sketches of the non-replica costumes

Note
they only really take them off before HoH (off-stage, where they also put on a prop/accessory), and put them back on before Get Down starts (also off-stage). oh, and Cleves has her jacket removed during Get Down (kind like in the og old school reveal), and she puts it back on after she's done!
just wanted to say that i love reading your detailed analyses, and if you ever need extra pics/additional angles for a post on the hungarian production from different parts of the show, feel free to hit me up ;)
Thanks!
For both!
For the non replica productions I am not doing a lot of in depth analysis. I am working on a big costume breakdown for each but aside from that I won't go as intense as usual. But I do have one question: I've seen photos of the queens with and without the short jackets they wear at what looks like different points in the show. How does that work? Do they take them off and then put back on during the show?

Happy Asian and Pacific Islander Month to our queens!
Here in the US, May is Asian-American and Pacific Islander month. So just like last year, I'll be highlighting the Asian and Pacific Islander queens of Six. This year is especially fun as there's currently an Asian or Pacific Islander queen in every currently-running replica production of Six!

This list also doesn't encompass the full breadth of many queens' identities; many of them are of mixed race and ethnicity, or of several nationalities. That post provides further information. - I usually don't include actors who haven't debuted. That means that Kimberley Hodgson and Deirdre Khoo (both of the recently-announced Australian Tour) and Fia Houston-Hamilton (cancelled Breakaway 2.0) are not included.

Okay, so, the costumes for the Polish production of Six have REALLY grown on me. I don't love them, I still think there's just a little something that's missing, but I do actually like them. Also, those queens can SING!! They are all so good!
I will say though the little clips I've seen of the Hungarian cast...I straight up don't enjoy those costumes. They seem really off to me.

Céline Dion - Pour Que Tu M'aimes Encore 1995
"Pour Que Tu M'aimes Encore" (meaning "so that you'll love me again") is a song by Canadian singer Céline Dion, released as the lead single from her thirteenth studio album, and tenth French-language album, D'eux (1995). It was written by Jean-Jacques Goldman, and produced by Goldman and Erick Benzi. It received positive reviews from music critics and won the awards for Song of the Year at the Victoires de la Musique and Most Popular Song of the Year at the Félix Awards. The English-language version of the song, "If That's What it Takes", was included on Falling Into You in 1996.
"Pour Que Tu M'aimes Encore" became Dion's biggest French-language hit and her signature song. It topped the charts in France (number 1 for 12 weeks), Belgium Wallonia (number 1 for 15 weeks) and Quebec, and became her first French-language song to enter the top 10 in the UK. Elsewhere, it peaked at number two in Belgian Flanders and Iceland, three in Sweden and the Netherlands, four on the European Hot 100 Singles, six in Ireland, seven in Scotland, 15 in Hungary, 17 in Switzerland, 30 in Austria, 31 in Lithuania and 39 in Germany. In May 2017, the Guinness World Records awarded "Pour Que Tu M'aimes Encore" as Best-selling Single in Canada with 2.1 million units and Best-selling Single in France with another 2.1 million copies sold.
"Pour Que Tu M'aimes Encore" received a total of 56,7% yes votes.

