ok for my piping hot take of the evening: the Borderlands movie is....not as bad as everyone seems to think it is
like its not good, and i'm not going to defend the, quite frankly, baffling choices made in the casting and story
but i think some of ya'll need to watch more bad movies or something, cause this was like, 4/10 for me. not good by any stretch, but not the worst video game adaptation ever or whatever
Sanctuary looked cool! the guy who played Marcus was good!! (he shouldve narrated the opening but whatever) i liked Tina and Krieg being friends!
overall the movie was not boring like i feared, but it was generic and a bit stale. the villain was just an asshole, and not even a fun asshole. Knoxx was such a nothing character. Tina's new backstory was....strange, as was Lilith's
also the setting for the final battle was just some generic canyon??
first game was at the top of a mountain, with a significant change in scenery. second was in a freaking volcano. pre sequel was inside a beautiful alien structure...on the moon
and finally

1966... Gemini VIII splashdown & post recovery March 17, 1966, Gemini VIII astronauts Neil Armstrong and David Scott pose with the divers of the US Navy recovery team. The Gemini VIII mission was cut short after a docking problem with the unmanned Agena target rocket. Re-entry took place over China with splashdown 800 kilometers east of Okinawa. Photo taken just before debarking USS Leonard F Mason in Naha harbor in Southern Japan. Note Scott’s NASA-issued Omega Speedmaster on black velcro at his left wrist. During this mission, besides his NASA-issued Omega Speedmaster, Neil Armstrong also wore a Longines Lindberg big crown aviator watch which belonged to his childhood hero James "Jimmie" Mattern. However, in the foreground, the Navy issued Tudor 7928 diving toolwatch on stainless steel bracelet at the wrist of the diver looks far more interesting! (Photo: NASA)

If I can't get people to ask about my WIPs (/lh lmao), I'll post about them anyway because I cannot keep this to myself anymore.
I started writing something about Jay having amnesia like 2 months ago- AKA before we had much info about what he's been up to- because my brain was like "hey what if Nadakahn was the reason for his memory loss and made him do fucked up shit becasue he remembers Skybound and really likes watching Jay suffer?" and then it went "Hey what would happen if he started to remember some stuff while still captive?" And that's where I've been for the past few months.
Anyway here's a snippet of him remembering something in a dream.

Often they trolled themselves as bait for the NVA troops to try to shoot down. When a friendly unit made contact, having a FAC overhead made their day, because the FACs controlled the bomb-, rocket-, and napalm-laden fast movers, fighter jets, and attack aircraft whose ordnance often made the difference between life and death. They were regarded by many of their air force and naval aviator brethren as insane, suicidal, or both. In addition to the perils of enemy fire which ranged from lucky AK-47 shots to .51 caliber machine guns and SA-7 shoulder-fired surface-to-air missiles, they had to watch out to keep from being blown up in a B-52 Arc-Light strike or knocked down by friendly artillery.
Review: Meh
