Rindou & Ran Haitani |-° being your best friend's

• being best friends with the Haitani brothers means no one will attempt to bother you. They're basically your protectors/ escape card in almost any situation involving another person

• encourages you to ditch class and roam around the hallways and other places that they had discovered on school grounds

• in some classes ran is forced to sit at the front of the class because of his poor eye sight, other times he has to peek over your desk to copy down what's on the board

• being best friends with the Haitians means constant trips to detention and constant complaints by the teachers cause of skipping detention.

- if something is done behind the teachers back and no one snitches, the teach immediately assumes that it's one of you three even despite trying your best to prove that it wasn't. half of the time y'all are framed

• the Haitians are actually pretty educated, majority of the times their calm in class and it's just that their gang fame and title that always makes them be perceived as a stereotypical 'delinquent that doesn't do well in school'

• rindou somehow always knows the drama that goes on between everyone, every week he always has something new to add on to the previous information that he had gotten or something completely different about a person that you wouldn't expect

• friendly banter but also be prepared to somehow get humiliated either way

• Rindou secretly keeps one earbud in his ear in lessons to listen to music. he has his wired earphones inside of his sleeve and his hand against his face where he then hides the earbud under his hand/hair

• notes will be thrown onto your desk in the middle of class, thinking that something would be written in it you'd open it but instead there's just a childish drawing of you that ran did whilst he was bored

• you have a crush on someone in school? don't worry cause you have ran and rindou to either help you with getting close to your crush or completely ruining it.

• despite ran being practically engaged to his bed and always sleeping- he still complains how tired he is in the mornings and trust, that guy is not a morning person so he gets pissed off at the loud annoying kids that are already running in the halls.

- ran is a fast paced guy whereas Rindou likes to take his time with romance, so asking ran for advice he'd probably tell you to immediately ask them out. but with Rindou he'd tell you to do something that's easier said than done "just talk to them"

- whereas for Rindou despite him being sleep deprived from his lack of sleep routine, he complains the least in the mornings and just goes along with the mornings. though the darkness under his eyes are certainly there under some bright light

• due to the Haitians being popular among the people, there's definitely some thirsty people for them. meaning you'd hear many different stories on how obsessive someone got, how they broke someone's heart, and how much privilege they get. sometimes you even get to read confession letter before they do.

- but cause of your connection to them, you'd be asked favours for other people in terms of "can you tell rindou/ran..." "does rindou/ran...?" "do you know if he...?" ect.

• they always got some sort of insult to say about the teacher, but it's okay cause no one likes them. their insults are pretty creative too, makes you not want to know what they'd say about you if y'all never got along

• ran sometimes purposely 'forgets' his money/food just to steal you's and rindou's lunches instead

• the threatening jokes about telling everyone an embarrassing story about either of you circles around you three on a weekly baisis

• you had a failed relationship? your ex will definitely wish they had done better. it may seem like a good thing but anyone inside of the school that knows your friendly relationship with the haitani brothers; it'll cause some people to avoid you and not in a good way, guess thats a downside.

• the best way to get rindou annoyed immediately would be if you get his glasses dirty by simply pressing your finger print against the lens. its better when he's not wearing them cause it's be easier to smudge them due to him having good reflexes when it comes to people getting too close to him

• little play fights here and there in the hallway that makes the three of you to dash it down the halls and get complaints from the teachers from how loud your echoed running is. it's not often, but when it happens it's hilarious and it usually starts off with some teasing.

• if you're not smart in a subject that they're smart in then be prepared to be teased whilst you copy down their answers of the work you didn't do, cause of their comments you gotta concentrate real hard and ignore their comments to copy the work down, but then one of them would playfully move their book/page across to irritate you

• their handwriting fluctuates a lot in school, sometimes you gotta ask what kind of curse are they trying to write down in their note book. but outside of school where they're not rushed or bored out of their mind- it's pretty neat

• sometimes fights break out between the Haitani brothers and some other delinquents trying to aim for the top, meaning your either pulled/pushed away from the scene or you manage to join in but that's only if it's in a large amount (2 Vs 20) but if it's a small amount (2 Vs 5) then itd be over within a minute and yall go back to doing whatever you were doing before

- it sometimes does ruin some plans that you guys have made causing some shared complaints and irritation

Amy's fortune cards

The Sonic fandom has long been the kind of fandom that takes minor details very seriously, for better or worse. On the one hand, this means fans will really dig for the diamonds in the rough, latching onto fun character interactions, animations, bits of background worldbuilding, and more in pieces of Sonic media that many would write off as "the bad ones." But it also feels like every week another needlessly hostile debate over Sonic minutia erupts on Twitter, whether it's over individual lines of dialogue, fanart that makes Tails' shoes blue, or the ideal length and volume for Sonic's quills.

