I don't like talking about twitter drama anywhere but I just found the funniest twitter drama I've seen and it's literally about turon (a filipino snack made up of a fried wrapped banana with glazed sugar). Here's the translated thread as I guide you to this insanity:
"I SCOLDED CASHIERS AT SM MANILA SUPERMARKET. The line to buy a turon was long and there were only a few turon left on the stand. I was in the middle of the line and there was a lot more people behind me that wanted to avail a turon."
"There were 2 cashiers that were on break or had clocked out maybe that went to the cashier of the turon stand, and I heard that they were trying to reserve 2 turon. The cashier said 'Go to the line hey' but these two insisted that they don't need to go on the queue. So my blood started boiling because I really hate getting cut off in line."
"Then the one cashier took 2 turons for the two cashiers that cut in line. One of them said 'Dat ours?' then the cashier gave the turon to the two cashiers that cut in line and were waiting at the counter to pay. So my blood boiled even more."
"Then I told the cashier 'Miss you actually let these two cut in line while there's so many people in line, you're being unfair to the people waiting at the back' the cashier said 'Ah the two, sir?' Then I replied 'Obviously, yes!' with a bit of an angry tone in my voice."
"The 2 cashiers that cut in line for the turon were already holding them then I told these other two who were assigned in the counter that 'If you don't give up the turon, I'll let your manager know, there's a lot of people in line hoping to buy it too.' Dont tolerate that kind of attitude. So unfair!"
"The two cashiers didn't really say anything and they took the turon from the other two that cut in line. I just don't get why there's these kinds of people that could already see that there's a line but are still forcing themselves in and would choose to be unfair to others."
"Given that they're employees of SM, shouldn't they be more understanding because we're customers where they work. I'm not saying that the customer is always right, I just wish that they also know what's right and wrong. And there, I was able to buy a Turon with Chocnut*. Delicious!"
"And the people in line behind me because they were also able to buy some. 😊"
Additional Context:
Turon in SM is priced at PHP 25 which is relatively cheap. It's bout 0.50 USD?
More comparatively, seeing as OP looked at least middle to upper class (we'll discuss that later), it would've been easily affordable to him, but maybe a bit of a struggle for the two cashiers since they make less than the national average and are also contractual, often losing their jobs and not having any benefits.
Chocnut - a popular Filipino peanut butter chocolate that has a powdery consistency. it often melts in your mouth and is widely popular and beloved across the country.
This shit blew up and I mean blew up like this was just over ONE thread
It blew up so much that TURON started trending in Filipino twitter
Most people agreed that although cutting in line is bad, it seemed like OP felt way too proud of himself and probably should've just let it go because they were probably underpaid, overworked employees who only had 15 minute breaks.
OP's replies were also reeeeally self-important like
Person 1: mygod girl just dont anger a hungry person. lols OP: I stood up not for myself but for the people who were in line too and willing to wait. Again, respect and let's just be fair. Person 2: Oh no, he rly thinks of himself as a hero after what he's done here 😭😭😭😭
People jokingly started calling OP patay-gutom (lit. dead-hungry), a term we use here for someone extremely hungry and typically those who are hungry because of extreme poverty so OP decided to prove the haters wrong by... telling people that he was actually a millionaire???
Person 3: You're a bit patay-gutom sis in this part. All that lashing for turon? Hahaha. Get a life girly! Person 3: This is the deleted tweet of sissy @/op's handle [Screenshot of OP's tweet with an attached censored image of one of his bank account information that shows that he has 1.5 Million Pesos. OP: Me who's patay-gutom and a girly with no life, is this okay now? Or do I SS my other banks? Jkkkk✌🏻]
So anyway, here's some of my favorite tweets translated!
The turon of SM, bow The turon of SM is queued for The sweet banana, sugar and chocnut Spreads at every bite Giving joy to those in line and the cashier Yet the poor cashier Who stood for ten hours Was denied two of the turon...
Next time you should just buy turon here I mean you have P1.5 M in Metrobank anyway [Image of the top of a menu for Amanpulo Clubhouse Restaurant]
The line for turon at SM jk: [screenshots of two videos of people slowly walking in a line in a crowded railway station]
motherfucker your thread is so long that if you just used the time you used to type to just go to the next sm to buy turon
------------------
It's officially been about a day and half since this happened but it's still trending right now which is pretty crazy. I don't think I've ever been this blown away with discourse over filo twitter until now. I will probably think about Turon Man for a good while.
