Being in prison was a torment.

One that he thought he rightfully deserved. After everything he'd done to Jowd and his family and to Lynne, he thought he deserved to be locked up forever. The only thing that prevented that thought from going further, was the fact he actually had someone waiting for him outside of that dark cell.

Someone he loved with all his heart. Someone he saw dead in the old timeline. Someone who didn't know the monster he had become.

She always came, everyday, to check on him. The first few months weren't pretty, with Yomiel struggling to remain sane after experiencing ten years of undeath, developing a mental condition known as Cotard Syndrome and refusing to eat because he thought his body didn't need it, because he still thought he was dead and this was all a dream.

She wasn't the only Sissel to visit him, though.

The first time he received his best friend's visit, he was in shock. Never in his wildest dreams, he'd think his best friend would end up in the same predicament as he was. But even if the thought terrified him, being able to talk with Sissel again was what helped him get a grip on his sanity and realize that he wasn't dreaming, that he actually had his fate averted.

He was in the middle of painting something when he felt the familiar presence in his mind.

“Hey, buddy.” He greeted mentally, his tone, even in the Ghost World, revealing how tired he actually was. “Wasn't expecting you to come so early today, but I'm glad you came. Couldn't sleep well this night.” As if he ever slept well ever since that day in the park.

Yomiel bent down to better scratch his friend's back, smiling as he watched the little feline enjoying his affection. It was too bad he couldn't actually feel the soft fur under his fingers, but his friend liked it, it was good enough for him.

“At least one of us is happy.” He said with a bittersweet smile. His fingers gently scratched under the cat's little chin, knowing how much he enjoyed the spot. “You're such a little baby, aren't you, Sissel? Yes, you are. A baby kitty.”

Those were the rare times Yomiel actually smiled, although there was still a deep sorrow and grief behind them.

 He wandered off to the side back arching as Yomiel scratched their back.He let out a small purr moving to rub his body against the other’s leg for more affection.Their tail swayed as they rolled on their back to continue purring.They were always down to receive more attention from them.Even if the other had a cold touch.

The cat was hiding from plain sight,refusing to come out from underneath the bed

The man in red was walking around the house, searching for his beloved companion.

“Sissel? Where are you, buddy? I have something for you”

He said as he got a small package of cat treat from his pocket, shaking it slightly to get the feline’s attention

oh, && it looks like sissel is being petted again . honestly, lynne was bored [ there were no cases that needed her current attention ] && had nothing to do, so she simply decided to kill time by petting the cat’s black fur . the cat, admittedly, was a bit odd, but that didn’t bother her in the slightest . it was almost like she had some experience in odd things before .

[😎] “Exactly, you are a baby. Baby baby boy. Absolutely adorable.”

Yomiel is totally forgetting this same cat foiled all his plans, but hey, it ended up being for the better of everyone, so he doesn't mind.

“The only crime I committed is being adorable.”

    They say as they helped break someone out of prison,someone from escaping the police,hacking into phone lines and  redirecting a missile….Totally innocent cat.

“NOOOOOO, SISSEL!!! YOU'RE THE BABY SUPREME! THE BABIEST OF THE BABIES!!!”

“Yomiels cheating on me with other cats.I am heartbroken.”

“Cat’s can never do anything wrong it’s a fact.”

   They purred louder in response to the hug.Luckily they can’t be squeezed to death from how tight the other was hugging them.With a small mental chuckle they swayed their tail nuzzling into the other’s face while they licked the other’s salty tears. “Hey now I lived a long life.A long…happy life.Those were the best years I had.You reached your hand out to me first pal…I’m thankful for that…so the least I can do is to do the same to you.I won’t let you drown again Yomiel…”    He purred holding the other close cuddling them.No matter how long it takes,he will stay faithful by his owners best friends side.A guide to lead the other back on track away from the darkness.Maybe one day the other can walk on their own,without the shackles of the past weighing them down.

Yomiel sobbed against his best friend's fur, holding the little feline close.

“Thank you Sissel. I'm so glad I ever met you. You're the best friend I could ever have.”

He sniffed, wiping his tears away as he let go of Sissel, looking around.

“The prison guard will be here soon to check on me. You should go.” He sniffed again. “But... promise you'll come back soon? I hate being alone and my thoughts aren't good company. I always feel better when you come.”

“……”     Upon walking away from the scene of the crime he paused looking at Yomiel for a moment.His ears flicked as he then looked to the side playing innocent and confused at the other’s question.He merely gave a small meow in response before casually trying to leave the room.

Despite the initial look of annoyance, Yomiel managed a smile. He had been feeling depressed again, thinking about Sissel (the human one), before he was alerted by the sound of something falling.

“Always up for mischief, aren't you, buddy?” He chuckled as he followed Sissel and scratched his back. “You're bored too, huh? We could take a walk outside or play a bit.”