So it was probably inevitable that a fandom-wide debate would erupt upon seeing Amy's new gameplay style in the DLC for Sonic Frontiers, which takes the once-obscure fact that she enjoys reading tarot and shines a spotlight on it like never before.

I mean:

The thing is, while I basically always try to tune out Sonic fandom bickering... for once, I kind of sympathize with the detractors? Don't get me wrong, I like Amy's tarot stuff, and people on all sides of the discussion are being overly nasty about their opinions, as usual. (Sonic Twitter remains my personal hell.) But when I set aside the hyperbole and zoom out, I do think I understand why some fans are put off by the sudden shift in focus for the character, even if I think it's cool.

It's complicated. Let me attempt to present the cases for and against Amy's fortune cards

For years, I was always one of those fans who thought it could be fun if they played with Amy's tarot reading, or even leaned into some kind of magic with her. Part of that is my own biases showing, but there's just something that makes sense there, especially when you look at Sonic, Tails, and Amy as a trio. (I would argue that's the real "Team Sonic" these days, especially in the comics where Knuckles is more likely to be stuck on Angel Island or otherwise doing his own thing.)

You could argue that Tails is all about logic, relying on science and technology and deductive reasoning to solve problems. But Amy is all about emotion. She wears her heart on her sleeve, is extremely empathetic, and is very prone to magical thinking - both figuratively and sometimes literally. Her origin story has always been that her tarot cards told her it was her destiny to meet Sonic on Little Planet. She's claimed to be able to "sense" peoples' presences - particularly Sonic's. She's the type to believe that The Power of Love is a literal magical force. So, on some level, it makes sense to mirror Tails's science by having Sonic's other best friend believe in magic. And then Sonic is somewhere in the middle, primarily following his own gut instincts but taking advice from both of them as needed. This isn't totally accurate to how their dynamics actually function in canon stories, but I think it's a mode that could work for them.

Going off of that, it's fun to lean all the way into Amy being a magical girl, or even a witch, using her fortune telling as a foundation. Take, for example, this version of Amy from Diana Skelly's old Sonic cast redesigns from before she freelanced for Archie and IDW. This is one of MANY such redesigns for Amy.

Fast forward to the 2020s, and Amy's tarot cards are, in fact, finally getting brought up again in canon. Which is fun! I like seeing that. I like all of the individual stories involving Amy's fortune cards. This is a fun character trait for Amy, a fun nod to old lore, AND a fun storytelling device, all in one. It's really cool that the Sonic universe has its own thematically appropriate arcana, and that the cards are getting made as physical merch. And sure enough, the official card backs and borders were designed by none other than Diana Skelly, in yet another cool example of an ascendant fan leaving their mark on the series.

BUT... when you step back and look at the big picture, I get why some fans find this shift in focus jarring. At the moment, it's starting to feel like every new story about Amy involves her fortune cards to some degree.

The most recent mainline comic arc to feature Amy as the lead character, 2021's Trial by Fire arc, prominently features a sequence where she reads fortunes while camping with the girls. The Origins version of Sonic CD now bookends the game with scenes of Amy and her tarot cards. Sonic randomly mentioned it in a scene in Frontiers. And now, just this week, we got the (very cute, gorgeously illustrated) Amy's 30th Anniversary comic with a story revolving around Amy's tarot cards, followed the very next day by the Frontiers DLC in which she gets a brand new tarot-based moveset. Even her base melee attack now has her throwing tarot cards instead of swinging her hammer. Again, I like all of these individual things, but after years of it almost never coming up at all, it's VERY noticeable that Amy's tarot cards are suddenly everywhere.

To be fair, I'm looking at this from the perspective of a superfan who's actively following ALL Sonic media. Casual fans - especially kids - aren't necessarily going to be reading the comics every month, buying the thousandth rerelease of the Genesis games, or playing the ultra-hard new alternate ending DLC for a game that came out last year. Each of these stories is going to be someone's introduction to the idea that Amy can read tarot, and that's probably part of the idea behind this unified push.

But to play devil's advocate, for my fellow superfans, I understand why it feels like a very minor footnote of Amy's character is suddenly becoming the entire focus of her personality. While Amy has always been said to enjoy fortune telling, that wasn't really a character trait in and of itself, but rather an example of her being a typical girl who hopes she'll be able to find true love one day. It's less that Amy can literally predict the future and more like her using a cootie catcher or going "he loves me, he loves me not" while picking the petals off of a flower. So I get not vibing with this stuff, or feeling like it's being pushed very hard out of nowhere.

