The #skilight is about to get coated! All masked up...

Tonight's efforts and progress on the #skilight. Routed and squared up the 3 x 15mm deep and 18mm wide slots for the LED profiles, routed the wiring junction box and made its lid, then cut the rough ski shape to just shy of the line on the Bandsaw, and used my new BEAST of a belt sander by Maktec to sand the final shape into the ski light. On to finishing details now. The end is in sight! Excited!

To me your light blue, turquoise, pink (I've never seen you but I just know that you are), green and damn if I allowed myself to drink you would also be lavender ( it comes with green :) )

Out of the press - the #skilight is taking shape! Rapt with the form. On to routing the light channels, then shaping this thing, and getting it finished.

The 5 laminate layers of the #skilight showing the channels routed for the plastic conduit shown on top of the press form (the top layer is on the table saw). They all came together perfectly, but I've got a blister from cranking up the 38 or something clamps! Now I need to wait patiently until tomorrow before removing the clamps. Then it's on to routing the channels for the aluminium profiles for the 2 x runs of up light LEDs and the 1 x run of Downlight LEDs. When I route those channels, That will expose the ends of the plastic conduits (hence the J shape) - so I can feed the wires through them to a central exit point that will be routed and then capped when it's all wires up. Then shape the ski, and finishing. Plenty of planning to get this right! Can’t wait for the finished article.
