscles can produce, and there is usually the most efficient optimal rhythm (how fast you rotate the pedals).
Changing your gear to stay within that range widely, depending on the terrain and conditions, allows you to advance more efficiently.
How to use bike gear shifter?
Anticipate the terrain
If you're riding uphill or windward, you'll feel an increase in effort. This is because the ‘low speed’ gear on the bike is the smallest sprocket at the front and the largest sprocket on the rear gear. In this position, pedaling is most accessible, and you can pedal uphill with minimal resistance. Therefore, switching to a lower gear makes sense to solve the problem.
Also, remember to shift gears before climbing, not when you slow down quickly and put maximum pressure on the pedals. If you shift gears on hills, shift gears one at a time and temporarily reduce the strain on the pedals while shifting gears. If you hear a lot of friction, it could be a sign that you're putting too much pressure on the pedals while shifting gears – excessive friction can wear out your drivetrain faster. On flat or downhill sections, multiple gears can be changed at once.
Slow down and engage a lower gear to accelerate out of turn more easily when you're on a sharp turn. Similarly, if you need to stop at certain traffic lights, switch to easier gear to make riding easier when the light is green.
A big no-no is that when you use an external drivetrain, you shouldn't shift gears when stationary. Instead, always ensure you pedal to perform a smooth shift, gradually shifting gears throughout the range to find the right gear.
Use an easier gear
When in doubt, use the simpler gear. Changing into a gear that is difficult to pedal may seem faster, but it can quickly drain your strength and can cause damage to your knees. Pedaling at a higher pace in an easier gear is more efficient than pedaling slower in a harder gear.
Throughout the ride, maintain the maximum pedaling speed that makes you feel comfortable. Then, after a few rides, you can sense it's suitable for your pace. You can also scientifically understand things by purchasing a bike computer to monitor the speed while riding precisely.
Which Gear on a Bike is Easiest?
The simplest gear on a bike usually depends on the type of bike you are riding. However, a hybrid bike with 7 gears will have its ‘simplest’ gear on top of the flywheel located at the rear.
If the gearshift mechanism of your gear shows numbers, the same ‘easiest’ gear on the flywheel will be called gear ‘1’. The gear is perfect for climbing and low-speed riding.
Electric bikes with a 7-speed gear shift system
The fat tire electric bike has Shimano 7-speed drivetrain, which provides accurate and smooth gear shifting capability. As a result, it moves easily during the ride to tackle those hills.
Besides, it has a multi-function LCD. It supports you in controlling the ride easily. You can adjust the assist level from 0 to 7 to lower or raise the speed assist easily. Speed, battery output voltage and capacity status, accumulated mileage, and other information are shown on display. It is clear at a glance.

We had earned a coupon for a two for one river cruise (yes our free gambling addiction paid off) and set off for Williamstown this gorgeous morning. Even without the savings, it was a great cruise, walk and brunch at Tick Tok. Yes I put aside my conspiracy theory temporarily. Lots of lovely neighbourhoods, botanical garden, city beach and historic sights as Williamstown was the first port before Melbourne. We even saw a foxlike animal sneak its way into the bushes. And after almost 20 days of Australian sun, I’m unfortunately sporting my first sunburn. We decided to sit outside on the back deck on way out and inside (rooftop open) on the way in but stupidly I left my hat at home and failed to reapply the 50SPF.
The return trip was a bit insightful. Melbourne is far larger than I imagined.
Three enormous tankers carrying vehicles were in the port being unloaded. And that’s done individually by a few drivers at a time - followed by a van who picks up the drivers and takes them back to pick up more vehicles. There was already an incredible inventory of vehicles unloaded as far as you could see in a parking lot. Now I’m wondering who needs all these new vehicles. And then I look up on the Westgate bridge and it’s wall to wall traffic with semi’s loaded with vehicles too. And the same is happening no doubt in every major port in the world probably multiple times a week. Wondering when enough motorized new vehicles is enough and where do all the crushed used cars end up.
Then we passed huge tanks of waste fuels awaiting pickup which apparently were set on fire by lightning a few years ago and continued to burn for three days. Melbourne wanted to move the tanks but who wants them so now they are regulated to be only half full. The river cruise captain was unaware where these waste fuels are bound for in the first place. So now I’m wondering what happens to waste fuels. Oh yeah and the chemical used to put out the fire contaminated the surrounding soil. The soil?! Wondering about the impact on the waterway.
Finally before we reached the remade Docklands, there was an impressive cement plant. But of course, how do you remake a rundown port into a community of skyscrapers and condos but with endless amounts of cement. Yet as far as I know, cement is not helpful for the environment. Wondering if maybe we can come up with some better solutions.
The enormity of the Port of Melbourne and the lucrative business of shipping and consumption makes me wonder if our personal environmental efforts (eat less meat, compost, recycle, electric bike, hybrid vehicle) are ever going to be enough to have even the smallest impact on climate change.

MOTO/WINTER EXHIBITION
I ve decided to do reviews of some of Jeny's earlier videos for those of you that might not have explored the older catalogue yet.
My first visit to earlier videos is Jeny at a motorbike exhibition where she interviews various people whilst wearing a black dress as short as only Jeny knows how to and with a pair of black knee high boots and pantyhose (is Jeny wearing panties? We find out soon enough!) and a cap with a silver badge!
Her first interviewee (or should that be victim!) is a Moscow police motorcyclist who Jeny flirts with outrageously and it's our first clue as to whether she is or isn't wearing panties (well we get our first clue as Jeny mounts the electric motorbike that the officer is proud of) Jeny is at her teasing best as she sits astride the bike and people quickly get their phones out to catch a glimpse of heaven.
We then catch her chatting to a guy who is showing off a piece of equipment designed to help bike riders to maintain their balance (well I think that was what was for, I was too busy watching Jeny trying to maintain balance whilst wearing very high heels!)
Which is when a couple sitting down next to Jeny notice that she is only wearing tights and the wife makes no secret of filming right up Jeny's ultra short dress and actually encourages other bystanders to do the same! Luckily Alex is videoing from the very same angle. Jeny is in 'innocent' mode surprised that anyone can see anything whilst giving the most outrageous of cheeky smiles to the camera.
The interviews are humorous as enthusiastic salesmen try their upmost to impress Jeny whilst clearly bewitched by this sexy lady. Next up is an older man who is taken by surprise by her request to do a nude shoot with his equipment and says 'of course' not realising that Jeny meant here and now! As screens are hastily erected around the stand, surely not the only erections that day. Jeny strips down to just her boots, seamless pantyhose, belt and cap. We get to see all of Jeny's body in all its glory as she lays back, legs spread wide revealing her pussy with the smallest of landing strips. Jeny is at her teasing best when wearing next to nothing in front of an audience or cameras and I for one can't get enough of her!
Later Jeny meets the Russian 'Lemmÿ' (of motorhead fame) and a very serious doctor whilst guys try to take pictures of Jeny upskirt and she plays her part magnificently!!
For those readers of this review who is are not already members, this video with well over 200 others like it are only a few clicks away at jenysmith.net
