i saw you talking about a pokemon au once or twice and i just wanna put forward an idea from my own au that Yukiko absolutely has a Furret. 100%. She's had it since her acting days so it grew up with Shinichi and while it initially is confused about Conan it recognizes him almost instantly. When he was little Yukiko would find the two of them napping together in the library/study. It's every bit as doting over Conan as Yukiko is.

While that does sound super cute I’m afraid you may be thinking of @snoozeeroo, who does have an amazing Pokémon au that I love!!!

Unless you are referring to the tags of this post, where I thought up a silly au idea where shinichi gets turned into a Phantump :))) in which case, this would be both sad and adorable! He may not be a person anymore, but he CAN hang out with his mom’s furret, lol

Hi! You're one of my favorite artists ever, and I would love to do some studies of your art! What are some of your favorite pieces that you've done, and how do you pick your colors? There's a lot more questions that I could ask, but figured you wouldn't appreciate an entire list of questions XD

Hello and thank you, I am honored! Feel free to send me all and any questions! I'll answer these two, starting by:

How do you pick your colors?

As I change art style with pretty much every illustration project of significance, this varies a lot. Here are, from most to least common, ways I pick my colors.

Eyeballing it. Unfortunately my most common... What I will do a lot digitally is lay down a color background, and flats of a few colors, then manually adjust each until they look good together by selecting by color and using adjustements. I then paint over it all.

Using a limited palette, eyeballed. Same as before, but this time I force myself to only use a few colors. It helps me, as constraints do.

Using a reference, eyeballed. This happens a lot when I mimick an art style. My medieval drawings for example, are often done by looking at images of actual medieval art to get an idea of what colors to use to look medieval.

Using an existing image, pipetted. Rarely, often as a challenge or if I'm super stuck, I'll just take a pic with colors I like and pipet from it. This website automates this if you want a good easy starting point!

These can be combined around. I'll post examples now, explaining how they use each.

This is a sketch for a drawing I ended up doing way different. This is the first method - I used a flat layer for the characteres and three colors for the sky to test out atmosphere. This is how I plan out most full paintings, just trying to nail down a mood I have in my head. I fiddle around until I like it or, like in this case, fully give up and iterate further. Here, the composition was to be redone too as I did not like the body language. I was going for "bright hot sunny day under a weather that feels wrong".

For this comic, I combined a very limited palette and a photo ref to pipet from. I was looking for the stark cold/warm contrast of a mid-season bright night by a fireside. I took a google image photo of a campfire at night that was already edited. The photo itself looks unnatural but conveyed what I wanted. It's still on the file itself! From it, I pipetted a few colors I found "summed up" the palette and did all with them.

While my own habits make me prefer painting as you would in traditional methods, with directly picking the right colors, I will often digitally alter with overlays and layer blending modes some colors and gradients, etc, to alter a drawing to fix it's color palette. The following is a quite egregious example, because I first drew the character in flats before putting him in a full scene. Here is a before/after summed up.

The shadow is a layer, the bright yellow light zones also, and the orange "transitions" of light zones on the skin a third. There's also an overlay over the full character to blend him in. I do this by...making a full flat color of a layer, fucking around until a blending mode does what I want, and adjusting hue/brightness/saturation and opacity until it looks good.

Another WIP where I was struggling with the overall palette. I was going for late 60s psychedelic. You can see in the top right the original color. I thought it looked too...new, so I added a yellow layer on top, and fiddled with it. Final choice was the following setting. I then put it with my sketch and color blockout in a folder and painted over it.

For this sort of adjustement, the "Color Balance" modifier in CSP, Photoshop, and others is also a godsend - but one I often use for fine tuning a finished piece.

This being said, there's some rough rules to coloring which are...born from studying color theory and doing studies. I am guilty of doing very little studies...so I'll just sum up the basics of the color theory rules I use.

For "default" shading, I use a color that is darker, more saturated and with a slight hue diff. This is my "don't shade with black".

Using a shadow that's cooler will make the light look warm.

Vice versa.

There's a bunch of stuff to remember in how colors relate to each other and pipetting images who's atmosphere you think is interesting really is the best way to learn... It's learning how to black-blue/gold-yellow dress in your own art for the lack of a better word...But the basics will be:

Don't trust numerical values, but look at your colors in context. A same hue, brightness, saturation can look so much different. This is how Rakkan's beard looks whiteish here despite being a light very grey brown.

All this but...colour is such a wide topic, I can't really say a lot but can also type for hours... if you have precise questions about a piece in particular I can explain :') I hope this wasn't too vague and was instructive!

Ahh, thank you! :)

And, well, I don't really think there's like perfect or universal advice on how to write because everyone likes different things and has a different process that works for them, but I'll do my best to list some things that help/have helped me!

Know your source material. Whether you're writing a canon compliant fic or something wildly AU, rewatching the show can help you get the character voices down and might make you feel less nervous about figuring out how you want your dialogue to sound or how the characters would behave in the situation you're putting them in.

Make yourself some tea. Idk what it is about a warm, caffeinated drink, but when I'm sitting at my desk with one it really helps me stay focused.

Start small if you're worried about finishing something big. There's no rule that says in order to be a fic writer you have to write 100k word masterpieces. In fact, my attention span is so fucked I usually don't write anything longer than 5k word one shots and I'm perfectly content with that. If all you want to do is try to get your feet wet with a 500 word ficlet to see how it goes, do it! Short fics are fun to read and much less pressure to finish.

Make an outline. No need to go crazy with it, but I usually sketch out the rough plan I've got with a few bullet points just to organize my thoughts and make sure I don't forget something.

Don't be afraid to write scenes out of order. There's also no rule that you have to begin at the beginning. I usually end up jumping around and making the parts I've written meet in the middle. If you vaguely know how you want your fic to start, but have a really concrete idea of how you want a specific part to go, just start there and work your way backward/forward.

If you get stuck, write the gist of what happens next in brackets and then move on to the next part. This goes with #5. I cannot even tell you how often I end up doing this and it helps maintain my writing flow so much bc instead of sitting there like "fuck, how do I wanna say this?" I can just be like "well, that's future Lynne's problem" and keep going with what I do have the words to write lol. You can also like just write a skeleton of dialogue and then go back and fill in the descriptions/their internal thoughts and reactions later if you don't know how you want to go about it yet, I do that a lot too.

