Okay now that we've all seen the LN3 trailer, I'm saying this RIGHT NOW b4 any shit starts
We are not going to whitewash this kid. We are not gonna let ppl have a pass when they do.
No lightening their skin tone
No giving them straight hair
Give them black facial features when u draw them w/o the mask
No adultifying, this is a child
If ppl whine and cry bc they "can't draw them correctly"?
We will tell these ppl to grow the tf up and learn to draw
This is literally the first black character in Little Nightmares as far as ik, don't be fucking stupid guys

Changes: a Poll-Fic
Ch. 4 Remove the Blindfold and Muzzle
Ch. 1 Ch. 2 Ch. 3
(Cheeky link to Ch. 5->) Ch. 5
CW: Graphic Depictions of Gore, Body Horror, Bug Stuff
The only thing worse than being captured and restrained, was being muzzled like an animal. Dehumanized. "Ghost." He called, announcing to the other man that yes, he was here. His Johnny was here. Ghost, and only Ghost, could call him that.
Ghost sighed in relief, his chains jingled as his shoulders and body slumped. "Johnny."
The giggling had not stopped.
While normally Soap wouldn't be able to see his face due to the mask, he desperately wished he could see his facial features in that moment. The way his face would soften, the thin stubble that wouldn't grow over his scars, his crooked and jagged teeth peaking out when he smiled. "Gaz, be advised: I found Ghost." Soap had begun approaching the other man.
"He broken?" The only thing broken it seemed was Gaz's voice coming through comms. Reception was shite however many kilometers he was under the surface.
"He's still standing." Soap had reached his Lieutenant at last. Through the green haze of the NVG's he made out darker stains all over the man. He wasn't dumb, he knew dried blood when he saw it. It was caked in his hair, dripped out from the slits in the muzzle and underneath it, down his neck. His neck was a sight. "Creepin' bloody Jesus..." Soap brought a hand to the man's neck, where a flat metal band was so tight it was embedded in the skin. Soap couldn't tell what they were made of, but spikes of some kind jutted out of Ghost's neck above and below the collar- because what else could soap call it- and wrapped over it, digging into the flesh on the opposite end from which they protruded. The flesh was angry and warm even through his glove, and when he touched one of the spikes it felt like a hardened shell or coating of some kind, plastic or-
It moved. Several of the others moved in response, like a wave. It reminded Soap of the centipede. Way too fucking much like the centipede.
Ahahahahahahuhhhhh...hhhmmmmmmm...
The laughing had tapered into a pleased hum. Soap's stomach seized. His head throbbed. A part of him deep down screamed to back away. Whatever that was was unnatural. He withdrew his hand from Ghost's neck. The humming stopped.
"Johnny?" Ghost tilted his head. He sounded worried.
"Sorry, Sir. My heid's mince. Been worried about you, havenae slept much." He closed back in and pushed the blindfold out of the way. Crusted blood flaked and crunched, and made it difficult to tug off. He knew to expect the worst, but to see that Ghost had had both of his eyes removed nearly caused him to void his stomachs contents all over the both of them. Dried blood trailed down from both sockets, down behind the muzzle.
"Can't wait to get back to base, sleep in my own bloody bed." Ghost said calmly, as if he didn't have a horrifying career-ending disfigurement.
As Soap tried to force his tongue to form some sort of reply, a quip or snide remark, anything to lighten the mood or keep himself from barfing, he noticed the centipede climbing over Ghost's muzzle.
"Oh ye fecker-" Soap was about to swat the damn thing off of Ghost when he was interrupted.
"Took you long enough." Ghost huffed. The centipede reared back, holding on with only its posterior end, and regarded the man whom it was perched upon. It seemed to look from one socket to the other, debating perhaps? "Like what you see?" Ghost asked it, and the laughing picked up in full force, reverberating off the walls. The abomination seemed to come to a decision, as it nodded, and then continued its ascent up Ghost's face. It crawled up into his hair, then began crawling in reverse. It burrowed its way underneath Ghost's loose right eyelid, pincers first. Soap watched. It was all he could do to stop himself from retching as the centipede curled around inside the socket. Once it found where it evidently wanted to be, it buried itself into the walls of the cavity with a wet squelching. Rivulets of blood, macabre tears, fell from the corners of his eye as it settled. Then Ghost blinked. The eye flitted about the room, before landing on Soap. His cheek raised, his eye squinted. Ghost was smiling. The only indication of what he'd just witnessed was a single leg from the centipede that had been left protruding out from the far corner of the socket, nestled amongst Ghost's crows feet.
Only one thought found it's way to the forefront of Soap's mind. He shouldn't be able to see me. For a split second, with the giggling wrapping around him like a blanket made of wriggling centipedes, Soap felt inclined to turn his gun on the man he'd just come to save.
"Johnny?"
"Johnny?"
Soap shook himself. How dare he even entertain the thought of the man he so loved revered. Whatever they'd done to Simon, whatever he'd just witnessed, didn't matter. Rescuing Ghost was his one and only goal here. Whatever the bio weapon was, Soap was sure it was the cause of what he'd just witnessed.
He cleared his throat. "Sorry, sir. Told you, not feeling great." He forced an apologetic smile, feeling that despite the darkness and the fabric covering his face, Ghost would see it.
"Let's get you out of here, Sergeant." As if you're not the one in chains. Soap's resolve returned to him, and he reached back behind Ghost's head to unbuckle the muzzle. As he fiddled with it, however, he heard footsteps. Many footsteps.
