hi clara, how are you? forgive me this is mildly incoherent bc im tired but wanted to finish it anyway so here’s me still having no plan for my skam lmao

12- what’s something that people on tumblr would scream about in each season?

season one- everytime Eva is a badass bitch, honestly. When me and my friend talked about it, we agreed she would probably fight with Chris P before Jonas did in the ‘awkward’ scene, and she’s also just a genuinely hilarious person.

season two- i still have no plan for what season two will be (don’t even ask about my noora i just have no responses) but if i go a skam Brighton route and have my season two focus on Kira’s story (Vilde), it would probably be the girl squad doing some absolutely bonkers type stuff like the time Kira lost her shoes when we were walking home in the rain and me and my friend almost collapsed on the sidewalk bc we were laughing so hard about this tall kid walking into a tree branch. Yk, good squad vibes (we are ABOUT that sweet sweet friendship here babey!!!)

season three- oh god im still terrified about how this season would be received and i should probably talk to someone about it but I’d say the hotel scene (the aftermath really) would make tumblr go WILD

season four- again please stand by, i have no idea what’s happening this season + i rlly should talk to my friend before i start this (im not sure how to approach anyone about this tbh which is one of my biggest problems bc i dont want anyone to be offended or take it the wrong way or uyyyy). however Fatimah (Sana) is a gem so it would prob be something rlly sweet with her and her Yousef or just her popping off on someone since she’s usually a pretty chill person

16- Are there any cheating storylines? Are there any love triangles?

i don’t really like cheating storylines, this sounds dumb but like they make me kinda sad?? if possible I’d love to remove that from season one but im not rlly sure i can do that without wildly revamping it and im not sure im up to that. oof love triangles?? yeah probably we’re all about that unrequited love over here (i think im getting delirious i need sleep) oh in one of the first drafts X was gonna be in love with Y and Z but i cant give yall names bc it was just a manifestation of me having crushes on too many people

17- how is mental illness represented in your remake?

I’ve based most of the characters off of people I know irl, usually my friends who I’ve interviewed to some extent about what they’re okay with/want to include. One of my friends, who I am basing my Vilde character off of, has some underlying mental struggles and her season would definitely go into depth about that and her family’s reaction to it; I will not say too much to respect her privacy, but it would go into some depth about Asian American parents and mental illness, which I may interview another friend about too. A lot of my characters have mental illnesses as well- Robbie (my Isak/Cris?) for example has ADHD, another character has autism, many of Bonnie’s acquaintances have mental illnesses. my goal is to be as respectful as possible and try to do a lot of research to make sure i dont fuck anything up (and ill prob need a beta reader if this ever gets written (which considering how fucked the mcu timeline is who even knows))

y’all i literally have no plan beyond half of s1 and half of s3 like i wish i had more brain cells to spare but thanks for forcing me to think clara <3 (also sorry if this is really bad? let me know if anything seems really wrong)

5- what are some iconic soundtrack moments?

I don’t have a lot of the soundtrack down yet but here’s one scene I have down.

I’ve been thinking for ages about what song to use for the slow walk scene in s1- I wanted something powerful, something badass, ya know, but nothing really clicked. (As an extra note, the Eva character in my Skam is based on a friend of mine, and I’ve been trying to use a lot of her music choices in her season.) Enter, M.I.A. I rediscovered Paper Planes by M.I.A. like a week ago and was immediately like, this is it, this is my badass walk song. It’s so easy for me to imagine the squad power walking down some suburban street, acting like idiots (we’re def going for a skam nl vibe here), and just going buck wild to the sound of Paper Planes by M.I.A. My descriptions are sorely lacking but give it a listen it’s a vibe for sure (however there’s a lot of gunshot noises so if that’s a trigger then give it a skip <3).

9- introduce us to your version of Sana

My Sana was originally going to be based off of a canon MCU character from Far From Home named Zoha. I ended up scrapping that idea to make an entirely new character instead, loosely based on one of my school friends. (Zoha might still make an appearance though, who knows). Fatimah is Calliope’s head of photography (Calliope is a creative writing magazine and my version of Russ, I’ll answer more in another ask!). She’s also a talented artist and poet, and is on the Midtown swim team. She’s absolutely the nice aesthetic friend, and her Pinterest is immaculate. She has a younger brother because I love the Sana/Elias dynamic but wanted to switch it up a bit and there’s a lot of sisters here already (but lbr with all the constant editing I’m doing who knows what the families will look like in the end. Even now as I’m typing this I’m thinking about Fatimah maybe having a sister...)

10- introduce us to your version of Even

I could go on for dayssssss about Bonnie Lang. She was the protagonist of my MCU fic Audio Enabled, but I unfortunately never developed a middle plot to the story, so it’s been sitting mostly unwritten in my brain for years now. I can’t say much about her because ✨spoilers✨ but here’s three things about her: 1. Her favorite jacket was her mom’s when she was young. It’s an old yellow fisherman’s jacket (picture huge yellow vinyl coat but its super warm on the inside) and it’s enormously big on her. 2. She’s disabled- Bonnie lost half of her hearing in a childhood accident, and also has scoliosis. 3. Bonnie knows the basics of several different languages and is fluent in ASL! It’s hard to write stuff like this without it sounding like “oh yeah my old protagonist is super gifted aha she has no flaws lol” but I promise that’s not my intention! I realize I strayed from the Even part of this so one last tidbit- out of the two, Bonnie is a much more cautious Even. Her Isak definitely has more of a Shay level of confidence, while Bonnie is often worried of overstepping.