Write what you want to read. Everyone likes different things and it's not really helpful to get caught up in trying to find an idea you think other people will like. Like I bet there are people who opened my fics, went "nope," and then backed out, but the thing is, I didn't write those fics for them, I wrote them for myself and whoever else ends up enjoying them. It also sucks trying to write something that doesn't inspire you, so if an idea isn't working for you, just... move on to something that does. You can always come back to it later (she says, avoiding eye contact with the WIPs in her folder).

Write. Even if you don't end up posting it, just giving it a go and seeing what happens is the only real way to start. You can always worry about editing later (either by yourself or with the help of a beta reader) or even scrap the whole thing and start over if you're not happy with it. I literally have docs that are basically just graveyards of whole paragraphs I deleted from WIPs but wanted to save just in case. The main thing to remember is that you're never gonna finish your story if you don't actually sit down and write it, so try to take the pressure off of yourself to make it perfect and just see what you come up with.

When it comes to art, I do have a WIP or two sitting somewhere deep in my folders. I haven't touched them in a long time and I hadn't made immediate plans to work on them, but I can share the sketches if you'd like :')

When it comes to future chapters, I have bits and snippets of LOTS of chapters sitting in my outline document; the whole fic was basically plotted out from the start, but I keep adding chapters in between other chapters because I'm insane HHAHA I'm still kinda figuring out if I'm up for the challenge of writing out the rest, but I might share those snippets and get some opinions/feedback if there's a lot of interest for stuff like that?

But for you, anon, I am happy to share the general outline I've been sitting on for the 2nd half of MSV. Basically, I've finished maybe 2 arcs out of 5. Here's some thoughts for the other 3; spoilers past the break below!

Arc 3 - Xingqiu/Chongyun's Relationship: Xingqiu and Chongyun's relationship doesn't go as simply as "let's just promise to be brave together"; they have to actually confront their individual issues (Chongyun's emotions and Xingqiu's vulnerability,) and it doesn't go smoothly. [At least 3 chapters are in this arc -- the trek back to Liyue Harbor, sharing nightmares in the dark, and overcompensating for their individual flaws (this last one might be 2-3 chapters actually....)]

Arc 4 - Xingqiu/Chongyun's Introspection: The two end up taking a break from their relationship to learn more about themselves, with some help from others. [I have 2 long chapters plotted here and 1 "conclusion" chapter: Chongyun meets Albedo, Xingqiu meets Qiqi, and the bittersweet reunion chapter.]

Act 5 - Xingqiu/Chongyun's Reunion: Xingqiu invites Chongyun to Inazuma for the delivery of his finished manuscript... except Xingqiu isn't satisfied with the ending. [Number of chapters is fuzzier here, but right now I have maybe 3-4: a bonding montage in Inazuma, another opportunity to gain wisdom from new friends, and a final conclusion chapter that puts everything they learned about themselves and relationships together.] Thank you again for the ask, anon!! Mentally and physically [my back is not doing great at all] I am not doing well and wanted to try to draw something really simple today so here is a pikachu oc I just made, probs will change their design a bit later but I do like their colours very much at least

Sylveon + Swirlix [Regular and Shiny] fusion/hybrid oc. Yeah I’m going to make alot of sylveon fusions/hybrid in the next bit just because sylveon is really cool. Uh dont have anything else to say.

Not so great attempt at a top down perspective [i think that is what it is called] + another test to try to get used to the rough lineart tool agaiI'm not sure but I think I have seen designs very similar to this?, Curly hair + big sweaters for tired/always sleepy characters is just a common thing right? Idk, but except some more chronically tired characters from me soon. I dont know what else to put here.n. Do think it looks nice other than the perspective.

For once going to ramble on for a bit I have had Ultra for quite a while [Since I was like 5 I think? Alot of the ocs currently in my gallery are like at most a few years old]. I don't have any previous drawings of her anymore [and some of her designs where never actually draw]. Originally she was a Super Mario oc, a Paragoomba with Rainbow wings, then a Flutterbie [Original species, a bunny butterfly basically, this design was never actually drawn] and now a human. Its not visible here but she has bunny ears on the hood of the hoodie, also I swapped the butterfly on her outfit for a rabbit to make more sense with the hoodie but also, so that I go with a butterfly theme for her husband [he doesn't currently have a name, his old name was literally just darkness, so I don't know what to go with now, maybe Violet? As their story is called Ultra Violet] Although I haven't talked much about the general lore about my original stuff, I redesigned her wand specifically to make more lore sense. Now that I think of it, basically all my human characters have wands but I haven't designed any of them other than hers yet. Wands come in all shapes and sizes and styles in my lore, but I trying to make at least one consistent part, being one big jem and a few small ones. The title might need make being an attack [think magical girl attack].

Drew the cat, then decided to be experimental [for me at least]  with the shading and shadow. Came up with a story for it while drawing it, I wont share it here yet as I want to make sure it makes sense and that I write it correctly but what I will say now is that purple cat [they are currently unnamed, I need to think of something] has had a very bad day and now had just lost their umbrella during a rainstorm. [I actually find rainstorms to be the most relaxing type of weather and so does this purple cat [at least] usually but just not in this situation]. Really like how this came out despite how rough the whole thing is.

I think my previous post actually might me get alot of frustration out my system [I haven't being so well home life wise but I feel weirdly better after that drawing with the purple cat]. So here is a 100% better and happier looking drawing. Another new design/character, I really need more black cat characters. Everyone should have more black cat characters because black cats very cool.

Took a really old sketch lying around in my wip folder and decided to try to remember where I originally wanted  go with the design. They are based on a Super Mushroom and Invincibility star [as well as a tiny bit on Mario himself,when I get to designing an outfit for them, it will likely be at least slightly mario themed]. Yeahs thats it.

Just a little thing with Cass, because I think I should draw my already existing characters instead of new ones, or very now and then at least, lol. Also love just how round and soft he looks, just like an actual small kitty :]

Random Autumn themed pony?? I guess?? Will probably tweak their colours later. Its nearly spring here not autumn lol.

Wanted to make a red and pink bunny so here is a random design,  probably going to them some markings because their design is a bit plain now. Really like how their eyes look : D. Im a bit surprised I don't have many bunny characters because I think they are very neat, especially albino bunnies [which this character is based on].

Character was designed by https://artfight.net/~Caskix as an artfight attack. Changed her design a little bit but overall like her design alot still. [Also golly heck, I used to be able to draw furries decently but cant really anymore , so going try to figure out how to draw them better again.]

Redesign of an unsold adopt. Might make a neater drawing/some extra stuff and sell them later [will probably be ota] or might keep them, not sure right now.

