erm ramblings below
the start of slabstuck takes place in late season 1 of etho’s lp, etho is living in the real world on chocolate island and playing an early build of SBURBcraft, which naturally heavily resembles minecraft. he essentially uses SBURBcraft as a creative test world to plan his real-world living situation.
the upcoming update promises to turn SBURBcraft into the SBURB everyone knows and loves. etho is ready for the big change, but a certain general spaz isn’t. spaz serves as etho’s first guardian, and the two have a strained relationship (mostly on spaz’s side — etho doesn’t mind spaz). spaz is EXTREMELY reluctant to let etho enter the updated SBURBcraft. this is because etho, as a solo player, will end up creating a dead session — and spaz’s sole goal is to make sure etho creates a functional session that is able to create a new universe.
naturally, etho eventually succeeds in creating his dead session, leading us into season 2 of his lp where he can create more involved and immersive machines with the help of the skaianet technology (now functioning more like present-day redstone).
i think SBURBcraft’s dead session will be less demanding than base SBURB’s. it’s not going to be the ultra difficult punishment it is in homestuck. like a normal session, all necessary entry items will be present and the sprite will behave like normal (not a black hole…). however, like a dead session, skaia will be dull, the derse and prospit royalty will be less active, there will be no naturally occurring denizens, and no chance to create a new universe. just like in his lp, etho’s goals are defined by himself and there is no immediate pressure being put on him.
i’m considering saying derse and prospit have already been destroyed, and etho simply goes to dream bubbles when he sleeps. this could explain the bizarre dreams he has in canon lp, maybe his other series too…? who knows. haha
unfortunately no ectobiology or scratches in this au… unless etho creates a season 3 anytime soon. which i doubt.
etho prototyped his sprite with a spare computer, which is functionally his youtube community, providing him with new ideas and information.
i’m still really unsure as to what i want his classpect to be, i do like knight of light for him but void as an aspect fits really well for him.
i lean towards knight of light because a knight utilizes the full extent of their aspect that is provided to them. in this case, light represents literal light, luck, and knowledge. i think etho’s resourcefulness fits really well with the whole ‘using the full extent of what he is provided’ especially when you consider the term redstone ‘logic’ — which is also tied to the light aspect :)
however, an argument can easily be made for void classes as well. void ties into literal darkness as well as secrets and the unknown. etho as we know him is so shrouded in secrecy that it seems like a no brainer huh? i just… haven’t quite found a class i like for him yet u_u
