The Sitka Mountain Ash is native to the Pacific Northwest and Alaska. It’s beautiful red berries are not really toxic, but definitely inedible in their raw form. There are stories about their use in native traditions, however they are rarely used. Except, by the #bohemianwaxwing , which come every year to Anchorage in the spring time to eat the fermented berries from the fall.