Redesign of Peaches [Might change their name but not exactly sure].  Saturated their colours a bit more and changed their markings a bit and I like their design even more now.  Also like how this came out in general, have been feeling off about my lineart lately so might do some more lineless or sketchy stuff.

Even now—even now!—so nonchalant as he flicked through the pictures Kaito had gathered for him, not even paying him attention as Kaito explained—

“Oi, KID—what?”

Huh. When had Kaito grabbed hold of Shinichi’s lapels?

Also... KID again.

“Shut up,” Kaito whispered. “Just stop it with the KID this and KID that!”

“Hey,” Shinichi said softly, gently, one hand wrapping around Kaito’s where it was crumpling his suit. The soft voice and hand sent tingles down Kaito’s spine. “I think you’re exhausted, KID, how about you—”

“I said shut up!” Kaito’s other hand went to join the first, abruptly pulling Shinichi closer, “I don’t want to hear it anymore! That’s all you ever call me, and I’m sick and tired of it!”

“Whoa! Hold on—” Shincihi tried, gently attempting to remove Kaito’s hands, but he wouldn’t let go.

“Do you understand me, Shinichi?” Kaito hissed, shaking the detective as he crowded into his personal space. “Do you understand—do you even see me?!”

A protest: “Of course I do!”

“No!” Kaito pulled him closer; Shinichi’s eyes wide as they remained fixed on his face. Probably for the first time since they had re-acquainted themselves on this ship. “Do. You. See. Me?”

Crumpled Up Pages: Old Captain Underpants WIPs #1-4

The First Epic Movie turned 5 earlier this month, and I dug through some old folders to write this post about it. In the process, I found some fanfic ideas I’d written down, fleshed out a little, and then forgot about for years. So while hyperfixation still has its grip on me (and while there’s still some extra activity in the tag), I figured I’d finally set these dust bunnies free!

A few ground rules before this deep dive descends:

When I say “fleshed out a little,” I’m putting major emphasis on the “little.” Some of these docs contain detailed notes and snippets of dialogue, but others are just a title and a vague one-sentence summary. I’ll be transparent about what each one contains, and try to fill in the bigger gaps by memory.

If you were around for the CU Fandom Renaissance of 2017, some of the ideas here might sound familiar, ‘cus I refitted them into fanart and headcanon dumps that actually got posted. I’ll link to those where they’re relevant.

These were all written and abandoned months before a CU show was even announced, so there’s no Epic Tales content or characters in here. Sorry if you were expecting any!

I’m splitting this into two posts cus it was getting and taking too long. This first part will cover the 4 simplest, fluffiest WIPs; the second one will tackle the 6 sadder, more character-heavy ones. And with character-heavy stuff comes spoilers for the movie and books — especially the books. If you haven’t read all 12, you’re probably wondering why anyone would care about Captain Underpants spoilers. First off, your loss; second off, BEWARE!

And finally: if you write fanfiction and feel inspired to use any of these ideas? You have my permission to do so! Seriously, steal anything here and put your own spin on them! I don’t care much for credit, but if these old things help fuel someone else’s creativity, I’d love to know!

WIP #1: Inspiration

It can come from even the worst of places. ...And people, in this case. [Book!Verse, pre-Book 1.]

This document contains a long script, but no context; I can remember the gist though, so I’ll insert that in-between dialogue. Basically it’s third grade, and George and Harold are in detention again. They cheat to fill up the blackboards like usual, but they’re too bummed out to start a comic afterwards. George sits around stewing in his frustration while Harold angry-scribbles Mr. Krupp yelling.

“...Why does he hate us so much, George?”

“I dunno. Maybe ‘cause he can’t handle our coolness? …Nice drawing, by the way.”

“Thanks. …It’s making me sad just lookin’ at it, though.”

“Yeah, me too. …I wonder what he’d look like if he smiled.”

“...?”

“...I mean, like, a real smile, not an I’ve-got-you-now smile.”

“Oh. Hmmm…”

Harold erases Krupp’s wide yelling mouth and draws a goofy smile in its place.

“Aw, man, now it’s just creepy.”

“Darn.”

The boys keep editing the drawing until it stops being creepy and starts being funny. George erases Krupp’s toupee, remembering the time they stole it and the teachers couldn’t take him seriously without it. Harold draws one of his office curtains around his neck, adding more color and kinetic energy. Soon they’re struggling not to laugh out loud, but they manage to calm down… until George gets an idea that takes the sketch from great to legendary.

“Waitwaitwaitwaitwait. Remember what my pop said about Superman yesterday?”

“That he looks like… DUDE. Duuuuuude.”

Harold redraws Krupp’s entire lower body so he’s only wearing underwear. Then with a flourish, he adds the finishing touch – two dots on his chest – and they both lose it. All their laughter finally prompts the real Krupp to check on them, and predictably, he rips up the drawing. It upsets the boys in the moment, but they’re still in much higher spirits than before, and brainstorm a new comic about their new creation as they skateboard home.

“You think we should make his origin issue first?”

“Naw, let’s get right to the action! His outfit’s already the perfect hook – finally, a superhero who actually does fly around in his underwear!”

“Yeah, and he could fight with Wedgie Power!”

God, rediscovering this gave me the most uncontrollable grin. From the date it was last opened, I think this fic was meant for September 1st, 2017 (Book 1’s 20th anniversary), and I gave up after missing it. For shame, 2017!me. For shame.

WIP #2: Untitled Boomer One-shot

Harold won’t admit it, but he’d slay a dragon for his little sister. [Book!Verse but only cus this scene was deleted and is thus dubiously canon]

This doc’s nothing but notes, so I’ll paraphrase the plot: Ms. Hutchins takes Heidi and Harold to Boomer the Purple Dragon: Live! Harold was gonna stay with the Beards but they cancelled last minute, and he’s grumpy about it the whole time. When the show ends, kids gather in front of the stage to meet Boomer; Ms. Hutchins suddenly gets an important call, and makes Harold walk Heidi up there. 

But the dragon’s mascot suit is big up close for a 6-year-old, and Heidi gets so scared she starts crying. She’s rooted to the spot and waves her arms in panic, but “Boomer” thinks she wants a hug and waddles closer and closer... until Harold kicks him in the groin. Their mom understandably grounds him for it, but Heidi is grateful and calls him her hero :)

This one was based on the classic “kid hits mascot in the weak spot” genre of AFV, but also on an early memory of mine! My sister and I loved Arthur as babies, so our mom took us to see this thing. The characters suddenly being real (and huge) was so upsetting that we scream-cried until she took us home early. (Speaking of Arthur, it’s a shame Heidi’s never really done anything in canon, I can see her having big DW energy.)