#mayaposts#mayapino#filipino#philippines#twitter#twitter drama#discourse#twitter discourse#turon#bananas#sm manila#manila#idk what else to tag this as#turon man#long post#people calling him a karen is so funny ngl#like honestly i get getting pissed off by this and yeah i could see people i know do this kinda thing but posting about it and then adding#what's essentially an ''and then everyone clapped'' in the end really made this story personally#then op revealing himself as a millionaire? *chef's kiss*#all for a cheap fried banana snack that from a chain mall that's honestly pretty mid compared to other easier and cheaper places you could#get it from#i know i do mostly history stuff but this was just so funny my friends who are otherwise also disengaged from twitter had been laughing#about this man for at least an hour now#we'll probably reference him for days to come#i also decided to translate this manually because the auto-translate isn't giving it justice + it didn't translate some of the tweets fsr

World Tourism Day
Travel Guide: Manila, Philippines
Manila, the Philippines' vibrant metropolis, is a dynamic mix of old and new, with ancient Spanish architecture meeting modern skyscrapers and busy marketplaces coexisting with elegant retail malls. Whether you're interested in the city's rich history, eclectic cuisine scene, or vibrant culture, Manila provides an intriguing and comprehensive experience.
When to Visit:
The dry season (November-May) offers less humidity and rain, with cooler temperatures from December to February. The wet season (June-October) offers indoor activities like museums and shopping and is less crowded.
Top Attractions:
Intramuros: The historic heart of Manila, built during the Spanish colonial period. Visits include Fort Santiago, San Agustin Church, and Casa Manila Museum.
Rizal Park (Luneta): A sprawling park dedicated to José Rizal, hosting the National Museum Complex.
Binondo, The World's Oldest Chinatown: A vibrant neighborhood known for its Chinese-Filipino culture and delicious food.
Manila Ocean Park: An aquarium and marine-themed park offering a variety of activities.
Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP): Home to Filipino performing arts, hosting concerts, ballets, plays, and art exhibits.
Local Experiences:
Experience the Philippines' iconic jeepney ride for a colorful and affordable way to explore Manila. The city is a shopping paradise, with luxurious malls like SM Mall of Asia and bargain hunting at Divisoria Market and Greenhills Shopping Center. Enjoy local crafts, electronics, and clothes at these popular shopping destinations.
Food & Dining:
Manila is a hub of Filipino flavors, offering a diverse range of street vendors and fine dining options. Famous dishes include lechon, a traditional pig dish; adobo, a soy-braised chicken or pork dish; and halo-halo, a refreshing dessert made with shaved ice, sweetened fruits, jelly, ube, and leche flan.
Must-Try Restaurants:
Ilustrado Restaurant in Intramuros offers a blend of Spanish, Filipino, and international cuisine, while Barbara's Heritage Restaurant provides a cultural dining experience with traditional Filipino food and folk dance performances. Aristocrat is renowned for its Filipino comfort food.
Day Trips from Manila:
Tagaytay, Pagsanjan Falls, and Corregidor Island: • Tagaytay: 2-hour drive from Manila, offers cooler weather and Taal Volcano views. • Pagsanjan Falls: 3-hour boat ride through river gorge, ending with refreshing waterfall. • Corregidor Island: Historical island off Manila Bay, played a significant role during WWII. Guided tour of ruins, tunnels, and military barracks.
Nightlife:
Manila's nightlife scene is vibrant, particularly in Makati, Bonifacio Global City, and Malate. It offers trendy rooftop bars, live music, and dance clubs. Poblacion, known for its hip vibe, features speakeasies, bars, and clubs. Resorts World Manila, a luxury resort and casino, offers sophisticated dining, theaters, and bars for a sophisticated night out.
Getting Around:
Manila's traffic can be busy, so leave additional time to drive. You can get about using Grab (the taxi service app), jeepneys, buses, or LRT/MRT trains. Local communities also have tricycles and pedicabs accessible for shorter trips.
Cultural Etiquette:
• Mano Po: Traditional respect gesture where younger people place elder's hand on forehead. • Bayanihan Spirit: Filipino hospitality, friendly locals, and helpfulness encouraged.
Shopping:
Divisoria is a popular market known for affordable goods, while SM Mall of Asia is a massive mall offering luxury goods, local brands, an ice skating rink, and an IMAX theater.
Conclusion:
With its blend of colonial history, vibrant urban life, and ingrained culture, Manila is a city of contrasts. Whether you're taking in the lively culinary scene or discovering the old-world elegance of Intramuros, Manila provides a diverse and colorful experience that will make for lifelong memories.

I had a dream, where some modern king (maybe around his mid 20s) toured the tourists (including me) around his palace or something, and then one of my friends (apparently) took a carved crown from the statue and wore it, before she gave it back to the king.
I said, "why did you do that?"
She probably thought I was asking why did she gave it to the king, so she said, "He's looking at you, did you know that?"
And then we walked to a different object or something, and I glanced behind me and I saw the king looking straight at me. And then when the friend and I looked at another object, and when I looked back, he's still looking at me, with the carved crown on his hand. And in the dream I thought, "Is he going to make me his bride?"
And then my dream changed its sequence to me standing somewhere in Europe, where I thought to be Paris, with Filipino jeepneys, and one of the routes is "SM Dasma" (which is real, it's a mall here, but imagine, a ride from Paris to SM Dasma, Philippines???). I didn't ride them because I don't know how much the fare was.
