“Clarke!”
Turning your head up, your eyes widened at the sight of Harper running in with a man beside her holding someone in his arms. You fell into action when you realized it was Octavia, who was extremely pale and unconscious. “Octavia?” Clarke called, moving over to them
“She just stopped breathing,” Harper explained.
“Okay,” Clarke began. “Get her on the table. Now.” Clarke ordered, knocking off whatever had been on the table before as the boy listened, setting Octavia gently down on the table. “There’s a stab wound in her belly.” Harper notified. “She’s soaked in blood.” Stepping closer, you stayed back to give Clarke her needed space, but close enough incase she needed help.
“Okay. First things first.” Clarke moved her hands over the middle of Octavia’s chest, placing one over the other as she began compressions. Under her breath she began counting and you felt everything slow as you impatiently waited for Octavia to wake back up. “Who are you?” Clarke asked the man. “How did this happen to her?”
“Illian Kom Trishanakru.” He introduced, and you noticed how he seemed almost in shock. “I was on my way home from Polis when I found her.”
Clarke slowly stopped compressions, her face tense with worry as she pressed open Octavia’s mouth, beginning mouth to mouth. Your hand fell to your mouth, your bottom lip falling in between your teeth. “Come on,” Clarke whispered, lifting her head to hear for Octavia’s breath. You guessed she didn’t hear anything, because she pressed her mouth against hers again and started blowing.
She continued to do so, and you felt the sinking feeling in your stomach that Octavia wasn’t going to wake up. Before, she lightly coughed, her head falling to the side. You felt yourself able to breath again, panting with relief as Clarke began doing her best to sooth Octavia. “Okay. Get her to medical now.” You heard footsteps and turning you saw Monty running to find something that could carry Octavia.
“Getting her here, saved her life. Thank you.” Clarke panted over to Illian. He only nodded as Clarke turned her attention back on Octavia as began to become more aware of her surroundings. “Hey- hey, it’s okay. You’re okay. You’re here. Octavia you’ve lost a lot of blood.” Monty returned with carrier, running over to where Octavia laid. “But you’re home now. I’m gonna help you.”
Octavia mumbled something you couldn’t quite hear. Stepping forward, you made your way over to Clarke along with Monty. “What’s she saying?”
“I-” Clarke shook her head.
“Azgeda is coming. Army... marching.” Octavia mumbled.
“Octavia,” Clarke began. “Hey, stay with me. Stay with me.”
“War is coming.” You looked up at Clarke, looking for a solution that you knew she didn’t have. She avoided your gaze, moving along Octavia to help carry her and place her onto the stretcher. “Take her. Go.” Sliding your hands underneath Octavia, you helped lift her up along with the others until she was placed on the stretcher. “Start an I.V. Blood and fluids. And- And get a suture kit ready.”
Harper and a few others picked up the stretcher as Clarke made her way over to you. “Okay. I have to do this, but get Kane on the radio. Find out exactly what’s going on.”
Turning to Monty, you nodded; “on it.”
-
“Okay. We station gunners along the wall, that way we can thin their numbers before they get a chance to close the distance.”
“And when they get close?” Harper asked.
“Hydrazine.” David explained. “We buried what was left in the engines when we landed. It’s being dug up now. We’re gonna pour it into trenches.” Feeling Clarke enter, you turned to her with concern.
“How is she?” You asked, already knowing she knew who you were referring to.
“Strong.” Clarke reassured.
“Listen. All we have to do is spread it in front of the outer wall. Then when the army get’s close-”
“We light it up,” Riley smiled.
“That’s it.” You furrowed your brows, confused about how this was going to help anything.
“You want to light a fire outside of the ship we just spent the last month getting ready?” Monty asked and you subconsciously nodded, you didn’t agree with the plan at all. Not when it meant wasting a months worth of hard work.
“That’s not happening.” Clarke interrupted before David could answer, stepping past you to make her presence known. “Any word from Kane?”
“No,” you answered with a solemn look, looking down in worry. Not only was there no word from Kane, Bellamy hadn’t been heard from in a while either. “But Jaha found the cargo truck twelve hours out. No sign of Bellamy or Stephen.” You explained further, not bothering to hide the worry in your voice. Bellamy was out there, somewhere, no doubt in Roan’s hands along with your father, and as of now you could do nothing about it.
“I have to speak to Roan.” Clarke sighed, “something happened, some sort of misunderstanding.”
“Clarke, if he wanted to talk, he wouldn’t be coming with his army.”
