THIS THIS THIS THIS THIS. page breaking bc i have to talk about my boy.
tldr: chis are so smart, and i love them. i will beat you with a stick if you think they have one brain cell that just yaps. im mourning one, so i kind of derailed in this, so im sorry this is long. feel free to skip.
i have 1 chihuahua at the moment, but I have had the opportunity and blessing to love 3 chihuahuas in my time.
chihuahuas. know. everything.
yes, they are alert dogs with big ears and yappy mouths. but they have a purpose, and they were bred for that, and they know.
Kunai, my current and only chihuahua right now is the best example of this ever. we say he is in the same situation as Salem from Sabrina. hes just WAY too intelligent.
kunai knows that a specific reflection bouncing off the wall from the little windows on my front door means someone is in the driveway. he even knows, now, that specific reflections mean different cars. he howls differently when my dad pulls up than when my mom does. he doesnt do his 'i love you bark' when he sees the reflection of my uncle's car. He stares at the wall the reflections bounce off now when someone isnt home or its around 3:30 (usually when other people pull up to the house).
he knows that when my mother puts River up, she is waking up my dad for work (which means he gets to go to bed soon), so he will direct all the other dogs and US to our places so he can get there faster. BUT he also has immense FOMO, so he will pretend to eat his food until we all say goodnight and depart to our respective rooms so that mom doesn't pick him up to take him to bed.
he is an actor. he loves a good dramatic and will play it up and in different ways to get what he wants.
my 2 other chis, Honey and Poco, were also very intelligent and loving. they were more empathic, though, if you understand the difference in what im saying about them and kunai. they weren't dumb. They knew perfectly what was going on, but they didn't have the patience to deal with it the way Kunai does. they knew when you didn't like a person or you were uncomfortable. they cared more for your emotions than their own at times to their own detriment.
Kunai is truly hard to explain without you seeing him in action in person, but he is a master manipulator. and i dont mean in the usual 'puppy dog eyes' way. i mean full production: swooning, gaslighting, Purposeful and Deliberate Shunning.
He's my little person in a little furry suit, and i treat him as such. everyone in the house does. he understands us, and it confounds people that we dont baby talk our chis. he knows what we're saying, and he WILL ARGUE if he doesn't think it's the correct action to take. He's much more sensible than most in my family, and im not being biased at all. he knows better than them.
i love chihuahuas. i will defend them to my dying breath. i miss their barks frequently and how they didn't listen to me. their hearts often can't take the amount of love they have for their people.
It fucks with me that dog intelligence is tested with obedience tests, so there's a significant bias towards compliant dog breeds. Dogs that are intelligent enough to understand what is being asked of them, but are too headstrong and/or independent to go through with it, get lumped up with the dogs that might want to do what people ask them to do, but are too stupid to understand the assignment.
And it fucks with me that chihuahuas are actually quite intelligent. They're not stressed and angry because they're too stupid to understand what's going on. They understand exactly what's going on, and that's why they're so angry and stressed.

General Tags
#animal abuse: This is for anything that contains graphic visual depictions or written descriptions of animals being abused. I will also tag graphic text descriptions of animals being abused with this as well.
#animal death: This is for anything that contains graphic visual depictions or written descriptions of animals who are dead or dying.
#ask to tag: This is for posts that give me the "I should be tagging this with some sort of trigger warning" vibe, but I can't for the life of me figure out what. So if you know, please tell me.
#body horror: This is primarily for image-based body horror, but if something gets really, REALLY gruesome in my writing, it might merit this too.
#dubcon: This is for sexual acts that lack full and enthusiastic consent. In real life, a sexual act with anything less than full, enthusiastic consent from all parties is not consensual, full stop. However, in the world of fiction, this can sometimes have a slightly different connotation. The distinction between "non-consent" (noncon) and "dubious consent" (dubcon) is largely arbitrary, but usually it involves the party not fully consenting still being kinda into it, or sort of up for it. If you want more details on this, feel free to message me.
#flashing: This is for posts that have GIFs or videos with flashing effects that I think have even a slight chance of causing some people to have a seizure (or a headache, if that's what it does for you).
#gore: This is for posts with heavy mention of gore or an image that visually depicts it.
#incest: This is for anything to do with overt mentions of incest (though some incidential indirect mentions I might have to leave be, otherwise talking about the greek gods is gonna get tricky.