And then the dream sequence changed, a lady was explaining what a shilling is....then my phone alarm rang.

BTS’ J-Hope Announces First Solo Tour ‘Hope On The Stage’: Details [Forbes]
After much speculation, J-Hope of BTS officially announced his first-ever solo tour.
Set to begin at the end of February, the 30-date Hope on the Stage trek spans major cities in Asia and North America, making live history as the BTS rapper-dancer-producer steps into the solo spotlight.
The tour kicks off with a three-night stay at Seoul’s massive KSPO Dome from February 28 to March 2, marking J-Hope’s first standalone concerts in his home country. From there, Hobi heads stateside, performing multiple nights at iconic venues such as New York’s Barclays Center and Chicago’s Allstate Arena. Notably, in April, J-Hope becomes the first BTS member to headline a stadium show solo when he plays Los Angeles’ BMO Stadium and also the first Korean soloist to book the LA stadium, solidifying his status as a pioneering force in his group and K-pop at large.
Out of respect for the large-scale wildfires in California, BTS’ official accounts shared that more details for the tour’s North American leg will come later.
Although Hope on the Stage marks the star’s solo touring debut, J-Hope is no stranger to commanding massive audiences. In 2022, he became the first-ever South Korean artist to headline a major U.S. music festival at Lollapalooza. His solo material also offers a wealth of options for his setlist, ranging from his acclaimed 2022 solo album Jack in the Box (which peaked at Number 6 on the Billboard 200), to fan favorites collaborations like “On the Street” with J. Cole and “Chicken Noodle Soup” featuring Becky G (the latter of which saw him become the first member of BTS to send a single the Billboard Hot 100 chart), as well as material from his 2018 Hope World mixtape (which still charted in the Top 40 on the Billboard 200 despite being released for free and only in digital formats).
More recently, J-Hope dropped the Hope on the Street Vol. 1 EP and an accompanying six-part docu-series last March that explored the roots of his inspiration and passion for street dance.
J-Hope’s tour comes shortly after completing his 18-month mandatory military service. Upon his discharge in October 2024, J-Hope has kept a lower profile by attending just a few fan events and other engagements. However, this tour signals the start of an exciting new chapter for the performer and his return to the global stage.
Though there has been no official announcement, fans speculate that new music may accompany the tour. If past releases like “Chicken Noodle Soup,” “On the Street,” or his “Rush Hour” collaboration with Crush are any indication, J-Hope will likely keep blending global sounds and styles that resonate with an international audience.
While ARMY fans eagerly anticipate BTS’ group comeback, long rumored for late 2025, J-Hope’s solo tour is a testament to the continuing creativity and ambition fueling the members during their hiatus. Following Suga’s Agust D World Tour in 2023, J-Hope’s tour adds another layer to BTS’s evolving legacy to further establish them as superstars, whether in a group or working solo.

𝐀𝐳𝐢𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐰! in the Philippines <33
𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐲: What it would be like if Azi and Crowley were to be in the Philippines. (just some cute little imagines)
𝐍𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐬: No Warnings! Chaz is currently working on chapter 8! so for now, i wanted to do something other than the fic, considering that I'm Filipino, Chaz convinced me to do some cute little imagines if azi and crowley we're in the Philippines, Happy Readings!
- The two of them would stroll around divisoria, well, aziraphale liked it due to the many stalls open in every corner, crowley doesn't like it on the other hand, since it's mostly crowded and all, but he does end up buying a duck hair clip.
- I feel like the two would go to one of the national locations/shrines and would go like.. "do you remember when we met him?" "hm.. i suppose? was he the guy..." "yeah. yeah. definitely."
- Would stroll around rizal park for fun, just a cute little date around the park like normal. <33
- Aziraphale would always be glad to go to churches every sunday. just like any other Filipino, maybe light a candle every sermon, then Crowley would take him to a mall after. (SM I LOVE YOU)
- During the early part of the Spanish Philippines period, Crowley would have protested with himself one too many times to do a "Harana" to aziraphale yet end up chickening out.
- Aziraphale would have a personal composed poem by José de la Cruz "Husend Sisiw", Also a copy of Noli Me Tangere or El Filibusterismo in his bookshop, and other literary works, such as Florante at Laura or Ibong Adarna.
- Crowley would probably enjoy a night drive in BGC, maybe even persuade aziraphale to come with him. and the both of them would enjoy eating street foods (siomai, fishball, kikiam, etc.)
- During the time when the urban legend, the manananggal were popular, People may have mistaken crowley as the mananangal once, and he would feed into the rumors too. and aziraphale would joke to him about it.
- They would celebrate like Filipinos, decorating the bookshop at the start of september. then would have a cute little vacation in Baguio at Christmas. Crowley would drive aziraphale every "Simbang Gabi" yet due to Crowley being a demon, he would wait outside church in the Bentley, waiting for aziraphale to finish.
