A Dwarven Tomb and Going Home

When we last left the party they were on the verge of entering a second secret door in the hunt for a dwarven king's tomb. Opening the door did not reveal what they expected.

Four statues of dwarven deities faced the center of an empty room where one wall was covered with a tattered tapestry showing the king defeating a purple worm.

Soon, Q started hearing a voice from someone named Ghorn claiming that he was an elite guard for King Melair that had promised to stand vigil for eternity. Well, eternity had turned out to be a long time and Ghorn wanted out. He offered to show the party the true tomb if they released him. The party debated quite a while about whether to help Ghorn escape.

Finally, Q decided that there was something magical in the room that Pon could not detect and he decided to cast dispel magic on the tapestry. This revealed a false wall and yet another secret door behind which was the actual final resting place of King Melair. Ghorn was distraught that he had nothing left to bargain with so he started begging with several party members to let him out. He desperately wanted to be released.

The party scooped up a magical shield for Q and belt for Sychor from the dead king. They also relieved him of not one, but both of his desiccated hands since they would need one to open the basalt doors in the throne room.

While they prepare to return to the throne room, Tossa is quite convinced that the voice is being honest and wants to help him. The rest of the party is very skeptical and have to basically drag her away from the tomb. She is convinced that the right thing to do is to free this lost soul and the other party members are almost positive that it is a trap and walk away.

When the party returns to the throne room, they make a deal with the Skella to trade the magic dagger for one of the king's hands. She immediately takes four of her party with her to open the large doors. As soon as the door opens, the party ambushes the duergar. A couple of fireballs and quick action by Sychor result in a wipeout. Inside the room the party finds a gate. While attempting to open the gate, they trigger a trap with a large magical hand that pounds Tossa. The party is able to defeat the trap, but decides that they cannot traverse this gate at this time and leave.

Finding a room where they can sleep, Sychor attunes to the belt and realizes that it's a better tool for a fighter and he gives it to Tossa.

The party finally decides that they need to return the dagger to Azrok so they follow another gate back to the level where the caves are covered in slime. And another gate leads them to a dungeon area where they fight some bugbears claiming to be part of the Xanathar guild. This leads to an outpost with a champion fighter that the party takes down with ease. They finally find their way down a level to the Legion's area and return the dagger to Azrok. Lurkana is quite thankful, but Azrok is adding oddly. Still, they're thankful.

Feeling overloaded with loot and wondering how the topside is living, they make their way back to the bucket area and are about to return to the Yawning Portal!

what are some ways smoky and mom help dade when his anxiety gets overwhelming?

Most of Purple’s anxiety attacks stems from either large groups of people or loud yelling/screaming. So Smoky and Mom would both first escort Purple away from the group, Mom would politely excuse the two before leaving, Smoky would just silently lead Purple away.

Mom would hold Purple’s hand, even if the big boi is gripping Mom’s hand so tightly he’s sure it’s gonna break. He’ll whisper comforting words to him, reminding him of silly memories to make him laugh and smile and distract him with any topic at all. Mom is completely fine with going back home with Purple if he still isn’t comfortable, reassuring him that it’s fine and that he doesn’t mind going back. And by time they get home, Mom brings Dade to the couch, bundles him up with multiple blankets, turns the TV on to whatever Purple wishes, then makes the other food. Can’t forget the fore-head skella-kiss after Purple is officially swaddled and comforted!!!

Smoky would lead Purple to a secluded area, holding him close and silently, once alone he’ll have Purple explain different parts of the human anatomy or some things he’s learned at medical school to him so as to distract Purple, and Smoky knows having Purple ramble about such topic usually makes him happy. He’ll lead him back home, eventually tugging Purple to the couch and cuddling closely to eachother, silent and lax. Such usually ends up in them both falling asleep.

Another way Smoky has to calm Purple down, mainly when he’s anxious with something at home, is he distracts and cheers Purple up by basically being his dress-up doll, letting the other abomination dress him up in whatever he wants. Which he loves to do as Smoky basically wears the same outfit everyday which quite annoys Purple.