“Right, but there’s only one way to get here from Polis. I’ll ride out and meet him.” You shook your head, it was a risky plan. Clarke didn’t even know why Roan was marching on Arcadia and if it wasn’t just a ‘miss’ understanding, then something even worse could happen to her.
It seemed David agreed as he shook his head; “are you--” He paused, before straightening his back and folding his arms. “No. Absolutely not.”
“Actually,” Monty spoke up, interrupting whatever Clarke had been about to say. “That might work.”
“Monty, what the hell are you talking about?” You asked, furrowing your brows in disagreement.
“The Ice Nation thinks they have the element of surprise,” Monty began, placing his hands on the table before him. “But, thanks to Octavia, we do. Pike showed us how valuable that can be.”
“Your citing Pike?” Harper asked, raising an eyebrow in shock at Monty. Letting his head fall down, Monty nodded; “as awful as that sounds, yes.”
-
You felt your body tense as the Azgeda warriors brought forth who you could only guess to be Bellamy and your father. With chains around their wrists, you watched the warriors holding them shove them down to their knees ungracefully before pulling off the hoods on their heads. You finger instinctively tightened on the trigger, your heart breaking at the sight of your two closest people in danger.
“Your move, Wanheda.” Roan spoked, and you snarled when swords were placed at Kane’s and Bellamy’s chests.
“Y/N.” You heard David come through the radio, and looking up from your gun you saw him looking at you across the gap. “You okay?” At the sound of his voice, you were reminded of where you were and exactly what your mission was. Your finger lifted off the trigger, you falling back to your gun; “yeah.”
“Ten minutes.” Clarke bellowed; “that’s all I ask.”
You watched Roan hop off his horse, stepping forward as Clarke took that as a sign to lead him away. You followed Roan with your gun. “Wait, where is she going?” Echo called, trying to warn her king. “What if it’s a trap?” Roan only ignored her, continuing to walk forward.
Finally he turned around; “if it is a trap. We’re already in it.”
“Okay, shooters. They’re moving towards the cave. Let the king go.” You followed without hesitation, moving your gun back over to the large Azgeda crowd. Though your eyes fell on Roan when one of the shooters was still targeting on Roan.
You looked around you until your eyes fell on Riley, his body moving with Roan’s. “Damnit, Riley, what are you doing?” It seemed Monty and Harper caught onto the same thing, as Monty asked into the intercom. “Your target is the army. Clarke is negotiating with their King. Stop targeting. Over. Riley come in.” Monty reminded.
“Negotiating with these people is a waste of time,” Riley responded. “We have the high ground. We have the guns. We should just take them out.”
Shaking your head, you brought your walkie-talkie up to your lips; “negative. We stick to the plan.” You whispered, glaring at Riley from aside. He was on the same side as you, but too far away for you to really be able to communicate with him.
“You really think Ice Nation gives a damn about your plan?” Riley spat back into the walkie-talkie. “I have a clear shot on the King.”
“This is a tinder box. One shot and we’ll be at war. If you do this, it will be a massacre.”
“Listen,” you called desperately. “They have my father, they have Bellamy, I want to shoot them more than anyone else. But I won’t, because if you do then not only will we be at war, but Bellamy and Kane will be killed on the spot.” You weren’t wrong, it was the one reason why you hadn’t shot the King when you had the chance.
“Stand down.” Monty grounded out. “Riley,” Monty called out when Riley didn’t listen.
Finally his target fell off Roan and you let your head fall to your arms in relief.
“Okay, the King is clear.” Echo spoke up. “Archers, first shot you hear, lose your arrows.” The Azgeda warriors did not fail to listen, running forward with their bows raised and arrows ready to be shot. “Infantry, on my command, scatter and climb. Kill till there’s no one left.”
“This is insane.” Kane sighed, shaking his head incredulously. “They knew you were coming. We have thousands of rounds. You’ll be the ones with no one left.”
“Then let’s hope no one shoots.”
-
“All units. Radio check. Unit one.”
“Unit one, check.” Monty replied.
“Unit two.”
“Unit two, check.” You responded, your eyes not moving from the figures of your father and Bellamy.
“Unit three.” Though your attention was pulled away when Unit three, Riley, did not respond. “Unit three. Riley, where are you?” Furrowing your brows, you looked over to your left only to find Riley was gone, his gun with him but his walkie-talkie still there.
“Costa, eyes on Riley?” You asked, pulling the walkie-talkie to your lips.
“Went to take a leak.”
