I decided to follow the day’s theme for once (but I don’t remember if it was day 4th’s or 5th’s OTL) and draw an Underwater picture. Also used watercolors for the first time, wooo! fixed some stuff on photoshop but whatever

Been seeing a ton of Skelemermaids, so I decided to join in on the fun and make my own version of Mer!Sans!

Crisp lived with his 3 older brothers, Edge, Stretch, and Slim, in a rather large cave, with plenty of space inside and out. When he arrived home, Edgw was luring some fish for dinner.

Crisp gushed to them about seeing the most adorable little guppy drifting along in the current. His tail was so pretty, and he almost could touch him,but the little thing swam away. But hes planning on going back out tomorrow to see if he returns!

The others, well aware of the trouble Crisp can get himself into, want to follow.

So next morning, the shiny skelemermaids set out, following Crisp as he follows his path from yesterday.

Hes not there. But Crisp is determined, and continues to look around until he spots something swimming in a coral reef. His little guppy!

Edge stops him from swimming right down there. They'll observe from a distance instead. Hiding behind some rocks, they can get a closer look.

Crisps eye lights were on his little guppy from before, resting so peacefully. Swimming just above the reef were two more, one with a lighter blue tail with a bit of purple that caught Stretches eye, and one with a deep purple with a dash of black tail, Slim liked him. Another swam from between the corals and settled right next to the first one, with a ruby red tail in various shades. Edge liked him.

So. Crisp was telling the truth.

They watched the smaller ones for hours, watching their every move, thinking.

I got this idea from some fic i read like, year ago

Skele mermaids, right.

You got the sanses, smaller, tails are usually two or three tones, and very pretty

And the Papyri, larger, tails are very sparkly, and they have bioluminescence, so they can make them shimmer and glow, very good for catching prey and mates

Crisp is happily swimming along one day when he spots Comic, lazily drifting in the current. Hes never seen a small one like that, and doesn't know what to make of it, so he uses his tail, start making it shine and glow, like a beacon, getting this small mermaids attention

And it works, at least a little bit, as the small thing starts to drift closer, entranced. Until he blinks, and snaps out of it, and swims away.

So Crisp just has to tell his brothers about this

It turns out that the Skelemermaids were just tired of swimming through all these leaves and wanted to catch a ride with Gloria on her floaty, but they don't speak frightened Blythe, and honestly even if they did, Gloria wouldn't have heard them over all her screaming. So good news, the extra floaties Desi tossed out here gave the Skelemermaids the chill break they needed, and Gloria has calmed down a little too. - Although she would like to get back into the boat now please. . This year is Spooky's very first Spooky season and she is having a blast!
