My mother wants her 'darling sons' home for the weekend.

By wants, of course, I mean she suggested it with a tone that told me if either of us declined, we'd be dragged back, by her, by our chin tendrils. One does not tell Mother 'no'.

It's not that I don't positively adore my dear mother and all, I just had other plans.

Plans that didn't involve listening to an old Sith woman repeatedly bounce between my brother and I asking why she has no grandchildren and interspersing that with sprinklings of, "If your father were still alive he'd kill himself just so he could roll over in his grave" when she's speaking to Xesk'orn.

I'd be lying if the latter didn't amuse me. 

I bet he gets her lightning cane to the head at least once for getting mouthy or rolling his eyes at her.

She doesn't need the cane for the lightning, it just keeps her from having to get up and walk over to Xesk'orn to swat him upside the head. That, and it's harder than her hand and durasteel is fairly conductive.

I really shouldn't laugh, it isn't as though Darth Zi’vit is a frail old woman, despite her looks; her physical strength may be slowly leaving her, but she is still incredibly strong with the Force.   She was with us, and Father, during the attack on the Jedi temple on Coruscant, and since that point she has only increased in skill. I always figured her anger at having lost her husband in that battle drove her on, not because he fell, but because he was proven to be weaker than any of us thought by not surviving.

Rather fortunate for me that Xesk'orn looks like him, it means I don't get the lightning cane upside the head. Mm, well, that and I'm not a complete screwup. He rather is. It's a pity, he's skilled and lethal when he focuses, it's just that his focus is usually on something it should not be on. Usually sabacc.

I went right ahead and sent mother the holos of Giddy's interrogations. She was impressed enought to not be entirely angry at the fact that Gida'tar is, quite unfortunately, Twi'lek. In fact, her exact wording was, "Such a pity the woman isn't pure or suitable for breeding, she'd be an excellent choice for you if that weren't the case."

What a disgusting thought.