“How long ago?”
“Don’t know. Not long.”
“He took his rifle.” You sighed. “Went to murder the king that in-slaved him.” Taking a deep breath, you debated over your options. There wasn’t many. Getting up so you were low enough not to be seen but able to crawl, you began making your way across the rock that you’d been purged on.
“Y/N, what are you doing?” Monty asked concerned. “Maintain your position. I repeat, maintain your position.”  You only ignored him. You had no other choice. If you did not do this, then an all out war would fall and your father and Bellamy would fall by the hands of Riley’s vengeance. You were not going to let that happen.
You continued crawly until you were on the ground, walking out before the Azgeda warriors. You’d left your gun on the rock but had your radio, your hands up in the air for surrender. You continued to walk, your heart racing as each step felt heavier than the other.
“Skaikru, look out!” You stopped walking when the archers stepped forward, bows at ready. Raising your hands higher, you alerted; “hey, stop. I’m unarmed.” You called, “I need to talk to whoever’s in-charge.” An Azgeda soldier ran forward, grabbing your arm as he dragged you forward. You did not fight his grip, knowing better than that.
When you reached just so you were a bit aways from Bellamy and Kane you were aggressively thrown to the ground. You slumped forward, groaning in pain as you felt hands pat you down for weapons. Looking up you found Bellamy in front of you and despite the moment, you smiled lightly; “Bellamy...” You breathed.
“Y/N.” Bellamy smiled hesitantly, and suddenly you were reminded of that night. You wish you could just relive that night, do again and be with him like you wanted to be with him. Without all the killing and all the wars, just you and him, living a normal life. “Is Octavia alive?” He asked, his voice shaking. Without hesitation, you nodded.
Holding your hands up, you found Echo in front of you; “speak.”
“One of our people has moved out of formation. I have reason to believe he’s trying to kill your King.” You explained, hoping that your voice came across sincere. It felt wrong, to come to the conclusion that you were not doing this to save everyone like you once would’ve, you were doing this to save your father and Bellamy.
“Why are you telling me this?” Echo asked, confusion and suspicion written all over her face.
“Why do you think she’s telling you this?” Bellamy suddenly asked, turning to Echo. “She’s trying to stop a massacre.”
“Who is it?” You father asked you.
“Riley.”
“Riley?” Bellamy asked, astounded. “He shouldn’t even be here.”
“Wasn’t my decision.” You responded, shaking your head.
As Echo began making her way to her horse, she ordered two of her men to follow her. As she moved to leave, Kane called out; “wait! If our snipers see archers move, they’ll open fire. Tell her,” Kane ordered you.
“Those are our orders.”
“I will not allow our King to be assassinated.”
“He doesn’t have to be,” Bellamy tried. “I know Riley. Let me come with you. I can stop him.”
“Do you think me a fool, Bellamy?” Echo spat.
“You’d be a dead fool if you step out of this kill box without me. Use Y/N’s radio and let Kane tell them we’re working together to find Riley, and they’ll let us pass.” Echo remained silent, seemingly thinking over her option before nodding to the man who’d taken your radio. Catching it, she held it before your father’s lips.
“This is Chancellor Kane,” your father began. “Listen to me. Bellamy’s working with one of their own to find Riley. You let them through, you understand?”
“Copy that.” The minute Echo had the affirmated, she ripped the walkie from Kane’s hand, attaching it to herself. She began speaking something in her tongue, an Azgeda warrior stepping forward and took off the chain that linked Bellamy to Kane. “...And put it on this one.” Looking up, you found Echo’s eyes on you.
Soon Bellamy was lifted up and the both of you swapped places, you being pushed on your knees. “If i’m not back by the time that sun goes past the trees. Kill the hostages.” Your eyes found Bellamy’s on you, and taking a deep breath, you nodded his way.
You knew he could do this.
-
“Bellamy!”
The minute you called his name, your eyes fell on his form, crouched down. In his arms was another and as you stepped forward, you found Octavia. “Oh my god... Octavia!” You ran forward, reaching Bellamy in no time and falling to the ground next to him, your eyes scanned her figure. She was obviously still injured but it didn’t look like it was lethal.
Your attention was pulled elsewhere when an explosion sounded. Looking up, you found part of the Ark falling. Your eyes narrowed as the flames burned your face slightly, Hissing, you turned your head away. “Y/N.” You heard Bellamy call, and looking over to him you gave him a knowing look.