Bucky stood close behind me as we walked the short distance from his car to the building where we were meeting Steve and Sam. According to Steve, there was someone inside that knew some information about the hit and he was willing to meet with us on one condition. Bucky had a tight grip on a bag that held that certain condition.
Twenty thousand conditions to be exact.
The guy wanted $20,000 in exchange for the info that we needed. I tried to tell Bucky that no matter what information this guy had, it wasn’t worth all this money.
“For your life? I’d drain every single one of my accounts.”
I felt every inch of my body vibrate as we walked up to Steve and Sam, who stood right outside of the entrance of the club.
“Is he here?” Bucky questioned.
Steve nodded. “At the bar.
“Is it in there?” Sam pointed to the bag.
“Yeah. Asshole wouldn't take anything less than 20,” Bucky grumbled before resting his eyes on me. “Remember what I said?”
I sighed but nodded. “Stay by you at all times.”
With a motion of his head, we all headed inside of the lively club while all standing close to one another. Steve stood close behind me while Sam and Bucky were in front of us. There were bodies packed close together, dancing along with the loud beats of the music and we had to physically push our way through to make our way to the bar. Steve was right behind me, his warm breath across the skin of the back of my neck, and his arms were on either side of me to protect me from whatever would happen.
Bucky looked over his shoulder to make sure I was still close so I linked my fingers with his, allowing him to guide me through the crowd.
Through the clearing, we all stopped in front of the bar and Steve pointed to the lone man sitting in the middle with his back to us.
“Perhaps we can go somewhere more private?” The man swung around in the stool, now staring at us.
When his eyes landed on me, they widened for a brief second. “I didn’t expect to see you here tonight.”
I shrugged. “I don’t have anything to be afraid of.”
“Hm,” the man hummed while taking a drink. “Baron Zemo.”
“Y/N,” I gave a curt nod.
Baron looked towards Bucky and motioned towards the bag in his hand. “Is that it?”
Bucky dropped it to his feet. “Tell us what you know.”
“If it’s anything like the last few times we’ve met, all the money is here?” Baron asked while placing the bag onto his lap.
Clearly this wasn’t the first time that Bucky and Baron had met.
“What do you know?” Steve now asked.
“I received a call from Clint Barton a week ago to fly him and a lady friend of his to Hungary.”
“Budapest?” Bucky spoke.
I suddenly remembered the conversation that was being had between Bucky and the guy he had pinned to the bar last night.
Baron nodded. “This wasn’t the first time I let them use my jet either.”
Bucky’s hand was still linked with mine so I could feel when he tensed. “Them?”
“Clint and the redhead,” Baron smirked while taking a drink.
He knew who the redhead was, we all did. Baron was playing coy which irritated us.
“I think she said her name was Natasha?” He said.
Bucky went to lunge for him but I held him back, letting him know that we wouldn't get any more information if Baron was knocked to the floor unconscious. With myself standing in front of him to block him, I gave Baron a hard stare.
“Cut the bullshit, Zemo. You knew Natasha was Bucky’s wife. How many times did you let them use your jet?” I asked.
“Quite a lot over the last year and a half, even when the two of you were married. I caught them a few times being a bit too close, especially for a married woman,” Baron said over my shoulder to Bucky.
My heart fell into my stomach with the realization that Natasha and Clint were seeing each other. But I could only hurt for Bucky so much because we were doing the same thing that they were.
Sam could feel the sudden tension so he spoke next. “Are you planning on picking them up in Budapest to fly them back?”
Baron only nodded.
“When?” Steve asked.
He lifted up his cell phone. “Clint will call me when they're ready to come back.”
“As soon as he calls you, you let me know. Understand?” Bucky demanded, still standing behind me.
"For a price,” Baron smirked.
I went to refuse, not wanting Bucky to waste any more of his money on me, but he spoke faster than I could.
“I’ll wire you another twenty when I have proof that they touched ground in New York.”
The smirk on Baron’s face doubled in size but the conversation that they were now having fell on my deaf ears as I felt a burning sensation on the back of my head and it wasn’t coming from Bucky.
While peering over my shoulder, I saw that not only was one set of eyes on me but at least three that I could notice. And it wasn’t the kind of gaze that was full of desire, it was more so filled with greed.
One of the men pushed back his jacket, revealing a gun holstered on the side of his pants and I immediately patted Bucky’s chest with shaking fingers.
“Bucky,” I muttered.
He followed my eyes and I knew when he saw what I did because Bucky quickly went to head over to the man who was holding his gun. However, I held him back.
“We can't afford to cause a huge scene right now. The less people know that I’m here the better.”
Reluctantly, Bucky nodded and used his large frame as a shield, standing behind me once again. Our eyes locked when I placed a gentle hand on his cheek.
“No one is going to try anything while you’re here, especially with Sam and Steve,” I reassured him.
I heard a snicker from behind me.
“You think that you’re safe because you have THE Bucky Barnes at your side? There will be a time where he can’t be with you. I’d suggest you be careful.”
I cocked my head to the side, lips parting in a smug smile. “Is that a threat?”
Baron gave a one shoulder shrug. “What could you possibly do?”
My knuckles collided with his chin, his body clattering to the hard floor below and he brought the stool down with him. The loud noise caught the attention now from everyone around us but I paid them no mind.
Baron went to stand up but I placed the heel of my shoe deep into his chest, locking him into place on the ground.
“Let’s get one thing straight, Zemo,” I dug my heel harder into his chest when I felt him struggle against me. “I don’t need them to protect me. Clearly, I have zero problem dealing with men like you.”
Steve looked around us, people now crowding around us even closer, and gently grabbed my elbow.
“Y/N, we need to go,” his voice was soft but urgent.
I watched as one guy with a knife gripped tight in his hand slowly stalked towards me which caused Bucky to wrap an arm around me and pull me into his chest.
“Keep your head low,” he breathed in my ear.
With my own arm wrapped around his side, I let him quickly lead me out of the club, Sam and Steve following very close behind.

