F2: Bearman seizes maiden pole in last gasp Baku thriller

Oliver Bearman went from zero to hero to snatch his first Formula 2 pole. Bending his steering moments before his final attempt, the Ferrari junior shook off the problem to take the top spot by a thousandth of a second in Azerbaijan. A delayed start to the session was followed by an early red flag during the opening seven minutes, after Brad Benavides found the barriers at Turn 1. When the session resumed, Bearman continued his strong form after topping practice earlier in the day. WATCH: Nyck de Vries and Pierre Gasly crash out of Azerbaijan Grand Prix qualifying Red Bull junior and MP Motorsport driver Dennis Hauger then became the one to beat, clocking in a 1m 53.531s at the halfway mark. However, track evolution and the power of the tow meant it would all go down to the wire. Contrasting fortunes at PREMA Racing saw Frederik Vesti’s penultimate attempt put the Mercedes junior up into provisional pole, whilst his team mate Bearman brushed the barriers at Turn 2, forcing him to skate around the Baku City Circuit with bent steering. As the chequered flag came out, the improvements didn’t stop. In a blink of an eye, Hauger, Vesti and finally Enzo Fittipaldi all shot up into P1 across the line. Right in the train cars behind, Bearman caught the perfect slipstream, helping him to wrestle pole away from the Rodin Carlin driver with a 1m 52.652s. Theo Pourchaire was another late beneficiary in third ahead of Vesti and the MP duo of Hauger and Jehan Daruvala. Jak Crawford was the second-best rookie in seventh, beating fellow newcomers Victor Martins and Zane Maloney. After securing 10th, Richard Verschoor lines up on reverse grid pole for Saturday’s Sprint Race, which gets underway at 1500 local time. Not Like We Used To Be [Nate Maloley]

Request: y/n and nate were really close at one point and had that almost dating type of relationship until nate started dating ana Montana. Y/n gets jealous & insecure (bc Ana is rly pretty and a baddie while y/n has a baby face and is somewhat a “good girl”) she has a bit of a breakdown and then jj & Swazz try to cheer her up (and maybe add nate talking to her in the end too?)

Word Count: 600+

I sit on the black leather couch, my eyes watching his every move. Light shines in his deep brown eyes, energy pulsing through his veins. I watch, entranced, as his head nods to the beat through his headphones, the bun on his head bouncing from the motion. He stands on the other side of the studio glass, bringing his latest rap lyrics to life. Soon enough they will no longer just be words written on a page. Instead they will be out in the world for all to hear.

I enjoy watching him while he’s in the studio. He is so passionate about his music, and I couldn’t be prouder to call him my best friend.

I’m brought out of my thoughts as I hear the boys cheering loudly.

“Yo, that was sick!” Swazz exclaims, putting his blunt back in his mouth and taking a drag. A cloud of smoke protrudes from his lips before disappearing into the air.

Nate takes off his headset and exits the small side room before taking a seat on the leather couch beside me. “So, how was it?”

I smile up at him whilst cuddling into his side. “It sounded great. I loved it!”

He smiles in my direction and wraps his tan, muscular arms around my shoulders, pulling me closer to him. Nate places a quick, gentle kiss to my temple before turning and grabbing a blunt himself, continuing his conversation with the boys.

That was before Nate suddenly got a girlfriend and started to ignore me.

I enter the large wooden door of Nate and Swazz’s apartment. They always leave the door unlocked, and it’s normal for me to just walk right in. But as soon as I walk inside I see Nate on the couch with his girlfriend, the one and only, Ana Montana. She’s all over him, cuddled into his side. I was hoping Nate would be up for hanging out with me today, just like we used to. But it seems that he failed to mention he’d be with Ana all the time. This is the third time this week I’ve visited trying to get my best friend to spend time with me, but it looks like I’ll be walking away without what I had hoped for, yet again. I guess he’s just not my best friend anymore.

I decide that instead of just walking out, it’d do me some good to at least hang out with someone today. I turn and make my way up the stairs to Swazz’s room. I hear voices as I creep down the hall, nearing his room. A smile brightens my face as I recognize Johnson’s voice among his. I knock on the door gently and enter after hearing a faint “come in.”