What I don't agree with are comparisons like "it's like if they made Knuckles' moveset revolve around him liking grapes." Like, I get it. Ian Flynn loves shoehorning in his little winking references for us nerds, and mentions of Amy's tarot cards were previously on the same level as other random bullet points from old Japanese manuals. But a multifaceted hobby like fortune telling that opens up so many narrative and aesthetic possibilities is obviously very different from having a favorite food. It's ALWAYS been a part of her story, not just a random fact, and there's no reason why the fortune telling can't be elevated to something more.

And, hell, even if it wasn't an established character trait, there's nothing inherently wrong with injecting new ideas into a character. One of the best Amy stories in recent years, the Free Comic Book Day special "Amy's New Hobby" written by Gale Galligan, came up with the idea that Amy's secretly been drawing little comics about her and her friends. Is this based on Lore? No. But it's cute, and helps tell the story of a younger Amy who's still coming out of her shell as both a hero and a friend.

Certain fans are also looking at Amy's Frontiers moveset and using it as evidence that once again the Vile American Contributors like Ian are CORRUPTING Sonic Team's perfect vision of Sonic with their misinterpretations. And like. Come on. Ian does not control the gameplay. He's a freelance writer. The tarot stuff is clearly something that Sonic Team likes if they made it the basis of Amy's new moveset - and, you know, if they keep approving comics and animations about Amy's fortune telling. None of this gets made without their blessing, and lord knows how much they can micromanage shit and shoot down ideas over the most minor of details.

Like, yeah, Amy's fortune telling was probably conceived less as a sign that she Knows Magic and more as a pretty mundane hobby for a lovesick young Japanese girl to have. But you're gonna sit there and tell me that using Amy's tarot cards for more than that could only be the result of a cultural misunderstanding? That nobody in Japan uses tarot card theming and aesthetics (or the general idea of magical cards) for the cool factor? Stardust Crusaders? Persona? The Astrologian class in FFXIV? Cardcaptor Sakura?? Hello??? Do you think Capcom put Gambit in Marvel vs. Capcom ironically because they thought using magic to throw cards at people was stupid? There's tons of precedent for this! It's nothing like Knuckles throwing grapes at people, be for real.

Giving Amy a very magical girl-esque moveset also just makes a lot of sense. For decades her hammer attacks have literally made sparkly heart shapes appear around her. Leaning into both that and her tarot cards in her new moveset makes a lot of sense to me.

But, admittedly... I do think it's very odd that her hammer is treated as a secondary element here, rather than having her primarily use her hammer and adding the cards for extra flair. If hitting the attack button made her swing her hammer instead of throwing cards, I'm not sure we'd even be having this discussion right now.

But the tarot-cycle and Amy riding her hammer like a witch's broom are fucking SICK and I will not concede on this point

The thing is, this whole fortune card discourse is but a small piece of a bigger problem. Amy's been a character who needed some work for ages, but there's basically nothing you can do with her without pissing SOMEONE off.

Years of stories where Amy's crush was her primary motivator and Sonic went "Ew, cooties!" have lead many casual fans to believe that being Sonic's obsessive fangirl is Amy's entire personality. At best people might call her Sonic's Minnie Mouse. This isn't just a matter of Amy having haters within the fandom - venture outside of that bubble and you'll realize that this is how MOST video game playing people seem to see her to this day. I don't feel like this is a fair assessment of the character, but this idea didn't come from nowhere. No matter how much good deeply entrenched Sonic fans may see in their old dynamic where Amy perpetually chases Sonic, this is a very real problem that Sonic Team has to contend with for their leading girl. Of course all those games where the way-past-cool protagonist thought Amy was annoyingly clingy and tried to get away from her made people think less of her.

If new stories were to go back to emphasizing Amy's crush on Sonic a little more, they'd probably be taken as confirmation that Amy's just the girl with a crush on Sonic and that this is her entire personality. Conversely, when the crush is played down, you piss off the hardcore SonAmy fans who don't seem to understand that they're Charlie Brown and Sega is Lucy holding the football. You can't win.

And so here we are. In the absence of what was once her defining trait, now reduced to an occasional blush or wink in Sonic's direction, new stories are trying to mine Amy's past for additional material to work with. Having been a thing fans wanted to see for years, right now we're getting a lot of tarot, but we're also getting reminders of her compassionate nature and her desire to go out of her way to help the little guy. This is an ongoing process. I continue to hope that her bubbly, exuberant demeanor can shine more in future stories. Now, I also hope that the tarot stuff gets balanced out a little better with other traits of hers. But I don't want it to go away. I think it's fun.