#noncon: This is for nonconsensual sexual acts that do not fit under the dubcon tag mentioned earlier in this list. This will usually include more aggressive and/or violent sorts of non-consensual acts. Again, it's a lack of consent either way, so if you just want none of that on your dash, please blacklist both tags.
#OOC: This is for posts out of character.
#spiders: This is for spiders. Not usually going to tag pics of Angeldust on this though.
#trypophobia tw: This is for images that contain a repetitive pattern of small holes. The "tw" is short for "trigger warning," which I added to indicate that this is a tag meant to specifically caution people with this phobia about viewing the image(s) in the post.
#undescribed: This is for posts with one or more images that do not have alt text or an image description. I will certainly add one or both for all images in content I personally create, and I will try to add image descriptions to posts I reblog when I can. However, for the latter, I sometimes just don't have the energy for it. For this reason, I tag such posts so that those who cannot fully enjoy the post without an image description and/or alt text can filter it out of their dash if they so choose.
Character Tags
I'm going to tag each IC post, be it roleplay or ask, with "#IC: [CHARACTER NAME]" for the time being. So, for example, if I make a in-character post with Bill Cipher, I'm tagging that #IC: Bill Cipher.

Fandom: Steven Universe
Rating: Teen Audiences (TW: language)
Words: ~3K
Summary: Lars has no idea what he was expecting the moment Steven texted him in the middle of the night to ask if he could come over, but being immediately tackled in an intense vice-grip of a hug the second he opened the door probably wasn’t it.
Set mid SUF.
I don’t think I’ve ever gotten to write Lars’ POV before this, but it was really fun! If you read this and enjoy, I’d greatly appreciate your support through reblogs here, or kudos/comments on AO3. Thank you! <3
____
Besides the quiet lull of the TV and the electric hum of the attic’s rickety old heater, all is silent in the Barriga household. The nighttime streets outside are vacant. Not a soul roams through his section of town, not even the newer Gem arrivals, who thankfully have been informed of humanity’s biologically mandated curfew by now. Sheesh, it’s about time.
After all, silence is peace. And in this day and age, in a world where the barriers between human and intergalactic politics are becoming increasingly blurred by the hour, peace is a gift.
Which is why having free time to play whatever old video games he wants in complete and total solitude at one AM is probably the single thing keeping him sane at this moment.
Lars’ fingers expertly flick at the joysticks of the controller as if by innate memory. It genuinely feels like forever since he’s been able to lose himself for hours in a solo campaign like this, and quite honestly, if given a choice he prefers it to any other leisurely activity. Chatting with his online friends or with that Gem gang of his is fun, sure, and working the counter at his bake shop can often be emotionally satisfying, but pushed too long and any kind of social interaction feels draining. He shifts on his bed, paying little to no attention to the slight chill against his bare chest. He’s pretty sure it’s like, near freezing outside and yet somehow it’s no more an annoyance to him than having to pause to reload an ammo clip in this game. It’s weird. Really weird. But then, at this point everything about his dumb life is.
It’s the Steven effect, he thinks with a soft scoff. Weird practically orbits him and his moms, and inevitably, every person he comes in contact with is brought into the fold. He’s a good kid, though. Don’t get him wrong. Steven always tries his best to be thoughtful when dealing with people he doesn’t understand— even when initially those people just act like dicks in return— and he for one is grateful for that, for the gift of a... a second chance. He knows full well he didn’t deserve it, (he still doesn’t), but he’s grateful.
The kid’s still on his mind when his phone lights up on the nightstand beside him, like the now familiar glow of Gems synchronizing to fuse.
(And goddamnit, does a part of him still balk almost two years later that it’s so normal to be casually relating everyday things to outer space Gem stuff anyways. What is he, with his pink hair and alien friends, the main character of an anime?)
Eyes skirt away from the grainy television set he’s been playing his favorite Immortal Combat on, and glance at the new notification.
Steven, the name at the top of the text reads. Well, lo and behold. The true shounen protagonist himself. Somebody’s ears must have been burning. Though, hmm. Come to think of it, that’s actually unusual. They pass bullshit memes back and forth sometimes, yes, but he never sends him anything this late at night.
Lars frowns, failing to obscure that annoying, instinctual worry that seizes him like the long lost sensation of hunger rising from the pit of his stomach, and scoots forward on his bed to grab his phone. What’s he want at this hour, anyways?
Steven: hey, sorry i know its late but can i come over ?