"Soap, hide." Ghost ordered. But where? Soap finally took in the room around them, something he should have done upon entering. Jars and canisters were set upon open frame metal shelves. Saws, pliers, scalpels, and many other tools sat on a tray next to Ghost. The rest of the room was bare. He kicked himself for opting to remove the blindfold instead of the chains, at least if Ghost were free he'd have had extra hands to help fight.
A glow grew and shrank, then grew some more in the hallway. Someone was approaching with a flickering light. A flame lamp, or a torch of some sort. Soap tried to focus on the footsteps, determine how many men were out there, but the echo made it impossible to know. His only option was to hide behind the door he'd broken down, and hope he could overtake them. He knew he didn't have the element of surprise, they would have seen the picked locks and known that someone was down here. The outlook was bleak, but when was it not, in the 141? The odds were never in his favor, no need for things to be different now.
Shh shh... hmmmheeheh... shhhhh.....
A man entered the room and immediately swung his gun around the crooked door, aiming it at Soap. Instead of reaching for his own Gun, Soap forced himself against the door. The abused hinges gave, and he slammed the guy between the door and the wall. It had the desired affect of disorienting the others. He could see three other men in the hallway. He couldn't have them shooting into the room, it risked injuring Ghost, so he dove towards the group in the hopes that they'd engage in hand to avoid the risk of accidental friendly fire.
He was correct. All his assailants dropped their guns and reached for various other weapons, two grabbed knives, one, a tazer, and the fourth, the poor bastard who'd been pancaked against the wall, opted for his fists. Soap pulled his own knife once more, and set about taking out the enemy before him. He wasn't some rookie, Soap was an expert combatant, and could hold his own against multiple enemies. He still had his NVG's down, however, and the light from the flame lamp was bright, fucking up his ability to see. Pancake guy got a quick jab to his throat, he'd bleed out quickly and painfully. Shouldn't have brought fists to a knife fight.
One of the knife wielding assailants clearly didn't know what he was doing, as he swung the knife in a wide arch towards Soap. Soap grabbed the man by his arm and sent him careening into the other knife holder.
Tazer guy took the chance and slammed the tazer into Soap's side. It wasn't perfect contact, but it was enough to momentarily stun him. The knife wielders closed back in, one bearing down as the other swept his feet out from under him. Soap went down, brought his hands up to defend himself, but the lamp was so bright, he couldn't see quite what was happening. He managed to deflect the man to the side, but didn't get his hand out of the way. For a moment he felt pressure on his pinky and ring finger on his right hand, just above the first knuckles, but then just as quickly he felt nothing at all. Nothing but warmth.
He threw the man off of himself, tossed his own knife into his left hand, and sank it into the man he'd just thrown. Three quick jabs to the throat. Overkill, just for good measure. And revenge.
Soap scrambled back up, tazer guy and knife guy were bearing down on him again, and he found that he was back in the room with Ghost. They attempted a pincer maneuver, coming at him from both sides, so Soap lunged towards the man with the tazer, taking the hit to his armor plated chest where he wouldn't feel it, and tried to get his blade in the man's neck as well. The man feinted back and tripped, falling towards Ghost. Ghost seemed all too happy to join in, restrained or not.
AHAHHAHA HHHAAAHAHAHAH!
The laughing was outright deafening, and Ghost had joined in as he rested all of his body weight on the chains restraining him. He brought his legs up and wrapped them around the fallen man, who'd dropped his tazer. "Hahahahaaaa!"
HAHAHAHH AAHHAH AHAH HAHA!
This gave Soap the opportunity to take on the remaining man with a knife, stabbing his own into the man's arm, dragging him forward and dispatching him much as he had the rest.
He stood, turned towards Ghost to dispatch the fourth, and watched the fight bleed out of the man as Ghost used his thighs to choke the man to death. He scrabbled against the thick muscles enveloping his throat in vain. As he slumped, and Ghost let him go, Soap knelt down and forced his knife through the man's quickly bruising skin for good measure. A manic thought flitted through his mind, I wouldn't mind to die like that, Simon. Luckily he managed to keep that thought internal.
Ahah... heh... hhmmmhhmhmhmmm heh...
Soap brought up his right hand, and saw he had in fact just lost two fingers. He glanced around but didn't see them. The stumps throbbed and blood spurted out from them.

i want to send a pic of my beat so bad but honestly speaking im a wimp who will NAWT be doing a face reveal BUT i will say i do get compliments on my makeup semi often and esp on my base!!!! 🙈💋
now i will warn u i am NOT a clean girl makeup girly or very natural beat at all so just letting u know i use A LOT more than most ppl i would assume use
ok lets gooo:
skincare prep: use facial cleanser (cerave hydrating or the ordinary hydrating cleanser) to wash face w either lukewarm or cold tapwater. let face air dry or use clean facial towel (i just use a mini towel) to dry face by patting the skin gently a few times max. use toner (some by mi aha bha pha toner) by patting it on face. give 30 secsish to dry. now put on moisturizer (laniege water face mask or cerave hydrating moisturizer or the face shop rice ceramide moisturizer). put on sunscreen (olay 30spf moisturizer sunscreen).
then use primer (elf hydro grip pink or blue works)
onto base: use foundation/cc cream/tinted serum depending on ur preference (f: clio kill cover mesh. cc cream: elf camo. tinted serum: loreal true match). i blend using a damp beauty blender. then i (excessively) use atleast 2-3 concealers of different shades. starting w the darkest to even out my skin tone (the body shop), medium to give more coverage (loreal instant age rewind eraser), and lightest to lighten my undereyes and other areas i like to be highlighted (peripera double longwear cover or focallure liquid concealer both from YesStyle). blend all three after each one w a beauty blender. i then use a setting spray to keep my base in place (i use the milani make it last but i do NOT recc it 🙁).