This course correcting is far from exclusive to Amy. Knuckles is getting stories that remind us that he's a competent fighter, an experienced treasure hunter, and even a self-taught archaeologist after years of him being perceived as either the dumb one or just the guy who stands in front of the Master Emerald all day. And Tails has been getting some stories reminding folks that he's a capable hero in his own right and not just Sonic's timid kid sidekick.

But no supporting character will ever compete with the sheer number of new ideas Sega has tried with Sonic himself. Like Amy, his Frontiers moveset has also given him half a dozen new superpowers that he never had before, from the Cyloop to air-slicing projectile attacks to his own take on Shadow Clone Jutsu and beyond. He's also been a hoverboarder, a swordsman, a time traveler, an Olympic athlete, a racecar driver, cursed with a Flame of Judgment, imbued with alien power, a fucking Werehog with stretchy powers, and on and on and on.

If Sonic can do all that, Amy can try out using a tarot-cycle.

Anyway TL;DR the REAL problem with Amy's current characterization... is where the FUCK is Amy's bestie, Honey the Cat???????

He's one of the best skeletons to date on the multiverse, lives in the omega timeline, is funny, treats you like you're the most important person who ever existed for him, now that I think about it you're kinda lucky traveler.

Talking about memes, he lags your phone with how much he sends you, Epic does not have pity on your poor phone.

He's the type of guy who the moment you ask for attention, he's cuddling you in the couch while a movie's playing on the TV.

Epic surprisingly knows more about the multiverse than how to cook. He managed to burn pasta. PASTA.

Grabs random cats from the street and adopts them, y'all have like 6 cats now, and one is named oi oi oi... Please stop your man traveler...

Makes you laugh on every opportunity he gets, especially when you're feeling down.

Takes you out to outertale pretty regularly, and every time he points at the brightest star he sees and says "Look at it darling! It's ya!"

Cross

Sometimes Killer teases you asking if you got yourself a boyfriend or a dog.

This is because Cross kinda acts like a guard dog, he's big and he can be scary when he wants to, plus, he works with Nightmare! What if someone tries to take you hostage? He can't let that happen can he?

I am aware that in canon Cross isn't part of the bad Sanses and all, but in this version he works with Nightmare destroying and terrorizing worlds to reconstruct his own.

You're definitely not living in the omega timeline, you're living on his unfinished AU instead!

He's used to waking up early, 6 am maximum, so when he sees your cute sleeping face laying next to him, he just can't let himself get up without filling your face with kisses.

Chara teases him for being such a softie around you.

Cross loves sleepy cuddles in the morning, especially when you're burying your head on his chest while murmuring for him to get back to sleep.

When he gets back from a long mission he usually brings you small gifts he thinks you'd like.

How about an S/O who has been friends with the skeletons since the beginning, the first and longest friendship they ever had?

They're the most trustworthy confidant they can rely on, their ride-or-die, partner in crime, platonic soulmates if you will. Even calling out the skeletons bullshit, giving them advice, and telling them what they need to hear.

They have been there through the good and bad, been by their side at their best and at their worst.

Like I imagine they've been there long enough to be considered as one of their own and it's completely natural since they're used to being in each other's lives. They probably don't even remember when they first met.

Even if S/O were pushed away, got into a bad argument with them, or something along those lines, they're always there when the skeletons needed them the most, setting aside their issues to support the skeletons. If they ask, they'll deliver. Begrudgingly or not.

S/O promised themselves.

It's also surprising to some that they haven't dated sooner, or surprising to know they aren't already dating with how they act around each other.

They hadn't considered it until it was brought up, specifically rumors of them dating. Usually they brushed it off back then, in denial of having any intention of dating before both actually caught feelings.

That undescribable feeling they had for each other was love and hadn't realized it because being in love with them was as natural as breathing.

One thing is for sure though...

S/O and the skelly will stay together in the beginning to the end, always and forever.

Sans: it’s because of how close this friendship is that sans took so long to confess. Truthfully he’s known for years now that he was head over heels for his bestie. It’s the fear of changing a good thing that has held him back from confessing. And the lack of reaction from his friend over anything romantic. Sans knows them well, he can read their expressions like a book, so for years he thought they felt nothing but platonic love for him. It’s when they start acknowledging the comments from others that he finally pulls himself together.

Papyrus: when undyne first points out to papyrus that him and his best friend act like a married couple, it’s then that he realizes, oh sh*t I’m in love with my bestie, and oh sh*t- I should be romancing them!!! That same day papyrus turns up on their porch with a huge bouquet of flowers and a declaration of his undying love for them. He has zero fears about them not feeling the same. He just knows they’re practically soulmates!