His frown deepens as he glances down at himself, clad in only a pair of boxers. He doesn’t mind having an unexpected visitor— after all, it’s not like he requires sleep anymore— but he’s not exactly dressed for company, here.
yeah but gimme a mo, he types back. kinda need to put on a shirt
Steven: k
Yawning out of sheer habit, he leans over the other side of the bed and grabs the first decent smelling tee he can find off the floor. It’s got an overlapping triangular emblem on it, a symbol from one of the game series he used to be obsessed with as a kid. He quickly shrugs it and a stray pair of sweatpants on, then returns to his phone.
decent now, he updates him.
The response is almost immediate.
Steven: be there soon
With a heavy inhale, he leans back against the headboard and begins to mentally prepare himself for the passage of One Whole Teenage Boy through the portal in his hair. For the most part he’s grown used to the changes caused by Steven’s literal magic resurrection, but not this. Who the hell knows how his pet lion puts up with it all the time. Quite frankly, how that creature has remained so docile and patient after years of interloping within Steven’s chaotic world of Gems eludes him, ‘cause it sure as hell isn’t a side effect of all the death-defying space voodoo.
Also, he’s like, 97% sure that “docile” and “patient” aren’t words anyone would pick to describe him at any stage of his life, ever.
And yet, yawning in his boredom, Lars waits.
And he waits.
And he waits.
And when eventually he breaks his stubborn streak and dares to check the time on his phone to see how many minutes have elapsed, how many minutes of his thrice-damned maybe infinite lifespan he’s wasted sitting up against the far wall of his room waiting for that kid to tumble right out of the literal inter-dimensional door hidden amidst the curls atop his head, he’s mildly surprised that his first emotional response to this delay is... dare he admits... disappointment.
It’s been nearly fifteen minutes. For whatever unknown reason, it seems as if Steven may not be coming over after all. Huh. He wonders what changed his mind. Pressing his lips into a thin line, Lars decides to check his texts. It’s possible the guy wrote something else and he just didn’t see it. But when he pulls up his latest conversation, all that comes up are the last messages they sent to each other. Be there soon, he said.
He hovers hesitant fingers over the keyboard, caught in the midst of trying to decide whether or not it’s too invasive and prying to send some sort of casual check-in, when he picks up on a very timid knock on the front door downstairs. And given the lateness of the hour, there’s really only one person it could be. He blinks for a moment, his mind still doing somersaults in order to process the mere concept of Steven not gleefully taking the opportunity to explode out of his hair for once in his life, and then drags himself up to his feet. Walks out of his attic room and down the stairs, being careful not to disturb his slumbering parents. Unlatches the locks on the door.
Truth be told he has no idea what he was expecting the moment Steven texted him at one fucking AM to ask if he could come over, but being immediately tackled in an intense vice-grip of a hug the second he opened the door probably wasn’t it.
He struggles not to stumble backwards at the initial force of the teen’s silent yet yearning embrace, eventually regaining his stability and... slowly, delicately... hugging him back. Honestly, he’s never been much of a hugger himself, but eh. He’ll give the guy this one. After a brief moment Lars gives him a few awkward pats, clearing his throat.
“Uh, Steven? You good to let go, now?” he asks quietly, still keeping his voice in a whisper for his parents’ benefit.
“Oh! Y-yeah, yeah,” his younger friend stammers, immediately pulling himself away. His eyes are drawn to the floor as he wrings his hands together. Timid. “Sorry, I just— I just needed somewhere I could clear my head tonight. Thank you, by the way.”
“No problem,” he throws back, gesturing for him to follow up the stairs. “‘S not like I ever sleep a wink now anyways. So I might as well have company.”
The two of them tiptoe towards the attic, a familiar setting for both. Steven’s been in here quite a few times before, so— already knowing the lay of the land— he plops himself down in the beanbag chair Lars keeps at the foot of his bed. They don’t talk about much of anything at first, merely passing back and forth brief updates about their lives. Small talk, nothing more. As expected though, Steven’s update is infinitely more interesting than his. Apparently he went on some mission to an alien planet with that Lapis friend of his the other day and had to deal with the attitude of some stubborn terraformers who didn’t want to stop working on their shitty old Homeworld assignment. (Meanwhile, the only update he has to offer is how he’s teaching Blue Lace Agate the art of bad baking puns while at work. Gotta leave behind some sort of legacy before he leaves with his fellow Off-Colors, of course.)
When the small talk finally dries up, (which seems... uncharacteristic, given the typical enthusiasm of his current visitor), Lars offers him a second controller.
