Inktober 2024 — Day 15 — Guidebook

Returning to our favorite PlayStation Heroes (or at least my favorites XD), I was wracking my brain how to do something for this day’s prompt. Eventually I thought, “Hey, the Thievius Raccoonus is basically a guidebook, right?” and I ran with it. I am proud I was able to get the writing on the front cover done pretty well since doing typography by hand is tricky for me. I’m also happy with how each hero turned out, especially with their expressions.

I actually had two ideas for this scenario. One is as seen above with Sly reading the book as Ratchet and Jak peak over his shoulders, one intrigued, the other slightly judging (or however you’d like to interpret it). The second idea would have been Ratchet and Jak reading the book themselves with Sly behind them either panicking, seething, or about to knock them out with his cane. While it was a more entertaining idea, I didn��t go with it because, A) it was a lot more complicated and I had already made up my mind with this scene, and B) I feel like Ratchet and Jak would at least respect Sly’s heirloom since it’s from his ancestors and the strongest connection he has with his family. That’s just my thoughts at least.

It was compulsory, nessassary, and a strange part of his nature that he couldn't resist. The plum of redish maroon smoke filled the museum. "I am the Darkest of Terrors that flap in the night! I am the bug on the windshield of justice! I, am Negaduck!" He announced to the seemingly empty museum, though that didn't seem to bother him as he posed dramatically holding his cape out like a set of bat wings before releasing them. He then strutted around the place casually, avoiding the security lasers. The smoke helping a lot with that.

His goal was a golden snake statue that he took care in swapping out for a toy rubber snake. "HA! Child's play. With you, I have the map to the legendary Midas gauntlet. I can turn this whole world to solid gold! I just need to figure out how to read this damn thing!" The yellow clad duck growled, turning the golden statue around in his hands, distracted in his task.

His long-sleeved footed onesie is light greenish blue with black tron-like trailing, a black hoodie with a small bright teal gear print, & a printed white rocket with light blue & red on the front. ⚙🚀

& To the right, baby girl Genesis Mar with her cute elf ears, light tan skin, purple eyes (which she gets from her late grandpa Damas) & short 8 inch straight natural tri-colored top yellow blonde/middle green/bottom blue hair. She's dressed in a long-sleeved footed onesie that is in a light reddish pink color with a dark pinkish red collar, white cross bone print on both arms, electrifying angelic wings printed at the back, & a big white Punisher-style skull printed on the front. 💗☠

Baby Rockett is holding a toy wrench that looks like his daddy's omni-wrench while baby Genny (short for Genesis) is waving her tiny left hand that has pink sparkles encircling around, & baby Annona has her arms full with what looks like a huggable rainbow diamond plush!

& The 3 PS babies (let's say around 5 or 6 months) are all sitting next to each other & having big happy smiles!

Inktober 2024 — Day 3 — Boots

Okay, so today’s crossover is one I never really considered, but DANG am I glad I thought of it!

So to start off, I struggled figuring out what I wanted to do for “Boots”. I even talked with family to get some ideas, but after the past two prompts all we could think about was Dora the Explorer. So I took a step back and thought to myself, “What characters do I know who wear boots?” You’d think Puss in Boots would be the first to come to mind, but nope! It was Sly Cooper. To be fair I’ve been in a Sly Cooper binge recently, so it would make sense in that context. But then I also thought of Rouge the Bat who I knew had some killer boots. Then it all came together: Both Sly and Rouge are thieves, they’re both very elusive, and they’re capable fighters in their own ways. So what would happen if the two had a run in together during heists? From there I planned out a fight scene and I absolutely love how it came out!

I wanted to further emphasize the “Boots” prompt by having Rouge kicking Sly. I also tried my first motion effect on her boot and for my first attempt, I’m happy with it. I also added a bit of story to it, with Sly holding the gemstone necklace they were both going after, maybe a hint as to who got to it first. Again, the connection between the prompt and the drawing is loose. But I’m still proud of what I came up with.

As a side note, who do you think would win this fight? Or at least who do you think is going to leave with the treasure?