Star: the main reason he never confessed: he genuinely thought best friend and honey had a thing going. His brother is a cuddly guy, and bestie has practically been family for ages. So honey is extra snuggly with them. Star has had quite the self control these past years letting his brother take his “relationship” at his own pace. It’s only until honey asks star how he hasn’t just married bestie by now that start realizes his mistake lol

Honey: him and best friend might as well be a married couple. They practically live together at this point, they have “sleepovers” (aka snuggle nights) all the time, they hold hands sometimes, so they don’t loose each other of course ;). Heck honey even makes his bestie lunches when they go to work with cute little notes inside most days. It’s not until his bestie friend shyly asks if they’re dating that honey realizes he’s fallen head over heels. He’s just gotten so used to the domesticity of it all.

Red: he will never confess. Red has known since the first couple months he’s known friend that he’s in love. But red is a coward, so he will never make the first move. And red is so good at hiding his feelings that even his own brother just thinks he’s aromantic or something. Red has “never” shown any sort of romantic interest in someone after all. If they end up together, it’s because bestie confessed first

Edge: he’s pretty in tune with his own feelings, and edge doesn’t grow close to others easily. The second his friend starts putting butterflies in his stomach, he’ll know. And edge is not an idle monster. He starts planning immediately the best way to romance his friend. After all, if he’s gonna be their knight in shining armor, he has to do it with class and pizazz~

Mal: knowing mal, being this close with someone means he’s always up in their business. And mal is an open book. He doesn’t mind touchiness or feelings. He’s a rather physical monster at times too, so it’s likely he and bestie are basically living together and are probably in a fwb situation before mal realizes his feelings. He’ll casually mention one day that they might as well be official since he’s grown so “ATTACHED TO MY FAVORITE PARTNER IN CRIME”~

Cash: it’s when he starts getting jealous over others giving his friend attention that he realizes he’s caught feelings. That and mal hitting him over the head telling him to get it together lol. First cash has to apologize for the drama he started, then he immediately confesses to his friend in the most problematic way. He kisses them without warning after his apology lol

Oak/Willow: I put these two together because first, they have very similar tastes, second if someone is that close with one, they’ll be equally close with the other. And lastly, oak and willow are the most likely in all the skeleton lineup to wind up sharing a partner. It’s actually the ideal relationship setup for them. So oak and willow will both wind up falling for this particular bestie. Oak is the first to confess of course, and in his confession, he accidentally gives willow away. “Oh and my brother is in love with you too- sh*t I wasn’t supposed to say that-“. lol thankfully I’m sure bestie will sort things out

Undertale Sans - Well that's a good thing because he's a mass plant murderer. You're balancing each other lol. Every plant someone trusted Sans with ended up dying a horrible death somehow, so you're kinda saving the day by somehow reviving them. He doesn't understand how you're doing this. He swears he tried a ton of things and nothing worked. Ok, maybe most of the time he remembers he had to take care of the plant after two weeks to two months, but still.

Undertale Papyrus - He's good with flowers but he's a bit bored with the classic species. He wants cool-looking flowers and you're here to help. After two months, plants turned into a hyperfixation for Papyrus and you're living in a jungle, congratulations.

Underswap Sans - He thinks plants are boring honestly. It does nothing, it doesn't last long either, and it takes so much energy to take care of for only a few days of nice-looking moments. That's your thing, and it will say your thing. He's not patient enough for this.

Underswap Papyrus - Mr "I'm-allergic-to-everything" is not making the task easy for you lol. You're struggling to find plants and flowers that don't make him sneeze all day long. But it's a little victory every time you find something that he tolerates. Honey loves to help. Well, he loves to be included in everything his S/O is doing, but taking care of plants actually makes his anxiety shut up so he's always happy to help a bit.

Underfell Sans - He's doing his best to help but somehow he makes things worse every time he's helping. Like that time he watered your plants with gasoil and only noticed avec the twentieth flower :') He's not doing it on purpose, he's just terrible with plants.

Underfell Papyrus - You two are fighting on which plants to keep inside the house. Edge actually loves plants too, but he loves plants you hate... And you love plants he hates. He waits for you to leave the house to replace the plants, and you're doing the same. It's an eternal war. Maybe someday you'll find one you can agree on.

Horrortale Sans - He actually learns with you. At first, he doesn't show that much interest, but the more you do, the more you notice him staring behind your back. He's a bit clumsy and forgets half of the things he has to do, but it actually keeps him occupied. It actually helps his memory too since he has to water the plant every day, which is training his memory. He thinks it's a really relaxing activity and he would love to do it more often with you.

Horrortale Papyrus - He doesn't have that much of an interest in plants, but he's curious about what his S/O is doing and he's always happy to help if he can. He gladly appreciates your advice on his vegetables though. He had some difficulties growing them in the beginning but you showed him how to improve his fields and he's delighted with the result!