blush: yet again i am excessive w this 😜 i like looking like my crush just winked at me and i cannot handle the attention 24/7. i start w a matte blush/tint (nyx powder puff lippie or peripera ink airy velvet) then blend w my fingers. after i use a glowy blush (elf halo glow) and blend w my fingers again. lastly i "set" w a powder blush (etude cookie blush).
eyes: during my base routine i add all components from foundation to concealer on my eyes, so i blend out any excess using my fingers and even it out. i then use a white or nude eyeshadow to lighten my entire eye from the undereye to below my eyebrow bone (mac discontinued hello kitty palette or colorpop baby got peach palette...slightly pinky nude or full on white is my vibe). i go in p hard in the underye bc i like my undereye looking like ive slept 99 hours in the past wk alone. then i use any eyeshadow i want to create any kind of look, usually to match my outfit or the days vibe. i like colorpop, too faced, mac, jaclyn hill, and juvias place palettes the most. after the eyeshadow is complete i go in w a setting powder (juvias place) w a heavy hand. i also go in w powder under blush area (below cheekbone), upper lip, chin, and forhead. i let that sit all the way until im done w my lips. after placing powder w powder puff, i do eyeliner w eyeshadow of any previously mentioned palettes. i then curl my lashes, put on mascara (hourglass caution extreme lash or telescopic blue tube), and curl again. i then clean up any mascara w more eyeshadow or concealer then eyeshadow if its p bad. i then place highlighter (colorpop shock) under my brow bone.
highlighter: i use the colorpop highlighter on my nose and cupids bow. then i use a bright pink highlighter (stick w me lol ik it sounds weird) (zeesea purple 9 color eyeshadow palette) on my cheekbone and nose.
lips: three steps: liner, tint, gloss. lip liner from elf to line my exact lip shape (sometimes i round out my cupids bow if its a cutesy look). lip tint from peripera to color my lips and keep the color on for a long time or elf o satin face lip stick to do the same thing. blend out w fingers after smacking lips together. then top w gloss/lip oil (nyx butter gloss, nyx fat lip oil, ecosoul lip oil, kopari gloss, maybelline lifter gloss, hello kitty lip smacker gloss).
blend out all powder on face and set w shitty milani setting spray
WHEW MY HANDS HURTTTT
but tbh i do sm bc i love makeup and have sm fun w it. tho w using this much ik im lucky to not have acne prone skin or skin that treats makeup like a parasite. i often take 2-4 day breaks when i have days off school and or weekends which helps. not to mention i use toner pads (numbuzin no.5) once to twice a wk and use a face mask (from any brand that use food ingredients as a main ingredient) weekly.
hope this helps!!!!! 👯♀️👯♀️💋
LORDY LORDY THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS 🛐

“For centuries people have been trying to take care of their skin, making use of many different products, recipes and practices. A new study focusing on the works of the famous medieval doctor Trotula de Ruggiero reveals a skincare routine that is an “extraordinary combination of tradition and modernity.”
The study, led by a team from the University of Salerno, examines two works by Trotula de Ruggiero, also known as Trota of Salerno, who was part of the Medical School of Salerno around the beginning of the 12th century. Trotula’s works have long been considered to be key texts for understanding women’s medicine in the Middle Ages. But they also tell much about cosmetic remedies, including skin treatments, hair dyes, teeth whitening, eye and lip makeup, and body care procedures.
The researchers first note that Trotula’s work detailed the use of many traditional medicines. While many historians have been skeptical that these items could be effective, newer research in pharmacology has revealed their positive health effects. This is also true for medicines involved in skin and beauty care.
Over 40 different herbs, minerals, and animal derivatives are mentioned in Trotula’s work and also are used in modern skincare products. For example, fava beans have a medieval use as a facial cleanser and are now used in products to protect against abscesses, rashes and warts.
Vinegar could be found in Trotula’s recipes for hair care and colouring, scabies, face, lip and gum care; today is used for scalp psoriasis, hair care and as a face exfoliator. Meanwhile, egg yolk found use in the medieval text for lightening and strengthening hair, while today is considered useful for nourishing damaged hair.
The similarities between Trotula’s skincare remedies and modern ones go beyond just the ingredients but also in their ways of application. The researchers write:
Trotula’s beauty tips for the face are surprisingly current and resemble the modern “skincare routine,” as they involve a pre-treatment, Consisting of thorough washing together with what we can define a modern peeling and a simple exfoliating mask before the application of specific functional treatments. The evolution of concepts, practices, ingredients, and methodologies in use in the aesthetic field from the Middle Ages to today, allow us to underline similarities and differences.
Indeed, the specific recipes for facial treatment confirm the study and interest in aesthetic problems and “cosmetic” products by the Salerno Medical School. The original cosmetic science of Trotula shares with modern cosmetology, even in the case of the treatments proposed for the face, the goal of seeking to improve one’s appearance, making us perceive the existence of a canon of beauty of the time, but also to preserve skin health or cure various skin diseases, with a focus on prevention, a key and modern concept of Salerno practical medicine.
This need is met with a wide application of herbs, minerals, and animal fats, used as raw materials to formulate cosmetics that we would currently define as “functional”.
For example, one facial cleaning that Trotula describes begins with a pre-treat wash that is based on tartar oil that provides a softening, lightening, and smoothing action. This tartar oil is not just a simple item, either, for it is made by soaking the tartar in vinegar using iron containers, a process which takes three to four days to complete.
There is even more complexity to the treatment: “Trotula recommends applying tartar oil at night for its greasiness, for at least 7 consecutive nights, in relation to the type of skin; a particularly dry skin may require prolonged treatment for up to 15 days. During the day, in the period of night treatment with tartar oil, the skin should be washed with water and starch, which acts as a sprinkling and adsorbent/lightening powder.