“We can play the go-kart one, if you want,” he says, knowing full well that his friend isn’t a huge fan of all his war-themed combat games. Still, he figures the guy could probably stand to blow off a little steam. He looks super stressed, with his brow all creased and his stare unnervingly glassy.
The sixteen-year-old nods, adjusting his hands around the grips of the controller as Lars switches out the disk.
They race a few rounds in relative quiet, wholly insulated by the reassuring stillness of the night all around them, before Steven decides to open up again.
“Where do you think the line is?” he asks when they finish their current course.
His whole face scrunches in confusion. “Huh?”
“Between like, doing bad things, and outright being bad?” he continues, seemingly unaware of the comedic pulse of Lars’ initial response.
Lars blinks.
Considers these words deeply and thoroughly for a moment, as any good friend should.
And then...
“Where the heck did you pull that question from?”
Steven merely shrugs, his shoulders drooping a bit lower than they had been when he first entered his house a while back. “I dunno, just musing, ‘s all.”
The edges of his mouth curl downwards as he lets this corker of a conversation starter wash over him, not so much intended as a frown at Steven, but a frown at... whatever force of this universe would lead his friend to start musing about such depressing philosophical quandaries in the first place. Acting numb and brooding at the rest of the world is supposed to be his job, not this kid’s! And sure, yes, yes, yes, he knows he can’t exactly call him a kid anymore— at least not to his face— and that he’s been a teenager for a good three years now. It’s just that... well. For all his complaints about it earlier in life, Lars kinda grew to respect and feel uplifted by his cheery, upbeat, never-give-up-hope outlook. Dare he says, he kinda misses it.
(And for Steven’s sake, he kinda hoped he’d never discover the burnout and cynicism waiting on the other side. Alas, he fears that ship has probably sailed.)
“Sorry,” the sixteen-year-old mumbles upon noting his extended silence, his cheeks flushed with shame. “Probably not something anyone wants to think about at two in the morning. Just- forget I said anything, okay? Let’s play one more round, and then I can lea—“
Eyes widening, he holds up a hand to intercept that train of thought. “No, that’s— you asked an interesting question. Deep, but interesting. It’s fine, I don’t mind. I...”
He inhales deep, collecting his wits and whatever years of wisdom he may or may not have accumulated ever since dying and coming back to life.
“I suppose in my mind, people aren’t truly bad unless they intend to cause harm, y’know?” he begins, meeting Steven’s eyes. “You can still hurt others without meaning it, and like... that’s still not great, and you should still try and make up for it however you can, but... life’s complicated. People are complicated. It’s all a huge mess of emotions and ethics and beliefs all the time.”
He pauses, a twinge of melancholy rising within his chest as he catches a glimpse of a photograph hung on one of the wooden support beams at the far wall. It’s a selfie of him and Sadie he printed out a few years back when they were still low-key dating, one that— for the life of him— he can’t bear to take down. She’s kissing his cheek. He’s caught in the middle of laughter, playfully trying to nudge her away. They look... so young.
So naive.
(So human.)
“And sometimes it can be so, so easy to convince yourself that you’re always in the right,” he continues, quieter, “that people feeling hurt because of something you did is just their problem. In that case, it’s not that you wanted to harm anyone, it’s just... that you were blind to it, I guess.”
(And he was blind for a long, long time.)
“Like I said, it’s messy.”
Lars sighs, willfully averting his glance from the photographic reminder of all the ways he ignorantly fucked up with Sadie as a friend and partner, and with everyone in his life, making the same stupid mistakes over and over with nearly no improvement until he literally died to his old self.
“So, yeah. There. I guess that’s my opinion,” he mumbles, absentmindedly fiddling with the collar of his graphic tee. “Everyone makes bad choices sometimes, but you’re not actually a bad person unless you literally want to harm others. I don’t think people are bad once and bad forever, though,” he adds, pulling his hand away from his shirt.
Inhaling deep, he splays his palm wide, admiring those same old loops and whorls at the tips of his fingers, identical in every detail to his old, living, human self... but now pink. It's haunting, sometimes.
“People can change, y’know? If they make the effort to.”
When he finally glances back at Steven, he seems thoroughly spaced out by all his impassioned rambling, his gaze walleyed and void of any identifiable emotion. He scowls, unsure whether or not he should feel offended, and gives an exaggerated shrug to defuse the sickeningly earnest atmosphere out of this room.
“But hey, I’m biased,” he mutters, letting that instinctual, age-old self-depreciation coat his tone once more. “For all I know, everything I said could be absolute bunk, and I’m still just an asshole.”
