Okay, I'll probaly make a whole write up later. But for now, some info on Haarri and Harrin.

-They are twins. Haarri is the brother, Harrin is the sister.

-Which means they are both dragonborn.

-Nords, and their story starts when they are 18 (Haarri joins the empire in the war,) but the main questline doesn't start till he's 22. (Harrin does not join in the main questline. She let's her brother have the glory.)

-Haarri adopts both Khash and Rufus (Who I later have them as adults doing a few questlines. Khash does Forsworn Conspiracy and Dawnguard, and Rufus does college of winterhold and companions.)

-Haarri is a more knightly, two handed character. And Harrin is a light armor, gunsmith.

-Haarri is much more cliche hero, being kind, loves helping others, great leader, and inspiring, than his sister. Harrin is much more cold and distant. She likes to be alone with her work. She's the definition of resting bitch face.

- Harrin has also 100% done the Han Solo 'shoot an enemy behind them without looking' thing.

-Haarri is a follower of Stendarr and Harrin doesn't follow anything.

-Harrin also specializes in conjuration.

-Haarri marries Mjoll, and Harrin doesn't marry, but does become platonic life partners with Nebarra. They have a huge 'hate you but not really' friendship, and fight like an old married couple on the daily.

-Over time in legends and stories, Haarri and Harrin start to get mistaken as a single individual because of their basic description: The dragonborn Nord with dark skin, and sliver paint, hair, and eyes.

Rufus as the Dragonborn Headcanons

Yes, this Rufus.

In my HC, Rufus is the son of Ulfric Stormcloak for max angst and max comedy. And some irony.

Rufus joined the war because he was mad that nobody took the jarl's lazy kid seriously. He soon realized WHY nobody took him seriously after their first skirmish. He's now only allowed to use a wooden training sword.

Back in Helgen, General Tulius didn't want to execute a kid, but by golly he was beginning to contemplate it the more this kid kept yapping about kicking his ass.

His doll is a replica of his mother, who he hasn't seen since infancy.

During the dragon attack, he gets separated from his father, wandering around the towns and wilderness, getting into trouble with a gang of beautiful witches.

Ulfric is too busy with the war, so it ends up being Rufus's estranged mother who tracks him down and rescues him.

He manages to warn Jarl Balgruuf about the dragons, when he cares to remember. Balgruuf ends up not being fond of Rufus for immediately picking fights with his own kids.

Rufus follows the guards to the west tower to watch them fight the dragon--he immediately realizes he's over his head. Miraculously, they manage to slay the beast and a relieved Rufus decides to take a piss in a bush now that the coast is clear. That's the moment he absorbs his first dragon soul. The young dragonborn is first discovered wailing with his trousers around his ankles.

The 7000 steps are just an absolute treat for Rufus's companions to listen to him, I'll tell you hwat.

Rufus gets so enthusiastic with Unrelenting Force that the Greybeards have to beat his ass after getting thrown against the wall one too many times.

Rufus has never been to our world to experience the taste of Flaming Hot Limon Doritos, but that's exactly what dragon souls taste like. He's so addicted to the flavor that he contemplates killing Paarthunax when the Blades give that "order." Don't worry, his companions talk him out of it.

Alduin tastes more like stale spicy Cheetos.

He's not an advanced mage by any means. But he can shoot quite the flame spell. And he's a pyromaniac.

He fails so badly at stealing Madesi's ring that he manages to get Brynjolf arrested.

He's only half nord, but he likes to try running around shirtless in 0 degree weather and pretend it doesn't bother him. Much to the ire of his mother every time he gets sick from it.

He does not hesitate for a single second when a pretty vampire girl offers to turn him so he can journey into the soul cairn with her. His mother is furious when she finds out.

Rufus may engage in teabagging Miraak's corpse at the end of Dragonborn like it's a Halo match.

Oh, here's a dynamic: Khash and Rufus the Immersive Fat Idiot Son. If you haven't played him, there's not much to him, you get what's on the tin. Constantly begging for sweetrolls, taking your money, charging into fights with his toy sword and getting immediately yeeted, oogling the forsworn women, never doing what you ask. Pretty much a meme follower.

I wonder how he and Khash would get along or, more likely, not get along. Would she be a good big sister to him, or would he be the reason she wakes up one morning and chooses bullying?

SWEET BABY KHASH??? She'd be a fantastic older sister. Very kind and far more patient than others have been towards Rufus.

Whether he annoys her or not, she definitely tries her best to be friendly. If he's acting misogynistic and disrespecting the ldb then she might throw hands but bullying definitely isn't the word I'd use.

Following up on Kaidan being a dad, I wonder how he would be as a step-dad, especially to a kid like Rufus the immersive fat idiot son (10/10 mod name btw). Kaidan is so sweet to Khash because she is easy to love of course. But would he have it in him to lay the smackdown on a wayward little brat who sexually harasses his Forsworn captors? I do wonder how Kaidan would be when it comes to laying down the law with kids.

OKAY, I JUST SPENT THE LAST FIFTEEN MINUTES RESEARCHING BECAUSE THAT FIRST SENTENCE HIT ME LIKE A TON OF BRICKS. I am literally crying. I cannot believe I've never heard of that mod. I will be downloading him immediately, thank you.

To answer your question, as a stepdad in general, Kaidan would care for the kids just as much as he would his own, adopted, or otherwise. He loves his spouse, and that means every part of them. I think with a kid like Rufus, he wouldn't exactly be sure what to do at first. Kaidan can get exasperated easily, and he'd have some trouble bonding with him. However, I think once he got adjusted, he'd love him. The kid's a little... eccentric, but he's his stepson now. Kaidan would definitely be worried about him all the time, trying to keep him out of trouble, protecting him, trying to teach him how to survive, and it would be challenging, but that's what being a parent is about.

I think when his kids act up, Kaidan would be big on lectures. Lectures that would last for hours. Now, if Kaidan's child started acting horrendously? Going as far as to sexually harass someone? He would be so fucking angry. He did not raise his child to behave like that. He'd force them on a hunting trip into the mountains and not talk to them for the whole hike. Then after they'd silently put up the tents, he would just rip into them. He'd probably yell for hours about how ashamed and disgusted he was. I don't even know how he would begin to punish them if the kid was younger and still living at home. I'd imagine there'd be a lot of lectures and manual labor involved. If their child had already moved out, and Kaidan and the ldb were a bit older, I genuinely believe Kai would have a heart attack. Whether that be when he learns the news or from yelling at the campsite, I just don't think he'd be able to take it. He'd survive it, and maybe it would knock some sense into the kid's head. If that doesn't do it, I don't think anything would, but I guarantee that he'd never stop trying to get through to the kid, even if he was disappointed and heartbroken over their actions.