Everything you’d worked so hard to built was falling in front of your eyes. Your solitude, even if you weren’t on that list, it would’ve saved the human race. But now, as orange and yellow lights reflected off of your eyes and all you could feel was the lick of the flame make your face sweat, the Ark was being destroyed right in front of you.
Without saying anything, you let your head fall against his shoulder. The only thing you could hear was the sound of flames cracking and the Ark falling apart.
-
“Bellamy, can I talk to you outside for moment?”
You’d just finished the briefing meeting and Bellamy along with Clarke was going to be leaving in order to bring the fuel Raven needed. You opted to stay back, knowing that you needed to be here if anyone needed help. But that didn’t mean you weren’t worried about Bellamy leaving again. When he nodded, you smiled and felt his hand grab yours and lead you out of the room.
You were sure you received confused glances as you exited the room, hand in hand. No one knew of you and Bellamy’s new found relationship but part of you didn’t care it. It was nice to have something to yourself. In times like this, it was nice to just be able to talk to Bellamy, without having to worry about the end of the world coming.
When you were outside, you shut the door gently behind you. Only to turn around and find Bellamy grinning down at you. Shaking your head with a faint smile, you stepped towards him; “I just got you back. So... just, be careful, okay?”
Bellamy let his hand fell on your cheek, holding it as he rubbed his thumb softly over your skin. “Y/N,” Bellamy started. “When I came to you that night-” Your smile fell at his words, was he regretting it? “I’m so happy I did, don’t get me wrong. But I need to know, even with the end of the world coming, do you want this?”
The smile lit back up on your features, it vibrant as you leaned forward to press a kiss against his lips. “More than anything.” You whispered, and Bellamy grinned himself, allowing his hands to fall on your hips. “I heard about what the list, about how you tried to trade your name for mine.” You confessed softly, you wanted him to know that you were so grateful he cared about you like that.
“Y/N-”
“All my life, since my mother died, no one’s cared for me like that. Sure, now I have my father back but no one’s tried to do something like that for me.” You smiled up at him, looking at his dark brown eyes. “Even if the list doesn’t matter anymore, I want you to know that i’m thankful.”
“You mean so much to me Y/N, I would do anything to make sure you stay alive.” Nodding, you let your arms fall around him for a short, meaningful hug.
“You’ll be careful, yes?”
“Of course.” Bellamy reassured and you nodded, pleased. Stepping out the hug, you looked up at him with fondness; “you should get ready. I believe Clarke wants to leave as soon as possible.”
“I should check on Octavia before I leave.” Bellamy stated and you nodded, grabbing his hand, you squeezed it; “I’ll try to keep an eye on her for you.”
Leaning down, he pressed one final kiss against your lips; “thank you.”
-
You found yourself later sat beside Monty in the bar, both in silence. All you held was a cup of water before you as you heard a crowd of sky-people shout in anger at something or someone. You hadn’t really been paying attention to them, only hearing random words or sentences.
Though, you found your attention pulled away from your thoughts when you found Niylah leaning up against the table you sat at. “The boy they’re talking about is in med bay with no protection.” Your eyes widened, your gaze instinctively falling to the crowd as they yelled for revenge.
“We may have a death sentence coming our way soon, but he has one today.” You heard Hardy announce aloud, making the crowd fully place their attention on them. Looking over at Monty in alarm, you both stood up. Finding Jaha, you both seemed to have the same idea as one another, making your way over to him.
“Make no mistake this was a hate crime, so let him feel our hate!”
“Yeah!”
“Let’s kill him!”
“Jaha,” you whispered, looking at him with shock; “you okay with this?”
“They’re just blowing off steam.” Jaha breathed, taking a sip of his drink.
“Blowing off steam?” Monty repeated incredulously, and you couldn’t help but agree. How could he just be so calm about all of this? Though you found Monty’s next words more than you thought they were going to be; “is that what we were doing when we strung up Murphy for killing Wells?” With wide eyes, you turned over to Monty, shaking your head.
Jaha turned up to look at the both of you and you couldn’t describe his expression even if you tried. Pulling back, you gauged him for a reaction but all he did was turn back to his cup, pointing at it; “pour.” He ordered Jasper who didn’t hesitate to oblige.
“They listen to you. Say something.”
Jaha did the exact opposite, turning himself so he no longer had to look at the both of you. Appalled by his reaction, you jerked your head back; “Wells would be ashamed of you.” You spat, not waiting to see his reaction before you walked off with Monty in search of your father.
