2022 Euros entry #2
Men free program
Is it me, or does Arlet look really tiny in the warmup group?
Tomas Sabate(ESP)
Thoughts: he had to fight for this one
Kornel Witkowski(POL)
Thoughts: hey, mr condescending ass commentator. This junior to senior shit is hard. Don’t say he looks exhausted! I love the lighting in the K&C. Look at his pretty eyes.
Burak Demirboga(TUR)
Thoughts: once in a while he can pull a good program out of his hat. Today though, a lot of tough landings.
Davide Brain(MON)
Thoughts: almost lost control of his spin at the end, yikes
Valtter Virtanen(FIN)
Thoughts: his experience speaks volumes. His speed. The gorgeous fingers. No amount of quads can measure up to that kind of stuff.
Slavik Hayrapetyan
Thoughts: he wasn’t the only one that tried to do this sort of womanizer persona. Valtter did it better though.
Konstantin Milyukov(BLR)
Thoughts: there are too many colors going on in this shirt

Who are your favorite low scoring skaters?
You know, the ones who skate in the first or second group and don't necessarily make the free skate, or maybe they don't make the A list competitions in the first place, but you still love them and watch them and root for them.
Put your faves in the tags and add them to the list if they're not there:
Donovan Carrillo
Slavik Hayrapetyan
Ivett Tóth
Diana Nikitina

Standings after group 4 of 7 of the European Championships. The top 6 are unchanged after the third group, and the top 7 have all qualified for the free skate.
Peter Liebers has withdrawn due to injury.

Figure Skating Worlds Men’s Short
Disclaimer: I am watching on NBCsports Gold live stream, no commentary.
My knowledge of skating is limited to two years of learning the sport (not enough time to really know what’s good/not).
I love costumes and music (I have a degree in music that I never use.. so I can get kind of biased about certain music things).
I am American, but except for Jason Brown, I really don’t have that strong of a bias towards my country.. it is there a little bit though.
Group 1:
Paul Fentz (GER): music: Blue Skies by Sam Harris
Ok, I get to start this with OPINIONS: First, the “costume” I am firmly in the belief if you can go to the store and no one would give you strange looks then what you are wearing isn’t good enough for a costume..
I liked Paul’s programs last year, but crooner music is just so bleh.  This program is just so underwhelming... it was fine.
(Side note: the graphics in the replay are amazing!)
Score: 63.24
Aleksandr Selevko (EST) music: I step out for  awhile by Patrick Watson
Costume: Silky blue jacket, black pant and shirt
popped jump. :(
liked the arm movement during his spin...
Also underwhelming music... I feel like he’s one of those kids trying so hard to be a “cool kid” with the floppy hair and unbuttoned jacket.. lol.
Score: 63.25
Valtter Virtanen (FIN)
music: Milonga de mis amores by Pedro Laurenz
costume: Spectacular... it’s this half suit thing. He would get strange looks. Love it. (I was really expecting Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde program..)
It was obvious he was trying to tell a story.. I liked the step sequence a lot.
Score: 55.73
Julian Zhi Jie Yee (MAS)
music: To Build A Home by Patrick Watson
costume: grey pants, white shirt with blue on the bottom.. I’m on the fence on this costume.. because it makes sense for the song.. but it’s still boring.. lol.
SOooo pretty.
Score: 73.63
Slavik Hayrapetyan (ARM)
music: Caruso by Andrea Bocelli
Costume: Pirate shirt with sequins and black pants, with black belt with sequins. Love it.
Fall. :(
He definitely put his all into that program.. shame about the fall.  It was very pretty.
Score:60.66

Nebelhorn Trophy Men Short Program #22, #23
Slavik Hayrapetyan(ARM)
Thoughts: sorry hon, not even the number gave me a reaction. My radar can be picky like that.
Burak Demirboga(TUR)
Thoughts: he’s lost weight. It looks good on him.
Nebelhorn Trophy Free Program #19, #21
Slavik Hayrapetyan(ARM)
Thoughts: I was expecting him to move up more. I did like the music better here though.
Burak Demirboga(TUR)
Thoughts: this outfit was better than the deep V he tried to pull off in the short.
Maryland VS Central Michigan and Ohio State
Tiara Wright Maryland Bars: there may have been a slight step backwards on that dismount

KOCKELSCHEUER, LUXEMBOURG – Shoma Uno posted the world’s second-highest ever score to take the lead after the short program at the Coupe du Printemps on Friday.
Uno nailed a quadruple flip, a quad toe loop/triple toe loop combination and a triple axel en route to collecting 104.31 points.
Compatriot Takahito Mura is a distant second with 78.68 and Slavik Hayrapetyan of Armenia was third with 54.63.
“I am happy that I could perform well in a short program that I have been struggling with every year,” said Uno, who had nine points or more in four out of five segments in his program.
“I didn’t just somehow come through it, I skated cleanly without any mistakes for the first time this season. The scores were just what I was expecting.”
Uno received level-fours on his spins and step sequence in his skate to “Fantasy for Violin and Orchestra” at the event which features only five judges instead of the usual nine.
Uno’s score was second behind the world record held by Olympic champion Yuzuru Hanyu, who tallied 110.95 points at the 2015 Grand Prix Final.
The men’s free skate will be held on Sunday.