To prepare the starch, fresh barley grains are left to rot in three parts of water and ground in a mortar. The resulting slurry is crushed, and then, the water is left to evaporate in the sun in order to obtain a dry product that can be stored for subsequent applications.” Today, this combination of tartar and vinegar is still used to treat dry skin.
The study points out that knowledge of plants, animals and minerals for their cosmetic use is something that goes back to ancient times and follows a long tradition, which Trotula de Ruggiero was able to write down and detail.
The researchers conclude:
Trotula’s cosmetics and modern cosmetics seem to share a holistic vision since both don’t only look at the “product” and the “remedy” separated from the person to whom it is addressed. They have in common the attention to the balance and harmony of the individual, in the “man / woman-product-environment” interaction.
Sustainable solutions and products, environmental protection, cost optimization with respect to performance are the drivers of cosmetology of the third millennium which, like Trotula’s cosmetology, is at the service of the person, aims to contribute to accompanying and slowing down the normal and physiological aging, wants to cooperate in well-being, using the help that comes from the plant world and the ecosystem in general.”
- Medieval skincare routines were remarkably similar to modern versions, study finds

God of Judgment
@flashfictionfridayofficial FFF190 "Trapped in the Dark"
The prompt inspired another scene snippet for Dragon Slayers. I am still in the planning phase of this novel, but writing snippets for scene ideas has been fun!
The throne hall was dark and murky, lit only by the glimmering glow of magical torches that glistened and danced on walls and pillars. Shadows flickered around the massive columns and arches, casting long, menacing shapes across the floor. There were no windows to lighten the gloom. A heavy scent of dampness and decay hung thickly over everything. An old, cold chill had seeped into the very stones of the place, freezing the air in its wake. It clung like a shroud, covering every inch with an icy blanket that threatened to suffocate any who dared step inside.
Casimir’s gaze drifted past the shadowed stone walls and up toward the ceiling, where an assortment of statues looked down upon him like nothing more than gargoyles. They were all clad in armor made from bone, each one clutching their weapons of choice: swords, daggers, or axes. Their heads were grotesque things, each one different and hideous – some horns curving outward, others protruding in strange angles. All bore the same expression of hatred, every last one of them. It was as though they'd been sculpted with a desire to strike fear into the hearts of those who came before them.
And it worked.
His stomach twisted up in knots. The air here reeked of death and despair. Every step sent icy fingers creeping over his skin and across his back, making him shiver. He wanted to turn around and run, but he'd promised himself not to do so. This was the only way he could save himself. He had to face this nightmare head-on and hoped it would be enough.
He felt Regimar's presence. The God of Fate stood at his side, his hands locked behind his back. His eyes were grim and unreadable. A drastic change from the god's whimsical nature. Now, he wore the mask of a man on a mission, one that carried more weight than his usual escapades. He stared straight ahead, his lips pressed together as if trying to keep something from spilling out.
Casimir turned to find himself facing a figure seated upon an ornate black throne. It was decorated with intricate carvings of runes and symbols that twinkled and shimmered as the torchlight caught them. The throne seemed to radiate a soft blue aura, but the darkness and shadows around him easily overpowered it. Still, even in the dim lighting, something was striking about the man who sat upon it.
He was towering and imposing, with facial features that were refined but also strong and masculine. His yellow eyes were piercing, like shards of ice, and each one was narrowed slightly, giving his gaze a predatory cast. His hair was white with silver undertones and cut into an angular fringe that swept over his forehead. He wore a long black coat that fell over his shoulders, covering the top half of his body, and the sleeves reached down almost to his wrists. Over his left shoulder, he bore a sword, its hilt wrapped in fine gold wire. On his right hip, he carried what looked like a curved dagger, its blade a gleaming red color. His leather boots were polished to a high shine, and his crimson pants were form-fitting. He lounged on the throne he sat upon in a way that made him seem bored or tired, even.
So, this is Sigmund Stein. The God of Judgment. He had to be centuries old, but to the human eye, he didn’t look a day over thirty-six.
Yet none of these details mattered. What did was the fact that the God of Judgment sat there, watching him with calm, unwavering eyes. He found himself feeling utterly defeated under that gaze. His body trembled under the weight of dread and doubt. Fear gripped his chest tightly, constricting his breathing. He knew that if he didn't fight this terror, then his mind might well give in completely, and he'd lose himself to madness.
"You're late," Sigmund said, and Casimir flinched at the sound of his voice. It was deep and rich, like the rumble of distant thunder.
It echoed, reverberating through the chamber like the roar of waves crashing against rocks on a shoreline. It was impossible for Casimir to ignore. All at once, he felt as though he was being pulled out of his own body and dragged straight into the god's presence.
He tried to open his mouth to speak, but his throat was dry and parched.
Sigmund's eyes darted toward Regimar, his lips twisting into a snarl. "Why is he still alive?”

If anyone wanted the random backstory stuff for my new Crane, here it all is. Headcanons above the bar, whole messily typed up everything below. I typed it up the other day so I might as well yeet it out here.
Just remember this is an original design complete with an original headcanon to it. I'm a big Scarecrow fan, but I haven't seen/read everything on him, so he's not going to be perfect or anything. He's just my brain boy. UwU
Please don't use any of this for your own use without any credit towards myself!
IMAGE
Jonathan Crane is a tall man, reaching somewhere to his mid thirties in age. He has been a villain for only a couple of years, so while he has had plenty of time to establish himself as the Scarecrow in his Gotham, he isn't one of the old baddies nor any new kind of threat. Long red hair is often left loose, though when he is working he has a tendency to pull it into a ponytail or tuck it away entirely when villainizing in costume.
