I’m in Skott’s music video.

Well technically, my picture is.

This all started way back in July when one of my favorite artists, Skott, was asking her fans for their childhood/yearbook photos for her upcoming single “Bloodhound”. Basically, the chosen photos will appear on the music video. I’m a huge fan of Skott’s music (Katy Perry follows her), and I’ve talked about her before in a previous blog post of mine, she’s such an authentic artist who needs more recognition for her work although she already has it. She recently started her own record label called “Dollar Tree”. 

So yeah, I took chance and DM’ed her my photo when I was 15 years old, thinking “Who am I kidding? She’s probably not gonna notice me and I’m being dreamy eyed again.” Here’s the photo I sent btw:

And you know what happened next...SHE REPLIED TO MY DM AND SAID THAT SHE AND HER TEAM WOULD LOVE TO USE MY PHOTO FOR THE MUSIC VIDEO. I literally squealed like five year old that my mom told me to calm down and act my age. How can I when one of my favorite people literally acknowledged my existence and I get to be a part of THEIR ART??!! Skott’s music helped me a lot whenever I get writer’s block from writing my book. She just takes me into another place where I could function and be creative. At this point, I was already leaping with excitement! 

 I can't show you our DM conversation out of respect for her privacy and I want it to be an intimate memory I could keep to my self. She was so nice, sweet, and everything I thought her to be as a person. 

Today, she released the amazing music video for Bloodhound and you guys have to check it out now! It has this Stranger Things/Twins Peaks feel to it. WITH ADORABLE DOGS. What a cool person she is to include us fans in her music!

I want to thank Skott for allowing us to take part in Bloodhound. It’s such a special and one of a kind experience that I’ll treasure forever! We love you and keep making music, angel! xx