Swapfell Sans - He doesn't have any interest in the activity, but he likes having plants around. It makes his house look even more expensive and he's a material girl so he's really happy. You pretend like you don't see his black-and-white edge lord photos on social media next to your plants lol.

Swapfell Papyrus - I mean, you can do what you want but... Do you really want to have plants in a secluded area where Rus lives? Your plants are living in fear, never knowing if they're going to see the next day. That guy has no limits and can accidentally set the house on fire at least once a week. He's dangerous to all living things, please reconsider.

Fellswap Gold Sans - Wine surprisingly likes to take care of plants too. It was a true shock the first time you discovered that because that skeleton usually hates more things than he likes some. Of course, he will never say it out loud, or show he likes it. But you can sometimes catch him watering the flowers or cutting some disgracious leaves from your plants. He gives you the "what are you even looking at?" kind of look every time you see him though lol.

Fellswap Gold Papyrus - He saw you cut leaves and he wanted to help! So he cut leaves on all your plants. And by that I mean he cut 75% of each of your plants. When he sees your face, he goes from very proud to kicked puppy in three seconds. Maybe it's best if Coffee stays away from your plants from now on.

years ago i joined the undertale au fandom. I liked it there. the silly skellies are funny, i love reading your comics and other people's arts !

But.

This changed. When i got to know about the... ships.

There are a few ships i heavily dislike. I'm going to be honest here. They are UTTERLY DISGUSTING. I see two people getting shipped who NEVER met before or don't match at all! Or they are siblings......

I find this ridiculous. Why do theese ideas even exist ?

I don't feel safe anymore, no matter where i go in here, because i see theese things EVERYWHERE. LITERALLY EVERYWHERE. IM TIRED.

For example. I saw someone making a dreammare comic.. where they call each other 'brother ' while KISSING. WHY.

I know im not the only one feeling this way. I know other people feeling like leaving the fandom behind, not only because of the fandom itself, but also because of the careless acts of the creators themselves. People are using theese amaizing characters for horrible things.

Went Gym. Another short day but turns out 2 days in a row = struggle session

20x 120lb bench press. Note: I've been referring to this in prev posts as "chest press machine" but it's literally just a bench press machine. I never touch the thing that is *actually* the "chest press machine" and that's because I only ever see the skellys on it. The only people I make note of are the gym beasts and this is the best advice I can give 2 any noob. Also should be clear that machine weight will always be easier bc any force you apply is only going in the direction the machine allows– no stability or technique is really needed.

Idk if this is an au or what, it’s more just a what-if story but y���know we move.

Archie and Pal explore a cool looking island they find one day. Whilst searching the caves, Archie finds an old Diptych Dial (portable sundial often used on ships to tell time), except this one is all weird and glowy. Against his brother’s advice, Archie messes with it.

The island suddenly disappears and they up randomly at sea. Luckily there’s a raft. They climb on, and are in the middle of nowhere. Archie spots a ship, they’re saved! Except they’re not, that’s a very ominous flag.

Archie and Pal end up tied to the mast of the ship. Archie decides to get a last minute confession off his chest. All in all, they’ve had better days.

The Historian Brothers meet the captain – Captain Bluebeard, a fierce and cruel pirate infamous of his time. He intends to see to these landlubbers, when a voice interjects …

Oh shit. That’s Skelly. But like. With flesh.

Archie and Pal’s recognition of Skelly kinda saves their lives. Bluebeard decides to keep them for crew, and gives Swashbuckler the task of training them since they seem to know him. Swashbuckler is very confused.

Archie and Pal discuss their options. They realise now they must have gone back in time, and knowing Swashbuckler’s fate … they realise they have a chance to change it. But this brings up several questions, including the impact this could potentially have on the future – after all, Papa Smurf and Father Time have been very clear about potential consequences for messing with the natural order of events. Archie feels bad for his friend, Pal kind of wants to not fuck up the fate of the universe.

Ultimately, Archie can’t come to terms with his guilt and attempts to gently approach the subject of Swashbuckler avoiding sword fights or even treasure islands. Swashbuckler on the other hand is REALLY disturbed by the fact these strangers seems to know so much about him - I mean that’s just creepy, man – and threatens him. Bear in mind that as fun loving and jolly as Swashbuckler is … he was ultimately still a pirate in life, and took it seriously. Archie thinks he (once again) should have listened to his brother, and backs down.

Archie and Pal start to befriend Swashbuckler … again … as they work on Bluebeard’s ship and try to work out a way of undoing their time fuckery. Swashbuckler starts to realise they’re pretty cool after all, and entertains them with his endless jokes.