"Y/N! I haven’t seen you in so long! How have you been?” Jack stands up, embracing me in a warm hug.

"I’ve been better…” I trail off, causing a confused expression to come across his face. Before I have the chance to say anything, Swazz speaks up.

"It’s Nate, isn’t it?”

I slowly nod my head in reply, feeling tears well up in my eyes. Johnson holds me tighter, while he soothingly rubs my back. “I just don’t understand it. We used to be so close… and now, he just ignores me,” I speak, trying to hold back my tears.

"We don’t understand it either, Y/N. I wish I knew what’s been going through his head,” Swazz looks at me with sympathy.

"I honestly thought we would become something more one day. We acted like a couple most of the time. But now he’s with her…” I felt like I was gonna collapse. I could feel all the pain I’ve kept bottled up for weeks now, the tears threatening to spill out.

Johnson pulls me into his chest and whispers soothing words into my ear to prevent me from crying. Swazz quickly excuses himself and leaves the room, to talk with Nate I’m assuming. About 10 minutes later there’s a knock on the door. The door opens revealing Nate on the other side. Jack exits the room, leaving Nate and I alone.

"Hey…” he speaks softly, crossing the room to meet me. “Look, I just want to apologize. I’ve avoided you for a while when I shouldn’t have. I didn’t mean to make you upset.”

"Why’d you do it?” I look down at my thumbs fumbling with the cuff of my sleeve.

Nate takes a deep breath before replying, “If you want me to be honest with you, I avoided you because I like you. And no, not just as friends.” He throws his hands up continuing to ramble, “no, scratch that. I’m in love with you, Y/N. I was afraid to tell you. I was too afraid because I didn’t think you’d feel the same.”

I look up to meet his eyes. “But what about Ana?”

"She’s gone. When Swazz came down to speak with me she interrupted saying horrible things about you, so I let her go.”

I rush forward into his arms. “I love you so much, Nate.”

"Not as much as I love you.”

F2: Iwasa seals Melbourne Feature Race victory to command championship lead

Ayumu Iwasa put in a measured performance from pole to take his fourth Formula 2 win and assume the lead of the championship for the first time. Theo Pourchaire kept in touch but had to settle for second and Ferrari junior Arthur Leclerc scored his maiden F2 podium from seventh. Blistering away off the line, Iwasa kept himself ahead as Pourchaire was forced to fend off his ART Grand Prix team mate Victor Martins. The crowd started going wild when I said that, but I still couldn’t believe I fought Ana I could tell this bitch was look at me right now, but I don’t care so I call Derek on the stage we was too lite he sang luh bitch I couldn’t stand it but dance with Derek grinding on each other. Then skate came on. The fact that I am mad at him I still love him, we were like big Sean and Jhene Aiko but I guess​ have fun with him, I started to sing with while I walking towards to him and then started dancing together I couldn’t help but smiling. After the show I went back stage and change my clothes bacially I changed in to a shirt and kept the short on when I walk out and saw skate looking at me, so I walk past him but he grabbed my wrist to sit me down.

“Look stop pretending your mad at me” he said

“ Oka..” I said

“ And stop being mean to her I love her and you” he said

“Oka… Wait did you just said you love me too?” I said

“Yup” he said confused

Omahasquadislife

To all who may be reading this,

I used to run the blog omahasquadislife, I’m not sure if any of you remember me. I deactivated a couple of years ago, but have recently been reflecting on how much I miss writing. I think I want to tiptoe back into it....

I wrote a fanfic regarding the OGOC called “The Tides Have Turned” and I have been throwing around the idea of creating a sequel. I started this blog, yourescapetofiction, as a new means to create stories and content.

 I cannot guarantee that it will be about OGOC because that’s not necessarily the direction I want to take it. BUT if you enjoyed my writing the first time around, I would love if you stuck around to see where it goes.

Espo is my all time favourite hockey player (Duguay was my second favourite. His hair was glorious to watch as he skated. Those were the days before helmets were required.) And it helps that Espo had played for Chicago (for the gentleman), Boston (for friends and neighbors), and New York, where I had the pleasure of seeing these guys play rather often (my boss at the time was in charge of the corporate box at MSG, and he’d let me have the tix when no one else needed/wanted them). Good times.