While both eyes are a rich green colour, one is glazed over with scar tissue from a bird attack in his late teens, rendering him blind in that eye. Scars cross over that eye, and lid, as well as all over his face, shoulders, and arms. Primarily from birds, but a select few from a stay at the Arkham Asylum, which is not exactly known to be gentle with its inhabitants. Though he walks fine on his own, there is a slight limp to his left leg from damage thanks to a guard who had a vendetta against him.
He currently has no piercings or tattoos, and he wears glasses for his good eye when working or reading.
Jonathan usually wears something like work casual or formal wear, including button-up shirts and vests. He often covers as much skin as he can comfortably manage, including sometimes wearing makeup to lighten up some of his facial scars. His style in public could maybe be considered Goth Librarian, though he only sticks to black lipstick and maybe eyeliner and doesn't consider himself 'goth' at all. (I think I just mean, he sometimes wears dark makeup) When working at home or in the lab, there is zero attempt at keeping his appearance up, though he has a steady hand in keeping organized at the very least.
HEADCANON
|| Though his first major fear was a combination of gunpoint and bird attack, he is still quite fond of birds; corvids in particular.
|| He developed a mild fear of bats after he was taken down by Batman the first time. While he feels that he has overcome this, he still feels a shiver of excitement whenever he has a dealing with the Bat due to the both of them using fear as a tactic, and wondering if he'll glean anything from the man in their encounters.
|| Being legally unable to drive due to being blind in one eye (and a villain, and an escapee from Arkham) doesn't stop him from having a vehicle to get around.
|| This Dr. Crane is no stranger to murder, and his morals may seem skewed between friends and 'anyone else'. While he might make an attempt to put up a mask to keep people in the dark about his thoughts and opinions on the matter, it might become easy to tell that he just doesn't care about a lot of Gotham's population- or the world as a whole.
|| His primary weapon of choice will always be his Fear Gas, but he often keeps a pistol on himself if he suspects he may need it, as well as a knife just in case. While he isn't a physical fighter, not particularly strong of build, his lankiness can give him the upper hand at times.
FROM BIRTH TO FEAR
Jonathan Crane was born into a normal life, with a normal family in Gotham. He was orphaned when he was six, however, and was sent down south to live with his maternal aunt. This would shift his destiny from a possibly normal one, to one of villainy and fear. Bullied by his cousins, seen as a freak in school for his bright red hair and incredibly tall height once he hit puberty, Jonathan began to grow away from people and more to his studies... and birds.
The birds were Jonathan's fascination, their intelligence drawing him in. Specifically, there was a flock of crows he took to feeding while in high school out back behind the bleachers during lunch. Sometimes he would get found by school bullies, or even his cousins, and he would deal with it- and picked up the name 'scarecrow' not only for his tall and lanky stature, but his affinity for the birds. The birds themselves began to realize what was going on, and the bullies soon began having problem with them. Jonathan was almost thrown out of school because they said he intentionally sent the birds after them, but his grades were near-perfect and the school needed the rep to have such an esteemed scholar.
Senior year, Jonathan dressed up as an actual scarecrow- burlap mask, an oversize hat, and all. Which became both a problem, and his legacy.
The birds didn't know that the boy dressed as a scarecrow was the human who had been taking care of them.
The bullies thought bringing a gun to school for a 'good scare' on Halloween was a good idea.
A fight broke out behind the bleachers, and Jonathan narrowly missed getting shot. The gun went off and he managed to get it into his hands, shakily pointing it at the bullies who took off running to likely get him into trouble-
but then there were the birds, and that bullet had taken one of their lives.
A murder of crows is difficult to get anyone out of, but fortunately once the gun had been dropped and the mask was clear, they stopped swarming. There had been damage done already, however, and Jonathan Crane got his first taste of Fear that day. More so than bullying and being afraid of getting hurt or robbed or worse. True fear, the kind that sat on his nerves the whole time he was in the hospital. The kind that followed him through graduation, right into college.
Returning to Gotham likely didn't help even slightly.
Jonathan was one of the youngest in his college to earn a PHD for his studies in not only human cognition, but biological chemistry and how they work together. While the college thought he might have been the next branch in science to discover ways to help with PTSD and anxiety, his focus was on Fear and studying it further. Driven by his own fears and what he had viewed in others, he was borderline obsessive to figure it out. Why were some fears a learned experience, while others seemingly born with a person? He hadn't felt anything so deep before the birds, not even his sense of isolation, childhood abandonment, and some mental abuse he had gone through.
Becoming a Professor at age 27, Dr. Crane made a quick reputation of himself by frightening his class into compliance within the first week of every semester he taught. While it was frowned upon by many of his colleagues, they also tended to be a little frightened by the man and never approached him about it. He taught a course on human emotions, and while most of it was very textbook, every semester the topic of Fear would always either make or break his classes. Though the higher ups could never quite figure out why, he had a 34% drop-out rate when that section of the book was brought around.
Then they found out he was experimenting on his students, and that had him fired particularly quickly despite his arguments and threats.
VILLAINY
After being fired and entirely dismissed from the school board, with threats of calling the police on him, Jonathan Crane snapped. The culmination of losing his chance to study his students, to teach them about their fears, and the loss of access to a lab he spent quite a lot of time in was too much for him. He disappeared off the grid for a month, no hide nor hair seen of him until...
Halloween came around.
The whole school became the scene of a crime. It took hours for the police to even figure out what was happening, because they could not enter the building without losing officers to some sort of gas. It was rudimentary in form, but the first dose of Fear Gas was used in the airways throughout the college, and students, faculty, and teachers alike were all now Dr. Crane's experiments.