Another member of the crew discover Archie’s Diptych Dial and messing with it kinda sorta rips a hole in the space time continuum and releases an ancient beast (Pal is happy!) Father Time is not and shows up to fix everything (you darn kids).

Swashbuckler doesn’t exactly know where his new found friends are going when they tell him they have to leave, but he wishes them a cheery goodbye and hopes they meet again. Archie reconciles with the fact history should stay as it is

Archie and Pal return to their time. Skelly has been wondering where they got to – ooh and he just has to tell them about this insane dream he just had where they were all fighting a giant dinosaur. Weird huh? Yeah, things sure are back to normal.

Sorry it took me so long to get around to finishing this up, I got very busy and didn't feel like working on this. But, I'm hoping to get it all done very soon! I've split up this section to make it more digestable.

Ultimo Dragon

Started out in Mexico working for the Universal Wrestling Association (UWA). In 1990 he also started working for the Universal Wrestling Federation (UWF) in Japan and for Universal Lucha Libre which had been founded by his mentor Gran Hamada.

Initially Ultimo was said to be the last student taught by Bruce Lee (whose nickname was, of course, The Dragon, so Ultimo was the Ultimate Dragon). This backstory was dropped, but he kept the name.

So, in ‘98 Ultimo had to have surgery on his arm but said surgery was botched, and he ended up with nerve damage which is why he retired.

Ultimo trained 3 classes from the Gym (Toryumon Japan, Toryumon 2000 Project, and Toryumon X) however there is also a 4th class that he trained after his departure from Toryumon.

Was only with WWE until April 2004, getting to tick two huge things off his bucket list during that time (Mania and MSG) before WWE told him they wanted him to lose his mask….which made him ask for his release and book it back to Japan.

If you’re wondering exactly what a senior advisor does, I believe they just give advice on how stuff is booked and the such. For example, both Luis Mante and Mochizuki Junior have those names because Ultimo decided that would be their names.

Apparently, he lives in a compound with a vineyard and makes his own wine.

Yes, Dragongate cannot afford to play their own founder’s theme (Separados by Luis Miguel) because apparently if you want that one song you have to buy Luis Miguel’s entire library, and it’s expensive. Just listen to it in your own time it’s a great song and if you just listen to it enough, you’ll be able to hear it over the deafening silence of the copyright void.

Masaaki Mochizuki

Alternatively known as the Iron Man (or Iron Dad) of Dragongate.

Mocchy stems from Mochizuki. He started getting called Mocchy Sr sometimes due to Mochizuki Junior, who fans began to call Mocchy Jr. Although this seems this is much more common on the English-speaking side of the fandom, for the Japanese fans I think they just call Masaaki, Mocchy and Mochizuki Junior, Junior.

Mocchy has always felt like he’s had to fight to keep his position in the promotion. When he first joined in ‘99, he was 30. Which, although isn’t ancient or anything, it still will put you at a disadvantage when a younger crop of talent are around you.

His unit history includes all the iterations of M2K (M2K, Shin M2K, Final M2K and M3K) and Mochizuki Dojo as well as Aagan Iisou, Dia.HEARTS, JUNCTION THREE and Team Veterans.

Back in 2022 Mochizuki said that he considered Mochizuki Dojo to be a failure because of how Shun and Hyo ended up (at this point Hyo was still a heel in Z-Brats) reiterating with, “ah well that feeling of failure is 90% because of Shun.”

If you’re wondering how he was overbearing, Masaaki would regularly break up pins that did not need to be broken up and was overall limiting Junior’s growth. He was referred to as a ‘soccer dad’ and ‘stage dad’ as well by fans.

Mochizuki Junior

Yes, his birthday is on 4/20.

Masaharu Eto isn’t just a random name that was made up, it was crafted to be a big reference to Mocchy for any keen-eyed fan who connected the dots.

Everyone was sus about the whole situation because it seemed strange to bring some kid onto a Toryumon reunion show, but nobody came to the son conclusion.

Yasushi Kanda

He has brought back the mohawk for shows in the past, such as the Toryumon reunion show where Junior debuted.

He was a heel referee when he first transitioned into the role prior to his retirement.

Kandy is easily one of the most intimidating members of the roster, but he also has a big, sweet grin and one of the cutest nicknames in the roster. So, to say he’s got variety is an understatement.

Personal thing here, Kandy is my favourite veteran in Dragongate. I just love him. Here’s him crossdressing on Prime Zone! Here’s him being cute with Junior! Here’s his and Junior's asses!...wait, what?