-
“Lock this room immediately.” Your father ordered, walking into medical bay while you, Monty and a few guards followed. “They’re right behind us.”
“Yes sir.”
Following your father, you made your way over to Illian.
“Where is everyone?” Monty asked Octavia and turning, you found her sat up instead of laying down like she once was. In spite of the moment, it was good to know she was doing better. “Out there with them.” Following her words was a bunch a banging against the now locked doors.
“Open this door!”
“What do we do?” You asked in a panic, turning to your father who seemed to have no answer himself.
“Sir, maybe we should reconsider.” David offered, and you turned to him in shock. Sure, Illian had done some things, but you truly believed he hadn’t meant to hurt anyone with how he’d helped haul people out after the fire had started. You were as mad and upset as anyone but was David really condemning the act of letting an angry mob of people get revenge?
“No, they aren’t doing this.” You denied, striking your hand across for emphasize. David looked at you, before turning to your dad. You figured he thought your father would listen to him more.
“Listen, on the Ark, we floated people for less.”
“Mob rule will not dictate justice in this camp.” Kane stated and you watched David huff with annoyance before turning to the door as someone outside began pounding harder against the door. “Open this door right now, and nobody else gets hurt.”
“We can’t let them in here.” Monty stressed and you nodded; “they’ll kill him.” You added with a shake of your head. The pounding on the door got louder and heavier, you looked around you for a solution only to find Kane taking his gun out and he made sure he had bullets. Furrowing your brows, you wondered why he’d been so quick to pull it out.
“Wait, wait, wait!” David stressed, holding the gun attached to his hip. “Please.”
“If we let them descend into darkness, there’s no coming back.”
“It’s the end of the world, Kane.” Octavia griped, finally speaking up. “Darkness is all we have left.” You saw her stand up from her bed and panic settle within you. Kane and Monty called for her to stop but she didn’t listen.
“Octavia!” By the time you managed to reach her she’d already pressed the code in to open the door. You backed up as the mob entered, hastily trying to get away before they trampled over you. Reaching your father, you saw Hardy stop as Kane held his handgun before him. The rest of the mob instinctively followed but you knew that wouldn’t hold them back long.
An electricity sound buzzed and turning to your left, you saw your father collapse to the ground. “Dad!” You bellowed out, looking up at David in shock. The next thing you knew someone had grabbed your arms, pulling you back. “I’m sorry.” David whispered down to your father. You watched with wide eyes as Hardy leaned down to grab the handgun your father had dropped.
“Hey! No!” But of course your bellows were useless, they weren’t listening to you now, not when they had what they wanted.
Octavia stopped Hardy before he could reach Illian; “you want his blood, you can have it. But the kill is mine.”
-
“Sir, how do we stop this?” Monty asked, watching as Hardy and another led Illian out to the camp.
“I don’t know.” Kane answered and you sighed, taking the few steps forward until they shoved Illian down to his knees, smacking against the mud. Your eyes fell on Octavia as her face tried to remain emotionless but you could see the edges tearing.
Running up to her, you held her wrist softly. “Octavia, please don’t do this.” You begged, watching as she could hear you but chose not to answer. “Octavia, you’re not a murderer.”
“You’re wrong.” She spat, cocking her gun and placing her gun against Illian’s head. Panting, you backed up, hopeless as you shook your head in denial.
Illian looked over at Octavia, a brave facade on; “get it over with.”
Suddenly an alarm sounded, and you looked up; “black rain!” You father bellowed, “everybody get inside! Black rain!” Without waiting, the mob rushed inside, until it was only you, Kane, Monty, Octavia and Illian left. “Octavia. Octavia.” Your father called, trying to gain her attention as she stood in the same spot, her gun against Illian’s head. “Put the gun down and come inside.”
“They put Lincoln on his knees, too.” You swallowed the lump in your throat at the mention of Lincoln, your body un-tensing and watching Octavia for her reaction. “Pike stood right there... right where you’re standing... when they put a gun against his head.”
Slowly Kane walked up to Octavia, allowing his hand to fall on her arm gently to try and console her as her face twisted into sorrow. “I was there.” She whispered, her hand starting to shake.
“If you do this... you’re no better than him.”
You bit your lip as tears started falling down Octavia’s face and the gun fell from her hand. “It’s okay, Octavia. It’s okay.” Kane soothed. “Octavia, it’s okay. You’re all right.” You let out a breath when she shoved your father away, running off to the gates before anyone could say anything. With pity you watched her back as she ran off.
“Wait! Where will you go?”
