I was honestly really shocked when I got into her fandom fully in 2020 and started discovering just how truly deplorable he is like 95% of the time. I knew he sucked and I already didn't like him at that point but jfc he is actually somehow so so much worse than "Joker was abusive towards Harley" really captures.

I thought there was going to be something, some small handful of moments, that I could at least understand, Mildly, their shippers draw to them, an actual Power Couple esc vibe sometimes, but it's just legitimately non-existent. He never thinks of her as an equal, him doing so is in and of itself out of character at this point.

The aesthetic of them that comes up and has been spread around since her creation is just pure fanon delusion that DC has happily played into via covers and marketing (even if the inside product is fucking horrific abuse), it goes hand in hand with the Classic True Villain Harley thing.

it's just all fanon nonsense built upon a foundation of misinformation, not understanding the slightest bit about her character or how domestic abusers navigate / the cycle of abuse he is constantly shown to be perpetrating.
