Internal Hackathon 2024 at SIRT Bhopal

SIRT Bhopal hosted its much-anticipated "Internal Hackathon 2024" on the 7th and 8th of September, as part of the preparations for the Smart India Hackathon 2024. The event saw the participation of "51 teams", all showcasing their innovative ideas and problem-solving skills.💡💡

The internal hackathon provided a platform for students to present their cutting-edge solutions across a wide range of fields.

Each team was evaluated by a distinguished jury comprising experts from both industry and academia. The evaluation criteria focused on key aspects such as innovation, novelty, cost-effectiveness, technical skills, and ideation.

This event is a crucial step in identifying the best teams to represent the institution at the national-level Smart India Hackathon 2024, scheduled to take place on November 24th.

The selected teams from the internal hackathon will advance to this prestigious competition, where they will compete against some of the brightest minds from across the country.

Prof. Praveen Kumar Kaithal (SPOC) expressed his pride in the creativity and talent displayed by the participants and wished the selected teams the best as they prepared for the national-level competition.

SMART INDIA HACKATHON 2018 AT SAGAR INSTITUTE OF RESEARCH & TECHNOLOGY

Our Hon’ble Prime Minister, #Shri Narendra Modi, envisages a Digital India to bridge the digital divide in our country and further promote digital literacy in order to make development a comprehensive mass movement and put governance within everyone’s reach in India. In order to work towards our PM’s vision, MHRD, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Inter Institutional Inclusive Innovation Center (i4C), and Persistent Systems organized Smart India Hackathon 2017, a unique initiative to identify new and disruptive digital technology innovations for solving the challenges faced by our country.

Smart India Hackathon is a 36-hour non-stop software product development competition, where problems are posed to technology students for innovative solutions. It was the world biggest Hacakthon event. Students at different nodal centres in India solved the various problems statement given by various ministries of Govt. of India.

Sagar Institute of Research & Technology was the only nodal centre in Bhopal, conducted Smart India Hackathon 2017 with collaboration of MHRD, AICTE, Persistent. Almost 250 students of around 40 teams from various colleges including IIT’s and NIT’s participated in this event to create different App’s and Web Portal as a remedial solution for National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) Ministry. Distinguished judges from different organization trained and judged all teams as per their own parameters. In between of event our Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modiji even addressed to all participants in his elegant manner through Video Conferencing.

Clubs/Committee

Anti-Ragging Committee- This committee has been formed by Sagar Group of Institution with the target of preventing any act of ragging at the school. Incidents of ragging are often reported on to the members of the committee in confidence. This committee affirms to harshly penalize anyone found indulging in ragging.

Disciplinary Committee- This committee is reported to when any act of indiscipline is completed by any student. This committee takes necessary steps to make sure that the student doesn’t repeat the in-disciplinary act again.

Anti Harassment Women Committee- This committee works to stop any incident of harassment against women. They take strict action against the offenders. They work for the betterment of the situation of women in the society.

Hackathon Club- This club organizes hackathons which are competitive coding events to promote the culture of competitive coding among the students.

Quest Nature Club- This club was established in 2003 by teachers and students of SIRT to function a platform for dissemination of knowledge on environmental issues and to boost general awareness. SIRT is registered with the World Wide Fund for Nature – India. The club members are working to their utmost to urge themselves also as society informed of environmental issues.