WIP #3: When Worlds Collide

It was less “love at first sight” and more “love at first squawk.” [Book!Verse, Book 7.]

A quick refresher: George told Harold to take Crackers back to dinosaur times, but he left her in the treehouse with Sulu instead. Later in the book, they’re shown snuggling in their sleep 🥺🥺 Anyway, this fic was about what they got up to in between! It’s actually the most complete of the lot, but only because it’s so short and simple.

It opens with Harold introducing them to each other, leaving out some treats for them (hamster food for Sulu, crackers for Crackers), then telling them to play nice until he comes back. They do not. Crackers pulls a Thunderclap the moment Harold leaves, Sulu karate-chops her throat until she spits him out, and they wreck half the treehouse in the ensuing chase.

Eventually they settle for standing in opposite corners and hissing at each other. Then Sulu… *squints* …records Crackers’ hisses with his bionic ears and plays them back so they can communicate? …Yeah, okay, why not. The outline ends after this sudden development; I’m guessing they talk things out and start to catch feels, before settling in to sleep. Anyway here’s the few sentences I actually wrote out:

Harold opened the door, Sulu got on the floor, and in walked the curious dinosaur.

[…] As predator and prey faced off, a little boy and his mother happened to be walking down Vine Street. “Mommy,” said the little boy, “I can hear a bionic hamster and a pterodactyl fighting in that treehouse!”

“Oh, please,” his mother scoffed. “How do you even know what that would sound like?”

The boy considered pointing out the CHOMPs, SQUEAKs, and SQUAAAWKs emanating from the tree in big blocky letters, but decided it wasn’t quite worth the trouble.

The doc ends with a reminder to not refer to Crackers with any pronouns until the two pets can understand each other. Also I was gonna title this after a Tony Orlando and Dawn song as foreshadowing, but I couldn’t choose one, so instead I went with this Spongebob song lol.

WIP #4: Untitled Tommy One-shot

The school’s been near bully-free ever since Treehouse Comix Inc. was formed. Tommy reflects on this from the safety of his locker. [Movie!Verse with a hint of Book 9. CW: discussion of bullying.]

A Kid I Never Named knocks on Tommy’s locker and offers to trade Pilkeymon. They have to be sneaky, because it’s the 90′s and they have to slip a Link Cable through the locker vents without being spotted.

As they trade, the other kid asks Tommy why he hides all the time. He explains that it’s a habit from when Kipper Krupp terrorized the halls. But Kipper left four years ago, and the legend of Wedgie Magee has kept other bullies at bay ever since; the other kid points this out and asks why he still hides. This led into “a somber discussion on adverse school experiences and the long-lasting coping mechanisms they cause” (exact words from the doc). Unfortunately 2017!me never wrote any dialogue, and I’m mad at her for that.

Trivia drop! I used the Pilkeymon joke a few times at @treehouseblogsinc, but it’s way older than that, and also not mine: Pilkey.com used to have a coloring game named Pilkeymon’s Paintbox. It even had art of Dav’s old spiky-haired avatar with Pikachu ears! There’s no trace of it on the Internet anymore, but I swear I’m not making this up.

I left a note here to add that Tommy has glow-in-the-dark stickers in his locker, which ended up in this headcanon dump. There’s also a list of last names I came up with for him but never chose between: Chambers, Lakatos (which I shared once here), and Lockenspiel. Right now I’m leaning towards the last one, it rolls nicely off the tongue.

Sadly, my own WIPs are a very sorry state of affairs and I only really have one Obikin WIP with whole written and unposted chapters. I hope to revisit it one day, when I have a lot more spare time and feel better about my writing (and about Obikin which is quite frankly just giving me the sads these days), but I thought I’d just directly post a summary and excerpt here in case it never sees the light of day.

Ishara: summary

An AU where Obi-Wan left the Jedi Order at 13 and followed a different path, eventually becoming an undercover agent for the Outer Rim Security Alliance. This brings him to Ishara: a planet which, until recently, was cut off from the rest of the galaxy, and where an atmospheric disturbance means most modern technology does not function. Members of the Isharan Royal family have become involved with slave traders in a crime syndicate, and Obi-Wan has been working to ingratiate himself with them, and, secretly, to take the entire ring down.

Meanwhile, Anakin, who is now 21, was brought to the Jedi by Qui-Gon, and has been training as a Padawan, but is desperately unhappy. 

When he reacts badly to the news of his mother’s death, Anakin is sent away to Ishara by the Jedi Council, on a sort of cultural exchange programme. There he meets Padmé, who is also part of the programme. Young, reckless, and desperate to prove himself, Anakin crosses paths with a man he thinks is his enemy, but turns out to be the mentor (and eventually, the lover) he’s been missing all this time. Obi-Wan is outraged and frustrated by this beautiful, idealistic man who puts his entire mission at risk. But once they start working together, he begins to regain the confidence he’d lost at 13, and finds the home he’d been searching for ever since.

This is the scene where Anakin and Obi-Wan (in disguise as Ben) meet for the first time.

Padmé has been on-planet for a couple of months, and has already picked up a decent amount of Isharan, together with basic etiquette, and who should - and should not - be relied upon, spoken to, and avoided. Anakin's first introduction to the Isharan Royal Family takes place at dinner on his first evening.

“It's harvest time, and the start of the hunting season,” Padmé tells him as they enter the hall and walk past tables laden with fruit, meat and decorated with the severed heads of numerous long-horned beasts that remind Anakin of Tatooine Jerba. The hall is filling rapidly with people and smells of sour sweat, beer and musky, drying blood.

“Queen Faeron will wish to greet you,” Padmé says as they take their places near the high table. “But don't address her directly. In fact the less you say the better.”

Then there is shouting above the clamour of the room, and everyone gets to their feet. The Royal party sweeps in, flanked by a dozen guards dressed in the same uniform as the soldiers who had escorted Anakin to the castle. The queen is tall, long, midnight-black hair streaked with grey, her only jewellery a striking pale blue stone worn on a pendant chain around her neck.

A tall, imposing figure of a man follows the queen. “He’s the Crown Prince,” Padmé says. “Vorad Issorad. Jovial when sober, violent when drunk. Which is often.”

Padmé indicates a man toward the back of the party, walking with a limp and the aid of a stick. “And that's his older brother, Raic. He would be heir to the throne if he'd not been injured in a hunting accident when he was an adolescent. The damage is permanent, and the Isharans would not tolerate that in a king.”