No- The Scarecrow's experiments.
Once they could obtain masks that helped a swat team enter the school, The Scarecrow had killed half the faculty and spent his time observing the remaining staff and students for their responses to the toxins in their systems. While his costume wasn't complete, it was clear as to what he was dressed up, and that was the first instance that The Batman made his appearance in Jonathan's life. He was taken out almost whimsically easy compared to the struggle the police had with him, and that night also marked his first arrest.
Dr. Jonathan Crane was deemed criminally insane and sent to Arkham Asylum not only for his crimes at the school, but for the potential problems he could cause outside of it.
In with the Bigs, Dr. Crane didn't exactly get along with many. He was uppity and rude when social, distant and cold when he didn't want to talk to anyone, and he was so incredibly bored that his moods were never good unless someone was willing to help with that. The guards loathed him, especially because he knew exactly how to talk to his doctors and psychiatrist to get either them into trouble, or him into some sort of better situation. They beat on him often, abused him plenty, and there were many days he never got any food.
Yet he stayed the same, and over time they would all gradually learn to live with each other.
It wasn't even a year in when the jailbreak occurred.
Jonathan had been handling chores scrubbing dishes, allowed in the kitchen not only because he hated it considerably, but because he hadn't made any attempts to steal anything up to this time. An explosion rocked the building, and the alarms went off. The guards who were supposed to be watching he and Tetch- the lad who was washing up with him- both disappeared off to deal with what was happening. Dr. Crane took his chance, and so did the Hatter. As did many others who had been holed up in there, waiting for something like this to come along.
It turned out that some of the Gotham Rogues on the outside were planning something big, and not only needed a distraction to draw the Bat in, but more hired hands and minds to assist them in their endeavors. Jonathan was recruited among some others, and while none of them worked well together- not quite- they didn't necessarily have to. An unknown supporter funded them not only on their escape, but in setting up outside the Asylum to not get caught and to further their own reasons of villainy on the city. It was like a dream come true, and Jonathan denies feeling anything more than relief at being on the outside again.
Underfed and weak, Dr. Crane took his time in not only recovering from his stay at the Asylum, but also collecting the necessary components to develop more of his Fear Gas... and to make it better. His benefactor liked his work so much, he was given more money for a better lab, better equipment, and a means to gather 'lab rats' to experiment on. While he could've had morals once, that all had gone out the door when they stripped him of his lab and classes as a professor, and he only seemed to spiral further away once he was introduced into his cell in Arkham. Whether his subjects live or die is nothing more than another point to study and adjust potency and amounts for his gas, as well as the serums he had begun to develop.
By the time Dr. Jonathan Crane had amassed a significant status as the Scarecrow in Gotham, he was thirty-six, and Halloween that year...
Well. Calendar Man and Holiday aren't the only ones who enjoy celebrating on festive days.
CURRENT TIMELINE
Dr. Crane currently still receives funds from a benefactor he has suspected on, but has never actually guessed who or why. It has been long since they needed him for their 'plan', of which had not only gathered the Rogues and some other Villains to some strange sense of community, but ultimately the goal seemingly had been to take down the Red Hood and to get the Batman to kill. Only one of which actually worked, and now there's a 'new' Vigilante working more with the Bat than parallel to him with more deaths involved. It has been both a frustration for the community, a popular topic at the Iceberg, and something of a breath of relief because apparently the Hood had been particularly gunhappy before the jailbreak.
Living in a flat of an older building bordering Crime Alley from the Bowery, Jonathan lives a very quiet life at home and a somewhat active life as the Scarecrow. While his crimes are always scientifically oriented- experimenting with his fear gas on a broader scale, observing the effects of particular popular fears on a community- sometimes they also have an underlying goal to them. Three times so far, his experiments and nasty work has been good coverage for other things going on in the background, like a bank robbery, a murder of an important official, and tipping the tides of a riot where the Gotham PD needed an extra nudge into the crowd to sully their records further.

Hydrafacial vs Parlour Facial - Which is Better?
No matter one's age, regularly obtaining skincare is an excellent approach for addressing surface issues and preserving a fresh, glowing appearance. Facials are renowned to cultivate a more youthful and moist countenance. However, with the recent rise in popularity of Hydrafacial, numerous skincare aficionados find themselves perplexed about which choice to make.
Hydrafacial has rapidly accrued backing, presenting stiff contest to traditional facials. But does it live up to the hype?
Opting for the proper type of skincare for your surface can be tricky, and the primary query lingering in everyone's mind is, "Which is superior: a routine facial or a Hydrafacial?"
If you've been wondering similarly, this article is for you. Let us delve into the key differences between traditional facials and Hydrafacials, along with their benefits, so you can decide which option best suits you.
What is Hydrafacial?
Hydrafacial treatment is an advanced facial that incorporates newer technologies for better results. This hydra dermabrasion treatment consists of a combination of microdermabrasion, exfoliation, and hydration with personalized serums. This technology cleans your skin to the deepest layers, removing makeup, oil, and impurities.
Most dermatologists in Delhi highly recommend Hydrafacial for people with features of clogged pores, acne, and dullness because it cleanses the skin deeper and rejuvenates it.
How does Hydrafacial work?
Hydrafacial typically involves three main steps. First, a trained skin doctor in Delhi will cleanse and exfoliate your skin, followed by a gentle chemical peel. After your pores are cleared, hydrating serums are infused into your skin, making it look fresh, glowing, and well-hydrated. Finally, a high-tech device is used to apply protective serums to keep your pores shielded from dirt and impurities post-treatment.
