New Version of „Arwen of Rivendell“ ♡

It was so amazing to make this. I like the process of getting to know the mediums. When I started I didn‘t really know how to paint the rivendell part, but when it came to that I just went for it and it kind of worked out. Physical mediums are so fun to work with. And I find myself embracing the imperfections ♡

And it always comes out a little differently than you think because the colours, the brush strokes thar can‘t be redone, the color blends and bleeds and the pencil strokes always have a little bit of an unexpected uniqueness to them. Love it, it makes a picture look more alive imo. Much more than a digital brush of calculated pixels where, if it‘s not *perfect* you can tap and redo it within seconds.

✨ sewing project of the weekend

i bought the pattern on etsy and the fabric in my local fabric shop. unfortunately they didn‘t have them in black so i sewed the piece and then dyed it. The bodice part ended up charcoal and the whole dress looks charcoal in the photos but it‘s a bit darker irl.

the main fabric is a nice linen and cotton blend, really soft and i think it‘s gonna be cozy for the autumn and winter.

i really like how it turned out 🍂🪨✨

241013 • Frauki („The Frog“)

I‘m in a bit of a hyperfixation relating to Norse/Viking artworks. I recently bought a book about the topic and I can‘t stop looking at it. The animals typically depicted are dragons, wolves, horses and similar, but I‘m currently trying to design some other animals that I think would be cool in this style.

These are four versions Frauki, The Frog. Or actually two different designs and one comes in three versions.

White on Green is a different design, but only slightly. The hips, chest and the feet are a bit different.

The other three are the same design, only different outline/colour combinations.

Tbh I‘m such a fan.. I hope the hyperfixation doesn‘t fade too quickly, because I wanna try insects and more complex designs.

I do already have one more, it‘s a bit more complex but it‘s frogs again. I love frogs and toads, that‘s why :D

it seems i‘ve entered another art slump! i‘m being kind to myself about it (i used to feel like a talent- and energyless failure when that happened in the past, also I have adhd) and i notice that instead i read books and sew clothes and stuff like that. always creating, always doing stuff ♡ ♡

so instead, please enjoy a piece i drew last year.

arwen undomiel and rivendell. i‘d love to draw a similar piece for Eowyn this year, but maybe a bit different as well. we‘ll see.

🪶 painting over a stain that i couldn‘t wash out of my shoe. we‘ve got a swallow‘s nest above our living room window and i always see them soaring through the sky. absolutely love that view and it inspired me to fix my shoe with a blob of paint.

recent digital drawing that i did. i‘ve had the idea for a long time and actually started with rowena. it‘s been sitting in my sketches for months until i rediscovered it and thought it would actually make for a really cute little portrait series. i‘m going to post the other founders soon as well. when i reopen my etsy shop i think i will offer these as prints or post cards.

🍂 🫖 🐸 • Over The Garden Wall

I suppose I‘m really in a drawing-hyperfixation again. Wich means that atm I‘ll be unable to read books, unfortunately..

But it was time for my annual OTGW rewatch and I just straight up watched it twice today. And it was another excuse to draw a frog (i love frogs. and toads)

I‘m collecting ideas for my art shop reopening that‘s planned for January 2025. Researching printers etc, and trying to find out how to run a small business with adhd lol because last time I quit because the adhd was standing in my way - but I didn‘t yet know that it was adhd. So now that I know I hope I‘ll find ways to work with it ♡

🌞 Moth Girls 2

Last year I drew a girl with a moth mask and yesterday I felt like drawing so i drew her a sister. moths and girls inspire me so I could imagine adding a couple more girls to this sisterhood.

Today I saw real nordic rune stones that are more than 1000 years old at Jelling in Denmark. And I bought a book about Viking art which inspired me. And I saw a little white cat with two different eye colours, so this is for her ♡