The banquet lasts for over two hours, and Anakin has to wait until the dishes have been cleared away before he's summoned to the royal table. Before he has a chance to ask, Padmé gets to her feet too. “Let me help.”

Anakin bows deeply before the queen, waiting to be spoken to, as Padmé had advised.

Vorad Issorad, seated to the queen's left, whispers something to her and then she turns her gaze on Anakin, smiling graciously, and she makes a short speech in the lilting Isharan dialect Anakin is only just beginning to recognise.

“She welcomes you and wishes you health, strength and good fortune,” Padmé says.

Anakin inclines his head, keeping his mouth firmly shut.

The queen says something else, and by the expectancy in her expression Anakin guesses it must be a question. He looks at Padmé.

“Um, she wants to know what your training will lead to. What job will you do?”

“Tell her I'll be a warrior. And a keeper of peace.”

Padmé relates it back and the queen replies and then laughs, all her companions laughing with her.

“She says you have it wrong. Warriors make war. Only the feeble keep peace.”

Vorad says something, and Padmé replies, causing the prince to laugh, flashing Anakin a mocking smile.

“Why do I get the impression that was directed at me?” Anakin murmurs.

“He asked for a demonstration of your swordsmanship. I told them Jedi use laser-swords so your arms are weak and I expect you could hardly lift their steel, even if you were brave enough to accept which would be unlikely since you are barely a child, not a proven warrior.”

Anakin stiffens. “I'm perfectly capable-”

“-of being slaughtered by an Isharan broadsword-wielding thug.” Padmé interrupts. “Save the bravado, it won't do you any favours here.”

Anakin becomes aware of the silence in the room, all eyes on him. “Tell them I accept.”

“I really don't think-”

“Then I'll tell them myself. It can't be hard to make them understand.” He begins to take a step forward.

Padmé puts a hand on his arm. “Okay, shut up.” She speaks again, directing her words at Vorad, who just shrugs. From the other side of the table, Raic Issorad says something, to which Vorad and the queen seem to reluctantly agree.

“So?”

“I said that it would bring great shame on the Jedi Order if you were slaughtered by an Isharan warrior on your first night here. Raic suggested you fight another offworlder, and they agreed.” She pats Anakin's arm. “Happy now? Just don't come to me crying when your wounds have gangrene.”

Servants push tables and benches to the side of the hall in order to make space for a decent fight. Anakin waits, hand lingering instinctively by his lightsaber hilt, even though here, it’s nothing but a useless lump of metal. 

He studies his prospective opponent.

The man, who had been seated next to Raic at the table, seems unremarkable. Medium height. Medium build. A certain lightness to his gait that betrays a good sense of balance. Otherwise, ordinary.

Twelve, maybe fifteen paces separate them. The man ignores him completely. Gaze fixed on the floor, his eyes are hidden from view. Dirty red-brown hair hangs down over his forehead. He scuffs the flagstones with the tip of his sword, fingers strangely pale and elegant against the hilt. Artist's fingers, Anakin thinks. Unsuited to such a vulgar weapon.

Thinking there is likely no harm in it, Anakin reaches out to him, carefully, with the Force, expecting to find another concoction of the shadows lurking around the room. Greed, lust, hunger, resentment.

Instead he finds... well... nothing.

Not the blank, smooth, empty, nothing of a Jedi accustomed to shielding, but a soupy grey fog of nothing, betraying not the slightest flicker of emotion behind. Anakin has witnessed natural shielding in non-Force-sensitives before, but never a case quite as effective as this.

In his surprise he lets his control slip for a moment and it's almost as if the other man notices, because he stills his movements and looks up, stopping Anakin's scrutiny with a piercing look and an arched eyebrow.

But that is as far as their conversation gets, because a second later the man's sword is flying through the air, straight towards his head.

I deal with a lot of chronic health issues, as does my family, but usually over the winter months I'm stuck indoors a lot and honestly it's easy for this ESFP extrovert to get fairly bummed - so having things to look forward this winter to stay connected with people and community is actually really helping curb the existential winter dread this year lol! So though this all may seem like a lot - it's all really helpful for me and I'm excited to write and read and play around in fandom spaces a lot over the winter 😊

Here’s the solution to too many wips:

There Are No WIPs

They’re done. You finished. Awesome job you have gained experience from the time you already put into them.

Work In Progress? No that’s just a completed rough sketch.

A rough sketch is a completed work; all you have to do is say “done!” and it becomes done.

Export it out and put it in whatever folder it fits.

It’s done! You did it! You can move on. Do you still want to finish? Don’t worry about it, it’s already finished. After the first mark on the page, all other marks become “polish”

Polish can take as long as you want and is completely optional. Like frosting a cake when actually sticking your hands into a freshly baked cake right out of the oven is a perfectly fine way to eat cake. It’s your cake, you baked it, you get to enjoy it. Maybe you can decide raw cake mix is a cake. BAM! It is! (don’t eat raw cake mix its bad for you but If It Wasn’t...)

Basically I got to be as fast and productive as I am by lying to myself.

And then you realize that it’s just switching to another definition.

Words are fake. Language is intent. Make it work for you. Make it bring you joy instead of stress.

Get rid of the rules you didn’t realize you had. Get rid of the shame that makes you assume you’re inadequate. Change the meaning of Adequate to one that actually helps you.

“It must be fully colored and shaded with clean lines or else it isn’t finished”

That’s a rule, not a law of the universe.

As artist, we break the rules invented by humans in the worlds we create.

Why would you let rules stop you here?

If you’re not working on a professional setting with clear cut rules to follow, than you’re working with your own rules.

And you get to decide what those are.

The quality isn’t the best possible, but hopefully you get the idea how things evolved... It’s made from “the preview pics” that I saved in this painting’s draft/wip folder whenever I took a break or wanted to compare/remember something special - and also so that I’d know where I left things and wouldn’t have to open the actual psd file every time, lol. To make the gif size smaller and to have it flow better (and be less eye-hurting), I left some of the frames out.

I admit it, it’s quite fascinating to watch now after everything :D *pats myself on the back*

So that the post doesn’t become too long on the dash, I put some additional notes under the cut, mainly about the refs and wips if you want to take a look! Please, do not repost elsewhere :)

(Btw, you can just read the bolded parts if you want a quick version or get tired of the rambling.)

