I see Salem as living with her aunt and uncle (maybe dead parents or sm like that) but they aren’t the *best*. For religious reasons they can *not* divorce and they absolutely can’t get along- so it’s constant arguing till eventually Salem is dragged into it- it’s the entire reason why she’s constantly around town helping people or hanging out with her very small group of friends all day and always bottles up her feelings and always puts people before her even if they suck. And also the fact she might be moving in with her eldest brother that lives all the way on the other side of the country- even if this town sucks she doesn’t want to move cause all her friends live here

It's Salem Blair's turn!

Salem has probably changed the least, I've yet to really feel the need to change her to much. She still gets her smirk/cunning smile, dark hair pulled up into a bun with strands framing her face, and love of fine/formal clothing. I also still try to give her a gothic/romantic goth vibe and I've yet to change her mask design.

That being the biggest changes are the smaller details and the design of her clothes/dress. She has far more red accents to tie her into the Crow Family, particularly red gems. She also gets a subtle weapon at her hip in both drawings, one that can be easily disguised as another accessory to those who aren't looking for it. And her eyes have gone from black to silver.

(Also- bonus demon appearance in her first ever drawing)

I love the implication that emerald and mercury just … hang out and are friends.

Like when we first see them together, going to Tuksons shop, emerald is going there to preemptively deal with a situation to please Cinder (very obviously her idea) and Mercury just decides to tag along. And it gets better when we see Mercury training by himself and Emeralds just sitting there, not training or anything she’s literally just there for quality time.

And their jokes! Like when Mercury follows her to Tuksons, they actually have banter. Then when they are talking with Roman and Cinder, they start joking about what kind of Faunas he was, to the point that Cinder told them to shut up.

And after they fake Yang hurting him during the tournament, he makes a joke out of being in pain and she punches him in the arm (such a flirtatious move tbh) and he asks what’s up with her, because he expected her to laugh and even go along with it. She responds that she has a headache from using her semblance, implying that her not joining in on the joke is a rare occurrence.

I just love them, I love how crwby has presented their dynamic and how they’re such good friends (they’re deeply in love)