“I don’t think you’re an asshole, Lars,” Steven finally speaks up, his expression still perplexingly unreadable.
“I—“ His eyes blow wider, the sheer frankness of this comment catching him entirely off guard, overturning all of his once-impenetrable defenses. “...Thank you. I’m trying not to be.”
The conversation doesn’t advance any further from there, both parties content to fade back into the understated comfort of silent companionship. They play a few more rounds of their racing game, Lars beating Steven handily each time. (Truth be told, he’s not confident he’s bringing his A-game, though.) Then, sometime around three AM, his friend drags himself out of the beanbag chair and announces that he should probably head home and get some rest. Apparently he’s got a lot of planning to do for Little Homeschool's graduation ceremony that’s happening in a few days, or whatever. Which, is fair. Not everyone is blessed enough to be a sleepless zombie like him.
“Y’know, it’s been nice, getting to hang out, just us,” Steven says— quiet, but genuine— as Lars leads him back down the stairs. “We should do this more often.”
Purposefully, given the unusual emotional atmosphere of this whole visit, he decides not to mention the fact that he's planning to leave Earth again when his all Gem friends finally graduate. Later, he thinks, when everyone's in a better place.
“Well, if you’re ever bored, you know where to reach me,” he replies as they reach the bottom step, fondly rolling his eyes. “The good ol’ inter-hair-mensional express. Just, y’know— text me. And not during work hours.”
The teen gives his thanks once again, and then exits out the front, making sure to be extra gentle shutting the door on his way out for his parents’ sake. Huh. Seems that even when he’s (seemingly) in a funk, he’s capable of being uber courteous like that. Goodness, how does he do it?
Lars stands motionless at the entryway for a few moments after he’s gone, staring blankly at the now empty space the sixteen-year-old just occupied. His brow furrows, his fingers curling in perplexion at his side. He doesn’t have enough insight into Steven’s inner life to claim anything for sure, but he can’t help but feel like something with that boy was... off, tonight. Like, beyond your standard teenage moodiness. His demeanor, his bizarre and specific question, his relative silence... it all seems to be pointing towards something, lurking in the background. Still, there’s little he can do for a person who’s not volunteering information. And it ain’t his job to drag it out of him, either. He always hated when his parents tried to do that when he was younger, and it almost ruined their relationship entirely. That’s the last sorta scenario he’d want to force upon Steven. He’ll open up when he’s ready, in the end.
And until then... well.
He just hopes that the kid knows that— beyond the bizarre magic portal in that pink lion’s mane— he’s always got a brother on the other side who’s willing to at least listen. To be but a small source of support.
If he wants him to be.

I didn’t wanna make this a post, but tumblr is refusing to save it as a page.. So I guess it’s reblogable.
These are just some mlm/queer anime that I’ve found and ended up liking, so I’ll update this as I find more! The paragraphs might be a bit spoilerish but they’re important for tws/cws. Any title in italics isn’t explicitly mlm, but can be interpreted that way.
Please note that I have bad memory and likely didn’t list all tws in stuff!
No.6
I'd rather read the manga than the anime since the anime does censor their relationship quite a bit, but if you couldn't tell from my theme, I love No.6! It's not the healthiest sadly, but it's still healthier than most anime with boys loving boys. There's also a trans nonbinary character named Inukashi! To sum up the plot, three queer kids take down the dystopian city (also there's the old man whos the token cishet probably). Trigger warnings for this are guns, blood, violence in general, prostitution, sexual harassment, needles, insects, vomiting, corpses, animal death, government conspiracies, human experimentation, and an oddly specific one that I feel should still be mentioned, surgery on the neck and surgery without anesthetics. on the neck.
Doukyuusei
This one's sweet!! It's about a boy teaching his classmate how to sing and they fall in love. There is some slight pedophilia but the scene is clearly meant to make you uncomfortable and the teacher gets beaten. This one's a movie!