Hydrafacial provides both instant and long-term results compared to regular facials, making it an attractive option for many. It addresses various skin concerns, including:
Elasticity and firmness
Uneven tone and brown spots
Acne
Skin texture
Fine lines and wrinkles
Large pores
Rosacea and sensitive skin
Oily and congested skin
What are Traditional Facials and How Do They Work?
Apart from the beauty parlors, these regular facials can also be done at home using a facial kit or mask.
Facials comprise a manual process that involves more than one step to lighten and smoothen the skin.
A usual facial would include cleaning with creams, scrubbing with scrubs, and applying peel-off masks.
There are numerous types of facials catering to various skin concerns, like dryness, acne, and aging.
Regular facials work at reviving the nutrients lost from the skin due to its exposure to pollution, sun, and daily grime.
A few other specialty facials stimulate blood flow and circulation and even collagen production which may result in healthier skin.
Most of the skin specialists in Delhi prescribe regular facials for healthy and glowing skin, especially with conditions in which they live in a city like Delhi, which is so polluted.
Classic Facials can offer the following benefits:
Blackheads
Large pores
Uneven Skin Texture
Fine Lines and Wrinkles
Dull skin
Benefits of Hydrafacial
Here are the standout benefits of Hydrafacial:
Gentle on the skin: Hydrafacial is a gentle treatment that cleanses and rejuvenates without causing abrasions or irritation, unlike traditional facials.

Benefits of Traditional Facials
Here are the key benefits of traditional facials:
Deep cleansing: Traditional facials are great for thoroughly cleansing your skin and removing dirt, dead skin, and impurities.
Anti-aging properties: Facials help reduce the signs of aging by nourishing the skin with essential nutrients and serums.
Encourages cell turnover: Massaging during a facial improves circulation, encouraging cell regeneration and collagen production.
Detoxification: Facials help detox your skin by removing toxins and enhancing its natural defenses.
Stress relief: Regular facials are excellent for reducing stress and providing relaxation.
Healthier skin: Regular facials protect your skin from pollution and environmental damage, preventing clogged pores that lead to acne.
Collagen regeneration: Some facials are specifically designed to boost collagen production, which tightens the skin and reduces fine lines.
Which is better, Regular Facials or Hydrafacial?
Hydrafacial is as different as broad daylight when compared to regular facials. Hydrafacial offers an advanced deep skin cleansing device to give glowing skin within less time. In the case of traditional facials, such treatments depend upon manual processes. Regular facials show short-term results that are usually not that evident.
At times, traditional facials and products used in them irritate the skin, especially if they contain harsh chemicals. Hydrafacial treatments give more consistent and long-lasting results. It can be treated according to individual skin concerns, it is a safe and effective treatment without any side effects. Cow Milk Benefits for Skin: More Than Just a Drink
Cow milk isn’t just a nutritious drink; it’s also a natural skincare powerhouse! Loaded with essential vitamins, minerals, and healthy fats, cow milk can help rejuvenate, hydrate, and protect your skin, giving you a glowing, youthful complexion. Discover how cow milk can become a staple in your skincare routine:
1. Exfoliates and Brightens the Skin Cow milk is rich in lactic acid, a natural exfoliant that gently removes dead skin cells, revealing a fresh, smooth complexion. This gentle exfoliation helps unclog pores and keep your skin healthy and radiant.
2. Hydrates and Moisturizes Thanks to its healthy fats, cow milk provides deep hydration, especially for dry or flaky skin. Regular use helps retain moisture, leaving your skin soft, smooth, and well-nourished.
3. Reduces Inflammation The anti-inflammatory properties of cow milk make it effective for calming redness, irritation, or inflammation. It’s an excellent remedy for sunburn, rosacea, and acne-prone skin.
4. Fights Aging and Wrinkles Cow milk is a source of casein, which helps boost collagen production. As collagen naturally decreases with age, milk can help firm the skin, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
5. Protects Against Sun Damage Vitamin D and retinol in cow milk aid in repairing sun damage and encourage skin cell turnover, reducing the visibility of sun spots and pigmentation. This makes your skin more resilient to sun exposure.
6. Helps with Acne Raw cow milk has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, which can soothe acne-prone skin. The lactic acid in milk also cleanses pores, reducing the likelihood of breakouts.
How to Use Cow Milk in Skincare
Milk Baths: A milk bath is perfect for soothing and hydrating the skin, especially after sun exposure.
Facial Cleanser: Splash chilled milk on your face for a refreshing, hydrating cleanse.
Facial Mask: Yogurt, a fermented milk product, can serve as a gentle exfoliant and nourishing face mask.
Dark Spot Treatment: Apply raw milk on dark spots with a cotton swab to help lighten and diminish their appearance.
Caution While cow milk offers many skincare benefits, it may not be suitable for everyone. Test on a small area first, especially if you have sensitive or acne-prone skin, as it can clog pores if not used carefully.
Conclusion With its moisturizing, exfoliating, and anti-inflammatory properties, cow milk is a timeless skincare ally. Try using it as a cleanser, mask, or soothing bath, and enjoy the natural glow it brings to your skin.

Different Types of Facial Services and How to Choose the Right One for Your Skin
Facials are a vital part of skincare routines, offering various benefits from cleansing and exfoliation to deep rejuvenation. With numerous types of facials available, it’s essential to understand their differences and how they address specific skin concerns.
1. Basic Facial
A classic facial includes cleansing, exfoliation, steaming, and moisturizing. Ideal for those looking for a quick refresh, it’s suitable for all skin types, especially those with sensitive or dry skin. Basic facials are excellent for maintaining skin health and preventing common issues like clogged pores and dullness.
