Tibetan is a revision of the older Shamanistic Bon language, an esoteric hybrid of Tibetan, Chinese, Nepalese, and Sanskrit. It's called 'Kali' or 'Skull Alphabet because the shapes of its characters are patterned after the cranial sutures of the human skull.

The practice degenerated over the ages, eventually became phrenology, mutate and crawl even further into the social public to morph into "mind reading" and "hair tattoos."