Was Franz Joseph as boring as he seems?
There are hudreds of different types of media dedicated to empress Elisabeth, including films, books, tv-shows and musical. And in most of them the figure of her husband Franz Joseph, who was much more important in historical and social context, is barely a piece of furniture in the backgroung. Even if his character is somehow developed, the central figure is always Elisabeth and never him. It is simply explained by the outstandind personality on the empress, that can have a lot of more or less romanticized interpretations. Compared to her, the emperor is just a boring and worthless normie, that noone would be interested in. But here are some facts about his young years showing that he also deserves some attention.
1. Just look at this twink and his tiny waist.
I'm 100% sure that he wore corsets.
Tumblr media
2. Franz Joseph had a fenomenal memory. He never forgot names and faces and could easily memorise large vocabulary, which allowed him to learn six languages (German, French, Polish, Czech, Hungarian, Italian and a little of Latin and Greek). Also he was a really good dancer and had a talent for drawing. Here's his pencil drawing at the age of 13.
Tumblr media
3. That little line from the musical "Feelings are forbidden for me" was actually a really big thing in his upbringing. His mentors literally didn't allow him to show any emotion to make him elaborate an iron discipline and self-control. Eventually his character became highly reserved and devoid of compation and warmth. And when he was already 17 his mother Sophie *suddenly* realized, that it all went in a wrong direction. The best solution that she came up with was to force her son to play a comedy role in a private perfomance at the court, so that he could gain more easiness in communication. Franz hated the whole idea and hated every minute on stage. But, supposingly, it did actually help him to imrove his social skills, because after that contemporaries always described him as a totally amiable and charming lad.
4. Franz Joseph became an emperor when he was 18. At that point the country was on the edge of revolution and the previous emperor, his uncle Ferdinand, decided to simply run away from Vienna refusing from the crown and left the reins of government together with a political disaster to his young nephew. Rumour has it, that when Franz Joseph returned after the transfer of power ceremony he burst into tears.
5. Two weeks later, when it was known, that austrian troops entered Hungary to suppress the rebellion and the civilian war has actually started, there was one peculiar incident. During an evening ball FJ's youngest brother Lugwig Victor accidentally cracked a mirrored door and asked the emperor to protect him from punishment. Unexpectedly Franz Joseph asked his mother, if he could smash the door completely, when there's already a crack in it. And after getting a permition he frantically and furiously shattered the glass into pieces. I didn't find any information about did he do it with some object or with bare hands, but just imagine, if he did it with bare hands.
The craziest is that it wasn't even at the imperial palace, they were on a visit to some archbishop and the man was totally pissed off by this prank.
There will be no conclusion.