I want to point out that the main work always happens underneath all kinds of adjustment layers because I like to test things a lot during the process before sticking on something if I don’t quite know yet what I want. Like the colour scheme or where the light comes (or if there are multiple light sources) or if something needs more contrast etc. So I paint with simpler colours first, but already have some ideas/adjustment layers over them, but hidden and waiting until the basics are done. Then I merge things and continue to paint with the “new” colour palette.

I also often test filters to have more texture or bring out some things better - or just to find something interesting to incorporate! Accented edges, crosshatch and watercolor are things that I often test in some way over my sketches and wips at some point when the basics are done or when I need/want some kind of further effect/texture or just something to knit them together better and for balance. And also just for fun!

Then I flatten the things I like (or I am “certain about” at that point) and continue painting over that ...aaaand end up testing something else, keep different versions or parts of things on separate layer groups (to compare or to bring back some earlier things that I liked or alternative lighting solution or object/body part placement, or...) and so on...seriously it’s always a mess controlled chaos! aahahahaha *face palm*

But mainly the things keep building on top of each other instead of having neat groups for sketch, lineart, colours, lighting etc. I mean, I always try to start with that but never have been able to actually keep it very long... And on the other hand I’m too nervous and indecisive to paint with only single layer/canvas from the beginning with (like a traditional painting would be painted). Or with just a few layers for background, character(s), effects on their own and so on... So I have this chaos that swirls towards that something that I had preplanned or wanted to achieve/practise until I’m happy with it.

ANYWAY, BACK TO THE ACTUAL ART :

The original “spark” for this work was Flint at the end of the episode 1 with his bloody face and white shirt, and that nice splash of light, which made me think about the aftermath and him cleaning himself in the privacy of his cabin with some nice morning light painting his beard fiery and him lost in thoughts :) At some point that made me think of Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec’s beautiful painting “The Laundress” which I have liked since I was a kid, so I started to steer towards it.

Some of the refs for the bowl and Flint. The angle/posture ended up being a bit different and I had more refs for Flint’s face and shirt and hand etc.

Some wips:

1) basically the idea and items that I wanted to include.

2) after a break (weeks? months?) and after I had searched some more references to help. The eyes were at this point (accidentally) absolutely awful so I censored them for the sake of my own peace of mind here, lol (not sorry!)

More wips along the way, although not much difference can be seen as the pics are quite small.. :

3) I mirrored/flipped the painting constantly, to see the mistakes and also because I couldn’t decide which way I wanted him to be! This stage was aaalmost ready but I got stuck and forgot let it be for several months doing other stuff again.

4) I continued it, fixed lots of things with fresh eyes and experimented more with lighting and texture but nothing too drastic stuck in the end. I have two monitors and either (or both...) are calibrated a bit off atm, so it was quite frustrating to navigate and to know which one had the right colours that I was after... and I still don’t know but it looks nice on both screens so  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯   At this stage things were basically nitpicking and a bit too much honing.

In the end I lost some of the things I actually liked more in the earlier versions (for example some had more of a dreamy feeling or better texture or more emotions/wearyness/anger showing that didn’t quite reach the end result again) and I overworked some other things, but nevertheless! I’m very pleased how this turned out! I reached the vision I wanted and learned a lot again :D

ahhhh ok so you picked some of them that will almost definitely never be finished (maybe i should move them out of my “wips” folder and into an “abandoned” folder of things i can recycle in the future...) but i’ll share some of what i have for each of them :D

ghosts at college - basically it’s a bunch of fluff where julie graduates high school and goes to college. there’s not a lot of plot, mostly it’s a few ideas tied together with fluff and one scene as well. anyway, julie lives in a dorm and her roommate, anna, slowly becomes aware that julie’s weird. weird things happen around her. sometimes anna overhears that she’s having conversations on her phone but when anna unlocks the door julie’s phone is on the table. reggie and alex are around sometimes but luke is there almost all the time. here’s an excerpt:

luke likes to spend all his time with julie even if they’re not interacting. he likes to be in the same room as her. he’ll be writing or humming or playing and she’ll be working on homework and only she can see and hear him but she’s got this little smile on her face

sometimes anna heard talking through the dorm room door but as soon as she starts unlocking the door the talking goes quiet

one time julie and luke are having an argument about something. anna thinks it’s a phone call with the elusive boyfriend and she either walks away to give privacy or she opens the door and sees julie facing away, red in the face, yelling at air, her phone on the desk.

band cuddle nights on julie’s bed while anna stays out late or after anna is in bed/asleep. julie laughs at stuff they say. they watch movies on julie’s laptop without headphones and it kind of annoys anna but she puts up with it

and then julie gets sick (not angsty sick fic sick, it’s fluffy hurt comfort sick) and luke cares for her. that’s when he and anna “meet” for the first time. i have other more general stuff that i might recycle for some other fluffy canonverse post-canon stuff, who knows.

Julie wants to see the world, because anywhere is better than down here. Her mother was everything to her, and her dad is kind and loving, but he keeps pressuring her to sing again and it’s too much. Julie just wants to be free from that pressure. She knows he does it because he loves her, but she doesn’t know if she’ll ever sing again.

Luke doesn’t want to get married. He shouldn’t have to, yet, he’s only 17 for God’s sake! He just wants to play music and spend time with his friends. But his parents want him to get ready to rule. His coronation isn’t until he’s 20, he has time, but he has much to learn bc he’s avoided it until now and 3 years isn’t much time to learn all it takes to be a king. Luke also wants to run away. He goes sailing alone, to try and go somewhere away, he doesn’t care anymore. He plays music to himself with his guitar.

Julie sees him while he’s out there. A storm rises which he wasn’t prepared for. His boat capsizes. She saves him and brings him to shore. Julie is curious about him, and now that she’s seen the land, she wants to go there. The land is somewhere where people aren’t pressuring her to sing. She’ll be free there.

Julie visits Caleb who will let her be human in exchange for her voice. He wants to use it at his club, the place she’s been warned never to go and where only crooked people are. But it’s actually a pretty cool place. This one guy, Willie, is really nice to her, but so are other people too. Julie makes the trade with Caleb, she won’t need her voice anyway.

