What do you do when you feel fine when you’re around people but the moment you’re alone, you’re really sad because of the intrusive thoughts because you’ve been trying really hard to work on yourself but it’s never seemed to work over the years that you’ve been alive and you know that you’re going to be like this forever and there’s nothing you can do about it, no matter how hard you try to NOT be impulsive and energetic for people because you’re afraid of pushing people away and being to much for people because I’m too energetic?

What is the point of living if ya can't be your true self?

Your impulsivity & your pulsating energy is nothing ya should get rid of (of course this excludes negative impulsivity; ya know, if it has bad consequences for ya).

Your feelings are understandable tho cuz society wants everyone to be the same.

If people don't wanna be with ya, then that's a them problem! Cuz, ya know, being yourself isn't a crime. (unless ya hurt someone & ya love to do evil stuff, then MAYBE it IS a crime)

Of course, not everyone will like you. That's a hard truth. But that's ok, cuz...

But it's not easy to get into this mindset, so yeah. It takes a lot of work.

An' my last point: intrusive thoughts are not the truth.

They mock ya & they feel so freakin' overwhelming & they can sound so very convincin', but they aren't true.

I've been listening to a lot of tmbg's "the spine" and its little sibling EP "the spine surfs alone" lately, which recently turned 20/is about to. I didn't know about them back then, but I was vaguely introduced to the band for the first time about a year later through their hsr collaborations, and it gives their music releases from that period an odd sense of nostalgia.

thinking about that, coupled with making this post about what type of character that track brings to mind for me, got me wanting to make something Super self-indulgent. the kind of thing I would've wanted to draw in 2004 if I'd only had the ability to.
