Inktober 2024 — Day 18 — Drive

Okay, so you know that meme where you draw three comfort characters in a car all looking grumpy and the reference has Goofy driving, Patrick Star in the passenger seat, and Fluttershy in the back? Well that’s what inspired this! I finally got a chance to try it myself.

I actually drew four characters: Galo Thymos, Izuku Midoriya, Shadow the Hedgehog, and Smokescreen (specifically from Transformers Prime). These four have been my go to comfort characters for a while. Shadow in particular has been my favorite for as long as I can remember! My friend actually suggested I draw Smokescreen’s expression up in the corner to make sure it’s conveyed that he is the car they’re driving and that was the right call! (On a side note, I know technically Smokescreen doesn’t have a back seat in TFP since he’s a race car, but I’m giving him one this time)

The story behind the drawing itself is that Izuku once again has broken his hand and needed someone to pick him up. Galo and Smokescreen go to pick him up while Shadow just hangs out in the back. I am really happy with how I was able to convey everyone’s emotions and current states. It was also just a fun excuse to draw some of my favorite characters.

Im currently hyperfixated on both sonic and warrior cats so ive kinda been trying to think of an au crossiver kinda thing. So like warrior cats, the whole clan system and maybe even a full retelling of the first 6 books, but like in the Sonic universe.

Im considering the clans are like 4 seperate cat tribes that live in an area that has a bunch of magic energy flowing through it from a buried and hidden gem.

Gem's powers

Prevents any machines or devices from working

Permanently alters the minds and bodies of people living in the energy field to make them more wild (sharper and stronger claws and teeth, heightened senses, made to eat primarily raw meat, wild instincts are much stronger, often are faster to become aggressive)

Above only happens to felines

Absorbs the souls of those that died if they lived within its energy range long enough, uses said souls as a way to keep emitting energy. (Thats why cats that have been dead for a reeeaaalllly long time slowly fade) ☆Starclan☆

Grants Starclan cats the power to dreamwalk with the living and grant leaders their 9 lives.

Shows Starclan vauge visions of future threats to warn the living cats.

Causes plants to grow with healing properties.

I feel like i might've forgotten some details i had thought of, but if people wanna ask stuff or even add your own suggestions go ahead please!!!

Inktober 2024 — Day 3 — Boots

Okay, so today’s crossover is one I never really considered, but DANG am I glad I thought of it!

So to start off, I struggled figuring out what I wanted to do for “Boots”. I even talked with family to get some ideas, but after the past two prompts all we could think about was Dora the Explorer. So I took a step back and thought to myself, “What characters do I know who wear boots?” You’d think Puss in Boots would be the first to come to mind, but nope! It was Sly Cooper. To be fair I’ve been in a Sly Cooper binge recently, so it would make sense in that context. But then I also thought of Rouge the Bat who I knew had some killer boots. Then it all came together: Both Sly and Rouge are thieves, they’re both very elusive, and they’re capable fighters in their own ways. So what would happen if the two had a run in together during heists? From there I planned out a fight scene and I absolutely love how it came out!

I wanted to further emphasize the “Boots” prompt by having Rouge kicking Sly. I also tried my first motion effect on her boot and for my first attempt, I’m happy with it. I also added a bit of story to it, with Sly holding the gemstone necklace they were both going after, maybe a hint as to who got to it first. Again, the connection between the prompt and the drawing is loose. But I’m still proud of what I came up with.

As a side note, who do you think would win this fight? Or at least who do you think is going to leave with the treasure?

Summary:

As he thought about it, he realized a few things. First, that the destines of Mobius and the Mushroom World would be forever entwined because their worlds were forever entwined—and the destiny of their heroes was similar, no matter which way he picked. Secondly: despite his strength, and the strength of his brother, Mario and Peach wanted them to stay, not because they were helpless, but because they wanted them to grow up safe.

PERSONAL THOUGHTS

Really well written, like REALLY well written! Theres so much thought and detail put into thier characterization and how they intercat with eachother. The worldbuilding is beautiful and the areas in the fic are so beautifully painted frfr!!

The character arcs and internal conflicts are incredibly well done, They give SO much depth to these silly lil game characters, and we LOVE when people do that (i mean we were in the phandom thats obvious BANSNA). The external conflicts are also really good!! they're seem reasonable for what the story's about, and they always add to the internal conflict, Never take away from it!!

We haven't read their other fics, but honestly we'd love to check them out even though we aren't hyperfixated in Mario bc BEHHSHS they're writing is very scrumptious