Don Fujii

Jae on English commentary often jokes about how Fujii has had his knee injury for longer than he’s been wrestling, even saying that he’s had the injury longer than younger members of the roster have even been alive. It’s a very well-known weak spot of his.

Other things Fujii has stolen include Ryo Saito’s bike, Milano Collection A.T’s invisible dog Michele, YOSSINO’s (Masato Yoshino) “pet gorilla” Venezia, and he attempted to steal Genki Horiguchi’s surfboard but was unsuccessful. Venezia was, in fact, not a pet gorilla but a man with dwarfism in a gorilla costume a la KeMonito.

Genshin Impact x Hades Crossover

TBD with Murata and the Tsaritsa, but I thought it's far enough along to at least make a start on this.

Traveler (either Kong or Ying by choice) as protag, going through the stages to get answers about their sibling.

Decided to combine or split the character roles.

House of Hades/Mondstadt: Starting area, get teleported back every time you 'die' in a run. Shops, currency exchange, quest bulletin board, get your own house? to decorate and show off collections and accomplishments. Should be very pretty. Maybe a fake sky?

Characters in this area:

Xiao and Ganyu as Thanatos and Hypnos, generally hang around and offer gossip (or ". . ." I suppose in Xiao's case). Both occasionally show up in your runs to offer help, Xiao offers you a challenge the same as Thanatos, Ganyu offers a complete heal. Each can only appear once per run, although they may not appear at all.

Katheryne as Hades, hanging around always doing paperwork. She makes commentary on your run, like Hypnos except much more obviously sarcastic. She also gives out challenges/bounties and you can purchase decorative upgrades from her. (I originally was going to put Jean here, for the paperwork, but Katheryne seems to make more sense.)

Noelle as Dusa, mostly just commentary and can increase relationship values here.

Diluc as Achilles, offers combat advice as you try out new weapons and boons. Maybe also offers to spar with you for practice? Unlike Skelly, he fights back though.

Dori as the Wretched Broker, exchanging artifacts for currency or vice-versa. She also takes the place of Charon during the runs, offering items, boons and artifacts in return for currency, either in person or at shops. Maybe an extra boss if you steal from her, but not THE bonus boss.

Skirk as Nyx, more commentary, maybe the one who advances the plot?

Tartarus/Liyue: First hostile area, shown mostly underground, as opposed to Mondstadt. Mostly dark with gold accents, very luxurious looking (as opposed to Tartarus appearance of a prison).

Dainsleif is the merchant in this area, implied to be sneaking around for unknown reasons and should drop hints in conversation on how to advance the plot.

The boss for this area is an Abyss Lector, either one or a combination of Enjou, Egill and Agnarr. Enjou would be the only one who really talks and is friendly to the Traveler. None of them show up in Mondstadt.

Asphodel/Fontaine?: Definitely full of rivers, maybe frozen over. Elegant in appearance, lots of fountains.

The merchant is Faruzan. She's in a comfortable, luxurious palace with lots of resources, but implied to be stuck only in the palace and ironically without the items/artifacts she needs to get out. While normal items can be purchased with the regular currency, advancing the relationship with her would involve bringing her artifacts so she can build something that would allow her to escape.

The boss for the area would be the All-Devouring Narwhal.

Elysium/Sumeru: Rooms should alternate between jungle and desert decorations. (I really wanted to do Mondstadt here instead, but I decided it worked better as the starting area.)

Kaeya is the merchant in the area. He's a lot more snarky than Patroclus but maybe some hints of depression still. Advancing both his and Diluc's friendship points means helping them rebuild their relationship, usually by passing messages back and forth to each other. (Personally, I'd like the idea that you can make choices to tilt the relationship to be either romantic or familial, but we know that developers would never go for it.)

La Signora and Childe are the bosses, with La Signora being the Theseus expy and Childe as Asterius. NB: while La Signora shows both Pyro and Cryo abilities and Childe Electro and Hydro, they can only summon the Tsaritsa for an aid attack. Maybe stick a relationship path with Childe, maybe advancing by doing certain challenges?

Temple of Styx/Greece: Not sure what to put here. It would either be Khain'rieh or Celestia, neither of which have been seen yet.

Cerberus would be Durin, except instead of finding a Fetid Sack, you'd pick up a Mondstadt souvenir instead.

The final boss is the Traveler's sibling. Each time you defeat him or her you get a chance to ask one of three questions. But not all questions advance the plot and if you choose the wrong one, well you just have to go again. Not sure what causes the Traveler to return to the beginning each time.

"Have you thrown Zagreus into spike traps by accident" friend I think spike traps probably give me at least one third of the damage I've received. I keep going "I can dash over these" and then dying.

I've attempted 10 escapes so far. I still haven't gotten out of Tartarus.