Hoshiai no Sora / Stars Align
This is a sports anime! Or, well, kind of? The cast is of a boy’s soft tennis team. It was supposed to be 24 episodes, but got cut off at 12, and then almost wasn’t allowed to have a season two. As of now, season 2 should be coming sometime in 2020-2021. Now, this anime in general has a very leftist tone. Right off the bat, we’re given a main character who is gnc and lives with his single mother. This anime goes into so much more than just being about tennis that sometimes I forgot I was even watching a sports anime. It genuinely makes me so emotional, from how it handles queer topics to abuse. A huge focus of Hoshiai no Sora, instead of just being on soft tennis, is about the team and their family/home situations. Almost all of the characters are in an abusive environment, or had a past of being abused by a parent who’s now out of the picture. There’s two trans characters, one being a trans man, who’s dating the main character’s mother and is like family to him, and the other being x-gender and nblm. This was the first anime to take the ‘dressing as a girl to get into a place’ trope, and turn it into a conversation about gender identity without any transphobia in a realistic manner, even using queer terms like ‘ftm’ and shows the x-gender character reading an lgbt+ book. Many of the teams interactions with each other can be read as platonic or romantic, highly depending on how you personally interpret it, and a supporting character who hangs around the team reads heavily as lesbian, or at least wlw. So, if you’re queer and can handle seeing animated abuse without being triggered, this is definitely an anime I’d reccomend to you.
Content warnings for this, as of season one, are on-screen child abuse of both teenagers, toddlers, and babies, domestic violence, violence, blood, transphobia + denial of a child’s gender from a parent, dissociation, homophobia/bullying from peers, annd that’s all I remember off the top of my head.
This Boy Caught a Merman & This Boy Can Fight Aliens
These are also movies, and as obvious by the titles are created by the same person/people. They're not tied together in actual plot, though you will find some easter eggs referencing the other movie, specifically in the merman one. It's been a while since I've seen either, but there's almost drowning in Merman at the start as well as death of a family member.
Given
This isn't finished airing at the time of writing this, so I hope this promising series doesn't go downhill in the last few episodes. This is a band anime! All four members are mlm. It has very healthy friendships between teens and adults. It lets the characters speak openly about their sexuality and feelings. It's just very good. One of the characters is a victim of abuse from his father, and his ex-boyfriend did commit suicide for some current trigger warnings.
Update: Now that it’s finished, I’d say this anime still holds up! It has a very nice portrayal of the two main leads and their romantic relationship in the final episodes. Here’s to hoping the movie’s good as well~
91 Days
I'll always try to keep this lower on the list, since it's not explicit, and many people disagree on the homoerotic undertones. Personally though, I think it is gay. It's implied one of the main characters is killed in the end, though it's left rather open. It's a mafia anime, so there's already some stuff you should expect, but in more detail there's death of a child, guns, vomiting, cannibalism, drinking, torture, blood, and that’s all I can think of now.
Banana Fish
I’ll probably always keep this very close to the bottom. This is not a good anime for anyone who wants happy mlm anime. It’s depressing, gritty, and extreamly upsetting, but the two main characters have the most healthy relationship between two men that I’ve ever seen in anime. One of the main characters died in the end of the manga, but in the anime it can be interpreted that he survives if you look at the op and official site.
Trigger warnings are major character death, homophobic slurs, general homophobia, rape, child porn, abuse, drugs, drugging, drinking, torture, hypnotism, guns, explosions, child death, death of poc, eating disorders (specially acute anorexia) and probably a lot more I'm missing. I think this show handles rape victims very well, there’s some found family sprinkled in, and a lot of the major characters on the main characters’ sides are lovable and grow on you quickly.

Sort of important I guess. LONG explanation incoming. (Tw for animal death, seizures, if that upsets you, you might be better off just skipping this bc I kind of go into detail. Tldr, I need to avoid anxiety/drama on my dash, my personal life is a bit of a wreck, and I had to put a pet down, so I'm mostly taking a break) Hey so idk if anyone's really noticed my blog's been quiet for the last couple days (I might've liked a few things but I've mostly stayed on my new calm blog and there it's just been reblogging pics), but I'm probably gonna be staying off of this app for a few more days for the most part except the odd reblog. I've had a lot going on for months that's been building and building and especially this week I just completely broke down. Things still aren't great and I really can't take the endless drama and hatred and overall bitterness that's covering my dash with all the ta/ylor drama and the ship/fandom wars and all of the political stuff on top of that. I'm just utterly sick of it and I'm only going to hop on when I wanna post the odd thing or look at calmer content. I hope all of my mutuals are doing okay, I've noticed a few of you seem to be having a hard time as well and I sincerely hope things get better for you all. 