23- what problematic elements would you change in your own adaptation?

I’d try to rework the cheating storyline and the ‘awkward’ scene with Chris P and Jonas. It’ll be difficult to get around the cheating storyline because it’s pretty much central to the season, but I’m going to try and make it work. (I can’t picture my Eva cheating at all, because she is such a loyal, stubborn character, but maybe that’s why it always hurts so much.) And in terms of ‘awkward!’, while she may be less confident in season one compared to later on, this Eva’s still fully prepared to throw down- she’d be more likely to throw hands with Chris P if he made that comment than Jonas would (or maybe she’d verbally smack him down). However, this whole storyline is pretty instrumental to Eva’s season so in the end I’ll probably just try writing it as respectfully as I can.

(Is this necessarily problematic? I don’t really know, it’s just something I’d rather change in my adaptation.)

5. Give us a character and any colors you associate with them and why?

Kira, my Vilde character, is based on one of my best friends who has a very unique fashion sense (I’m not really sure how to describe it- maybe ecclectic?). Every Friday for two years she would wear this long sleeved turquoise shirt with sequins on it and we all called it her Friday shirt (so creative right). I automatically associate that pastel turquoise color with my Kiras now 💕

16. Are there any cheating storylines? Are there any love triangles?

I’ve usually dislike cheating storylines bc they make me uncomfortable, so I’m not really sure if I’m going to include that in my Eva’s season or not (I’d definitely like to skip the whole Sonja cheating situation in season 3). As for love triangles, there was a love triangle in an original draft of my Skam when I first decided to combine it with Audio Enabled, one of my other stories. I’m not sure if it’ll make the final cut, I think the characters have a much better vibe as friends now 😊

I don’t have a playlist yet unfortunately! If I did, there would be a lot of 80s music for s1 and s3, lotta indie girl stuff, early 2010s bops, you know the vibe.

7. What does the boy squad do in their free time?

They’re nerds lmao. I don’t know how well versed y’all are in MCU nonsense but I’ll tell you Peter and Ned are on the academic decathlon team, and as Peter and Ned are going to be in the boy squad somehow, it’s safe to assume at least some of the rest of them will be too. My Jonas is also on the track team, which is an extra thing!!

20. Tell us about your school nurse character

Unfortunately I don’t really have a solid answer for this one yet either 😔 expect something chaotic tho I want her to be wild

22. Is there a 5 fine frøkner scene?

Absolutelyyy. I haven’t quite decided on the song yet, but my Evak are big music girls and they share a lot of music with each other throughout the season 💕 I don't want to give away too much sorry!

oh boy, i just opened the book again to try and pinpoint it so i can tell you: page two. I’ll put the quote that made me instantly go !!!!! here for y’all:

Like this is practically the first page and it’s like this the whole book, seventh grade me was on the f l o o r. Like combine that snarky dialogue, angsty romance, and space opera nonsense and I was in love. The format of this book is a compilation of documents, transcriptions, emails, and etc., which I was planning to also use for my audio enabled fic before i made it into skam mcu/ny. Like if you hunt around on tumblr you’ll no doubt find some of the more elegant pages from the book here, like it is  s t u n n i n g  and I cannot rave enough about it so someone please read it so we can rave together

shadow and bone trilogy- favorite book?

Oh god this is a tricky one. I’m looking at my bookshelf for ideas, and I’d say maybe top three from there would be Illuminae, Greenglass House, and Tales of Greek Heroes (I’m terrible at choosing favorite books, I just read too much to choose lol)

alina starkov- do you like hot weather?

I love hot weather but I hate sweating, i don’t care for that at all. Generally I’m so much happier during the summer- I feel much more confident in myself (I spend a lot of time outside and I find that the more tan I get the more content I feel with myself, and swim team and sailing help me to get in better shape) and I get to spend more time with my favorite people (I met my best friends at my swim team and sailing camp, and I also typically see my extended family more often). I have so many good memories associated with hot weather, whether it be summer or visiting family in Florida (the weather/whether pun was not intentional I promise). On the flip side I detest cold weather- the whole concept of winter and snow is just not my thing, and it also gets pretty cold where I live and I just Do Not Vibe with it at all (also, I’m definitely a lot more sad as the weather gets colder and darker).

red white and royal blue- three places you want to visit?

there’s so many places I’d love to visit!! I’d love to go to Venice- the whole concept of the place is unbelievable to me. I read this book called the thief lord when I was younger and the way they wrote about the city was so fascinating to me. I’d also love to visit Mont Sant-Michel and Claude Monet’s house, both of which are in France. My grandparents went to Mont Saint-Michel a few years ago and it looked incredible! It’s been on my go to list for a while now. As for Monet, he’s one of my favorite artists and I have a lot of happy memories associated with him and my grandmother. The house itself looks beautiful and I’d love to see the gardens- my grandmother and my dad went when he was a kid and she used to have a picture of the two of them standing on the green bridge from his paintings. I’d love to recreate the picture for myself someday <3