She meets Luke’s friends on land. They introduce her to Luke. Julie’s never experienced her hair being so light and fluffy and bouncy before, it’s incredible. Julie sees Luke playing music with the boys. She at some point sees her “wake up’ song that Rose left for her and suddenly wants to sing again. But she can’t, because Caleb has her voice. Something something, jolts, something something 3 days to true love’s kiss?

lastly, spy!alex au - this was from a prompt that will sadly never be finished (sorry, tiger). the prompt was: spy au, childhood friends, “you had no idea, did you?” and i tried to combine those and make it willex but i had had nearly no experience writing jatp at that point and i also am more of a juke person than a willex person so the fic just wasn’t vibing. but here’s my back-of-the-napkin pitch for you, copy pasted directly from my doc, if you’re interested:

spy!alex finally cracks the case he's been working on for years: the hollywood ghost club. it's an elusive black market that deals in the worst of the worst but it always changes locations. the moment he thinks he's pinned it down, the whole operation disappears like a ghost. anyway, he finally catches the ringleader, the infamous caleb covington. willie, caleb's sort-of assistant and alex's something watches from the sidelines, having been tricked by caleb into thinking that they were just running a cool club.

thanks for the ask, vi! i appreciate it <3 these fics will probably never ever get written in full but they’re fun ideas and not every idea can turn into a masterpiece. sometimes an artist just needs to sketch and doodle instead, and that’s okay. but there’s value to recording and saving your sketches and doodles bc maybe one day you can recycle them into something greater, or you’ll come back to them and be inspired to continue them or to create something entirely new.

OKAY. THE TIME HAS COME FOR THIS POST TO BE MADE. Even if it will be just a bunch of projects and me talking about them, it’s something I’ve been willing to do since a lot of time, mostly for a bit of self-esteem and to let you know that I’m actually working on stuff.

Honestly, I could start with a list of all the reasons why I haven’t been posting much, but the main reasons are low self-esteem and little to no time to do my stuff. School has been killing me slowly in the latest times, so the main reason why I post so little it’s actually academic work, nothing more and nothing less. ... this being said, let’s begin from what is REALLY interesting. >:3c

Gastertale

First of all, YES, I’m still working on Gastertale! And I’m extremly sorry for the long gap between the pages: the next page IS done, I just need to add dialogues, but I still haven’t for the simple reason that I don’t want to publish it only to make you wait other three months for another page. Hopefully soon I’ll return to have a bit of time, and at this point I’ll make pages more often and way better. I’ve improved a lot in this months, and despite there will probably be a little gap of style too between one page and another, I think I’ll be able to give you something more! My objective when I’ll restart to post it is to make at least one page a week and give a bit of a regular schedule, but about regularity it’s something that we’ll have to see (again, academic work). But hey, at least I’ll try to make you wait less than three months for the next page! </3

Sonic Humanitymorph & Sonic Battle Remastered

Basically. I want to draw more Sonic, and I want to draw him with a purpose. It’s... kind of a long story, but I’ll make it short for you because I don’t want to annoy you with melancholic and dramatic stuff (?). In a few words, I want to build new memories with Sonic and company, since my first memories are... kind of lost. I literally grew up with him, yet I remember little to nothing about his stories and about me in that period, and it’s something that makes me suffer a bit. SO! I’d really love to build new memories and honour a hero I’m really fond to, and I’d love to make this with you all! Since I also noticed that you really like my human!Sonic characters, so-! /)u(\

So, basically, the ideas are: MORE human characters. I still have your suggestions, I simply didn’t have the time to think about them, but I will surely do it! I’d love to make a lot more of the characters, if not all of them! And together with it, also another thing inspired by @slightly-gay-pogohammer‘s adaptation of Rayman “I’m Only Human”, which consist in adaptations of some of my favourite Sonic’s games, but in human form. And with some basic differences of course. I’m already working on it - my idea is of comics (as you could imagine, since I’m writing this on my art blog) but with a “much faster” style that will let me publish pages with a pretty fast rate (gotta go fast). Basically, sketches, and my sketches are very clean so the result should be pretty good. I’m working on Sonic Battle (which name will be Sonic Battle Remastered), which... SOMEHOW is still one of my favourite games of ALL TIMES, but in the list there’s also Sonic Riders Zero Gravity. And for the otheeerrrssss... well. I’m open to suggestions? :3

Rick I-T2B2, my personal interpretation of Rick Sanchez. WELP, I made him with a story in mind - and I actually thought of this verse’s versions of Morty, Summer, Jerry and Beth, even if I still haven’t drwan them because, again, freaking academic work. I’m tired, guys. What I have in mind with them is telling the story via comics, but in a slightly different way. I have little images with them, nothing that can be considered a full episode “worth” of a classic comic adaptation, that I think would be pretty cool if done in the simplest way, like a series of images without the need of making a full page. ... I’m not sure if I explained myself correctly, but in two word: SIMPLER STUFF. I’d love to make them, mostly because it’s a little and fun way of exploring this verse and its dinamics more than with just drawings of the characters. After all, I do want to tell you stories, and I should start to actually do it FOR GOOD, even in the simplest of ways! ... despite... yes, I actually have a more complex comic with Rick I-T2B2, about the “origin” of the condition of him and Morty (and by reflection of the whole family). So I think you can expect something bigger here too, despite it will be a MUCH shorter comic!

DEPONIA LIKE THERE’S NO TOMORROW

[FINGERGUNS] LET’S TALK ABOUT DEPONIA. First objective: actually finish the games. I have them since... a lot, and I still haven’t finished them for-- well, you know by now. An objective is surely to finally play the last two chapters and cry my eyes out, but we’re here for art, so here’s my project with Deponia:

first, drawing it more. Like... a lot more. I have many little ideas for illustrations and many others for little sequences that I think are pretty funny that I’d LOVE to do. I just need to DO THEM. Also, I have a whole lyricstuck in my mind with the Deponia series, and I’d love to make it! Or at least try, I’m not used to lyricstuck. But they’re so good,, Then, I have two projects comic related: one is... little stories. Pretty much it. Something probably of no more than five-ten pages long per story, little missing moments that might be interesting. And angsty, maybe, probably, I’m not sure. The other is... adaptation. Yes, at this point you might have noticed that I love adaptations. It’s just a little idea, but I’ve always found (probably because I’m a comic artist tbh) that the Deponia games would be... really good in comic format. And mostly for training I thought, “hey, I might try some!”. An idea would be of making the whole series as a comic, but I’m not really sure I can do it - but I’m pretty sure I can make little parts of it! It’s a project I had in mind for quite some months by now, and I remembered about it some days ago since I was looking in my folders and...

a WIP was found. Ten points and a biscuit to whoever guesses the scene. This will probably be mostly training, unless things change or something very cool happens. I lowkey dream sometimes that they’ll hire me, but. It’s just a dream. On the other hand, I might open suggestions for scenes to adapt in the games! uvu ... when I’ll finish the games.

