is that your cat? what's it's name? so cute 💓
her name is ziti 🇮🇹 we just got her yesterday so she's adjusting and so is our dog. i was worried abt the dog even though he's lived with a cat his entire life bc he likes to hunt chipmunks and birds (and ziti is significantly smaller than our other cat meowgi was lol), but when they see each other through the glass doors of the sunroom she'll flop over and he'll scratch and whine like he does when he wants to see his dog friends in the yards next to ours. but she's having fun 🐱

*hears buzzing in the house somewhere*
Is that a wasp??? *closes my door to the hallway* As long as it's not in this room with me, I'm not gonna find out right now.
(The wasp invasion continues. They're the parasitic wasps so they're mostly just annoying and I found one already dying on the floor yesterday afternoon, so hopefully the rest are finally dying too. At any rate, they've been getting in either through the fireplace, attic, or both, and guess who has a large hole in the hallway ceiling to the attic now? *sigh* This year is getting off to an... interesting start. Lovely.)

I took care of my parents’ dog last weekend and since I don’t have a yard I was like “okay great, this will get me taking at least a short walk three times a day.”
I had to go more than that and it was fine, much easier than I imagined, I’m on the ground floor so no stair hassle. Then I realized I don’t know the area still, so I just let her pull me where the smells were.
There’s a lot of woods where I live so she wanted to just go along the tree line and I’m like “yeah okay, why not, looks like this is a path from high traffic”
And what keeps me walking after she went home is the fact that letting her lead ended up fulfilling like a fantasy I think everyone has had about finding a ~*mysterious trail*~ in the woods because there was just suddenly a break in the trees like literally one minute walk from my door.

Yeah basically I’m saying let a dog pull you around and you might find a weird trail in the woods you thought you walked on for 15 minutes but turns out it’s been months because the fairies took you.
life actually gets better when you leave the house consistently btw like im serious

Benefits of Installing a Fly Screen Sliding Door
As the warmer months approach, many homeowners are eager to open their doors and windows to let in the fresh breeze while keeping pesky insects out. One of the most practical solutions to this challenge is the installation of a fly screen sliding door. Offering a perfect balance between fresh air and protection, a fly screen sliding door is an essential addition to any home. If you're considering installing one, Werribee Blinds provides top-quality options that not only function beautifully but also add style to your home.
In this blog post, we will explore the numerous benefits of fly screen sliding doors and why Werribee Blinds is the ideal choice for your next home improvement project.
What is a Fly Screen Sliding Door?
Tumblr media
A fly screen sliding door is a door made of fine mesh material designed to block insects from entering your home while allowing airflow. The sliding mechanism makes it convenient for high-traffic areas such as patios, decks, and backyard entries. Unlike traditional hinged doors, sliding fly screen doors save space, making them a great option for areas with limited room. Fly screens come in various materials and designs, offering flexibility to suit different homes and personal preferences.
The Benefits of Installing a Fly Screen Sliding Door
1. Keeps Insects Out While Letting Fresh Air In
One of the primary reasons people install fly screen doors is to keep insects like flies, mosquitoes, and bugs out of the house, especially during the summer months. However, you don't have to sacrifice the fresh air. With a fly screen sliding door, you can enjoy the cool breeze, natural light, and outdoor scents without worrying about unwanted intruders.
2. Enhances Ventilation
Good ventilation is crucial for a healthy living environment. Fly screen sliding doors encourage airflow, which can help reduce the humidity inside your home, keep rooms cooler, and even improve air quality. By allowing more natural ventilation, you can also reduce your reliance on air conditioning, lowering energy bills during hot months.
3. Improves Security
Fly screen doors aren't just about keeping bugs out. Many modern options include lockable features that add an extra layer of security. This is especially important for homes with small children or pets. You can let in the breeze without having to worry about intruders, as these doors are built to withstand tampering. Werribee Blinds offers strong, durable materials to ensure your home remains secure.
4. Stylish and Modern Designs
Gone are the days of clunky, unattractive screen doors. Today's fly screen sliding doors come in various sleek designs that can match or enhance your home's aesthetic. With options for frames and mesh styles, you can choose a door that complements your interior or exterior design. Werribee Blinds provides customizable designs to suit any home, ensuring your door is not only functional but also stylish.
5. Space-Saving Solution
Fly screen sliding doors are ideal for smaller spaces or areas where a traditional hinged door might be cumbersome. Since they slide along a track, they don't take up additional floor space. This makes them perfect for patios or narrow hallways where space is limited. Whether you’re using them as a stand-alone door or as a secondary screen to a glass sliding door, the sliding mechanism is a seamless solution for maximizing space.
6. Energy Efficiency
By allowing fresh air to circulate, fly screen sliding doors help you cool your home naturally. This reduces the need to use electric fans or air conditioning. Over time, the energy savings add up, making your home more environmentally friendly and reducing your carbon footprint.
7. Durability and Easy Maintenance
Fly screen sliding doors are designed to withstand the elements. With sturdy mesh materials like aluminum or stainless steel, they can resist rust, corrosion, and wear and tear from exposure to the outdoors. They’re also easy to clean—simply wipe the screen or give it a quick vacuum to remove dust, dirt, or pollen. Werribee Blinds’ fly screen doors are built to last, offering excellent long-term value for homeowners.