I was going through some past emails and I found this post from my old Yahoo group
On Feb. 6, the "Old Movie Section" blog posted this "tintype" of Peter, written by Sidney Skolsky, taken from a book titled "Tintypes". Peter was working on "Crime and Punishment" at the time:
<<<< 11/27/1935 HCN Tintypes By Sidney Skolsky
Peter Lorre is in his dressing room. It generally takes him an hour to dress for his role in Crime and Punishment. He does this slowly, intentionally. He believes it aids him to portray the character.
He goes on the set and stands in for himself. He is one of the few big actors who do this. He poses under the hot lights while director von Sternberg arranges them and the camera. He does this because von Sternberg, who is particular about lighting a scene and an actor, asks him to do it. It means hard work for him, but he admires von Sternberg.
While on the set he has a favorite drink, a mixture of raspberry syrup and water. He makes everyone sample it. While making a flicker he doesn't eat much. His lunch consists merely of sliced fresh fruit, usually peaches.
He walks about, whether it be in the studio or in a restaurant, much in the same manner as he did in M. People who have seen him in this great flicker are scared when they first see him in person. He knows this and is greatly amused by it.
It was his excellent performance in M which got him a contract with Columbia. Before coming to America, he signed to play in the flicker, The Man Who Knew Too Much, to learn to speak English. He is good at languages and was quite adept at English in six weeks. He spoke better English in the latter reels of The Man Who Knew Too Much than he did in the beginning.
He was born in the village of Rosenberg, Hungary, on June 26, 1904. It was after he completed high school that he ran away from home to become an actor. In one early theatrical job he was given a three- line part. After the rehearsals the lines were taken away from him because he overacted. The director said he would be a standout by merely walking across the stage.
He is five feet 5 inches tall, weighs 160 pounds, has brown prominent eyes, brown hair, and rosy cheeks. A strange villain.
He speaks in a low, confidential voice which cannot be heard very far away. At the studio he will visit different offices. He amuses friends by acting and making faces. When telling a story he acts out all the characters.
He is a mild, pleasant person. He has a house at Santa Monica to which he invites his few friends for breakfast or dinner. He prefers to test by himself in his garden here. He seldom barks. He is not a visitor to the Hollywood gay places.
He enjoys watching tennis and football. His favorite sport is wrestling. He attends the bouts regularly. He once waited until after a match to ask Man Mountain Dean for an autograph.
He is married to Cecilie Lvovsky, an actress. They met when they were both appearing in the German play, "The Candidate," and were married when they met again in London. He was making a flicker. They were married during a lunch hour, and Lorre was in the make-up he used in The Man Who Knew Too Much. They haven't any nicknames for each other.
He makes charcoal sketches, landscapes and portraits, and is a good artist for his own amusement. He likes to listen to classical music. He detests bright red fingernail polish on women.
He insists that if he did not have to act, he would not. Acting, he says, is a child's profession for a grown up. "But," he slyly adds, "I love it."
When he isn't working he relishes a big meal. He likes Hungarian goulash and is especially fond of new potatoes in cream. He will talk about food and give a lecture on why a certain salami is better than another type of salami.
He is not at all particular about clothes. He doesn't try or pretend to be fashionable. He always carries plenty of baggage, most of which he never uses. He claims it looks good when you're traveling.
He likes cold showers and actually takes them.
He seldom carries money with him. Often he has run into a shop to buy a package of cigarets [sic], has found himself without a penny, and has had to write out a check for 15 cents. He sleeps alone in a twin bed. He wears pajamas, and on warm nights he wears only the jacket. He always reads himself to sleep.
He has a clause in his contract. Each day before work he is allowed to run into Boris Karloff's dressing room and frighten him.

Okay, so I'm making a Genshin element system because why the hell not. It just started as making my own nation inspired by Hungary, but it got a bit out of hand... a lot out of hand, actually, but whatever XD
So far, I have one element called Thermo. It's basically a mix between pyro and cryo with a system that sort of works like Furina's Pneuma and Ousia switching, which is very fun for me. But I'm still in need of six other elements and nations that aren't based on basic elements that genshin already has...
Soooo any nation and element suggestions? I've seen ones like music and time based, but I didn't really want to copy those 😅