I have no idea of when I might make these, but will probably be sketchy, pencil stuff, and I will enjoy every moment of them. Boy, I love these characters. I want to tell stories with them,

I HAVE. A STORY IN MIND. And it will be long, angsty, harsh and tragic probably. I don’t have any WIP nor I can tell many details at the moment because,, I guess it would be spoiler? But, it will be an experiment and something that it’ll be interesting for me to try! All that is needed to understand is,, when I’ll be able to make it, honestly-

Because I realized I often post sketches, but not actual references of my OCs. I mean fullbodies fully coloured, with palettes and objects and STUFF. It will be a pretty funny thing for me to do, because the versions I’ll give you of my OCs will be slightly different from the “final” version I’ll show you when I’ll be able to tell you their story - because YUP, I’m working on those too, but for now it’s still a very big work in progress, so I’m still not ready to show you stuff. ;3c But basically, an objective of mine is references. Make those darn characters references with nice palettes and cool stuff, so that you’ll actually have,, at least some more infos than a black and white sketch. ... and a good reference in case you want to draw them? I don’t know just,, dreaming a little bit,, I’ll make the references for the OCs I’ve published (so most probably the ones I’ve put and will put more on @mcmentics, because I’ll surely add someone else in there soon), and after making Leda’s reference sheet (because Gio requested him to be the first >:3c) I might put it “to the vote” to decide in which order make all the others. <3 ... or simply go and make them all with the order I want. I don’t know. Let’s see what the future will offer us. <3

But, another project is surely to livestream more! 1. Favouritemedium or technique?I like both digital and traditional. Honestly, I am not very good attraditional art since it does not allow you to make all those mistakes andadjustments digital does but I really enjoy it, especially little randomdoodles or watercolours. Occasionally I just draw something in digital, printit and then trace it onto paper so I could watercolour it later. I will workhard on my skills in both fields but for now, I prefer digital sketching andlineart (I utterly despise colouring in digital, haha).  

2. Doyou have a specific place you like to create at?I usually just draw at home because it’s the most comfortable way for meto do it.

3. Doyou value quality or quantity more?Quality, 100 %. I am always envious of other artists who can produce alot of art pieces very quickly but that comes with practice I think. I mightget to that point sometime in the future as well but for now I like to take mytime (please read as WAY TOO MUCH TIME) with my creations and work on themuntil I am at least somewhat satisfied with them. That’s basically why I createlike… a single picture a year, ugh.

4. Whatwould you consider the best approach towards improvement?Definitely inspiration, be it from others, music or whatever you findinspiring. Never ever treat other artists as threats or anything in that tonebut rather as an inspiration and try your best to learn from them and theirtechniques. For example livestreams or speedpaintings are a great way ofstudying someone else’s working process. Something that really helps me as well is constantly trying out new things, beit new brushes, colours or techniques. Always try to push yourself a bitfurther with each piece – try something you haven’t done before. A lot ofpeople tell you to draw every day which is wonderful, yes, but very tiring aswell, so don’t be afraid to take breaks. Honestly, I don’t draw every singleday, usually I make a veeeeeeeery long pauses between my drawing sessions andthat is alright, too, I still notice a certain degree of progress. Art is notsupposed to be forced, it’s predominantly supposed to be fun. Pauses can behelpful, too, of course. They can help you notice those little mistakes youmake in your pieces and allow you to fix them. Don’t worry about not having a particulardistinctive style or anything, that all will come eventually, just don’t loseyourself to the machine of constantly produced content – take your time and trynew things every change you get.  

5. Doyou ever feel pressured to create?Oh heck yes and it really flippin’ sucks. However, it’s not like… fromthe outside but more of an inside process I guess? But honestly, if you feelpressured to create, just take a break from it because that is definitely notgood for any sides – you, your work, your health or your followers/fans.

6. Doyou have a specific time your creative side is the most prominent?Not personally I think? It really depends but occasionally I can stay upuntil ungodly hours drawing which feels really good, to be honest.

7. Asmall sketchbook or a big canvas?I actually prefer small sketchbooks when drawing traditional. Big canvasesmake me quite overwhelmed in real life but when drawing digital, my canvasesare usually A4 or A3 format (so it would look pretty if printed, hehe).

8. Doyou ever feel like giving up? What do you do to fight this feeling?Way too often, actually. I get very envious when it comes to otherartists but not in a vile way, I am very happy for them and thankful forsharing their gorgeous creations and I like to let them know but I envy theirenergy and creativeness and it really beats me to the ground sometimes. I don’tfind myself or my work unique in any way and therefore I don’t even share mydrawings online anymore, I just create for myself or my own enjoyment, althoughoccasionally I would really love to show them off and probably embarrass myselfimmensely, hah. However, the other day I was going through my art folder withall the WIPs and I went through some serious emo hours so…  I guess that’s what keeps me going – the sheerlove for the craft and creating new things. Hey, maybe one day I’ll be braveenough to show my work off again, who really knows.    

9. Doyou enjoy sharing your ideas with others?Yes, I really do and I do that WAY TOO MUCH to the point I start hatingthe idea and never progress with it… basically. Sigh.

10. Howdoes the treatment of artists make you feel?Upset, usually. I mean it depends on the point of view. Some people arereally nice and kind and some are just a fucking pain the in the ass, to be honest.Recently I’ve noticed how entitled some consumers of artwork feel and literallybully artists when they do not provide the desired content and that’s… prettyhorrifying. I’ve witnessed way too many artist close their accounts due toexcessive bullying and that makes me incredibly sad. I honestly feel like weshould be grateful that they even feel like sharing their work with us for free.Also, if you don’t like something or don’t agree with it, there is always ablock or mute button somewhere. That’s the magic of the internet, for some areally hard concept to grasp as I’ve noticed.Oh and also commissions. A lot of people tend to say they are overpricedbut never really care to consider all the time and effort an artist has to putinto the piece. Just… stop, please. And on the other hand, if you feel like theartist is undercharging, feel free to tip them.  

11. Doyou think art has the potential to change the world?You see, I am a big fan of the Korean group BTS and they just finishedtheir series called Love Yourself which carried an incredibly sweet andimportant message, making millions of people around the world truly see thepositives and love within themselves, so yeah, I really think so. We consumeart every single day in any shape or form you can think of so if the medium is usedin the right way, it has the potential to do great things. Sadly, art is used tohurt, too, but as long as your intentions are kind, don’t be afraid toparticipate as well and make the world a better place for everyone.