2. Deep Cleansing Facial
For those struggling with acne or congestion, a deep cleansing facial helps purify the skin by focusing on extracting blackheads and clearing clogged pores. This treatment often includes extractions and a detoxifying mask to help balance oil production and reduce breakouts.
3. Anti-Aging Facial
This type of facial focuses on combating fine lines, wrinkles, and signs of aging. Using products rich in antioxidants, peptides, and vitamin C, anti-aging facials stimulate collagen production and hydrate the skin, restoring a youthful appearance. It’s ideal for individuals in their 30s or older looking to delay aging signs.
4. Hydrating Facial

5. Chemical Peel Facial

For uneven skin tone, dullness, or pigmentation, a brightening facial uses specialized products that target discoloration and brighten the complexion. Ingredients like vitamin C, niacinamide, and other lightening agents are used to enhance skin clarity and radiance.
7. Oxygen Facial
Oxygen facials use pressurized oxygen to deliver vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants deep into the skin. This type of facial is designed to boost skin circulation, improve elasticity, and hydrate the skin. It’s a great option for those needing a quick glow before an event or photo shoot.
8. Microdermabrasion Facial
Microdermabrasion is a non-invasive treatment that exfoliates the skin using tiny crystals to remove dead skin cells. It helps smooth texture, brighten the skin, and minimize the appearance of fine lines and acne scars. Microdermabrasion is a good choice for individuals looking for a gentle yet effective exfoliation.
How to Choose the Right Facial for Your Skin Type
Selecting the right facial depends on your skin’s unique needs. Here are some tips to help you make the best choice:

Best Skincare Practices to Combat Festive Season Skin Damage
During the festive season, attending numerous celebrations and parties and indulging in various activities is common. However, this can harm your skin. Continuous exposure to pollutants from firecrackers, heavy makeup, and late nights can result in dull, tired, and damaged skin. To maintain your skin's health during this time, it's important to follow essential skincare practices to help combat the damage and keep your skin glowing.
In this blog, we will discuss the best skincare practices to protect and rejuvenate your skin, including using products like vitamin C serum for oily skin, sunscreen gel, d tan facial kit, and specific Diwali skincare tips.
1. Cleanse Thoroughly to Remove Impurities
During the holidays, your skin is exposed to smoke, pollution, and dust, which can clog your pores and lead to breakouts. A thorough cleansing routine is the first step toward healthy skin.
Use a gentle, sulfate-free face cleanser to wash away impurities, excess oil, and makeup. For oily skin, choose a cleanser that balances sebum production without stripping the skin of its natural moisture.
Tip: Cleanse twice daily, especially at night, to remove all the dirt and makeup before going to bed.
2. Brighten Your Skin with Vitamin C Face Serum
Vitamin C is well-known for its ability to brighten the skin and reduce dark spots, making it an essential ingredient for festive season skincare. Using a vitamin C serum for oily skin not only helps combat the effects of pollution but also improves your skin's overall radiance.
Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant that protects your skin from environmental damage, boosts collagen production, and helps fade hyperpigmentation. For those with oily skin, it’s important to choose a lightweight, non-greasy formula that hydrates without clogging your pores.
How to Use: Apply a few drops of vitamin C serum after cleansing and toning, but before moisturising. This will give your skin a bright, even tone and protect it from further damage.
3. Protect Your Skin with Sunscreen Gel
Whether going out for Diwali shopping or spending time outdoors during the celebrations, protecting your skin from UV rays is essential. Using a sunscreen gel is particularly effective for those with oily skin, as it protects without the greasy residue that cream-based sunscreens can leave behind.
A sunscreen gel with SPF 40 or higher will shield your skin from sun damage and prevent tanning and premature ageing. Look for a UV sunscreen gel that also includes antioxidants to provide additional protection against pollution and environmental aggressors.
Pro Tip: Apply sunscreen 15-20 minutes before going outside, and reapply every two hours if you are spending extended periods in the sun.
4. Pamper Your Skin with a D-Tan Facial Kit
During festivals, sun exposure and pollution can make your skin tanned and dull. A D-tan facial kit can help restore your skin’s natural glow by removing tan, dead skin cells, and impurities. D-tan facials are specifically designed to lighten pigmentation, reduce sun damage, and provide deep hydration.
Most D-tan facial kits contain a combination of a cleanser, exfoliator, massage cream, face serum and face mask to exfoliate, brighten, and rejuvenate your skin. Using a Detan facial kit before Diwali can help give you a fresh, glowing complexion just in time for the celebrations.
How to Use: Use a D-tan facial kit once a week to maintain clear, glowing skin during the festive season. Follow up with a hydrating serum or moisturizer for long-lasting hydration.
5. Incorporate Diwali Skincare Practices
During the festive season, your skin requires extra care due to the increased exposure to pollutants, stress, and erratic schedules. Follow these Diwali skincare tips to maintain healthy and glowing skin:
Hydrate from within: Drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated. Festive treats can be rich in sugar and salt, which can dehydrate your skin and cause breakouts.
Use hydrating masks: Incorporate sheet masks or hydrating face masks into your routine to give your skin an instant moisture boost.
Avoid heavy makeup daily: Try to give your skin some makeup-free days to breathe and recover from the heavy makeup worn during the festivities. When using makeup, opt for non-comedogenic products to prevent clogged pores.
Get your beauty sleep: Late nights are inevitable during the festive season, but try to get enough sleep to allow your skin to recover and rejuvenate.
Festive celebrations can take a toll on your skin, but with the right skin care practices, you can keep your skin healthy and glowing throughout the season.
This festive season, celebrate your skin and keep it healthy and glowing from within!!