💗 Most of the stuff going on has been health, finance or family related so I won't be going into any detail on that. The other thing was my cat, China. She's had epilepsy for a few years now (I think 3 or 4, I'm bad at keeping time straight), but it was manageable and she had excellent quality of life and ran and played. She was the smartest cat I've ever known, she could fetch better than our dogs (on command, and she learned herself I never taught her) and knew how to clear frosted windows from the inside with her paws to look through them in winter, and she even liked to hop on my back for piggy back rides sometimes. Unfortunately she's been taking slight turns for the worse over the last few months, and there wasn't much we could do. The seizures grew more frequent and she started developing a tumor, and I think her brain was starting to get damaged because she seemed to forget all of those little tricks she'd taught herself. She still adored me, but she'd lost her feisty spark and started spending most of her time lying around. Once my sister got her puppy that started stressing her out too despite my attempts to keep things in line. I'm not sure why she took a massive downturn all of a sudden (I knew she was getting worse and had started discussing some options with my mother, but it was like a switch had just been flipped one day), but this week things got really bad. I had to try and keep watch on her constantly to make sure she was in a safe area, and she started having multiple seizures a day (something that had only happened a couple times in previous months, and much less severe). A couple days ago she started having them every few hours, and while we were discussing euthanasia in a couple days (we knew it was going to be better for her at this point, but we thought we still had time left to schedule it), she started going into them every 30 minutes. My mom ended up having to drive me to an emergency vet hospital at 3:00 in the morning to put her down because we realized she wasn't going to make it through the night. I've never lost a pet from anything except old age (comfortably, in my own home), or from unfortunate circumstances outside of my control (where I thankfully never actually witnessed it). I was terrified to go, both from the guilt of taking a life that I wasn't sure I could handle (even if it was undeniably her only peace at this point) and that I would have to witness my little girl that I'd raised from a kitten die right in front of me. But I knew I'd regret it even more if I wasn't there in her final moments to help her soul pass on to heaven, so I sat in that car with a box in the seat next to me and bawled my eyes out talking to her the whole way there. I'm not certain she understood any of it because she was really out of it by this stage, but I hope she at least knew I was there with her. I can't talk about those last moments unless I want to bawl my eyes out, but I will say she's with my other cats now and she has a nice grave under a tree in our yard, and I know her soul is much happier now that she can be healthy and safe. She was honestly like a daughter to me, and I think she knew how much I adored her. I honestly haven't really mourned her deeply? That sounds harsh, but I think at this point I had already come to know it was going to have to happen and tried to prepare myself ahead of time for her disappearance (it was more the sudden severity and having to take her that night without preparation that really wrecked me), and now that she's actually passed on I'm just kind of relieved. Her declining health has been an ongoing weight that's kept me stressed and bawling and feeling like a failure for months now, and I'm just so glad she won't be suffering anymore. I'll miss her of course, and I'm sure after a few months it'll really set in that she's gone for good and I'll start crying the second I see her picture. But for now I'm just kind of thankful that I have that one massive source of anxiety and stress off of my shoulders. I knew it was bad but I hadn't realized just HOW badly it had been ripping me apart every day worrying about and praying for her and trying to comfort her until these two days after it's been so quiet. She's in a much better place now. I'll post some pictures I have of her soon once I gather them up, that way I'll have them for the future (i lost a lot when my old phone died though, unfortunately).

x @frogopera I didn’t wanna spam your inbox so here’s a list of recs, there’s anime in there as well bsjskqjdrjejqjr anyone is open to reblog this tho idc think of it as my official rec list pff tf t if you have any triggers I’d be happy to go through and let you know if they have them
Bojack Horseman: you’ve possibly already seen this but I would do a disservice if I didn’t include it. It’s genuinely the best animated series I have ever had the joy of watching and the pinnacle of adult animation. It’s inclusive, smart, very heavy and bojack is…he the kind of main character you don’t wanna relate to but you will • tw for drug and alcohol abuse, mentions of and implications of child abuse, and homophobia (gay character is fired and contracts prostate cancer ), and slight pedophilia ( bojack almost drunkenly sleeps with a teenager, technically legal in that state and she was sober but ewe no to the shows credit it’s painted as a BAD thing )
Home: the adventures of oh and tipp it’s a 2d animated series based around the dreamworks movie and it’s actually incredibly cute fun decompression stuff • tw for transphobia I think? they make some jokes about the alien races genders and like…..I can’t tell if it’s a transphobic joke or trying to teach kids pronoun usage tbfh
The batman idk how you feel about superhero stuff but the batman is a pretty stylish and interesting take in batman mythos and the art style is that kind of awkward but captivating and interesting. it really stands out if that makes sense
my little pony: equestria girls movies: okay hear me out, they’re actually pretty good ( so is the show in my frank opinion but the movies are a good jumping on point ) the movies take place in a more human world and rainbow rocks is legitimately fucking awesome with kick ass music and they’re all S U P E R gay with butch lesbian supreme sunset shimmer
the tinker bell movies: they’re centered around a whole world of fairies and like I’m psure they might not be 2d animation but they’re honestly worth a watch, just pure and fun.
lolirock:
cute french based cartoon about three magical pop star princesses and it was the show everyone was excited about because there’s a black magical girl. it’s just super beautiful and sweet and bubblegum but it’ll get you in the heart too
Glitter force:
it’s one of the few precure anime we dubbed and it just …. it’s silly and kinda dumb but if you just want pure cotton candy and sparkles this is the anime for you. the main girl has a deep love of fairy tails and happy ever after like 💕💕
Winx:
again a little shallow seeming and the art style takes some getting used to but it’s a big organic world of magic and wonder that will draw you in and genuinely surprise you in some places
Horseland:
it’s a pretty diverse show about a bunch of young girls and their magic talking horses they don’t know can talk. it’s again more feel good kid stuff but it tackled native cultural appropriation and litterly called out the white girl wearing native headdress so it gets bonus points from me
the last unicorn:
*clutches chest* it’s just beautiful and amazing okay
justice League / justice League unlimited:
both fairly awesome superhero series that helped start the dcau and are just fucking brilliantly written and still hold up today
batman beyond:
this show is dated af and is about future batman in the fuuuture man sjjzjqjejriejr it’s super great though and is just a nice take on a young batman still balancing school and life
the goofy movie
just a really nice hilarious movie that gets a lot more on the nose the older you get plus I’m still not over Roxanes character design it’s really aces
Balto;
again a lot of my love for this movie comes from its animation but it’s a pretty heartwarming story about what someone can achieve for those they love
I’m sneaking in Wendy wu homecoming warrior despite it being live action because it’s an actually fascinating Disney movie with a really cool mythos and ACTUALLY HAS A PREDOMINANTLY ASIAN CAST go figure sjsjsjdje
Atlantis:
I have a deep love for this movie and it doesn’t get near the recognition it deserves. it subverts the damsel in distress trope without being patronizing about it. we get a lovable scrawny nerd that’s actually respectful of the cultures he studies and his goddess of a future wife and like it was a movie written by mostly white people that managed to portray a tribal element without seeming racist
lucha Libre and really cute oft forgotten cartoon about latinx children in training to become luchadors like their parents
ao no exorcist:
is a really intense anime with catholic themes that really goes deep into the concept of nature vs nurture and has a pretty gay coded protagonist and focuses more on his familial relationship with his brother and the strain it’s gone under vs his possible romances
ruroni Kenshin and samurai champloo are good old classic anime if you’re looking for that old school feudal Japan feeling and adventure and rag tag looser building a family
K is a pretty fascinating anime in that if I explained too much I’d ruin the fun of discovering it yourself tho hey more queer coding
detective conan is a fucking awesome mystery anime but at like eight billion episodes and counting I wouldn’t worry too much about it sjajhdejskkf
Karneval is a really cute and funny, pretty anime following a sweet amnesiac child as he joins the circus to find the one he loves, and yes more queer coding like haRD
yu yu hakusho:
literally my favorite anime ever in existence and I’ll just keep this short it follows a demon hunter as life continues to screw him over and he survives
assassination classroom:.
is actually a very weirdly heartwarming story about a bunch of kids tasked to assassinate their teacher ( I swear it’s weirder than it sounds ( but it’s definitely not a book to be judged by its cover
Majin tentai nogami neuro: is a very interesting and in depth murder mystery anime about a demon who literally eats mysteries and enlists the help of a human girl to open up a detective agency. warning tho shit gets DARK near the end
petshop of horrors:
this is an ova series so it’s just a couple episodes but it’s a hauntingly creepy and fun look and an eccentric pet shop owner that offers his clients … dubious pets that would be fine if these guys would just follow the rules of ownership he gives them
xxxholic:
again kind of a mystery anime but with far more magic and I’m pretty positive it’s canon one of the male characters is unrequitely in love with the main guy, and the art style is definitely an aquired taste but it’s worth it
death parade:
THIS SHIT GAVE ME A CRISIS OF SELF AFTER FINISHING IT, DO NOT LET TYE HAPPY INTRO FOOL YOU IT’S OUT FOR YOUR BLOOD AND TEARS YOU WILL FUCK CRY
